Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lorrain, good morning, good morning. How are you are well?
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
You have some news for us, Lorraine.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
Yes, somebody dropped it back.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Oh I can hear the emotion. Is it really recently?
Has it just happened like today this morning?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I know it. So when they dropped it back to
the to the gravesite.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
It was in her lock box, just sitting in there.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Oh wow, So someone has finally heard your message and
done the right thing.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Thank you. Oh, just thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
So what happened? Did someone alert you to it? How
did you know it was there?

Speaker 3 (00:43):
No, my husband went up to see her on his
way home from work and he founded up there then.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
So I could have been there for a little while.
When was the last time you were there?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I was there on Friday, and David was there on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
So so Sunday and then.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Have you got it now?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
I've got it in my hands as we speak.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
What are you going to do now? Are you going
to put it back in the lock box or do
you think it's safer with you?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
It's safer with us.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Good.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
I can't put it back up. It's not worth the
risk again. No, you know, like we'll probably put like
a little Spirit Horse because she loved the cartoon spirit
So we'll probably put something special like that, but something
that's not Yeah, if it gets taken, it's here or

(01:34):
there where this was so it meant so much to
us as a family.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
So I just you might be able to frame that
one up that you've got so that it's still in
a special spot at home.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Yeah. Well that's what David and I were talking about.
We're sort of going to like get a little like
a Perspex box of some sort lame keeper with all
her her little trinket stuff that she's got here at home.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Idea, Lorraine, Isn't it sad though that you have to
think about what to put in the box that it
doesn't matter if it gets stolen, how disrespectful of people,
But to the person who's returned it, however that has happened.
You didn't want anyone to get in trouble. So we
got that message out there. So well done on doing
the right thing.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
In the end, I'm just very grateful, you know, as
you know, I was really hurt and angry when it
was done. But I am so very very grateful to
everyone that put the word out there and whoever did
drop it back. You don't realize how much it means
to us as a family that at home also.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Someone has a conscience.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
That's right, And Lorraine, is it in good Nick hasn't
been damaged.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
No, it looks very similar like, yeah, it's I mean,
it's obviously been a long time since I've actually held
it in my hand because basically, as I said in
the previous it was on her final beat and then
it went back in its box, and then when her
lockbox was there, we placed it into their sort of thing.

(03:07):
So I really haven't held you know. So it's yeah,
but now it won't go anywhere, and you've.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Got it to pass down now as well, which is
what you wanted to do.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
It's yeah, crush making me, cried to Lorraine. We are
so glad this has had a happy ending. I mean,
I've got to say I had no hope for you, Lorraine.
I thought someone will panic and throw it somewhere and
it will be unfindable. So this is another good news
story out of the Gold Coast today. The girl steering

(03:43):
the bus to safety yesterday and saving all those kids,
and this today, the Gold Coast is blessed today, Yes.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Very much. I kept asking Baba sid baba, please send
it home to mommy and look at home like it's
I'm just I'm speechless, like I am just so grateful
and I yees super super grateful that at time.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Thank you so much for letting us know it's a
privilege to be a part of this journey with you
as well.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Thank you, thank you for everything. I do appreciate it.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
