Electricity bills too high for Christmas lights

does all Christmas lights they should enter because they give
so much to the community with putting up all their

I bring that up is Compare the Market have released
a new research and they're saying people and this year
are not putting up as many Christmas lights to saving

Okay. So look, here's the thing.

Apparently it doesn't actually make much of a difference to
your electricity bills, according to Compare the Market. So just
what I'm ready, because if you put up Christmas lights
and you see a big difference, by all means, give
us a and tell us if it makes a difference.
But Compare the Market they said that putting up Christmas
lights should only cost about six dollars a month more
for that month. Okay, but they also said it depends

on the age of your Christmas lights. So if you're
using really old ones, which.

You may have done because you might have been collecting
for a long time, right.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Right when you see these explosions of color, you know
those people have been collecting over the years. But they're
saying that LED lights are the way to go, so
it might be time to bump out the old and
get some new, which then kind of doesn't make sense
because you've got to buy the new and you're already
trying to save money on your electricity bills. But if
you could go the LED, all the solar ones. I

got some solo ones from Bunnings on sale after Christmas
a couple of years ago, and they go, Okay, they're
not as bright, to be honest, they're not as fabulous
as the old school ones. And like we were talking yesterday,
everything old was better and last all.

Those lights over the tree in your front yard. Yeah,
but that's all year round.

Yeah, that's goods actually beautiful. That was You wouldn't have
to light up your house at all and just have
that true.

But do you know what I actually have. I bought
it online a couple of years ago. It's like a
laser show and it's like it's got a steak on
it and you stake it into the grass and you
run the electricity out. I don't know how to explain
it very well. It's like broadcasts. I'm sorry.

Essentially, it's a projector onto my house because I've got
a big white house projector and then you can set
it to music and it's got all little red and
green dots and it just goes.

Every year I chuck it on the path.

Pilots going over the top have to go to a
different way because they get blinded by the show down there.

All the neighbors have it. It's like the cheatiest way
to do Christmas because it looks like you have hung
lights all over.

Your whole house and it's just one just like.

It's light and for the kids, they don't care.

They're just looking at the visual stuff and everything like
that been a Christmas lights person, haven't you. Yeah, because
you know when you do any lights and then one
breaks and then it wrecks the whole line up and
then you have to find it.

Yes, well I've been. I was so frustrated in the
old days doing that.
