we'd cover it off again and give you an opportunity,
opportunity to chime in. So basically leaders have called for
Southeast queens they had to become known simply as Brisbane

Yeah, we have a unique identity, and so does the
Sunshine Coast. So they're talking about the region Southeast Queensland.
So they're talking Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich
as well.

Ipswich is like, we'll do it, Yeah, take us in.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
And they're kind of saying that that that population is
going to be bigger than what Sydney was combined. Well,
of course it is. It's three cities, four cities rolled
into one. So I think you're clutching its straws there.
But they're trying to say that opportunities for marketing the
region and all of those sorts of things are way bigger.
But like Experience Gold Coasts and everything tourism Gold Coast

aren't going to be turning around saying it's going to
be better for this region to be known as Brisbane.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
I feel it's damaging. I understand why. I can understand
the conversation because they're having to utilize our facilities, Sunshine
Coast facilities, et cetera to create this games. It's very unique.
No other city's ever done this before, had a bid,
won it and then gone oh, but by the way,
we don't have all the facilities, so we're going to
have some in this town, some in this town, and
some in this town. So they're trying to tie it

up in a bow. But the thing is in the
future people are going to think they're booking a trip
to Brisbane and they're going to go, where's the beach
on the beaches here?

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It is confusing. I think get to the.

Brown River and be like do we swim in that?
Where are the flags?

Well? No, they'll go to the little South bank didn't
look like this in the broch when.

They filmed it really creatively, didn't they.

Wow, they go from this place and they swim to
cool and gatter in a thing called cool and gatter gold.
How do they do that? So yeah, they're pretty much
talking about Brisbane being the title and Brisbane being the
main place, and just all the others consist file underneath.
It's just it's it's misrepresentation. It's and it's taking away

our history. It's taking away our identity.

Correct ridiculous identity theft. It's city identity theft, it actually is.

Does that mean they get into all their bank accounts?

All right, give us a call, would you for the
greater results for these people saying that it's going to
be better to market the place. Should we be called
Brisbane or should we just remain the same.

Do you think these are lazy advertising executives? Yes, they're
just like, oh, it's too clunky to go well this
is the Gold Coast, Well this is a Sunshine Coast,
Well this is Ipswich.

That's three different ads.

I think they're just trying to say every other one's
been a city. Can we just call it Brisbane, so
it's easy, but then they have to justify it.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yes, and just remember things start subliminally, right. They'll do
this now and then ah, they won't change it back
and next minute we will be Brisbane.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
No, we are not Brisbane. We are not We're never
going to be Brisbane.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
How it happens with everything. I never thought I would
wear sneakers with high heels, and I did. I'm just saying,
we don't like the idea at first, and then we
get used to it, so we have to fight. Now.
