Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Gold Coast one to nine, Hot Tomato eight fifty
three with Gaily and Emily Ja for Your Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I sat next to one of the biggest movie stars
in the world yesterday.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
It was so cool and also not cool.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
What happens for you? That not cool? Bit?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You are correct, You are completely correct, all right. So
I won't say exactly where it was because I do
want to keep this person's privacy because they have been
followed by Ossie paps and when they were here last
filming a movie, they went viral for going straight up
to the pap going you're filming me, you're filming me?

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Is this what you want?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Is this what you want? And I'm talking about Jack Black, Yes,
of course, remember that moment right recently. Yeah, and we've
got outrage.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
We're like, leave the guy alone if he's come back
to work on the same film, so.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I believe so. So there are some cutaways and everything.
So Jack Flag's been here, he's been filming. And when
they were here a couple of months ago, I remember
they were filming in and around Mullan Diner and Ashmore
and they were everywhere all.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Right in that as well, because I know he's on
the coast too.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
I think, yeah, there's a few movies being made right now,
like Chris Hemsworth is making the one at the Movie
World right now as well about.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
The Tariff's on. We're going so well, I know they're
all here.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
But anyway, the other day, I get a beautiful gift
from my mother in law and it's a voucher for
a massage. So yesterday it was the day that I
decided to take it. And at the end of my massage,
they put you in these little pods and like little
cane cocoon pods. They're really cute and seeing your little.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Winding, they sit you.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
There in the beginning and then they take you back there.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah you know.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
And so I won't say which one it was, but
I'm sitting in this little pod and then next minute
I hear an American accent and then walking right in
front of me being taken to his pod right next
to me, it is Jack Black.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
That's you're right next to me. It was right next
to him.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
So he's wearing really Larry like board shorts and his
hairs or he's just Jack Black. It's just uneniable. And
I did that moment of like yeah, your brain goes, oh,
hi Jack, I know you.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Your brain goes, no.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
You don't know him.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
What would have been from behind the pod where he
can't see you or he hear is Jack.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
So then I was completely uncool because he sat down
the pod and I heard a little bit of the conversation.
He just got off a long flight, so he was
quite tired. So I was like, well, I obviously can't
bother him.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
And then virtually in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
And then he laid down in the pod and it's
just his feet sticking out like the Wicked Witch from
the West when she gets killed in the Wizard of Oz.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
So you can see his feet.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
So I filmed his feet.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
You've done a film on Jack Jack Black's feet then.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
And I was taking photos of myself like, oh, here
I am after a massage and here's here's me.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
I'm all relaxed, which is an out of the question, and.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It was really just his little feet. And then I'm
messaging like I was messaging my husband like I'm seeing
ext to Jack Black, and he's like, ask him on
the podcast. Then I message you, guys, I'm sitting next
to Jack Black. You're like, ask him on the show.
I'm like, I can't bother him.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I don't. I'm proud of you because normally you're a
little bit you. Normally, normally it's the opposite. You'll yell
out yeah yeah, to say hi.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
But anyway, I did do something. Okay, So at the
end of it, I went up to the counter and
I said to the lady's said, do you have any
pen and paper? I know you're going to bring him
back to the pod. Can I leave a little message
for him? And they said yeah, and they said, he's really,
really nice. He comes here all the time. He has
the same therapist. When he saw her today, high fived.
He was so happy to see her. He's so nice.

(03:34):
And so I wrote a little note just saying Hi, Jack.
I was in the pod next to you freaking out.
I wanted to say thank you for the wonderful films.
You've brought such joy to my family. We love them all,
especially School of Rock and Nato Libra, but also my
seven year old will want me to say Chicken Juckie,
love Emily Jay.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
There you go. So you're still yeah, impacted on his life.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
No, they probably didn't give it to.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
So explicive interview on the show tomorrow to wrap up.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
The show's pulling through it.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Good on your Jack, We do love it. We love
you Jack. Yes, we won't havessle you that you've dodged
a ball dodged. We don't know how.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
I did leave my full name, thought maybe he might
you know, google me.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
No. Frist Day's coming in next to twenty song in
our own music marathon to kick off your workday. Have
a great Wednesday.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
