Speaker 1 (00:00):
One of to nine Hot Tomato and Sunshine Ford's twenty
thousand dollars beat the bowers of his back.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
We've already had one winner this morning.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Two d and fifty.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Four dollars, stop.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Dollars, that's all yours.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
It went up to that and then down the back
to that.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
You went right, Oh, that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
I'm going to play again. We live after nine this morning.
It's Gaily and Emily Jade.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
I've taken one for the team and I've watched with
love Megan Oh, so i can review it and share
the experience with Gaily, who does not like Megan Michael.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Okay, I'm not a fan.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I just feel like I see I feel like I
see through it, and I think I'm not alone. It's
especially now the more shows she does, the more people go.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
Ah, yes, she's getting interesting reviews.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Most of the world is hating on her, but there
are a few that are saying, what's wrong with it?
Speaker 2 (00:53):
And watching the show is saying it's quite soothing, you know.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
She speaks so beautifully and softly, and she isn't real
and all of the set, even though it's meant to
be her house, but it's a set it's beautiful beige
and calm colors, and all of her friends come over
and she treats them so beautiful for me, So you
get where Gaily stands. Do you want to know what
(01:16):
it's like, Gaily?
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Okay, it is like pinterest in a TV show. Okay,
Megan's pinterest in a TV show is the best way
I can describe it. So, like first episode, she's showing
us how she prepares for guests to come and stay,
and she likes to make them a welcome basket, and
the welcome basket is freshly cut flowers from her garden
(01:40):
that's not her garden because it's a set. And then
she makes like bath salts with dried flowers that she's
picked and dried herself and grown herself. And she sort
of pops some popcorn straight from the corn cob in
the microwave and then puts it into a plastic bag
with a little handwritten note with her beautiful writing. And
that's the welcome gift for when her ends come to stay,
(02:00):
because she wants to tell us that people need to
know that we were thinking of them before they came,
and to make people feel special. And then the second
episode is like her preparing for a kid's birthday party,
but there's not actually a kid's birthday party because she
doesn't have her kids in the show and there's no
other kids around to have the kid's birthday party.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
But this is how he could prepare.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
But in each episode, like a special celebrity guest friend comes,
and in that particular episode, she's talking to her friend
Mindy saying, see, you don't need event planners to do
a birthday party.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
You can do it yourself, like like because we all do.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
And it's so she's almost been condescending to her friend, saying,
I don't use a party plannet. But she's also kind
of been condescending to us because for real life, she
teaches us how to make a balloon darland for the
birthday party from Timu. Like she's gone on to Tiamu
and bought a balloon garland and she's teaching us how
(02:57):
to blow it up. She's like, oh, you teach get
a bit sore, so you can buy this balloon bowie
up thing for like twenty dollars.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
It's like duh, mecan.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
It's like a snobby, elite version of better homes and
gardens is the best.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Way to describe it.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
When you meet someone that they say really simple things,
but they say it like they're telling you that you
would have heard it for the first time.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
That's exactly why it is, because it's.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Like if you just sit, okay, so what's something simple?
So when you when you get a bike, right, you
just you have to push, But when you go up,
he'll a bit. Yes, it's going to take a bit
out of you. Yes, just letting you know, that's exactly,
but saying it so that it's assuming that you wouldn't
know that.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
The exact vibe is that she's telling her rich friends
how to behave like a peasant. But the show is
made for peasants and we all know how to do that.
Does that make sense? That's the premise of this show.
But at the same time you kind of watch it
and feel a bit bad because you know she decants everything.
So I'm like feeding my kid baked beans on a
Saturday night, and I'm thinking, should I take it out
(04:00):
of the can and put it into like a mason
jar for him or should I just hand it to
him with the.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Spoon like I do, and like hand him the can.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
And like when I have guests over it, because you
know what, I love having guests. You do, yes, but
this is the effort I go to, and so maybe
I should have a show.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I walk into the spare room, I pulled the sheets back.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
I make sure there's no hairs from anyone else, and
I give it a bit of a sniff and I
go there, you go, stay the night.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Well, I apologize to guests that are actually going to
turn up that may have been my hair.
