on this morning, we've got an author that's joining us
on the show. You know, you may have heard of

Diego has done some research for university paper about which

is dirty a toilet water or ice water in the machines.
Then this particular research was so amazing that then it
rolled out around the world, and countries all over the
world started doing the same research, and all around the
world the same moment came back. So it's quite cute actually,

because I've looked at the original research paper, which was
from two thousand and eight, and in the research paper,
the kid that's doing it all the university student at
the very end of the research said, my mom drove
me to all the hotels to get all of the

then this became worldwide. So basically what the student did
is they went to the San Diego City Water Lab,
spent a bit of time with them to see what
they were doing to the water there, took samples from there,
had to look how much bacteria was in. Then, because
of his mum, they drove around to all these hotels
and they did two things. They got the water from
the ice from the ice machines yep, and tested that

against the water from the toilets in the same place, right,
and they found that the water from the ice machines
had more backer than the water from the toilet. Wow.
So even did they give a reason, because there was
quite a few reasons. One is people aren't cleaning them
out enough because they figure it's water, so they're not

actually taking the time to clean them out. But how
do zakteria get in there in the first place from
the dirty hands of the people kind of reaching in
and getting the ice out. And the apparatus is that
they use to get the ice out right, So they're
saying that a lot of the acteria is like a coli,
which is poo. So the people who are cleaning it

out haven't washed their hands. Seventy two percent of the
samples of ice were literally not safe to drink. What's
seventy two percent, that's a lot. Seventy two percent not
safe to drink. So then this has rolled out all
around the world. China, all around America all started doing
these tests based on this kids. It was a science

fair project. Yes, they do. Over there, those more bacteria
in the ice and in the toilets. They had Burger
King more bacteria, and Iceland toilets, Machas more bacteria and
Iceland toilets KFC more bacteria in the Iceland toilets. Starbucks
more bacteria in the ice and the toilets, but within

not necessarily the ones closer to home. This is from
the research paper from this kid. But maybe don't blame
