Jesus Christ Baptist Church is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church located in Ocean Springs, MS. The sermons you will hear are designed to call sinners to repentance and to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Scribes held a position of great importance in Israel, yet the Lord told us to beware of them. By the time Jesus was upon earth, the typical Scribe did not have the character and honor of Old Testament Scribes. This underscores the danger and threat that things which began good may not necessarily remain that way if men are not willing to do that which is necessary to sustain it. Scribes in the days of Jesus lived in vanity w...
There is light, yet men have an inability to see it. The failure to see light is a lack of faith. This light is the Light of Christ. The failure is not on God's part. Darkness speaks of unbelief and damnation as the Light has no appeal to lost sinners. No matter the darkness of the clouds, there is always light. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
The Scribes had said that Christ is the son of David. Jesus asked how do they say this when David by the Holy Ghost said the Lord said to my Lord. How can David call Him Lord when He is his son? The Scribes and Pharisees were not able to answer this question revealing their lack of understanding that Christ was indeed the Lord from heaven. Poor attitudes towards the things of God contributed to their lack of understanding of spir...
Job had suffered like no man before. Elihu appears to instruct Job but Job knows the things Elihu speaks about. You don't have to go through something in order to instruct others. However, wisdom is gained through experience. There is a difference in one who experiences things as opposed to those who just quote things. Job said some things that were indicative of a man who was struggling and fighting. Job fought against the...
Jesus was asked by a scribe what is the first commandment. Jesus answered that to love the Lord thy God with all the heart, soul, mind, and strength and thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these two. The focus of saved people should be in these areas. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
All are guilty before God. He stops us so that we are aware. If God did not stop us, we would never stop on our own. It is in this life that God stops the hand and the mouth in order to prepare us for the next life. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
The Sadducees confronted Jesus concerning marriage in the resurrection. In reality, the Sadducees did not believe in the resurrection; thereby exposing their true motive as a mockery of truth and a perpetuation of their erroneous doctrine. Because men do not know the scriptures nor the power of God, they are at a disadvantage of coming to the knowledge of God. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
God's greatness exceeds human understanding and how His teachings, revealed through scripture, creation, and the church, surpass all earthly knowledge. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
The Pharisees and Herodians tempted Jesus by asking Him a question concerning the payment of tribute money to Caesar in an effort that they might catch Him in His words. Jesus seeing their hypocrisy and lack of sincerity, answered them in such a way that they marveled at His answer. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
Many people turn to sin—such as alcohol, drugs, and entertainment—as an escape from affliction, but that affliction can be beneficial and is often used by God to strengthen faith. Affliction can bring spiritual growth and lead believers closer to God. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
Wicked men have always rejected the messengers and servants whom God has sent to reach them. The wicked also reject the only begotten Son of God. The Son, who is the stone rejected of the builders, is now become the chief cornerstone. All men have need of Jesus Christ for salvation. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
The God of love is also a God of wrath. Every unrepentant sinner should give serious consideration to: There is Wrath. Everything about God's wrath is holy and good. God is justified in His wrath. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
The religious leaders challenged Jesus and His authority. The works of Christ were evident His authority came from the Father in heaven. Men should take great care in not rejecting the authority of God's man and the word he speaks. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
Sin often begins as a thought before evolving into an action. Sin is each man's responsibility without the blame laid upon another. God reveals to man his sins so he can acknowledge his wrongdoing and repent. Man must acknowledge his wickedness, repent and believe on Christ for salvation. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
Forgiving is being like God. Christians are taught to forgive and are instructed to ask God's forgiveness for their trespasses as they have forgiven others. The expectation is that if they do not forgive others, God will not forgive them. When one forgives another, it sets them free spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Nothing about forgiving means a condoning of sin. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
Scoffers mock and ridicule the things of God. Every man has the opportunity to know God, but many refuse and instead choose a life of sin. However, they are without excuse as they have chosen to be willingly ignorant. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark
The church is a place of prayer where we worship and learn of God, preach the gospel, and lead others to Christ. It is not a place of commerce, romance, entertainment, or social gatherings. Online and remote venues are not a substitute for actual church attendance. There is great value in fellowship by holding one another accountable, exhorting one another, and being subject to the discipline and authority of the church. Sermon b...
God hates sin but does not hate the sinner. He offers salvation to mankind by the sacrifice of His Son. Every person is valued by God, and no individual is insignificant in His eyes. Sermon by: Pastor Charles McKinney
Jesus came to the fig tree expecting to find fruit thereon. The tree appeared in health as it had leaves. However, when no fruit was found, He cursed it and shortly thereafter, it withered away. One can have the outside appearances that all is well and yet not have produced fruit to the glory of God. With such, God is not well pleased. Sermon by: Assistant Pastor Bobby Clark

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
