Speaker 1 (00:00):
In Lewis Devody. Good morning, Legends, How are you good
to see it?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Now?
Speaker 1 (00:04):
You're launching the Gold Coast Filters.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
We are coming back around for the Goldifield Festival. This
Wednesday is going to be all kicking off, So it's
going to be twelve days of epicness once again.
Speaker 4 (00:12):
And what are you looking forward to most? Well, I
know there's probably a couple of things.
Speaker 5 (00:16):
There's a couple of things.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
Obviously I'm a little bit biased because there's a film
I shot last year called Hagar's Hut and we've got
the premiere for that on the eighth, so that's going
to be It's one of those things where you're as
excited as you are nervous, you know, because I haven't
seen the project yet. But no, but it's it's one
of those roles where I've got to do where it's
a lot different from anything I've ever played. It's a
lot more of a darker tone. It's a psychological thriller,
(00:39):
so I wanted I want.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
To do the dude like you the psycho.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
So I don't want to give too much away about
the character and what the twist is with a lot
of things, but my character is a lot, like it's
darker than anything I've ever played.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
So to you, yes, yeah, because.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
There's been a couple of roles where I kind of
after the the you know, the scene is done, I
talked to the director. I'm like, I don't know where
I end and the character begins. Because it's a very
laric in style character and they're great to play, but
when you do it time and time again, you really
want that change and so you know things like Underbelly
was fun, and you know you really want to stretch,
like spread your wings a bit. So with this, I
knew exactly where that character began and I ended, so
(01:16):
because it was so different from anything that I've ever
done and also different from my own personality.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
There's this thing I call it change of face.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
There's a moment in your character that everything's going nicely,
but then you have to reveal that you're darker than
what you're first showing.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
The moment you look for as an actor, and you
see some of the times where they where they let
it set in a scene when you're watching whatever, and
they their face is a certain way, and then all
of a sudden, like you said.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Your movie Change your Face Face.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Off a classic like on it. But actually, you know
what's speaking of John Travolta is we're having a screening
of Grease at the Film Festival.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
There's a couple of iconic ones.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
We've got Crocodile Dundee on Thursday night, which we have
a gala night, so I'm going to miss that. But
there's Crocodile Dundee, there's Grease, I think Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Oh yes, classic movies last so many.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
People, and you get all the kids to them so
they can see them on the big screen rather than screen.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
They got to see those iconic ones because we were
just having a bit of a chat before we walked
in here about that. There's so many great films, especially
I'm a real rom com fan, right, and so some
of those rom coms like How to Lose a Guy
in Ten Days, Ten Things I Hate About You, even
one called Fools Gold that was made in the early
two thousands.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
As Welland yes, and like those fun rom com style films,
we're like, we need to make some more of those ones,
you know, the way that they made them so though,
they become classics for a reason.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
So yeah, there's there's a couple of good classics being
shown at this film festival, as well as a couple
of really great indie films. There's some local projects as always,
and and there's a lot of stuff like we have
the Women in Film Lunch, which is always great. And
then there's also one of the mornings we're going to
be having a yoga session being put on at Hotter,
put on by LSKD.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Now let's talk about the big thing besides you being
here is Peter andre Is coming home and he's got
a film coming out, Jeff facn Fake.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
It's really good.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
It looks like a lot of fun. It's going to
be a great time. So yeah, it's it's great to
see him on the big screen. I'm looking forward to that.
I reckon that's going to be a great night as well.
So yeah, we're all going to be there with bells
on to watch that.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Has he still got his apps? He still looks great.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
I think he's like a thoroughbred. You know, you can't
you can't think of a thoroughbred. He's just going to be.
He's like until until the day he dies, he's going
to be just a look.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
That was a mysterious girl when he walks out of
the water.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, yeah, keep going talk about I kind of yeah,
I mean me too almost there.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Honestly, he inspired me to do sit up. So it's
just never happened.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
I've never walked out the water like that up even
the bath.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Still, you know what, I think we need to do,
Like we need to recreate that with you and him
walking out of the water here on the Goldie somewhere.
I reckon that this.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Oh I think we're talking about. I think we're all
sick that day.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
If you were doing odlne up all week for tickets
to that show.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
All right, Well, everyone's going to get to the Gold
Coast Film Festival. There is so much on offer for
the Gold Coast and.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
You'll be at a lot of the events if you want.

for young filmmakers, people in the industry as well as
people just want to come and enjoy it. So come along,
