Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, Shepherd's Collective.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Hey, we miss you.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
How's Nashville?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yeah, we miss you guys too.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Nashville is amazing. We literally just got back. We've been
driving for the last nine hours and we just hit
the ground.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
So we've gotten home. We're so excited to be back.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
And yeah, it to release this album finally.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Now it's called Zora and that's named after your grandma,
Is that right?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Yeah, it is a bit of a story behind it,
but it's you know, pretty much. We released the last album,
Calidas Go By, during February twenty twenty one, which is
like right in the thick of lockdowns and COVID, and
we unfortunately couldn't tour the album. We couldn't go out
and see our bands. And you know, the best part
of releasing an album is getting out there and being
able to see the smiling faces and people singing your

(00:46):
music back to you, and we didn't get any of
that with the last album. And it was kind of like,
you know, for a number of reasons, it was a
very dark time for our family, and we.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Started writing this album, you know, out of a need
for a beacon of hope, you know, something to make
us steel better and you know, a lot of the
songs were about you know, holding on through the darkness
and waiting for the sunrise and you know, resilience and
a new dawn, rebirth, that kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
And you know, through all of this, we were kind
of inspired by our grandma Zora, who you know, she's
had a very tough life and it was very sort
of turbulent with you know, being an immigrant moving from Yugoslavia,
which was you know, war torn at the time, and
she never saw her family again, married her husband and
he passed away from lung cancer, leaving her with seven

(01:36):
children to.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Raise on her own.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
And she's just had this really kind of rough life
and she still manages to be the happiest person that
we know, and she lights up every room with this
brilliant smile, and you know, we kind of took a
lot of inspiration from her during the writing of this album,
and so when it came time to name the album,
we were like, let's pay homage to Bubba and her
Croatian heritage, and we typed into Google Translate we just

(01:57):
said Dawn, what's Dawn in Croatia And no joke, it
came up and it was her name.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Zora.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Zora means dawn in Croatia.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Whoa.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
So we had this real, this goose pump moment of
serendipity and coincidence and the name had essentially chosen us,
and it was this really beautiful moment.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
How's your life over there? And what are you missing
and what are you noticing? I'm addicted to following you
guys on Instagram and we're living vicariously through you.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
I think moving over was really hard for us, leaving everything.

Speaker 5 (02:31):
We know, leaving mom behind, dad and all of that,
all of our friends, and then we came into winter
and that was actually a pretty tough time as well,
because we didn't really know.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
What our future held. But now it's summer and we
are touring first tour in six years throughout the States,
and it was so much fun. Yeah, really loving all
the opportunities that are coming our way now.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
And we're doing it all ourselves, which has been really special.
You know, we've got no crew members.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
It's literally just the three of us and our two
band members and then our three partners, so my wife Kathleen,
Amy's husband Lockey, Emma's husband Liam, you know, they're all
tour managing being crew, being guitar, text, selling, merch just
kind of we're doing it all as a family together
and learning as we go, which has been exhausting, but
honestly the most rewarding experience I think we've had in

(03:22):
a long time.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Can we just take a moment, Emma, how good is
it to say my husband since you only recently got married?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I know, I still struggle. I still call him my
boyfriend when he is there. The best best husband ever,
and he's really helped us greatly.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
On this tour.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Second best husband ever.

Speaker 6 (03:44):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
How much are you guys siblings at war? And are
you guys still when you first moved over you were
all living like in apartments side by side. Is that
still the setup?

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
We are actually currently in my apartment, which is the middle.
We're still here, but I think we're going to look
at getting a house all together. Stop it when you
tour a lot. Yeah, yeah, it's just like when you
tour a lot, you're not really in the play place
that much. And we're a bit over the apartment living and.

Speaker 5 (04:14):
Well that's good.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Now we can come over and stay, so it's about time,
that's right exactly.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Well, look, it's so good to connect and we're just
so proud of you and wish the best for you always.
