This has been. We were talking about doubling up at
the movies the other day Aloe and I and I said,
have you ever gone and just had a movie day
where you go to one session and then you stay
at the movies for the day and you just go
to another session? You know what I mean? You keep
buying tickets and you keep going to movies.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I've never done that, but I have a girlfriend that's
done it. Yeah, it's so much doing it.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
It's like I haven't done it in a long time.
But at any given point in my life, I've gone
it's a day to day and it's a movie. I'm
just going to stay at the cinema.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
She loves it and talks about how great it is
to just walk into any movie one after the other.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
It's a complete escape, and especially if it's at that
time of the year where there's a lot of good
ones showing you go, I'm going to just knock these
bad boys out all in a row. But then we
were talking and I came up with this question, if
nobody's in the theater, do they still play the movie?
Because we got to the stage where we were talking,

I said that he'd been to one movie when he
doubled up and he was the only person in the cinema.
That means they're playing the movie for one person.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
So then is there a moment when they go, oh,
if they don't play it one person that's.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Bought that, we've got to honor it.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Or do they just play it and you know there's
late comers and whatever, but they just play it.

What if there's someone that comes at the very last minute,
That's what I mean.

up the phones. It's a simple question, but I don't
know whether a lot of people actually have put a
lot of thought in this who cares sort of question?

But do you want the actual answer or you just
want people's thought process of if they do or don't.
Because I'm thinking, if they play it, they've got to
pay royalties.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
Wouldn't they. So then why would you want to pay
royalties if no one's watching it.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Unless it's not per play and loyalty distribution might be
just based on this is the deal. You've got the movie,
do what you want with it.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
Yeah, you can play it as many times as you want.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
It might be on session times, so I know what
they do in the movie.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Interesting, royalties work off per stream, right, so maybe a
movie's per ticket, So if they haven't sold the tickets
that have paid royalty, maybe I don't.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Know, it's some one that actually knows.

Speaker 1 (02:17):

with the question. Right, So if no one's in the theater,
does the theater company still play the movie?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, the other thing is is that the person that's
paid to run the movie. So then if no one's
paid to go in, but that person's been paid to
run the movie and sit in the room, you can't
cancel their shift.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
But it has time moved on. Is there a person
that doesn't sit in the room anymore? Is it automated?
I don't know anymore.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
I don't know.

I remember keep thinking that would have been the coolest
job in the world to get that.
