Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome, Good
Neighbors, to episode number 248
of the Good Neighbor podcast.
Today we have Good NeighborJude Rozanski from It Quick
Quick Welcome.
Thank you for having me.
Yeah, absolutely so.
I'm going to take a wild guessand say you're in the junk
business.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
That is a good guess.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yes, all right.
Why don't we start off bysharing a little bit about what
you do?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Okay, yeah.
So Junk it Quick is a junkremoval company.
We remove furniture, appliances, construction debris.
We've been doing that for threeyears.
We do that from Punta Gordadown to Naples.
We really pride ourselves onbeing fast, responsive and
professional.
We offer single item pickup andwe also offer an option to
(00:59):
clean out your entire home, sothere's no job that's too small
or too big.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
Everything mean
everything must go right
everything must go.
Yeah, it's just almost like theshow hoarders right, right, so
you had a couple of times.
I'm sure there's plenty ofthose people around down here as
well.
Yeah, so how does one getinvolved in hauling junk around
or away?
Speaker 1 (01:21):
so you know, it kind
of took me, you know, by the
blind side.
I, when I moved down here, myfamily moved down here, like I
said, about three and a halfyears ago or so and I worked for
a moving in a junk removalcompany, right when I moved down
here is actually the peoplethat moved my family into their
home and me and the owner ofthat company became very close
(01:42):
and he would always justencourage me to, you know, start
your own company, whether it'sthis or something else.
And you know I was, I was kindof ready to take the leap of
faith of going into, you know, kind of betting on myself and
getting out of the you know nineto five lifestyle.
So what I did is I, I went outand got a truck, made my LLC, me
(02:03):
and my dad, you know he helpedme with the colors and the name
and everything like that, andthen I just started hitting
every single networking grouppossible and pretty much, that's
pretty much how it started.
The rest is history.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
And it kind of took
off so let's talk about
challenges along the way,Obviously going from concept to
reality, you know, and startinga new business on your own,
there's a lot of challenges,whether personally or
professionally.
Is there something happenedalong your journey that?
Speaker 1 (02:31):
you can look back at
now and said you know what I
made it through.
Yeah, I would say I think thebiggest struggle for small
businesses and just gettingstarted is really having the
capital and then finding youknow the right direction to go
with the company that you knowwith your company and I think
along the way you know meetingpeople and networking.
You know you kind of figure outwhat you want to do and how to
(02:53):
get to the end destination.
But I think you know the reallyhard thing of business is you
know you're the only one thatcan see the end goal and the
dream.
So that's kind of the hardestthing to work with is just kind
of making that happen.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, making that a
reality it's from concept to
reality can be a little dauntingsometimes, but obviously you've
made it through, so that's agood thing.
So let's talk about the mythsor misconceptions surrounding
what you do that we could maybeclear up for our listeners today
.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Okay, yeah.
So there are a lot ofmisconceptions about the junk
removal industry.
A few that stick out to me isthat we just throw everything
away, everything just goes tothe landfill, everything just
gets burned energy.
That's not true.
Many items that we do pick updo go to the dump.
They get burned, and that isone way to get rid of things.
(03:46):
We do a lot of donation too, whether it's shoes, clothes, tvs
, really anything can be donatedif it is good quality.
We try to donate to veteransand things like that.
Another thing that I would sayis showing up late or just not
(04:06):
showing up at all, or companiesthat are unprofessional.
You know, I'm from Ohio.
We have that good Midwest workethic and I know a lot of the
contractors are down here, youknow are on that what we call
island time.
We don't do that over here atJunket Quick.
We answer the phone, we show upon time, we give clear, concise
(04:28):
conversations.
So that would probably be just.
The one thing is just is thisthe work ethic and where the
waste actually goes?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
There we go.
So you're saying you have awork ethic.
That's a good thing.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
A little bit, a
little bit.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
I love that.
So do you notice anythingtrending in the industry, lately
Changing maybe?
Speaker 1 (04:50):
I would say just
probably being on social media,
I'm seeing a lot of people, youknow they post videos of what
they're doing.
You know everyone alwayswatches those pressure washing
videos.
You know I'll sit there forseven minutes and watch somebody
pressure wash a driveway.
It's kind of the same thing inour industry is everyone takes
(05:10):
videos, they do time lapses, youknow testimonials with
customers, so that's kind ofreally coming out.
I see a lot of you know evenyounger kids you know starting a
junk removal company and reallyjust you know cranking it out
on.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
TikTok, yeah, a
little, step by step People love
the videos nowadays they lovevideos.
Man, so you mentioned you werefrom Ohio.
What brought you to SouthwestFlorida?
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, so my little
brother, he is about 11 and he
has special needs.
He's high functioning, he hasautism and he's nonverbal and
the schooling down here is justbetter for him.
It just really wasn't helpinghim very much in Ohio, so we
moved down here, or my parentsmoved down here, and then about
two weeks later I came down andand just you know, to be with my
(05:58):
, just be with my family prettymuch.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Love it, love it,
it's a great place to be Great
place for family.
So I know owning a businesscould be very demanding of your
time.
But when you do get a freemoment, what do you enjoy doing
outside of work?
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I would have to say
being outside.
I mean, it's beautiful here,being active outside.
I like spending time at thebeach, to the gym, nature walks,
hanging out with friends, cooking, um, and I, to be honest
, I really enjoy just a good oldlazy day.
I know we all can admit that weall love a good.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
When I can, get one
by the beach outside.
Yes, we cannot complain aboutthat at all, and I guess you've
given up snow shoveling rightyeah, yeah, I Never again, never
going back there, ever again.
So is there one thing you wishour listeners knew about Junk?
Speaker 1 (06:49):
It Quick that maybe
they won't be too familiar with.
I would just say that you knowwe really put heart into what we
do.
I know it's it's just seemslike it's junk removal, but it
really is more than that.
You know, we are a smallcompany, a local company that
really does care about ourcommunity is more than that.
You know we are a small company, a local company that really
does care about our community, especially our senior and our
veteran community.
We offer fast, responsive, professional junk removal
service and our customers getnothing less.
(07:10):
Every job is handled with youknow, respect and care, no
matter the size, even if it'sjust one recliner, and our main
goal is simple it's just takethe stress off our customers'
shoulders and leave them feelingrelieved and happy with the
clean space.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Very nice, very nice.
So how would our listeners goabout contacting you if they had
some things that need to beremoved or somebody in their
family's a hoarder and they needto clean that up?
