We'll be breaking down some of the best upcoming titles, including Baldur's Gate 3, WrestleQuest, Stray, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and why we are particularly stoked about the narrative elements of these games.

But that's not all! Brace yourself for an immersive chat as we dive into the eerie world of Alisa, a game we believe is a homage to Resident Evil on the PlayStation. We'll dissect its chilling puppets, uncanny mechanical dolls, and the entrancing opening sequence that harks back to the original Resident Evil.

We're not done yet! We'll shine a light on the Antstream Arcade, getting into the nitty-gritty of its daily and weekly challenges, leaderboards, and tournaments. You'll get a kick out of our review of Diablo 4 and Pokemon Sleep; we even have a funny story about an unexpected incident that happened during "gameplay".

So, gear up, tune in, and let the games begin!

You two can also not the band, but you, the listener, can also

You two can too.

(01:49):
Yeah, they want to join.
I mean, if they wanted to, sure, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, we're not going to.
We don't discriminate.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
I can tell how fair is it if you two joined our
Patreon at a high enough tierwhere they wanted a handwritten
letter.
I might not have the kinds ofthings to say because I'm not a
huge YouTube fan.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Oh, wow, okay.
Well, we're going to packagethat in a little bit, but yeah,
$5 will actually get you asigned welcome letter from our
president and CEO of Gamerhead.
So, and if that's not enough, you actually entered in for a
drawing.
Each one, we do a drawing, it'sjust that it's dispensable.
Yeah, yeah, this one's, we'regiving it.

(02:25):
It's a bit size-to-spensablesilence.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, I'm so excited to hear about what the drawing
is.
Yeah, yeah, I'll be quiet, Goahead.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, no, no, it's fine.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
It's for a $20 gift card to a council or a steam
shop of your choice.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
So are we still classifying the switch as a
console?

Speaker 1 (02:45):
So listeners, feel free to support us, support the
show.
Okay, so end of the month.
I know Phil's going to be weirdbecause it's not really the end
of the month, but it is the endof the month when this show
releases.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Oh God, we're doing the time travel thing again.
Yeah, this is crazy.
So looking ahead to the monthof August, I guess we're just
jumping into this right away.
Yeah, why not?
I didn't pay attention to thegreen room.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Okay, okay, well, classic, yeah.
So let's talk about, like, ourtop two or three games that are
most looking forward to Mike.
I'll start with you, so Philhas some time to catch up.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
I'm fucking prepared, man.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Catch up, Mike.
What interests you the mostnext month?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Oh sure, I could defer to Phil if he wants.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I was way more prepared than that.
I even took notes.
Wow, wow.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Wow Okay, Phil.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
So, according to my notes, I've got Baldur's Gate 3,
potentially just because I'mnot sure if I'll be done with
Diablo yet Russell Quest yeahStray, coming out on the Xbox.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Are you going to play that when it comes on the Xbox?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
I really might.
Just because I own a couple ofcats and so their entire
lifestyle, I'd say it fascinatesme, but I've seen a lot of
butts being licked so it's notall that fascinating.
But I'd like to see a cat goingon a quest for something other
than trying to get the nuggetsout of their butthole.
But outside of that also TexasChainsaw Massacre.
I don't really know much aboutit, but I watched a trailer for
it and it kind of intrigued me,just because it's horror based

(04:40):
and I do love myself some whores.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, oh, wow, yeah Okay.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
There's actually some horror elements and Stray from
what I understand.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
That's what I hear too, and I also hear the story
is quite touching and God, Ilove myself a touching story
because when I play games it'sthe number one thing I pay
attention to is story.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yeah, I know, because when we play Diablo together,
you're like, hey, let's take ourtime.
Yeah, consume the story.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
No, that's not what you said at all.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
That doesn't sound like me.
I love the story.
They pay those writers reallygood money and they should be
rewarded and recognized for thework that they do in a game that
involves just killing endlesshordes of people and zombies and
a dead and monsters, becausethat's the important part.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yeah, Well, I will say in your defense this was
like the third or fourth time.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
You're like yeah, I don't skip through this, okay,
I'll you watch it, I'll, I'll,I'll just sit here.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
So, yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to in
August.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Nice Mike what about you?

Speaker 2 (05:46):
I'm going to copy a lot of what Phil said here.
I'm definitely interested in aRussell quest and I'm interested
in strays since I don't have aPS5 and Texas chainsaw massacre,
because it's developed by thesame group that brought us
Friday 13th, which I absolutelyloved.
In addition to that, I'mdefinitely going to get even
though I've played it to deathgoing to get vampire survivors

(06:09):
on the switch yes, that's right, the switch and then blasphemous
to looks interesting.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Oh, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
That's less of a roguelike and more of a
Metroidvania.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Yeah, have you played the first one.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Nope, that's in my backlog though.
Okay, yeah, I heard it.
I heard it's what.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
I heard it's hard.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Yeah, it's pretty challenging, you can try it out
because I have it on the Xbox.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Oh, you do.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, you sound so excited to do that too.
All over it, yeah.
And then, finally, I'minterested in Sea of Stars.
That looks really good.
It's kind of like a what isthat?
Like a chrono trigger almost.
Yeah, as you can say it's finalold school final fantasy type

(07:03):
game.
But they confirmed there'sgoing to be a physical release
so I might not purchase it.
I might just wait for thephysical.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Okay, Were you putting down?
Why were you thumbing downVampire Survivors?
I thought you liked that game,Phil.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
He wasn't thumbing down the game.
I do like the game.
It's not the game man, it's theshits.
I mean the switch, it's theplatform, all right.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
So for myself, Baldur's Gate 3, for sure
Wrestle Quest as well, I willsay Everspace 2 looks really
good.
I liked the show.
That-.
What is Everspace?
What is that?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Ring of Bell.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
So the first one is on Xbox, it's a space shooter,
and then I think, this one itlooks just like a lot more
explosions, yeah, ooh, like aMichael Bay game.
Yeah, exactly, it looks amazing.
And then Sea of Stars for sureis the game Sure and Survivors

(08:09):
on the Switch as well.
And wow, I said two or three, but I'm going to say one more.
And Goodbye, volcano High.
I'm really excited about thatgame too.
That one Joe versus the VolcanoKind of Kind of.
Now it's about these dinosaursthat are going to high school
and they're going to die.
There's predictions that theirworld is going to be destroyed

(08:31):
and it's about how they handleit.
Like they're talking dinosaurs.
They're not.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Real dinosaurs, but it's a it's a spinoff of that
show from the 90s dinosaurs.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah, it's all growing up.
They're all growing up now andthe baby's not the baby anymore.
Yeah, so I get to see that atpacks East and it looks really
cool.
So, so, anyway, listeners, letus know what you think are.
What are you most lookingforward to?
What do you think about thedinosaurs ending?
What are you most lookingforward to next month?
You can Drop us a line onTwitter or on Guess what we're

(09:08):
on, sky, sky.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Invitation.
You don't even know the name ofthe website blue blue sky.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
I got that, yeah, okay, I didn't even get the
invite from you, so don't evenmatter.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
The word president is not attached to nothing.
That's true.
I mean it means next to nothing, but it's attached to nothing.
Anyway, all right, let's showyou in third, mike, is that
what's happening?

Speaker 2 (09:38):
is what happening?
What are?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
you just called for me to steal.
Third, this is the problem withcameras.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
No, I'm just gonna be distracted, I gotta stare at
the wall.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I know squirrel fucking stark outside.
I can't even see the girls.
There was a guy in my backyardthe other day, so I'm not even
kidding when I say this.
I my morning ritual.
My morning ritual consists of,like, hanging out of the back
porch.
I Do whatever and I messedaround my cell phone and I drink
coffee and I hang out at theback porch say hi to all the
neighbors.
There's a guy that pauses.
He's in the middle of walkingthrough the backyard.

(10:10):
She was walking path and hegoes.
My god, that's one of thebiggest girls I've ever seen.
I'm like.
I'm well aware of the hugesquirrels in the neighborhood.
I point them out all the time.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
He believes me, did he point to you?

Speaker 3 (10:21):
No, did I kill the squirrels?
I don't fucking encourage them.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Whoa whoa.
Okay, I like our recording.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah, I, that's true.
I forgot about that's true.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
I'm gonna say you're the guy that, like can't use the
grill anymore because you killall squirrels.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Exactly, man, that's my point, like I don't actively
kill the squirrels, but theyjust have to be wrong place,
wrong time.
Entire family, anybody wants toknow shoot me a DM and I'll
tell you the full.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
That was the saddest.
And the mom this isn't the momsquirrel.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Broke my heart.
I had to go to Target for likethree hours.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
Oh my gosh.
Anyway, let's move on to gameswe're playing, shall we?
And Mike, I'll start with you.
What games are you playing?

Speaker 2 (11:09):
So I'll start off with the demos that I said I had
said I was gonna play, but thendidn't yeah.
The from the Xbox demo event.
So I downloaded marble it upultra and I was not a fan of it.
I Don't.
I like those monkey balls.
It's.
It's like a.
It's a monkey ball style game, but you're not tilting the

(11:29):
entire play world, you're justmoving the the marble from.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Kind of yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
It's 3d marble, madness I guess man this wasn't
well that that's more isometric?
This is more like behind behindthe ball behind the marble and
there's like power-ups and stuff.
You can make it jump or you canmake it like zoom fast and you
got to beat the clock and youknow you get three get stars
based on your time Wasn't bad.
But like I there was clippinglike I would go around the

(12:00):
corner and then, like they would, that thing would happen where
everything smears on the camera.
It was it, was it.
Just I didn't have really itwas just okay.
Like yeah, meh, I didn't reallyimpress me.
Good thing I played the demo.
Also.
Good thing I played the demo onthis game called Alisa, because

(12:23):
this.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Really like one right right.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
And this one had me smiling.
I actually might pick up thisgame it is.
It looks like it takes placemaybe during World War one,
world War two.
You play as a French Inspectoror or like a government official
, and she, she and her partnerget off this train.
This is what happens in thedemo.
You get off, your get off thetrain.
You're looking for somebody whostole blueprints for the enemy.

(12:51):
You find this person, you chasehim, you get knocked out and
you wind up in a house dressedlike Alice.
This, this game plays just likethe original Resident Evil.
You can choose between tankcontrols and updated controls.

(13:12):
But, oh my god, this thing, when you, when I say that this
is a love letter to PlayStationone games, that is.
That is an understatement.
Like the game is is in 4x3, soit's not you know.
So you got a box or whateverright the opening.

(13:35):
The opening is is terrible CGI,it's robotic CGI and it looks
like it was made in in 1996, thelet's see.
Oh, there's, there's.
There's an opening sequencewhere you know, everybody knows
the famous opening sequence inResident Evil where the zombie
like turns its head and you knowthere's a similar.

(13:56):
There's a similar scene in thisone, but instead of like
zombies, they're like it's likeclockwork dolls and yeah, and
you know, she and the voiceacting is terrible.
I'm, I'm hoping it's on purpose,hers, yeah, it's.
And so, like you know, there'sthere's Inventory management,

(14:18):
you know things like that, but ICame away very impressed with
this, with this demo, I was notexpecting it to be this good,
especially like, especially, considering how Resident Evil
like it is.
Yeah, so this one's on my radarnow.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
I would laugh really hard if, if the voice actors
were like that wasn't supposedto be bad yeah we were doing our
best.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
We're doing our best.
We're gonna pull our patronsupport.
Yeah, I was gonna give you $5.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
It's not anymore oh thank god, I had a cramp.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
That sounds really cool.
What is that game coming out toyou know, did it say.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
No, I didn't make it all the way through the demo.
It got to a point where andit's and it's creepy with
helping scary Okay, I like that.
So yeah, and I think I couldplay that I I left it off where
I killed now again.
Where I killed a mechanical doll.
And then I went into a room andI was talking to a hand puppet,

(15:25):
like in a wall, like you couldsee the arm, and it was almost
like people, the people underthe stairs, yeah style, like a
hole in the wall.
Then there's a hand puppet inthe hand puppet was talking to
her and I'm like, yeah, I thinkI'm good for now.
Yeah, huh.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
I'm looking at up and that's Eliza.
Eliza, was it called.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Lisa kind of kind of like Alice, but a.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Okay, huh, interesting, and we know.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
October.
Oh no, oh, it looks like arelease on.
Looks like a release on steam awhile ago.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Oh boo, is it coming to game pass, do you know?
Probably not, hmm.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
I'll look it up.
I'll get back to you sometime.
Stay tuned, people.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah, I was trying to see if I could find it, but no,
Anything else Would be.
Any other demos you're playingoh?

Speaker 2 (16:22):
yeah, no, I didn't play any other demos, but I did
play other games, so I hooked onthat.
Alisa, I played a little bitmore Diablo four.
I'm still very early into thegame, I just did you uninstall
it?

Speaker 1 (16:35):
You said you uninstalled it.
That was a joke.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Oh, jesus, okay, Okay .

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Really I did.
I actually felt bad, because Iwas like maybe this is why I
took the presidency from you.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Yeah, you fall for shit like that.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
That's true.
That's true.
I mean the moment that I signedup for that, that scam on the
email get 10,000 downloads quickof your podcast.
You're like.
That's it, you're done.
So yes, I didn't mean to cutyou off.
You are early on in the story, mike.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Yeah, I just got to the part where you're going
through that one dungeon withthe girl looking for her mother.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, phil, and.
I were doing that, that's right.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
That's right.
Roger just skipped this shit.
She's just looking for her mom, don't worry about it, I'll let
you know.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
When you get there you can watch that one, yeah, so
yeah, doing that, stillenjoying it.
You know, still fun chill gamefor me to play.
And then the real.
The one that I've been playinga lot of and, roger, you can
join me on this one is thatAntstream Arcade.
Yeah, I'm going to be writing areview for it.
I like this.

(17:49):
This is good.
I mean, this is for the priceYou're getting a lot for it yeah
so so and a lot of people likewill be turned off by this game
just because of one reason, andit's okay, it's, it's working
for me, so I'm not worried atall.
So Antstream Arcade isbasically it's a service.
You pay $30 a year or you pay$80 for a lifetime subscription,

(18:12):
and what it is it's 1400 gamesthat you have available to play
through the cloud and it's notlike you know Pong, here's Pong.
That's black and white andhere's Pong that's green and
black.
And here's Pong, that's red andblack.
No it's a whole bunch ofdifferent arcade games Super

(18:35):
Nintendo, sega, genesis.
There's some PlayStation onegames in there.
What else Amiga, commodore 64.
Grants had?
A lot of them are games thatI've never heard of.
That's like.
These are more like games thatwere popular over in in Europe,
not so much as in America, butthey've got some good games on

(18:56):
here, like I'm surprised withthe, with the quality of the
game.
So they've got Mortal Kombatone.
They've got.
I'm certainly happy that Namcois partnering up with them
because they've got Pac man, digDug, they got Gallagher, I
think they got Mappy.
You know all your basic Namcogames.

(19:16):
What else did they have?
See the PlayStation one gamesthey had loaded which I never
played before.
But that was.
That was kind of fun, I forget.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
It's kind of like Super Smash, right.
It does Super Smash Smash TV?
Yeah, it plays a lot like that.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
What else did I play?
Played Gallagher.
They have Smash TV.
Duh, yeah, smash TV is on theirrampage, so they work with, I
guess.
Whoever Midway is now, yeah, whoever owns the rights to the
Midway games, they're no halfway.
They're what.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
Nothing, I'm sorry Halfway.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
No, I get it.
That was funny.
It's right now, it's 11, 05.
I quit, you're too, you're yourfinger Anyway oh.
Metal Slug.
There's Neo Geo games on it.
There's no online multiplayer, there's only local, which is
totally fine, but the coolanother cool thing is they do
daily and weekly challenges.

(20:20):
That's cool Tournaments youcould.
There's leaderboards.
The other great thing is thisthing has been going on on PC
for a long time, so you canchoose between all time
leaderboards or just Xboxleaderboards.
So I was like, hey, I got thetop, I'm in the top 10 for
Mortal Kombat, so or there'slike there's challenges like in

(20:42):
Pac-Man how far, how many pointscan you get with only one life?
The thing about the challengesare, while they are cool,
there's not many variety.
There's not much variety.
All the challenges are like howfar can you get in one life?
Or how far, how many points canyou get in three minutes, and
that's about it.
So they need I think they needto get a little more creative
with the challenges, but whatthey've got here is actually
pretty fun and I'm telling youfor $30 for an entire year.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
It's not bad.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
Absolutely worth it, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
So I also have been playing this, and so I joined in
on the Smash TV tournamentbecause, because it launched on
Xbox, they have two tournamentsgoing on right now that are like
celebration of launching on theXbox, and one is the Smash TV,
the other one is Double Dragon.
I'd not played the DoubleDragon one, but, like you said,
mike, it is a one life, and youget as far as you can, and then

(21:35):
they put you in the leaderboards.
The one thing, though, that Iwas like so you get 1000 of
these purple gems, and then tojoin these tournaments, you have
to pay 50 gems to join.
Now you can get those coins, those gems, back in those
tournaments, right?
So, like I earned more than Ipaid for to join the tournament,

(21:58):
actually, but I don't know ifyou can buy those gems with real
money, like if you're not doingwell, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
You also get like 150 gems per day when you log on.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Oh yeah, so then it's not a really a big deal, like
in those gems.
I mean like the tournament, Ithink it was like 50 gems to
participate in it.
And then there's also the giant, the giant killer, what is it
called?
The giant, something giant.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, whether somebody with the best
score and everybody was slayer, slayers giant slayer challenge
yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
So somebody has like the high score and then you and
everybody else that's like wantsto jump in and those are like
only available for like fiveminutes, and then you and your
buddies jump into that arepeople not just your buddies,
but anybody jumps in that andtry to beat.
I think combined right, try tobeat that high score, I think.
So it's like.
So they had mighty bomb jack.

(22:54):
Oh, no, just bomb jack, notmighty, it was just bomb.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah, less, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Did you?

Speaker 2 (23:01):
know?
Did you know that in bomb jackthere's a unlicensed Beatles
song?
I did know that which one.
Hey Madonna.

Speaker 1 (23:11):
No shit.
Yeah, I think so yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Huh yeah, there's a chip tune version of that song.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Yeah, they had bad dudes on there.
So, yeah, you can just gothrough.
You don't have to play in thosetournaments either, right, so
you can just play the games.
So they had bad dudes, but Idon't remember maybe because
it's been such a long time sinceI played bad dudes but I don't
remember fighting against ninjas.
It was like bad dudes versuslike ninja something, ninja
dragon, and I don't rememberthat.

(23:41):
I just remember it being baddudes, but I was pretty bad, bad
enough that I beat a lot ofbosses.
And and the other cool thing isthat actually creates save
states for you.
So like, if you Like quit thegame, it actually like say it
creates.
They think each game has likefour or five save states.
I think you can our slots saveit in.

(24:02):
That's kind of cool.
They had Indiana Jones, theadventures, the side-scrolling
games For the Super Nintendo, maybe not Genesis 2.
I'm not sure the fun thing, though, like is they have all
the artwork from the games, likethey have like the cover art
from the games.
And some of these games, likeMike was saying, like there's

(24:22):
games on here I never heard of,like this RPG called rogue, and
they do have different, they dohave different versions of some
games, so they had like theCommodore version and the Jaguar
version or something.
But rogue, the RPG rogue, itwas like this Do you remember
that?
Remember the actor that playedhe-man In the action live action

(24:42):
movie from the 80s?

Speaker 3 (24:43):
longer.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Yes, it looked like him.
And then a girl with, like Herhands tied above her head
wearing a bikini, and I'm likethat is totally that time, right
, like.
And then, like, you just gothrough there like, oh, yeah,
you can tell that these are fromlike the 80s.
Yep, that, that makes sense.
But yeah, I think it's gamesfrom like the 80s, 90s and 2000s

(25:06):
right, isn't that right, mikeMm-hmm?
30 bucks a year, that's socheap.
The one thing that I was sayingto Mike is Because I was gonna
I was gonna probably drop the 80on it, you know for lifetime
like yeah whatever, but it justfeels weird, like how did they
get all the licenses for this tothese games?

(25:27):
That's the thing.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
But it seems like no catches on there fucked.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Yeah, well, but it seems legit, though that's the
weird thing.
I mean, it's been around for awhile, cuz, like Mike, you said
it's been on steam for a whilenow, I think, so it's not like
this is new, but yeah, yeah,it's pretty cool.
Any other games, mike?
Oh?

Speaker 2 (25:55):
No.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
Phil, what about you?

Speaker 3 (26:00):
Well, I've been playing a lot more Diablo 4,
especially now that seasons, orseason one time with the
Malignant, where diverse began, which is kind of interesting
because they make you create anew character.
But you can skip through thecampaign if you've completed the
campaign.
So I'm playing as a barbarianon top of it.
I Enjoy it, but it's set upvery, very weird.

(26:21):
We get a kind of playthroughchapters at a time, but the
chapters are not like questbased, they're like you got to
go clear out 10 basements andget a bunch of checkpoints and
stuff.
Interesting enough, I'm kind ofenjoying playing as a new
character, except for the factthat I don't enjoy playing as a
new character Because I kind offall in and love with my
necromancer.
So to actually have to usepotions and shit like that is

(26:43):
kind of like made things alittle bit more difficult.
My brain as far as likecomprehending what I'm doing.
But again, I'm gonna continueto put more time into it because
it is Diablo.
I, outside of that, I've beenplaying a game called Pokemon
sleep on my cell phone yeah, youreally.
Which is gonna result in moreof the stupidest yet most
hilarious stories that I've everbeen a part of in my video game

(27:06):
lore.
I might even have to pull up acue for the or a key for this
and it's like kind of a cardgame.
Dude, it's fucking weird, man,and I'm sorry to like phrase it
like that, but I did so.
You, you have your snorlax thatyou pay attention to.
This game is so fucking weird.

(27:26):
But you pay attention to yoursnorlax and he attracts Pokemon
while you sleep and it paysattention to your sleep patterns
and things like that and thebetter you sleep, the more
Pokemon that you attract.
You and lock some berries tofeed the your snorlax, some
things to attract more Pokemonin different sleep styles, but
also throughout the course ofthis entire thing, I learned
today which led to tears in myeyes, laughter with myself and

(27:47):
my friend Andy as we werediscussing this, because it
records snippets of your sleepand it's usually like things
like you rolling over or in inour case, my case Um, the cats
jumping up on the cat stand willlike or not in the cat stand,
but like up on the end table, kind of like right on the phone
a little bit, and they'll like, kind of like, draw attention to
it.
But if I'm gonna be my fullycrass self that I am this

(28:12):
morning at 6 o 4.
I let forth an epic fart.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
That pokemon sleep recorded.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Nothing but dead ass silence until this fart happens.
Which I shared with Andy.
It got the biggest laugh out ofboth of us like both of our
sides like we're playing overwatch tonight as we're talking
about this, because it was justlast night that or this morning
slash last night that ithappened.
Um, that I'm just like I had noidea this happened.

(28:44):
And then I checked my watch too, because I've got one of those
stupid smart watches that thekids wear these days, because
I'm definitely a kid.
Look at this gray.
Um, that woke me up and I didn'trealize that's what.
It woke me up until after thefact that I went back and
listened to my recordings ofpokemon sleep and realized that
I had, uh, completely flatulatedin the middle of my sleep,

(29:06):
which just it brought us to thepoint of tears where I recorded
a screen capture, the entirestuff, or a video capture the
entire stuff.
I'm like just what came out ofme and like we were laughing so
hard.
Now this is a thing where it'slike, all right, every night I'm
playing pokemon sleep just tohear if I can catch myself
talking to my sleep, more acidmy sleep or just one other kind

(29:26):
of dumb shit that I do in mysleep and I'm all in on this
game.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Nice, wow, that's really funny.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
So do you like keep every night for you and then you
can go back and yeah you get asleep score in the higher like
yeah, like it'll trigger likethings that like happen in the
middle of your sleep.
Um, it'll record those sectionsof time, but like the better
you sleep, the better yoursnorlax does, which is the
better the pokemon it attracts, and like it's so fucking stupid
but for some reason, like it'sbeen out for two days and like

(29:55):
the last minutes have recordedmy sleep due to it, and then,
like the entire fart incidenthappened tonight and I'm just
like I am now all in on thisgame.
Is it free?
Yeah, it's free, it's pokemonsleep.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
It's weird, weird, that's interesting.
Uh, are you gonna end onpokemon sleep or do you have to
play other?

Speaker 3 (30:15):
games.
No, man, I got nothing elselike I played home once this
show.
Diablo 4 and pokemon sleep iswhat I played, and like poke is
not even sleep, I'm not evenplaying like I just feed my
snorlax three times a day andthen I go to bed and I hit
record In the phone.
Stays on all night and itrecords me sleeping and it
catches me breaking wind at themiddle of the night and it's
fucking wonderful because of it.
Yeah, it's so dumb, but it'sgreat.

(30:38):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
That's that's where we've devolved to you.

Speaker 3 (30:42):
Now it's evolved.
I'm waiting for pokemon green, where it keeps track of how many
salads I eat a day.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Oh yeah, it should actually.
Wow, actually, maybe you gotyour onto something there.
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
Yeah, like I go, that keeps me going.
I got sleep that's encouragingme to sleep.
And I got green that'sencouraging me to eat my greens,
yeah, or, in my case, smokethem.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Oh, that's.
True too, it's illegal.

Speaker 3 (31:05):
I can say it.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
You can, you can, um, all right, so for myself, what
have I been playing?
Well, uh, I reviewed two games,uh, so they're both up actually
on the site.
Um, I'll start with um, they'reboth really good games I I
liked both of them.
The first one is called rainworld, and I talked a little bit
about that.
Uh, I think last time it wasone of the games that was in the

(31:28):
id xbox or at xbox showcase, sowe got a review code for that
game.
You play as a slug cat and youuh go around and you have to
survive.

Speaker 3 (31:43):
I'm not mess around with my man.
I was like but there's the.

Speaker 1 (31:50):
So you have to go down and survive and, uh, you
have to find food and you haveto find safe places to sleep
before the rain comes down andwashes out everything.
Uh and uh.
And originally I startedplaying this game as a
platformer, thinking like thisis how I had to play this.

(32:10):
I had to, like, beat these.
There's enemies in the game andstuff like that.
No, it's a survival horror game.
It is not a platformer typegame.
So, um, it's pretty cool.
Once I once I figured that out.
Then it's just like, reallyabout exploration and surviving.
There's a different game in itand the ai in this game is super

(32:31):
smart.
So, like you might walk into anarea and there's no monsters
there and you're like, okay, uh.
And then, uh, well, there hegoes.
Uh, maybe, I don't know, fiveminutes later, when you come
back to the area, there might belike three monsters that have
sniffed you out and they'retrying to hunt you down.
Uh, and then these monstersfighting against each other too,

(32:52):
which is crazy, and and you seethat happen.
So that's pretty cool, um, so,yeah, I reviewed that.
I gave that game an a.
I thought that was.
It was a really cool game.
Um, it's just different thananything I've ever played before
.
The other game that I've beenplaying is or that I review, I
should say is called FrankenDrake.
I think I might have talkedabout this a little bit last
time too.
I finished my review for it.

(33:13):
It is a visual novel where youplay both Frank and Drake and
basically Frankenstein andDracula, and they have to.
It's a visual novel and theyhave to figure out what's going
on.
There's a mystery going on.
They douse them with someorange gas, cause them to

(33:35):
hallucinate and weird stuffhappens and they're somewhat
paranoid and they're trying tofigure out what's going on,
branching dialogue and there isa bond relationship between
Drake and Frank.
So you can leave each otherpost-it notes and yeah, james

(33:55):
Bond and you leave each otherpost-it notes and based on what
you do during the day, and we'lldrive what you wrote in the
diary and then you take that andpost-it notes, then it drives
whether or not you're beingsnarky to each other.
It's kind of like an odd coupleactually.
I actually put that in myreview.

(34:16):
It feels like the odd couple, like a strange version of the
odd couple, but I really likethe game a lot.
I gave it an A+.
You can go read both of thosereviews on yeah yeah, it's
really good Wow.
I think that's the other thing.
I forgot to mention the artwork.
So the writing is fantastic.
There are moments in this gamewhere it wasn't even the main
characters but the.

(34:39):
When you play Frank it dependson.
And it's hard because you mightnot see this part of the game
because, depending on what routeyou take, you might not even
see this.
But at one point I went to gocheck in my neighbors and he's
going in his neighbors, kind ofshe's elderly and she's kind of
losing it, and he's kind ofgoing through her stuff and he

(35:01):
finds his journal and I actuallystarted tearing up because it
was really sad story of all thatwas going on in this person's
life and I was just like, oh mygosh, yeah, it was so well
written.
And normally I like visualnovels but a lot of times I know
those side things and I'm like, yeah, just skip it, whatever, I
don't care, I don't need toread this.
But I actually read everythingin this because it was really

(35:21):
well written.
The animation I talked aboutthis last time too, but it's
just that rotoscope animation, not out of this world but more
like flip book animation, andit's really fantastic.
So check both of those gamesout.
They are both on the Xbox, andFrank and Drake, I think, is on

(35:41):
the Switch.
I don't think Cat Slug Cat.
I don't think Ring World is onthe Switch, though, and then I
played some more VampireSurvivors, and I have something
I'm very proud of.
Like you guys might have donethis already, but I defeated Oro
Chimario in Moonspell.

(36:07):
I don't know, it's just threeheaded dragon thing.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Did you just have a stroke?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Yeah, I don't know how to pronounce this, I think
he was trying to say Oro Monroe, oro Monroe, marilyn Monroe.
It's exactly Marilyn Monroe.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
I beat Marilyn Monroe in it's not something to be
proud of man.
She's dead.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
We didn't put fucking corpse In the game of Shinobi.
She was in the game of Shinobi, marilyn.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
Monroe was Her picture was oh the picture.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
yeah, I got it.
Yeah, oro Chimaru.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Yeah, I don't know Mario, I don't know, it's a
three headed dragon thing.
It was awesome.
I was so proud of myself andapparently only like 5% of the
people got that achievement.
Oh, there's one more game, because when I was talking about
achievements Phil, this game.
I started playing it and I waslike, oh, my god.
Well, actually, both of youwill be like oh, I got to play
this game because there's tonsof achievements in this game 100

(37:03):
bullets.
That's the other game, becausewe just got to review code for
that.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
Is it based on the comic book?
No, like I'm not being an asswhen I ask that, no, it's not,
it's not.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
It's the other game that was in the ID at Xbox
showcase.
You are a little ship and youhave to move around and you're
shooting bullets as you move butthen they bounce off of walls
and stuff like that.
So you have to dodge 100bullets that you're basically
laying out and every level thatyou beat gives you an

(37:34):
achievement.
So I've gotten, like I think Ibeat like three levels.
I think there's like fivelevels total.
I mean, in those five levelsthere's like 10 or so, 10 to 12
sub levels and each of those sublevels gives you an achievement
.
Okay, yeah, so if you likeachievements, that is something

(37:54):
you can do.
It's on the Xbox.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
I like both of those things yeah.

Speaker 1 (38:00):
Yeah, so those are games I've been playing, all
right.
So we don't really have a Talesof the Eshop because we're
going to just play demo games.
But, mike, do you have an EshopTales of the Eshop game, games
picked up for Phil this week, orno?

Speaker 2 (38:17):
No, I think we know, because last time we were just
going to talk about the demos.
But if you want, if you reallywant, phil, I could just come up
with one.

Speaker 3 (38:27):
Really, quick, make some shit on Mike.
Well, why not?
Mike, that one that I happen toplay Trash.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
Ass game.
Hey, hey, can I remember thatgame that I told you?

Speaker 2 (38:35):
about.
Well, go ahead, pull an audible, go ahead and take care, Take
it.
Take it, you want me to take it?
Assign it to him.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
Okay, I'll give you your best mic impression.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Do you want to play it?

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Do you?

Speaker 1 (38:48):
want me to just read it?
Yeah, I just In your mic voice.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
If you want, do it on .

Speaker 1 (38:51):
YouTube, or?
Yeah, roger, do it on YouTube, hold on, hold on.
Let me pull it up here.
Yeah, mike, do you rememberwhat the game is?

Speaker 2 (38:57):
No.

Speaker 3 (38:58):
Oh okay, hold on, hold on, we are so professional,
it's a lesson 25.
You know what's really funny iswhen we've got guests on, we've
got like an agenda and shit, and then it comes to the three
of us on a fucking Saturdaynight at 10 or 11, 25 at night
and like all of a sudden, everything's out the window.
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
That's true.
That is true.
Where is this game, though?
It's supposed to be here andit's not there.
So that doesn't seem fair, because Best episode ever.
Yeah, yeah, it is really.
Hold on, let me find it.
I pulled this up here to you,to you wanna Mike, you got
anything.
You're pissed about that youwant to vent out for the last

(39:36):
two minutes.
Yeah, I have.
I think you want to talk aboutright now.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
They showed off some cool stuff from Mortal Kombat
Mortal Kombat 1, but it pissedme off because, of course,
people already leaked it.
So the downloadable content Patthe pack the third party
characters are going to be partof the game was ruined
Mass-Cousin.
That was kind of a bummerwhat's up?
So the downloadable characters.

(40:03):
There's some Mortal Kombatcharacters in it, obviously, but
then they're also doingPeacemaker, john Cena's
Peacemaker.
I'm not kidding Yep, he's in it.
Omni-man from oh.
Is that show Invincible?

Speaker 3 (40:18):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (40:19):
On Amazon Prime, which is a pretty good show, and
then Homelander from the Boys.

Speaker 3 (40:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Interesting, and if you haven't watched the Boys,
that's a good show too.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
It's all worth it.
Also written by Garth Innes.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
So apparently this is not a game that's on the US
store, or they must have removedit, because I can't find it,
which is pretty interesting withbest episode ever yeah, man,
that's.
That's too bad, because I Wasreally looking forward to you

(40:58):
play in this game look like shit.
Oh, I was, it was, it was.
It is awful.
It is like it just came out tolike on the 30th of June and
that's why I'm wondering if itwas just Removed because of
because of how bad it is, butyou're telling me the Nintendo
switch e-shop is removing shit.

Speaker 3 (41:16):
It's so bad.
No, maybe is the e-shop out ofbusiness.
Oh.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
I don't know, it's not.
It's not on here, so I thinkthey might have taken it down.
I'm not sure, mike.
Do you have any other that youwanted to give to him?

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Yeah, hey, phil, have you ever played riddled corpses

too Okay.

Speaker 1 (42:24):
I think so too.
Um so, yes, so the game that Iwas gonna pick for you was was
called was called the the lasthope.
Do you remember this game, mike?
It was the.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Yes me.
Well, let's do that one thenit's still a lot of it was.
They told it they did.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Oh, it was getting such bad reviews and it's so bad
.
Yeah, it's been removedactually.
So it was a clone of the lastof us, like literally everything
like.
Yes, bad, bad, bad.
The game didn't work is sobroken.
It is so broken.
Yeah, yeah, that everybody'ssaying this game it's really

(43:10):
awful like, it is so, so bad,and and apparently they pulled
it because it is not availableat all.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
Like no joke.
Do you think the Nintendo'sgonna hire me at this point Just
to like weed through theirbullshit games They've got
sitting on the e-shop?
Maybe I can do that for them, like I'm great at playing trash
games.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
How did this game get pulled also?

Speaker 3 (43:32):
There's all the game.
You're gone, oh.

Speaker 1 (43:34):
Geez, I saw is still out there, like how is that
possible?
I Exercise, like how is thatpossible?
Look at this guy, anyway.
So yeah, they pulled they.
That's how bad this game was.
So yeah, it was a clone of thelast of us.
It literally had a.
Male character yeah, it wascalled the last hope and it had

(43:58):
a character that looked likeJoel and it had a character that
looked like Ellie, and but itwas broken as all hell.
And when I saw this game, Isaid to Mike, this is the game
we have to pick next for Phil, and they removed it.
So oh, Dang it.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
We decided to play the ID Xbox games instead we
could have had it as EX.
Yeah, actually that, if I soldmy switch with the last hope on
it.
For more than 60 bucks I wouldhave sold my switch.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
All right, so that's what you're gonna play next week
.
Actually, yeah, we, I own it.
Mike, you on it too, like so wecan, we can all play it.

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
