Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yesterday we had a funeral and it was just it
was beautiful because we all were together, but it was
awful because we had to say goodbye to a beautiful
employee of Hot Tomato. His name was Adam Port and
you would not have known that you were hearing him,
but Goldks, you heard him. For twelve years, he was
our audio producer and he created all our ads for
(00:23):
our clients, along with Mel who would write them. And
he had a very brief battle with cancer and passed
away last week at only forty two. And it was
just awful. The whole thing's been awful. Adam was legally
blind and so sound was his life. So he was
an exceptional audio producer. But he also just loved music
(00:46):
and he went to all the concerts that he could
get to. He saw everyone and everything, and when I
say saw, he heard, and he took himself to all
of those every consets too. Absolutely think he loved the
iPhone with the torch so he could see where he's
going when he's walking to transport and that sort of thing.
And then he'd also, you know, watch, he'd zoom right
in so you could see people on his iPhone. iPhone
(01:08):
was an excellent invention for people like Adam. And so
we did the funeral yesterday at a Lamby, and I
had to be the celebrate. I offered to be the
celebrate because I thought it'd be nice that it was
somebody that they knew. Really hard to do someone that
you love. Anyway, it was just the most beautiful service.
But we had this moment, and we've got to thank
Producer one for organizing this. So Adam was just the biggest,
(01:32):
biggest fan of Delta Goodroom, Like it was a joke
for us. We would all joke of his love for
El Delta. If she was in a concert somewhere, he
was there, he'd met her a few times, he'd ask
us to play the music, he'd get the new songs
on hot Tomato, and we just all loved his love
of Delta Goodroom. And when he was really really in hospital,
(01:56):
the whole team just thought it would be great to
get Delta to call or even mess draw a video
or something. And it was hard work to do that
because you know, she's just got married, and it's difficult.
Even for us as a radio station. We often get asked, hey,
could you get us in touch with Ed sheeran. We're like,
we were cutting. We get in touch with ed sheeering,
but it's not as difficult when the velvet sledgehammers on
(02:16):
the job, That's right. And so Mon managed to get
a hold of Delta and Delta's people, and on the
day Adam passed no word of a lie, she rang
at four o'clock to speak to him via the family,
and then he passed away at six, so he got
to speak to her. She then face timed. She was
on the phone for a bit and then she's like,
I really want to see you, so she facetimed and
(02:38):
you could hear he acknowledged it. That's right. And it
was just wonderful for the whole family. And so all
of us were already massive fans of Delta because we
knew this had happened, and we were.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Like, that's it.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Delta's the girl, like we all loved her anyway, how
can you not, But it's just like she is an
angel to have done this. But then yesterday she actually
recorded the most beautiful message for Adam, which we were
able to play at the funeral. And we thought it
was just going to be a message, and then she
played a song on her piano for him, and so
(03:09):
we just want to play it for you now to
say thank you to Delta. And also her words are
our words in farewelling our beautiful Adam.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Hi. Everyone, it's Delta here and I am honored to
be a part of celebrating the beautiful life of Adam,
a son, a brother, a friend, and a beautiful soul,
a part of my music community who's been flying the
flag for many years now. When I have been blessed
to have met Adam in this world, you know, when
you meet people who have a true heart connection to
you through spirit and through song, they always stay with
(03:42):
you and they are forever a part of the journey.
They're mortally a part of the music and my heart.
Through that connection, I'm sending as much physical rays of
light i can from here to all of you today
in your celebration of his life and his light as
he goes to be with the other angels watching over
for all of you.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Now.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
We love you, Adam, and we know you were born
to try. Thank you for letting me be a part
of your story in a very small way through music.
But we will always think of you when we hear
these songs. This one's for you.

And protected from the worlds of love.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
All see me.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Do you believe.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
That he was born to try, learned love beyond standing
and believe in lie. But you gotta make your absens
be won, Go b Sometimes you've got a sacrificetas in line,
(05:21):
but he was born to try.
