Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, Gold Coast. One tonight, Hot Tomato, we Gaily and
Emily Jade. It is the annual giving day of the
Gold Coast Hospital Foundation. Were Gaile in Emily Jade broadcasting
right now and Hot Tomato all day live from the
Gold Coast University Hospital.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
And I'm not going to be able to deal with
continually looking at the tally board. It's at fifty three thousand,
two hundred and eighty two dollars.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
We're rounded up again.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Please go ghost. I blame John Collisure. He's just made
a donation of six hundred and sixty six dollars. What
are you doing to me? It's probably a lucky number,
but you're giving me the unevens.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
It's on the old six sixty six drives passed with
some horns coming out of his head. John, it might
be all of your head anyway. Listen, we have a
relationship with this Gold Coast Hospital because we are Gold
Coasters and we are one hundred per cent local. At
Hot Tomato, one of the things we do is Gaily

(00:52):
to the rescue to help Gold Coasters who need a
little bit of help. And one of the people we
helped a couple of years ago was a friend of ours,
Richard Wells, and we were working it for Wells. You
remember he had a terrible accent where he fell off
the roof at home and then we had to raise
money at out the front of Subaru as a wavyman.
I was a wavyman for twenty four hours.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
But Richard, we first saw him here.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
It was two years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Two years ago we saw him roll out.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
You'd only just woken up almost from your coma and
you came to You couldn't even speak. Your beautiful wife
spoke on your behalf, and here you are two years later.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You look amazing.

Speaker 5 (01:32):
Yeah, I feel good. I'm really impressed with where I've
got to. Yeah, and it's only going to get better
from here.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
You're so lucky to be alive, I know truly, madam.
You nearly died what seven or eight times? Yeah, six
or seven times. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
They had met calls on me that they were going
to turn the switch off a couple of times.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
And fifty six days in ICU, fifty six days in
a coma. Yep. Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:56):
Hey.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
We were just talking before about the nick who and
research that a midwife there, Kobe Best, is doing. It's
called sense and it's all about playing the mother's voice
to these little premie babies. Did you hear people talking
to you? Because I know there was a steady stream
of people that were around the clock coming in to
spend time with you.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
I'd love to say yes, but I don't recall anyone
talking to me. But I do sense there were people
around me.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Is it a question A lot of people ask you. Yeah,
A lot of people ask me that.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
I just say, or do you do you remember anything
in the camera, And I say, well, no, I don't,
but I do sense there were there were people around me.
The odd time I'd squeeze someone's hand and do things
like that. It'd make a difference every now and then.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
So when Pardo came in and he was seeing you,
and he said that you smiled at him, you just
had wind.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Exactly just like a baby in the nicking exactly exactly
what he claimed that It was him as he would
but I would have.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Don't blame him. I hope this gets back. That's good
to know.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Though.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
You often wonder if people can hear, you know, in
a coma and things like that.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
But Richard, is there anything like obviously we're here on
giving day with the foundation and we're raising money. Is
there anything that you'd like to say to everyone to donate,
but also to the team that looked after you in
the ICU.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Yeh, Look, I cannot thank you the Gold Coast Hospital
and enough they I was in in ten and a
half months. They looked after me every step of the way.
There were probably five months where I really didn't know
where I was. And so whatever you do, whatever anyone does,
please donate money to the Gold Coast Hospital because they

(03:45):
deserve more than you can focus the gap.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Ye yeah, Richard, it's great to see you, mate, and
go the pies. Is that what you were whispering? Do
you support Richard Collingwood Group.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
How many people came and whispered in his ear other teams,
and he was like, I'm going to sleep a little
bit longer now.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
They're the ones who didn't hear. He just heard the one. Anyway, look,
we're here all day.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
We're going to hang around. All the beautiful volunteers are
taking your calls right now.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
They're here.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
They're in bright orange, and we've got to salute all
the volunteers. Five six, double six, double five, double five
is the number to donate GC, Donate dot org. Dot
au is where you can go online.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
All the Things Live is coming in next but don't
forget Casey Barnes later on this afternoon. He's playing live
here after three o'clock with Moira and Trev.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
And so maybe tram it in or bust it in
because the car parks will.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Be full today.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Anyway, Today a busy day here.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
But have a great day everyone.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Thank you for your donations already, except for John Collisia
for his six six six, because you just keep putting
the balance out up there on the screen.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
I'm still grateful John. We love you JOHNN. And we
love you Jewelry too. I love it even more. Bye everyone,
gay bye

Speaker 4 (05:08):

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
