Speaker 1 (00:00):
Brian, good morning, Hey, how are you going?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Okay, let's talk Miami Maketta. Have you performed there before?

Speaker 1 (00:06):
The Familiar? So I think we have.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
You are gonna love it. They have these Calzone pizzas
please please try one, and then they had Lamington's the size.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
Of your head.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
They're pretty good too, and the Paela is amazing, Like, honestly,
you're going to have to make time to eat the
food there.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Just have it for eating.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
You just have it after the gig. Mate, you don't
want to perform.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Bloating may not maybe not on stage, may not be good.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
Everyone will say, you know, funny fact about Pseudo Echo
they started playing with the top button of their pants underone.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
But yeah, you're celebrating forty years since your debut album.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I know, my god, forty years. Where did that go?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
You tell us? I mean, do you do you remember
it all? I mean you were in the sort of
the heydays of all the partying and all that kind
of stuff. It's very different backstage now everyone has cups
of green tea.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Yes, yeah, including us. Yes, so you say that, yeah, yeah,
it sounds changed a bit. I mean we're a bit
more civil these days, and you know, we sort of
do weekend shows for the tour and then we come
back home and just relax for was rather than just
do the epic tour NonStop.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Butt look, just a little bit of nostalgia. You were
one of the bands, like when we were all growing
up through the eighties and nineties, are you one of
the bands that had a bit of success overseas? And
we were. I remember as Australians were also proud of
any artist that actually charted or did well or made
appearances on TV shows in America and overseas, and Sudo

(01:40):
Echo were one of those. The Dick Clark Show and
Joan Rivers.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
And like Top of the Pops. I know, my god,
what was it like? Mate? Cool? It was great. It
was surreal, like meeting good Clark. I just was so overwhelmed.
I couldn't believe this guy, you know. And then Joan
Rivers was a riot, was fantastic and had Joan van
Arke was a guest on the show with us, and
it was it was surreal. We did some we even

(02:06):
appeared in some like TV series over there, so it
was yeah, it was it was next level stuff.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
So what other countries other than Australia. Did you really
chart well in because sometimes we speak to artists and
it's like, oh my god, we were number one in Sweden,
you know what I mean, Like.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Well, funny you should say that we were number one
in Sweden.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
We never won in Sweden, Greece and Canada. And the
extended mix of Something Down was number one in the
US and I think the single was number six, so
we we didn't look it did amazing business for us.
It was all through Europe. It was charting, and South
Africa was charting. It was it was, yeah, it was.

(02:48):
It was blitzed place.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
And now you've done a remix for the fortieth year,
I believe.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Yeah, we remixed listening so far, we've done the Machine
remix for that and we're sort of attempting to do
a whole album of remix but time is always against
us because we're on the road a lot. But yeah,
that's that's the plan.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
And do you is there anyone you'd want to collaborate
with or any young artists now that you're like, I
wish they would do a remix or something with.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah. Absolutely, I mean a lot of bands I've been
following these sort of synth wave bands probably the mainstream
wouldn't know Dance with the Dead or Rack and Robert Parker.
I love Tami Parler Kevin Parker as well, and I
just think that that's the plan. I'm going to reach

(03:34):
out to a few of these artists and collaborations and
co production and things like that.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
That's exciting looking forward to it first.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Yeah, it'll be fun because I think when I listen
to these bands, I can hear I already insist there.
I can hear their influences are in the eighties firmly,
and here I am being influenced by them. So it's
kind of a circle.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
So catch completely.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, well it's fantastic. Look, so everyone grab your tickets
if you haven't already. Psetero Echo doing Miami Marketta on
Saturday night. It's going to be great night.

Speaker 3 (04:05):

chance to win double five seven, one, one oh two nine.
