Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tomato when our Gold Coast Titans are taken on the
Newcastle Knights at SeaBus Stadium this Saturday, and we're going
to catch up with mister Jim landerhand to talk all
about it from the Titans.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
On Jim, Good morning, Good morning king. Where are you
right now?
Speaker 1 (00:25):
We're trying to grab you in between flights? Is that right?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah? Just in the vergently and just got in here.
Cheese and crackers for Brecky winning.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
They didn't pat your down, mate, for explosives or anything
when you came through the airport.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
I got through pretty unscaped this time, which was lucky.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
No knee replacements or hip replacements.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
A couple of extra screws here and they have it. No,
I'm pretty good now now.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
How are you feeling? Wasn't the greatest result yesterday?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
No? No, certainly disappointed with the result. I think we
didn't start well at all, and I think we've probably
put ourselves under a pressure from pretty much the first
or second set of the game. So I thought we
did really well hanging in and sort of dragging a
game back to a situation where it was lunerable for us,
But unfortunately we just couldn't get the job done.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Well, that's always the case, isn't it. If you've spend
all your petrol on catching up, then you've got to
spend more tickets in trying to get the wins. So
I felt like that's what happened.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, certainly, I think it would be better for the
run in the fact that we've had a bit of
an extended time off. Every other team's nearly played two
games there before we played one, so I think we'll
be better for the run. Ten Oh, and OURCG had
a little bit of an extended break before the start
of the season two and I haven't done much training,
so we put them under a little bit more pressure
than they needed to be able to start, and then
(01:45):
once fatigue sitting, it sort of made it hard for ourselves.
So the boys are disappointed. We wanted to certainly start
off in a better way than what we did on
the weekend, but I think there's some sides there for
us to see some improvements, and there certainly once we
get on an even footing with side and go set
for set, I think we can see some good things coming.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
The Bulldog's got a.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Couple of injuries because of the game, so you did
fight hard, did you guys come out?
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Scott Free might have a couple of bumps and burs.
I think a La Fiana cam Perira might have done
his handstring right in the last tackle of the game,
which is going to be unfortunate, so he might be
out for an extended break. And Jimmy Jollath White've got
a little bit of a carf issues, so I think
they'll have to check those guys up early this week
with the medical staff see where we're at with that.
But could be a couple of little omissions next week
(02:32):
going into the game against Newcastle.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
The good news, Jimmy is that you still got score
on the board even though you started sort of from
way behind. You know that's in the system definitely.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I think once we've got any sort of field position
on the weekend, we found the points really quickly. So
the points again scoring for us isn't a problem. It's
probably managing our fatigue early in the game and making
sure that we put ourselves in a position to defend
straw and as little of it as possible. So again,
(03:04):
the start of the game wasn't great for us. I
think we've lost a lot of field position early with
a charge down kicking. They scored straight away and put
ourselves on the back foot, and I think of the
next four sets we had early eros and yardage by
just outside backs just dropping it in, contacting one or
two players at the start of the set. So put
ourselves under a lot more workload than we needed to.
But hopefully we'll get the benefits of it next week.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Physically, well, it's a home game, which is great, so
for us it's exciting.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
It's the first one of the season.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Absolutely, we can't wait to get back to seeve us
and have a game. So really looking forward to getting home,
really looking forward to be a side that the Gold
Coaster is proud of.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Well it's the Fortress. We'll be out there too, mate,
so we look forward to seeing you and look, mate,
we thank you for being available again for twenty twenty
five to be one of our correspondents.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
To absolute pleasure. I know nothing better than waking up
and talking to you guys on a Monday morning.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Somehow there was a tug placed in your cheeck be Gin, no.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
One else would speak.
Speaker 1 (04:07):

little sneaky early thank you, thank you, Bye,
