again today. As Gold Coast residents get into the swing
of its clean up and restoration mission, Council has announced
three disaster waste disposal sites to help residents clear their properties.
They'll open from eight am at Almost Sports Park, Tugan

Village Community Center and Carrara Sports Precinct. Helen Reed from
the Weather Bureau says we're now on an easing rain trend.

Showers are possible about coastal areas with easterly winds pushing
and shore. No significant falls are expected, mostly less than
five millimeters in rang Gagers.

It's good news for Antajex's crews as well as they
work to restore power to around twenty six thousand homes
and businesses on the Gold Coast still in the dark
this morning. Majority will be back online by Friday night.
Relief for commuters, with public transport now back up and
running is normal on the Gold Coast after days of
disruptions and suspended routes. Trams will be fully operational from

Helensvale to Broadbeach South, while buses and trains will resume
running to a full weekday at timetable. The majority of
Gold Coast schools are swinging open the classroom doors this morning.
Only about forty will stay closed due to still being
without power or having been damaged in the cyclone.
