Gabba Gabba Huh?

Gabba Gabba Huh?

Welcome to the Gabba Gabba Huh? Podcast, featuring the best of The Carolinas' punk, alternative, hard rock, and heavy metal from the past 40 years. While the main podcast (Gabba Gabba Huh? Talks) will be more converstional and interview style, while "Gabba Gabba Huh? Radio" will focus on the music, with some background information on the songs and bands featured. Most songs will be digitized from original vinyl, cassette, or CD sources, thus the quality will vary, but will be rather true to the original form. Hosted by Mike Phillips from Van Huskins

This week, Gary Ramsey paid a visit to the GGH Studio to talk about his nearly 50 years of playing music. Gary is one of a kind and a real hidden gem in the music scene, getting his inspiration by seeing Zeppelin in his teens, cutting his teeth on metal, moving to California and then walking back to North Carolina, a detour in prison after he got back, and America's Got Talent audition, and so many other stories, some of which...

This week I  spoke with Mitchell McGirt of Bicycle Face via Skype to follow up on how the reunion show went and to hear about the Caleb Southern tribute show the following night as well. We also hit a few quick tangents and talk about what the future may hold for Mitch. This episode was already planned, but having this week's guest reschedule left a hole in the schedule, so this shorter episode should hold you over until next ...

This week I travelled to Greensboro, NC, to talk to Bicycle Face about their reunion shows and the reason they came about. In addition to talking about their histories in music, we also talk about witty stage banter, Caleb Southern, where Bicycle Face fit into the triangle signing spree of the mid-nineties, and becoming a "that guy!" actor.

This week I sat down with the band Bog Loaf, at the bar of The Milestone Club in Charlotte NC to talk about their individual and collective musical journeys! I gush a little bit up front and again at the end about what this place means to me, and we have to deal with a fan in the background (I scrubbed it as much as I could), but then we get around to all things Bog Loaf, including their upcoming residency at Snug Harbor (Every Wed...

Not only does Chuck walk us through the history of his band, but he also fills in a lot of gaps in the South Carolina punk rock history that hasn't made it on the podcast yet. We also talk about touring, his side projects, how punk rock and old age go hand in hand, we have a brief visit from my parents dogs, and talk about getting the band b...

New year, new format? Sort of! Gabba Gabba Huh? is back with a tighter, more focused episode for your listening pleasure! This doesn't mean that the longer, artist's journey, style episodes are done, but expect a good mix of the two as I intend to bring you more consistent content for your ears this year! This week, I once again visit with Luke Edwards at his home in Shelby, NC to catch up on what's been going on wit...

Gabba Gabba Huh? is back?! Yes! At least this week! After this, it may (or may not) be next year before I get the ball really rolling again. Hear a little bit about that up front, but I was having microphone issues (causing some audio issues throughout), so some of what I had to say never made it, but you'll get the idea! This week's guest is Ahvid Harris, a local self-described impressionist, with poetry being the main s...

This week I got my friends Jon and Jordan Bowman to come over and talk about what Warboys US are up to, and what they're up to in general.
