Speaker 1 (00:00):
Robert de Niro has done an anti Trump speech, and
he was a bit annoyed because he was winning an
award at an awards ceremony. It's called the Gotham Awards
in New York. They recognized the best productions, directors and
actors in independent films. And so some of the celebrities
that were there, Margot Robbie was there, Our Girl, another
the Portman, Bradley Cooper, Leonardo DiCaprio. So he jumped on

(00:24):
stage to have a chat about the new Martin Scorsese
movie Killers of the Flower Moon and he stars in
that alongside Brendan Fraser Yep, who's had a big resurgence
in Leonardo DiCaprio. So he's there and he's doing a
chat and he's making some comments about the movie. But
then he realizes that a big part of his speech
is missing from the prompter that he'd written and sent in.

(00:44):
So he decided to get his phone out and read
it anyway. Love this actor's gone rogue. The section that
was missing was all about Donald Trump, and he's got
a bit of a history of attacking Donald Trump. Have listened.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I just want to see one thing. The beginning of
my speech. Was it cut out? I didn't know about it,
and I want to read it. History isn't history anymore.
Truth is not truth. Even facts are being replaced by
alternative facts and driven by conspiracy theories and ugliness. Lying
has become just another tool in the Charlatan's arsenal. The

(01:19):
former president lied to us more than thirty thousand times
during his four years in office, and he's keeping up
the pace in his current campaign of retribution. But with
all his lies, he can't hide his soul. He attacks
the weak, destroys the gifts of nature, and shows disrespectfulness.
Is where I came in, and I saw that they

(01:39):
edited all that. So I'm going to say these things
but to Apple and thank them and all that got
them blah blah blah. But I don't feel like thanking
them at all?

Speaker 3 (01:52):
How dare they do that?

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Actually?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
I rub it?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
I did?

Speaker 4 (01:58):
I say, do.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
You think that's fair?

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Well, giving someone a platform, you've got to respect the
fact that they should be able to do what they want.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Freedom of speech, Yeah, that's right. If some person can
have freedom of speech and spread lies, wellhy can't somebody
tell them the truth have their freedom of speech as well?

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Yep, someone that was in charge of that is obviously
a fan of the person he was going to back. Oh, yes,
of course.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Hey, I'll move on from that. Bradley Cooper was having
a chat to Howard Stern in a new interview and
he explained that to get ready for a Star is Born,
it was him singing, and then he took a year
of lessons to get ready for that role. You know
how he is a beautiful singer and it I actually
love that soundtrack. Still he's talking a lot about it

(02:44):
at the moment. Obviously he's got a new movie out
and it's quite serious, but here he is talking about singing.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
It wasn't my boys, it was the characters, the way
he sings, And well, I was explaining that to me.
In other words, you're just saying that that guy Jackson
means saying with that voice, you know, I mean, if
I were gonna sing like remember I remember Billy Joel
talking about he always could imitate so many people's voices
and his singing voice was a bunch of patchwork of
all these different voices. So I mean it took me

(03:10):
a year, Howard of training with this guy Roger Love.
I think we did it three or four times a week,
just so I could get up and sing in front
of people, because it's so hard I found it because
of breathing. You could have Bradley maybe dubbed in a voice,
but that would has sucked, right.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
The nuclear power of the movie is Lady Gaga's voice
that has to be recorded live. So I had to
learn how to sing otherwise, I mean, because you know
the story of the movie happens when they're on stage singing.
I mean, it would have been a first all. I
would have felt like such an idiot, right, it would
have been crazy.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I love that because anyone can learn to sing if
you try, you know. Hey, And just finally, just because
you know Amy Shark, we love her so much. The
release date for the new Idol has been announced. If
you want to get on board and watch it, it's
going to be January the twenty ninth. In twenty twenty four,
this year, the judges are going to be Kyle, Amy Shark,

(04:08):
and Marsha Heines. So Harry Connick Junior is not coming back.
Nora is Meghan Trainor. But there was a bit bargie
barge between Kyle and Harry knick, so I wonder if
that was a part of that. And of course we
had Ricky Lee on today and she's back as well,
returning as the host. So we say good luck. They've
already filmed it all, but whatever, good luck guys. That's
entertainment news.
