Alles begann mit einem Moderationswettbewerb, an dem Beni Thurnheer gegen Ende seines Jurastudiums teilnahm. Runde für Runde setzte er sich durch und gewann schliesslich. Trotzdem schloss der Winterthurer zunächst sein Lizenziat in Rechtswissenschaften ab und hätte danach doktorieren sollen.
Doch das Leben hielt andere Pläne bereit: Beni wurde Sportmoderator und ist seither aus der Geschichte der Schweizer Sportberichterstattung nicht mehr wegzudenken. Jahrzehntelang berichtete er von den grössten Sportevents rund um die Welt.
Im Gespräch mit Chantal und Amélie Galladé blickt er auf seine bewegte Karriere zurück und teilt seine prägendsten Erlebnisse. Was würde Beni heute anders machen? Bereut er etwas in seinem Leben?
Neben seiner Leidenschaft für den Sport brennt Beni für die Philosophie. Er hat ein Buch verfasst, in dem er mit grossen Philosophen in einen fiktiven Dialog tritt und ihre Konzepte auf die Fragen der heutigen Zeit anwendet.
