Right now, Well, Dolphin number seven seven eight has left
the building. That was Ariann Titmas's Dolphin Australia number. That's
a cool way to start it. Yeah. And she has
announced on social media this morning a beautiful ten minute video,

which is unusual for Instagram. And I just sat and
watched the whole thing and I cried. And she's announced
that she has decided to retire at twenty twenty five.
And this is a little bit of it. Now. Oh,
hang on a second, Oh, it's not work. I was
going so well, retire a tough one, A really tough

(00:44):
one one that I'm really happy. Yeah. She now she's
everyone's asking why at twenty five. She's done two Olympics,
she's won everything that you can win. But a bit
I guess inside information that I was able to have
because she came on the podcast Million I Do Together
for iHeartRadio, which has Move Over Mama, and her health

scare right before the Paris Olympics really really shook her.
And she goes into that a little bit in the
clip that she's just put on Instagram, And so it
was a tumor and she was going along well, but
she was tired. All these things were going on and
it ended up having to be removed and it was huge.

(01:25):
It was a huge tumor, and she had to rehabilitate
herself so quickly to get to Paris and then win
absolutely everything. But there were also other complications as a woman,
she had to go home and freeze eggs. What did
that mean for her fertility? What did that mean for
her life? So after Paris, she's taken this big, beautiful
break and things have shown themselves to be more important

to her right now. And I think as a real
class act, she probably had to ask herself. And I
don't know this for sure. I do know that we
spent a couple of hours with her recording in the
Brisbane studios, and I know her dad obviously from having
worked with him at Channel seven. Steve. There was a
lot of things that she didn't want to miss out on,
and swimming makes you miss out on those things. So

you've got to train in the morning and in the afternoon.
You have to have a dedication that is unlike anything else,
and there's no room for anything else, so to get
yourself ready for the next Olympics in La And then
obviously it would have been great if she could have
swum at home here, but it was She's got so
much more going on. She's in love now with a

great guy. I know that she wants that to go somewhere.
I know swim no nobod. He's in finance and they
met through some of her other commitments. And she really
wants kids as well. Really, and there's nothing like as
a woman thinking that that might be taken away from you,
that you then have to really assess what do I
want for my life. So you can actually hear glimpses

asked a question
