Move-In Day at UofL is one of the most exciting - and emotional days of the year for Cardinal families. Whether this is your first time helping a student move into college or you’ve done this before, there’s a lot to prepare for and a lot to take in.
In this episode of From the Ville to the Nest, we’re joined by Kenzi Surkin from Housing and the Residential Experience and Kristin Roberts, Director of Housing Operations, to talk about everything you need to know for Move-In 2025. We cover:
Why having your student’s Cardinal Card (student ID) is a must-have for move-in day
What to do if you can’t immediately reach your student after you say goodbye
Move-in timeslots and how the day flows
What’s allowed (and what’s not) when moving into residence halls
The kind of help families and students can expect on the big day
How and when you’ll receive updates and communications once your student is settled in
Whether you’re nervous, excited, or somewhere in between, this episode will help you feel ready, and remind you that you’re not alone in this big transition.
