wrong to strong.
Hey everyone, my name is AnnCalvillo, and, um, today I'm
just going to share a two minutedevotional, this is where the

(00:53):
Lord has been, um, ministeringto my heart.
He's been impressing, um, thesescriptures on my heart, and so I
just wanted to share with you aswe read through the book of
Revelation chapter two, I knowyour works, your toil and your
patient endurance, and how youcannot bear with those who are
evil, but you have tested thosewho call themselves apostles and

(01:17):
are not, and found them to befalse.
I know you are enduringpatiently and bearing up for my
name's sake, and you have notgrown weary, but I have this
against you, that you haveabandoned the love you had at
first.
Remember, therefore, from whereyou have fallen, repent and do

(01:38):
the works you did at first.
If not, I will come.
To you and remove your lampstandfrom its place unless you
repent.
This is a word from our LordJesus to the Church of Ephesus,
a word of, first encouragement.
He's edifying the church.
He's, he's letting them know,Hey, these are your strengths,

(02:02):
but I have this one thingagainst you that you have
forsaken your first love.
And so here's a church who hasgone through a lot.
They've stood firm, and they'vepersevered.
It says, I know you are enduringpatiently and bearing up for my
name's sake.
So they were a church that knewhow to endure tough times.

(02:24):
They knew how to endurepersecution, and you have not
grown weary.
Here's a church that has stoodfor God's name, for Christ's
sake, right?
But I have this against you.
You have abandoned the love youhad at first, and so.

(02:44):
They abandoned Christ.
And here's where the Lord wasministering to me.
And these people were doing itall.
They were feeding the homeless.
They were taking care of theorphans and widows they were
doing all that.
But they forgot me.
And so church.
That is the warning.

(03:07):
That we can get busy and all thedoing and doing and leave Christ
out of it.
Leave Jesus.
Leave our first love.
We have to examine our hearts.
How do we treat people?
How do we love people?
How am I loving Jesus?
We gotta humble ourselves andrepent and turn completely to

(03:30):
Christ.
And then the last one.
And do the works you did atfirst, so, so now we have to
repeat what we did at first.
How we love the Lord.
The things we did at first, whenI go back then 20 years ago,
there was no social media, therewas no cameras, there was none

(03:54):
of that.
It was just me and the Lord andthe Secret Place and so I just
wanted to share, this word withyou because it's been on my
heart.
Um, I pray that it blesses you.
Church.
I pray that it encourages you.
