Speaker 1 (00:00):
I was catching up with one of the girls here
at work at the coffee machine yesterday, and she lives
right near where most of the tram workers being done
at the moment where I can't remember the name of
the coffee shop, but one Hot Tomatoes Best.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Coffee, so that's the it is. Yeah, so that coffee
shop there is.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
So anyway, so Kathie lives there and she I said
to her, you look nice today, and she went nearly
been ruined by the rain. I said, what do you mean,
why do you get ruined? I'd run back home and
get my umbrella. And I was like, what you have
to run back home? Can you just drive out of
your driveway? And she said, no, I can't park in
my driveway. I can't drive on the street at the
moment it's all been shut for the tram lines.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I have to park a.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Couple of blocks away, as does everybody else on the
street there.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
And I was like, that's a bit that's a bit
sucky because.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
You can't park on your own driveway and you can't
park in your own street.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Is there any rate reprieve or anything for you during
this time?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Because if I was in council, that's something I would
offer the people in that area as a thank you
for I guess, putting up with all of that for
the benefit of the city.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
And she laughed and she said, no.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Not only have we not got any rate reprieve, but
also we've had a rate rise.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Oh so they've gone up. Yes, Wow, you are jo
just caring for a car park around the corner.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I said, that's right, So that's a bit outrageous because
that's what rates are meant to pay for, for us
to have the luxury of those sorts of things. And
then she said, oh, but what did happen is someone
went and did a door knock and we all got
a ten dollar coffee voucher.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Well, at least it's near the street corner espresso coffee
shot that won the Cafe of Year for the Gold
Coast Coffee.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Don't you think, like if I was in counseled, that's
something that I would offer people of that area.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
All along the strip there a little bit of rate
reprieve for the while the dramline's going in.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Here's something for you. If it's all closed down and
you can't even park there when you put your rubbishirt,
do you have to put your rubbish bins around the corner.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Are you walking all around?
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Good lord, that's another ten dollars coffee.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
At least.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Exactly.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
You'd sip slow, slowly on that coffee, Wouldn't you want
to make it last?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
It'd be a week long sip.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Anyway, we're thinking of you, guys, because now that I
know that, I'm outraged for you.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Gaien Jae.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Whant it it I on hot tomato
