Speaker 1 (00:00):
Melanie, good morning, make way for the president.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Morning you are, good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Don't be a sweary president Donald Trump.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Never never.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
So how's it all going.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's going great. We've been here since the early hours
of this morning, so sunshine is outside and blue sky.
We're looking fantastic.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
So it's having fun.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
All the art's been handed and judged today. It's like
cakes and stuff being handed in, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
That's right, cakes and slices and flowers and fruit and
all that kind of stuff today.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Oh my gosh, so nonperishable. Oh you're going to just
have a great day of the perishable.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I should say.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
So.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Look, we're sort of skirting around the subject, but our
art has been judged. We saw pictures of all of
our competition, and we know this is not going to
be an easy conversation.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
We are very lucky because you know, the rest of
the world doesn't get to find out the results until
very early on Saturday morning, so you're in a privileged position.
I have got the inside gos for you. So our
judges took a very long time to deliberate over our
novice class section which you have both entered.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
And how many were in the novice class.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
How many people there was about eight in your novice class? God, yeah,
they were pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Can you describe some of the pictures that were painted?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Well, because we've got a generalized novice class, we had
everything from landscapes to dogs to portraits. There's some very
impressive work in there.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
There's some very impressive work in there that's good.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Han a lot of work that's maybe had a lot
of comments about it too. There's been a lot of
pointing fingers.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I want to know what it feels like to be eighth,
so you should let me know. How do we go?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Well, you'll be very pleased to hear Emily j that
you were very highly commended, so you'd have received a
highly commended and a ribbon. You have a ribbon and
a certificate and Gaily, we're going to give you an
encouragement award.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
You know what, I don't believe in those. I can
participation awards a crap. It's not a participation.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
It's it's encouraging because you can keep going and you
can hone your craft and maybe we'll get at some
point where we can recognize the picture as to who
it actually was that you did.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
It'll be someone someone said, Meryl Streep more than EJ.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Wow, Well you look at you painting a grate.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
Can you rejudge it and just say it was Meryl Streep?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
The judge's decision is final, ge, all right, okay, look.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
And so obviously you can tell us for highly commended
an eighth, but you don't want to reveal who the
winners were. They've got to find out on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Is that right?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
That's absolutely right. So we've even put people in here
this morning, tried to sneak a peek inside the pavilion
to see where those blue ribbons are, but not yet,
we need to wait until Saturday.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
What colors EJ's ribbon, pink ribbon, it's my favorite color.
That's perfect, I reckon.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
I'm going to put the pictures up of all of
the entries.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I reckon.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
It's the drawing of the girl with the blue butterflies
on her eyes that was outstanding. She's got to be
the winner in my eyes.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
All right, Well, that you'll know your people's choice that one.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Am I a novice next year? If I enter, I.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Reckon, no, then you've got to mix it with the pros.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
For yet another encouragement award, no.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Doubt, that's okay. It's all about that, isn't it. It's
about enjoying it and being part of it. And we
thank you both very much, and yours are taking pride
and place in our pavilion this morning.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Well, we're happy to help you guys. It's a wonderful organization.
You've been supporting our community for years and we wanted
to support you all back.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
So thank you, thank you, and you guys have a
good day. We look forward to seeing you at the show.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
I just got a text from my daughter, Yeah, what'd
you say? Encouragement Award and then cry laughing faces.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I wonder how many highly commend Like there's first, second, third,
and then there was five left.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
I wonder if it's like four highly commended
