Speaker 1 (00:00):
Seven four one on Hot Somato with Gaily and Emily J.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Bath This happened over the weekends. The race not just
a city.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
On its own and brock Feenie came second the local
buy Now, ladies and gentlemen, we have a very special
guest here in the studio.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
How may the issue of introducing you to welcome down
the show? What Feenie? Good morning, Good morning guys. It's
good to catch up with you again. Seen a bit.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
How well did you go with Bathist? You were just
right on their tail the whole time. It was a
I was exciting to watch. Actually I was feel like
a proud mamma. But you almost got there. But second
is still great. And I know Gaily gets upset when
I'm like, but you know they need to win, But
I'm like, second are still great.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Yeah, it's a hard one because normally you're probably happy
with the second bathest. It's like the one that doesn't
really matter. No one really remembers he comes second at Bathist.
But it was it was still a good day, so
there's plenty to be happy about.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
It was good racing was like, there's only one accident.
I think everyone was driving so well. We were just talking.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
About it the other day.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Yeah, it was hard. I think it was the fastest
race ever at Bassett. Only one safety car, it just
meant that it was a really fast pace race. So
there's a lot of people saying it was very boring
because there was not much action. But I got in
with five hundred k to go and it was pretty
much qualifying laps for you know, eighty laps of the race.
So I was absolutely knacked by the time I finished.

(01:27):
But yeah, it was it was hard work, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
We'll talk us through you through the thought process while
you were doing it, like you were like, oh, how
do I like, what were you doing to try and
get in there?

Speaker 4 (01:37):
It's about getting in a rhythm at Bassett. So, as
I said, I think I had seventy eight laps to
go and I was about eighteen seconds off the lead
when I got in. So for me, I'm just like
I got to catch these guys and without the safety cars,
it was quite hard. So I was fortunate enough to
be quite fast and have a good car, so I
was able to bring that down to four seconds. After that,
it was a thirty lap literal sprint race. Me and

(02:00):
Brody were going at it. I'm not that disappointed because
I just gave it hard to all. Like. I don't
look back on it and think I could have done
that better. So I'm proud of that, but obviously Steel
a little bit disappointed that we come up short.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
It doesn't seem like long ago.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Mate, we were talking about when you're going to get
your first chance at Bathurst and when you're going to
drive the street circuit on the Gold Coast for the
first time. Have you found it now like sort of
probably eighteen months after now, where you're sort of racing
all the time and you're settling in nicely, or do
you still feel like you've got some green bits floating around? Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:36):
For sure, I'm feeling a lot more comfortable where I'm
at at the moment. You know, I'm three years in
and I was actually my fifth bathest, so I feel
like a veteran there now, crazy, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
You're still a little team to me.

Speaker 4 (02:51):
I turned twenty two next week, so it's still hard
to believe that. Yeah, I'm in my fifth bathest, but look,
it's been awful. I've got a great team around me
that makes me feel super comfortable. And the good thing
is now I'm not trying to learn from our mistakes.
I'm trying to win a championship. So that's what I've
always wanted to do, and fortunately we're in that position

(03:14):
where we're fighting for one of the moments.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Well, look, we're so proud of you. You did a great
job and we're going to see you soon here on
the Gold Coast for obviously a race at home.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, what needs to happen for you to win the championship? Mate?
How far behind are you at the moment.

Speaker 4 (03:29):
So I'm two hundred points behind, and there's three hundred
points per weekend, so there's still six hundred points up
for grabs. Look, it's my teammates in first of the moment,
So my goals just go out and try and win
the next four races. I'm certainly not going to championship race,
you know, they settle for a second or something like that.
I'm just going to go out and try and win
the next few races and we'll see what happens. Look,

(03:51):
it's probably a little bit of a long shot, but
we're still in in the hut.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, when you're driving quick, that's for sure, as proven
by how you got around Bathurst traveling.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Around for racing, like have you gone to the track?
And when you do drive around surfers there is it
a bit hard to drive the speed limit.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
I normally like to wait until it's finished, till once
I get in my real car and then I can
go proper.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Bath Look at you, you actually get to be brock Feenie.
But when I'm driving just to go pick the kids up,
I think I'm brock Feenie. When I'm driving underneath all
the signs, okay, just me, that's funny.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
I'm not going to bridge.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
She treats the forty zone at school like the chicane mate.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
She's all over the as long as you do it
under the speed limit, that's okay.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
It's only just that stripped their down surfers.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
When you go fast, all the set up leaches and
underneath the sign and I'm like, I'm just imagine I'm
brock Feenie for a minute.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
She revs her Tesla. It's amazing, sounds like a raight car.
We're super proud of you.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
You know that we are, But I think so for
chatting to us this morning.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
No, thanks guys, Thanks again.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
