Speaker 1 (00:00):
Look, I loved watching Mike Tyson fights when he was
in his prime. You know, one of the youngest ever heavyweight.
I think he was the youngest heavyweight world champion of
all time. And I just saw a thing going through
all the money that he made at such a young
age and then lost and then made some again. But

(00:21):
we're talking about he's worth, however, many million before this fight,
whereas once upon a time when he was younger, he
was worth over three hundred million and then was losing
it obviously, went to jail, got into a lot of
trouble for time, a lot of things. Then when he's
on the hangover, remember, and he started coming back and

(00:41):
he's had his medicinal marijuana brand and all that sort
of stuff happening for him. So I think he was
worth between five and ten million dollars before this fight.
And then from making the deal with Logan Paul, who
promoted the fight as well as fording it, he was
guarantee a person they say, twenty million dollars. Logan Paul

(01:04):
got the forty million dollars Netflix. It's the first time
that they've put something like this to air as a
free too wear So you didn't have to pay for
it unless you're already you know, if you hadn't subscribed,
you could have subscribed and joined to watch the fight.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
They clever, aren't they different stuff?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Over sixty million people worldwide watched it. Yeah, Netflix have
come out with the figures. That's a lot successful. And
they also did some specials leading up to the fight.
So they did two sort of I think maybe three
episodes of a documentary going into the fight. So they
made shows out of it as well.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I think it's a great for people.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
To watch, and it's interesting. I mean, you're watching a
guy that's got not a boxing background that he's only
fought one professional fighter. All the others are MMA fighters
that they can strike, but they're not boxers and ex
basketballers and other YouTubers and all that sort of stuff.
So that's easy. Well, jas the kid first, wasn't he
I think he was a Disney channel something like that

(02:02):
before YouTube even so it.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Was it was Jake Paul that fo Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, no Jake yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
So yeah, so the logan didn't do a fight at all.
He wasn't on the card.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
No, No, he wasn't on there at all.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Right, yeah, gotcha.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
So we said Mark Tyson said maybe after is he
done fighting? He said at one stage, maybe I'll fight
your brother. So that was the only throwaway, okay about that.
This was Mike Tyson after the fight.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
You know, fifty eight, A lot of people thought you
shouldn't be here. A lot of people thought you'd be
done and dusted in the first round. Do you feel
like you proved the world wrong that you could at
least go eight rounds with a younger man.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I don't feel nothing to anybody. I wanted to myself.
I'm not one of the guy that looks to leave
the world. I'm just happy with what I can do.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
So the fight was meant to be mid year, and
then he had to pull out for health reasons, and
it turns out it was an ulcer. Now just postfight,
it turns out he needed blood transfusion and nearly died. Right,
So that was in June. So he actually thinks from
fighting getting himself fit again. Yes, one of the reasons
why he was looking forward to the fight and everything

(03:11):
was the process of getting fit from after he got sick.
So he's pretty much standing there saying I've won twenty
million dollars and I did this and I'm healthy and
my kids have seen me work my way through.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
There was a famous quote from him that I saw
circulating over the weekend, and it was something like, I
get up every morning at four o'clock and I run
five six kilometers. And if my find out my competitor
is getting up.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
At four o'clock, I'll get up at three o'clock.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
And if I find out they get up at three o'clock,
I'll get up at two o'clock.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
I always want to be better than my competitors.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
That would have been probably when he was a younger man.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
Yes, it was that, but he just has that champion
mindset to still think that I'm just about to die
and need some sort of medical thing.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
But I can get over that. His mindset's powerful.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
He's a child of trauma, like he's upbringing people of
only come out and said that you wouldn't want to
be have the upbringing that he.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Hadn't all sad. I couldn't stop looking at his nipples though.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Did you see them hang your set of keys on them?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Oh my god, it was like they were saying to
Jake Paul, look down here.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
They were like mine. Before I went and saw doctor
late a disraction.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Maybe No, I didn't watch his nipples that much, but
I saw I saw him, he's trailing T shirt. I
saw him training, and it just looked so more lethal
when he was on the pads than what he was
in the ring.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Good though, yeah, yeah, but put some punches.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
In ninety eight to like hundreds and hundreds and hundreds.
It's become a little bit bit of a joke for
everyone to watch, and a lot of disappointment. So we
thought we'd open the phones up and ask what people
genuinely thought. Was it a good event? Did you still watch?
The whole stadium was packed, seventy two thousand people went.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Do you look at his nipples like I did?

Speaker 1 (05:01):
That can be the question. If you notice even nipples,
that would be good. Jake Paul's next fights against Clint
Eastwooshes

Speaker 2 (05:08):
