Speaker 1 (00:10):
There we go. We manage you guys. It's Sunday.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
So for all you podcast listeners, thank you, and all
our regular listeners, thank you. We have Clint today with
some battle tech gothic. We're gonna get started with here
in a minute, and uh, get that going right, Clint,
you still haven't won the lottery though, so he's been
able to make it because for now he's he's not
(00:39):
won the lottery yet.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
So wow, I get severybody. That's the point. Let's see
if anybody notices Ashley's haircut.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
I chop it.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah, it's it's chopped. So where's the house? Yeah? First, hey, Charles,
how are you? Man? You're doing good? We hope so,
oh so give us just a.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Second here, now we can get going. If I could spell,
I can't spell.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Kind of everyone there you go?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
All right, Charles is always the first one I've seen you.
A lot of your posts to Charles are getting a
lot of stuff done.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
It looks like so clintiers getting a lot of stuff done.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I don't have the time to get as much done
as Charles does. But Charles has a lot he's been
putting out there. So Telemachus says, he won the lottery,
but his ticket ran away. Hey, I understand that I
won the lottery and someone else claimed it. Unfortunately I
don't have the money to fight that. So every week
(01:54):
it seems to be somebody else. Look weird gamers. Yes
we are weird gamer.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
But that's okay.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, Keegan, you would know, Clint says Kegan. Clint's playing
a better game than snow Runners. So he told you before.
You gotta try it though. All right, Ashley, what nothing?
Just your look on your face is like Stern. You
(02:25):
look different now. Charles says he's still dealing with his
back pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, and neck pain.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
You should divorce her, he did. Oh, well, then you're doomed.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
I see he's not married as far as I remember.
We keep saying. He goes to with his X, so it's.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
All good nights reducing your stress.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
But okay, so Charles, did you fall or did you
did somebody hit you something's wrong? Or maybe see a
chiropractor with that kind of another bar pipe. I don't
think Charles is a bar person, but you know, yeah,
you never know. It's all right, we're gonna, we're gonna, Well,
(03:09):
Clint's got battle Tech Gothic.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
He brought over. He said, it's just been released. Well,
thank you. Walk About he keeps calling me Ho. He says,
hey Ho, and Ashley, so hey, there you go.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
I'm a professional hole now. I haven't been paid for
it yet, but I'm working to Honey, I'm trying.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Walk About. We're glad you're here. Keegan says, what's Clinton plane?
Speaker 1 (03:38):
You gotta.
Speaker 4 (03:40):
A little quiet, but the fan is loud. Oh it's
battle Tech Gothic. And Keingan was asking probably about road craft.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Oh, road craft. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Walk About says nice haircut looks good. Well, thank you,
thank you walking about? But what are you talking about?
Ashley every now high hello, Ledford?
Speaker 1 (04:01):
How are you? You've been following for five years now? Leadford? Probably, well,
thank you. Yeah, I didn't realize I've been doing it
for eight years, so dude, it was two jobs ago.
It's been it's been a.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Bit, yeah, heading towards the decade.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Mark. I haven't been famous yet though, but that's okay.
We're just kind of known for being squirrely and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
So but anyways, Clint, we'll let you take over talking
about Battle Tech Gothic and that it has been recently
just released.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You said.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Bars in my days, Your days.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Charles says, yeah, heck, I hear you.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
All right, walk About says I think Ashley is paying
for me or praying for me, one or the other.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Either way it works.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
I'm okay, it's funny. So yeah, So yeah, switching gears here.
So battle Tech Go Tek is relatively new. I think
it's been three weeks or so since the three weeks
maybe a month, not quite. And it's catalysts worry into
alternate gaming stuff. Yeah, they're technically kind of trying to
(05:20):
compete with Warhammer.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Charles says, I, actually, you've improved upon perfection.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
That's very nice of you. She's done a lot of
work to get me to where I am. But calling
me perfect is great, Charles. I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
So now is it basically the Emo version? About is not? No?
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Now, surprisingly because I was going to get it because
it was battle Tech playing and simple.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
It's just bo Tech. I'm bal Tech now I'm going
to get it.
Speaker 4 (05:52):
Got into some of the lower some of the stuff
they put in this. This is a full on independent
game using battle Tech and Slash Alpha Strike rule so
it's compatible.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
But not compatible with battle Tech. When I look at
the box, I see a little bit of the heresy.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Oh yeah, that's the part that so you have for
once in the In like most games, you actually have
an enemy versus just you know, other people you don't like.
There are actually like monsters in this game now right
now no miniatures, sadly, but I'm sure that will come
about later.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
But if you have cards or something, you can have
the tokens or tokens you can kind of come up
with something that looks similar.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
So according to Catalysts one press reuse I read a
while back, they're going to do some alternate They're supposed
to be like a steampunk battle deck too. At some
point they're doing these alternate games to try to get
more people in because it's all about money. It's fine,
and I'm not so much of a battle Tech purist
that I will not accept anything other than what is
(06:55):
battle Tech. I mean, if you were going to be
a battle Tick purist, you wouldn't have any Catalyst Games stuff.
Let's be real here, You'd only have the fastest stuff.
You'd only have the metal miniatures. You'd only have Yeah,
you wouldn't be playing Alpha Strike blah blah blah. But
people are not gonna love everything. You're not gonna appeal
to everyone. Fine, so I wanted it because it's Bottotech.
(07:17):
What I got was just amazing.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Keingan says, they put Ashley's mind in the game. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
With that, the miniatures are not I will start with
this not BattleTech scale exactly.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
They are nice.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
They are very close, and they are extremely well detailed.
It looks like it. I mean, yeah, I just said
it wherever is because I wanted to do a size comparison. Yep.
Speaker 4 (07:46):
Okay, So first of all, Balo Tech miniature, you little
Klan mec, and I'll move the map and stuff out
of the way just to do size comparison before we
do anything else.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
This is your standard Phoenix Hawk.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Next to a Klan Mac, so very very very close
in scale in size, but not quite the same.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Some of the smaller.
Speaker 4 (08:14):
Macs will work fine with the bigger mac with standard
battle Tech.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
If you really.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Wanted like a periphery Phoenix Hak for example, you're there.
But when you get to the bigger max like the
Atlas the Marauder, there's a big noticeable size difference.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Are supposed to be more. They're like giant kind of
it's I mean.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
You can't mistake them for anything else, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
It looks like you got a nice map too.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Oh, this map is awesome, So I'm gonna just not
completely fold the whole thing out where you can see it.
But standard Texas, Oh it's lava. That's they look like fire.
It's supposed to be lava. But you've also got oh,
it's a four, a whole fortification with trench systems. Nice
Acid River, and this is not even the whole map unfolded.
(09:06):
And then on the other side you've got Wow.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
So that's yeah, that's basically and it is bigger than
the standard battle Tech map, albeit not much bigger, not much,
but that's nice.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
So, like all of Catalyst stuff, now you're getting the
the pre done MAC sheets automatically for BattleTech. This one
happens to be the King Crab in its alternate version,
so everything's here, you don't got to change it. The
game does also include Alpha Strike cards. Then you've got
your monsters, which are your BattleTech monster stats, so these
(09:46):
these are a little different, and the monsters obviously can't
take the severe pounding that a mech can take. Duh,
they're living creatures.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
So it's basically metal here.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Keigan says, the of scale creep going on just a
little bit.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Yeah he's not right, Yeah he's not wrong. But yeah,
you get your primary your little story which I haven't
read yet. This is the first water transfer decals for
your Max in battle Tech. In battle Tech, so they're official.
Actually it's hard to see. Yeah, get the angle right,
(10:24):
my bad, but anyway, it actually does show battle Tech,
different clan, different symbols.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
Oh they're nice laminated. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
So this is a revamping of the Inner sphere itself.
You have your monsters in cards.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Never this is.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Kind of cool that they have the monsters up in the.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Court of So these are your battle Tech just group monsters.
So this is what came out with mercenaries. You have
it in your mercenary box. These real generic cards, so
you could do large groups kind of a pacific rim push,
but not until they look like, yeah, we have dice
because you know, nobody knows what those are. No, so
(11:07):
interesting enough, it comes with this bag of accessories, uh,
says any giant, what sort of sort of I think
there is something that's shrew like I'd have to go
through the book. But so the bag of accessories three
different monsters. Uh yeah, three different sets of monsters. And
(11:29):
I'm sure there's gonna be more if they actually expand this.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
So they don't. They have the matchers for the max
but not for the monsters.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Right, and interesting enough with the accessories, here is your
atlas that comes in the starter box has no head.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Where's the that's atlas.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
That's an atlas by the way, it's in here. You
have five heads. So the atlas is customized. You need
what you want.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Yeah, these are huge, Yeah, these are definitely huge.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Well here's your standard atlas. Yeah, there we are.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
That.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
That's but that's very similar in size, not completely, but
very similar.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah. But but yeah, it just looks more bad. Oh,
it's it is.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
It's totally brutal. We just see stuff like the Warhammer
or the Marauder. Sorry, one of my favorites.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
I say this.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
There this the King Crab, which is huge compared to
the regular King Crab. Plus it has giant saw blades
on one side. So this obviously if you really like
melee weapons, this game is for you.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Because it does. There's a lot of melee stuff.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
They actually did include a really cool little tricked out Stalker,
so not kind of nice that they're doing something with
the Clods.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Yeah, that is kind of fine.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
I like that the Rifleman has got an interesting layout,
Yes it does.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
That's the one that.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Looked like it had like a cross up on a head.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
Yeah, it's a radar dish.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
But yeah, well, I'm just glad that the pictures.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Fire Starter is definitely looks better than the standard fire Star.
I mean, the standard fire Starter is kind of lame.
This thing looks tight.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
I mean it.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Really And for those of you that are too hardcore,
here's a really sickly modified Herbie and it is pretty sweet.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Look, those are really cool. These are a lot they're
kind of neither looking in the other ones.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
Man, the detail work is great. It's there's just currently
a limit to what you know what you have, and
I kind of actually do hope they expand on this.
I really would love to have this alongside battle Tech.
I'd like to see him bring the monsters out for it.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Yeah, that's what I'm hoping, or at the very least
STL files.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
So I completely agree with you, Charrows.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
Not all twenty eight or twenty eights.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
That here is the revised innersphere. So it's the same
map world, it's the same innsphere. It's just basically, for
lack of a better term, alternate reality. And then they
give you some really cool work on the back and
here just to give you an idea.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Some of the monsters.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
But like this, dude, it's it's the you know, it's
the Elemental Suit.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
Yeah, a lot of them looks like him. This is
basically an Elemental Suit in a sicker form. But there's
some big creatures. So I'm looking forward to more with
the monsters and stuff the manature.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
If they can make the matters with the monsters, i'd
be great. Map.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
There's the actual map, and it's just easier. This is
the universe book.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
This.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Yeah, so this is literally the layout of all the
description of stuff, including where the world is, the different units.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Should cover. There's a lot of tech.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
It's a lot of reading, but it's cool. Should be.
Speaker 3 (15:25):
They kind of look like dinosaurs.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Here's your there's a good picture of the King Crab.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Yeah, they kind of.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
They kind of got like a dinosaur vibe.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Here's some of the alternate atlas stuff, so you can
make your atlas anyways of these people are complaining about
the Atlas a lot because with the the salvage boxes
you get an Atlas almost every time.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
It's I get why so rule.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
Book, Well, atlas is you know Atlas?
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Well in the world, it makes sense because you're fighting
giant monsters.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Why would you not have giant max I mean right,
that makes sense. Rule book and the thing.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
So this is your standard battle Tech Alpha Strike rules
with exception of it includes the special abilities for the monsters.
These the monsters are going to have special abilities. So
it's very similar to these the equipment specialties on the
Max like in Alpha Strike and Battle Tech where you've
got heat missiles, you've got this that so the monsters
(16:28):
are going to have specials.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
But it is basically.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
Battle Tech rules with some changes, so it's going to
cover everything.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Just are they going to have?
Speaker 4 (16:37):
The alphat Strike rules are in here. That's why the
rule book is one hundred and thirty pages.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Quick reference cards is your.
Speaker 4 (16:50):
And these are these are pretty standard Alpha Strike, but
a battle Tech this one is not an Alpha Strike
Quick reference. This one's Battle Tech only.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
I mean if it's the same rules as regular Alfhae Strike,
then you can use the.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
Office strike exactly because you already know. So it does
come with some two dimensional buildings, some other equipment, rough terrain, whatnot.
Because you do something to get your gothic future, you're
gonna have different and then you've got your monsters currently
in two dimensional tokens. There are some mech tokens as well.
(17:26):
They can include one of each mac just in case
you want to do it. But there are quite a
few of the monsters, and I think once we get
a campaign or something going with it, it's gonna be fun.
I mean, I still think we'll probably use the Alpha
strike rules since.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
We can want to know if you use the map
to pick the correct Atlas.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Head you can, but you don't have to. There are
five different factions that have the Atlas.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Geez, So depending on what faction you want is what
Atlas really, it's.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Whatever your personal us the box set run for what
you for? What you get?
Speaker 4 (18:05):
Yeah, ghittering, since actually opened these, I mean, here's here's
your monsters. These are all the different creatures.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Yes, they are, like.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
You get like three of each one and.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
Something like that nice thing with right now, with these
this is everything for Valle Tech Gothic. So there's no
additional mas, there's no nothing out right now this is everything.
So you've got your mech sheets for all the mechs
that are available, no matter how many you want a field.
Because I would love to run two maroaders. I would
love to be able to do alternates of other things.
Speaker 5 (18:42):
Well that's when you know, say you have four people playing,
two people want to be the monsters.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
That's why you have those extra.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
So you can have a four player game. Every could pretty.
Speaker 5 (18:53):
Much have atom and then have a hardboard.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
I did some salvage boxes, so here, for example, I'm
not gonna get it. There's the marauder or the sorry,
the rifleman.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
I think that guy is cool.
Speaker 4 (19:05):
The rifleman is cool, and having a second one is
not bad. The one thing that is a boom slash
drawback with the salvage boxes is the Atlases don't come
with head. They're no, they're they're fixed. So I do
have another phoenix talk and i'll show you in a
second on the atlas. Generally I bought three boxes. You're
almost guaranteed to get an atlas. Oh so, and I'll
(19:27):
take this one completely out. So these atlases come automatically
in a design, so you're already sat in the salvage box,
so you'll have he's even got a cape.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
He is with the little sword. You can't see the sword.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
But yeah, that's kind of cool.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
He kind of looks like a king.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
And then of course they are.
Speaker 3 (19:51):
It's like Atlas with armor.
Speaker 4 (19:53):
This is the seventy at list and then it does
come with your your regular Alpha Strike rules or your
alf Strike card.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
But now does that say what faction that one is?
Speaker 4 (20:03):
No, because you can use them in any faction. But
if you'll notice in the book when you go through it,
some of them have their preferred design.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Well, I'll say right now, looking at this Atlas, if
as far as painting goes, that's just gonna let you be.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
A lot more. You can go so crazy with this stuff.
That's not like the regular battle tech stuff is Okay.
Speaker 4 (20:26):
I was thinking my unit, I'm gonna maybe use a
corn you know, forty K corn army KTE style paint skin.
But I could also technically do dark angels if I wanted.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
I don't know if I will or not, but.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
It kind of like I said, I kind of get
a the cover art. It's more like just I kind
of get that Harrison still Yeah, and that's.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Like it's a different universe and you.
Speaker 4 (20:51):
Know technically what they're going for, but yeah, I just
looks cool. After opening it, I was so impressed with
everything detail wise and the fact that, you know, I
would like to see expansions for this.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
I don't think it needs to go.
Speaker 4 (21:05):
Into the whole line like battle Deck, but I would
like to see more mech options, you know, yeah, leave
that they need to bring the monsters out.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
Yeah, I really do.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
I have a feeling the reason we don't have monsters
right now is because they weren't sure how this is
going to sell, because there is a lot of aid
online for it, because people either don't understand it. They're like, oh,
I don't want to it's not battle Teck, it's whatever, right,
it's not BattleTech. It's not your standard battle tech or
is I think it's not your grandpa's battle Tech.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yeah, it doesn't matter. It's still battle Tech, just different.
Speaker 4 (21:42):
It's still the same rules for what it is. I
think it's fun to just take it another direction. All
it is is an alternate universe. Really yeah, but that
makes it that just kind of it expands the fun
now the scale is correct with Warhammer Epic and whatever
it is now, the horse hairsy whatever, the small scale.
(22:03):
More so, all the buildings and everything are the right
scale for these macs, which means that the epic forty
tanks would work with this game once you had stats.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Well, there you go. That's battle t and gothic. But
that looks pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
That is, I mean, it's it's an interesting take, man,
and the models just have more detail. We'll have to
get an Alpha Strike game down with it. Just do
a small like you know, defense skirmish or whatever against
some of the creatures.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
But I think that'd be kind of cool. Yeah, Dragon
Kegan over and get on it, each of us. Get
him back. Who's the new chick?
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Many normal says, who's the new chick? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:54):
I got online and just made a trade. You know,
we don't talk about people.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
Yes, I was told not to say anything. So Ashley
got a couple of hairs cut, not just one, yeah, no,
it's like four, like four. Yeah, they just grabbed a
thing and went to town.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Actually that's kind of what she did.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Literally, Yeah, so she got her hair tracked.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Oh, I got probably good fifteen or sixteen inches off.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
I got a haircut.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
But I just got the same standard haircut, so Greg
didn't do anything to his hair other than short.
Speaker 4 (23:31):
But yeah, I don't know that. I think that looks
pretty cool. You you missed all that there, Mini Warmont, No, Brian.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Was probably lurking. He normally does, probably enough.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Greg Keegan said, this one probably cooks. I thought about you, actually,
I know.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
And she speaks Russian, eh Minie Warmut says, yeah, that's
why she runs all the Russian tanks.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Where's that little Russian commander at.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
Top Joy they go over there?
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Yeah, Man says it looks good though.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Oh Clinton, he says, hello, Clinton came back again. I
told him I give him five bucks this time. But
I need to get Keegan's charge card for that, so
we'll just run a tab. Kegan, if you're still listening.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
He owes the granddaughter. What eight point something million dollars?
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Oh, yeah, he's been ticketed for messing with her desk.
But poor Keagan's gotta work today or he's out and
about work. And he said, so Kegan work, Yeah, gotta work.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Farming? Similar isn't farming? Simulator isn't work?
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Yes, it is.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
I have to work to stay awake. When I watch
people play no offense, it's just boring to me.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
If you do some farming and in snow Runners now
they ad farming element snow Runner. The tractors and implements
that you have to drag across the.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Map actually Runner on the trailer, which is annoying.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
That you can drive a truck with a You can
drive the tractor up on a trailer with the implement
attached to it, and you can strap the tractor down,
but you can't strap the implement down.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
Nor can you the one.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Trailer that holds everything close the ramps with the implement
on there.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Yeah, it's kind of annoying.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
I I'm too spoiled with with Roadcraft. Now it's Runner.
It's like you can't just make a road or put
a bridge here.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
I think it was a Telemac guest that you play.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
The first one. The first one was technically mud Runner SnowRunner.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Then then snow.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Runner is the ongoing one, which is yeah, I'm keeping up. Thought.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
I thought it was maybe if not, then this other
one would be interesting for you because it looks like
you could do more.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
You could do a lot, but Roadcraft is very story
based it. Yeah, well, that's the point. You're trying to
save a community.
Speaker 4 (26:10):
That's been destroyed by a storm and you're trying to
get their infrastructure backup. So you're running power lines, you're
making roads and filling in holes, bridges where it need
to be and stuff, Ellie, and you're collecting war hammer barrels.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Yeah, that was interesting, Clinton. You should explain that.
Speaker 4 (26:30):
In Roadcraft in some of the maps you could find
war hammer belt literally forty k barrels, green barrel, the timber,
your logo, and when you sell them they're worth forty
thousand gold.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
That's kind of funny that they have that. I don't know,
it's into everything now. It's Yeah, they've had a game.
Workshops had a lot of success, man, especially with the
Space Brines too.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
The video game.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
Yeah, they've They've garnered a whole lot of followers I
never had before.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Which is a pretty a game. I'd like to get it.
I just it's time.
Speaker 4 (27:02):
It's yeah, right, So if I buy it, when when
do I have time to sit down play it?
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Battlefield we really sit down and play.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Battlefield six is pretty good. I I do enjoy it.
It is a far far better game.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
I don't get shit for kills, but revives. I get
hell a lot of.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Yeah, she got sixty nine revives in one game, bringing
people back into dead.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
It's an interesting number, but she got that. Tolmia says, yeah,
medic it does. He says he hasn't played a video
game in years. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
I took it quite a bit of a break from it,
but Battlefield six was worth it for me to get
back in to just have a little bit of a
little bit different pace of fun. Some of the stuff
is they got a lot of anti cheating in it,
so it's pretty hard for these guys to come in
there and try to cheat. And it's back down to
the basics. It's it's a war game, but you get
to you know, drive tanks or humvy or up if
(28:02):
you can fly. I can't fly.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
No, I've tried flying it.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
I want to crash. I just crash, like what the hell?
But watch all the other players get in there and
do all these tights and I mean.
Speaker 4 (28:14):
You have no life and you can stay behind your
console for twenty four hours. Yeah, you can do stuff
like that.
Speaker 1 (28:20):
The fly game.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
I think I've gotten to play since Thursday. I haven't
played since Thursday.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Thursday.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
I think I played two games or three.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
Yeah, because we didn't have my that night. That was
the only time you were able to.
Speaker 4 (28:32):
I get a few hours on Thursday and Friday, and
that's it.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
Thursday and Friday.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yeah, yeah, and that's when everyone else is at work,
and then I actually can play for a little while.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
It's hard. It's hard to just find time regardless.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
I've been playing late at night, just for an hour
or two, not even.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Too Yeah, I could if I moved the Xbox somewhere else,
move from where you're at.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
I mean, we have to bring our TV back here
just to play.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
Yeah, that's why you see it sitting on a desk. Hello,
jam Dyer, how are you.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
Oh, that's why it's back there on the table. Yeah,
it's kind of well, your signal is better here. I
don't like the whole wireless thing when you're trying to.
Speaker 5 (29:15):
Do Our Xbox is actually hardwired into the main Yeah, that's.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
Like mine is.
Speaker 4 (29:21):
I just don't And that's one of the reasons why
it's where it's at.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
Yeah, because that one's runs over here. Mine is running
to my laptop.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
It'll lack otherwise. Sometimes I don't want to. Well, some
of the.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Games I'm playing. Yeah, they it just doesn't work as
well on Wi Fi. I mean it works, but.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
It's just not fast enough. Yeah, and that's the problem.
It's like some of these kills that people are getting.
I think their internet is just that much faster than ours.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Well.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
I have for a while was doing World of Tanks
just on Wi Fi and you would you pull the
trigger and you could count to two or three before
the shot would.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Fire, and it was like, yeah, we can't be doing
this many more.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Of us, says he's reading up on us solo solo
or PG game alone against Fear. That reminds me keeping
in battle Tech name BattleTech Aces will be out December.
So aces are scenario packs for battle Tech, but they
include all the cards for solo play. Did you hear
(30:22):
that many more up solo play? So battle Tech solo
play and I have seen. I have all the tests
stuff for it because we got it with the kickstart.
I just didn't want to print out the cards of
the rules.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
But didn't we send Brian or battle Tech box.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
I think we.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
Did with the two mechs. I don't know because they
were painted already. Yeah, I think we did. I think
we sent him the original box.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
We don't have it over there no more. Yeah, you
get the original version. Yeah, we have the big Oh.
Speaker 4 (30:58):
Yeah, now you have the Clan, then the Mercenaries and
the starter plus the Alpha Strike stuff which is just
that's because you know, but yeah, the Aces stuff is
is definitely going to be worth getting because it is
in a complete set of different decks that lets you
(31:19):
solo play.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
Yeah, it's interesting.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
I just didn't want to print cards, laminate them and
blah blah blah, because you use the Alpha Strike cards
with your all the tanks, the other deck of cards.
Just whenever it's the enemy's turn, you just flip a
card and it tells you what they do, how they
should move, depending on like if, for example, an objective
is closer to this one or that one, this mech
(31:45):
will move towards the closest objective. If an enemy is
within so many hexes of the enemy of this enemy unit,
it will move towards that, or it will move towards
the nearest cover and they can shoot.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
It will shoot.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's just as you go off of what you draw. Yeah,
it'll be a fair game. Yeah, And solo play I
think is very important and a lot of people. A
lot of people don't have someone to game with or
like to have a family, and no one wants to
do it, or time or time, or they.
Speaker 4 (32:15):
Live too far away to get to, you know, a
local game store or something like that.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
We don't even live far from games. When do we
have time to go to I go to Riches once
every couple of months.
Speaker 3 (32:27):
Now, Yeah, he can just went up the other day
and got.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Yeah, we bought that game too, So when he went
up there the.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Conspiracy, Well, I was thinking about the ACES stuff.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
I'll play.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
I'll do some about tech Gothic using the ACES cards.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Yeah, because I'm just going to tell you how the enemy,
to tell.
Speaker 4 (32:46):
You the enemies, and I would think it translates to
the monsters because the monsters have the same stats as
the next do. With it being a skirmisher, bruiser, sniper,
you know, there.
Speaker 5 (32:57):
They're probably going to be should yep, if not, maybe
off a couple.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Yeah, there might be, you know, with them.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Being a little bit bigger, they might go.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
I think that's gonna matter so much.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
I think it's just more of certain things might not
be able to do certain actions because they're just they.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Don't have jumping and ship.
Speaker 4 (33:19):
I mean I see that being something that's down the
road for catalysts. Also, I did just this humorous thing.
Did you notice the part.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Number on the game.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
Forty thousand?
Speaker 4 (33:37):
That these are for forty thousand one forty thousand one
catalysts forty thousand. Oh so, cause you want to look
up Battle Gothics part number model number, it's forty thousand.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
Yep. What I said, not that no in your face
and that one.
Speaker 4 (34:02):
That's hysterical and that's funny. Okay, that makes sense, see us.
I mean they seem to be everywhere, even in that
video game. Yeah, they're kind of they are kind of
permeated everything. Really, I'm thinking Catalyst skated the legal line
on this one, but I mean they're like, how close
can we get? Like, well, there's no you can't trademark
(34:22):
a year. Yeah, so you know, I mean, it.
Speaker 5 (34:24):
Doesn't say Warhammer anywhere, probably doesn't.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
I think it's still pretty free green territory and.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
Doesn't Warhammer probably do forty and then a K.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Lately it used to be forty thousand, but yeah, they
shorten it mostly to forty K.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
Laziness and stuff, Yeah, laziness and stuff. It seems to be.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
It seems to be a thing in our society, I
guess on some things.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
But a lot of people dog on Warhammer, but they
still don't doesn't stop them from playing. Yeah, it was like,
you know, that's because it's still a good game, it's
just not I.
Speaker 5 (35:05):
Mean, ke Caan went because he said he wouldn't played
against my aliens anymore.
Speaker 1 (35:09):
So he kept pushing for Ashley come over and fight,
and he went and bought.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
He still didn't win.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
But you technically can never win against tyrann Is. That
you can, but it's mostly objective stuff and it's it's hard.
I mean, even in Space Hulk, where it was literally
just terminators versus Tiernids gene seals, you you were overrun,
that was it.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Jev jar laziness.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
Yeah, on some things, you know, it kind of sticks out. Yeah,
I love Space Hulk, but you you were pretty much
overrun almost every time.
Speaker 5 (35:44):
That's all Space Space Marine two is. It's you know,
you're the Space Marines against Tyrnage.
Speaker 3 (35:50):
Yeah, you're just never ending.
Speaker 1 (35:53):
Yeah, you couldn't. Well, there's no way.
Speaker 4 (35:55):
It's you realistically wouldn't be able to win against something
like that eventually. Yeah, it's just supurity in numbers, no.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
Matter what out of AMMO or out of whatever. Even
the necrons are screwed against them. Really. Yeah, imagine if
that stuff was running around in real life.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
I mean it would be like super troopers.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
Would that be a good excuse for me to go
get one of those like police walking dogs?
Speaker 2 (36:23):
But you can get online, you guys, look at that.
You can get online. You can work them with the
flamethrower for like nine grand.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Yeah, no, I'm good flaw So I'm thinking I'm thinking no,
because they're going.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
To control it and your house is gonna be burned down.
Speaker 4 (36:37):
No, no, I'm thinking. I'm thinking. I'm thinking hunting dog.
So if I go after pheasants and the dog burns
the field, the bird's flush right, yeah, control burn No?
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Okay, well maybe not, I mean maybe not, but why not?
We live in an interesting age where you can I
don't know. I'd like to do most of the stuff myself. Still,
it's just one of those things.
Speaker 4 (37:01):
Well, if you like gavy a solo play, look up
battle Tech Aces.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
So check out BattleTech Aces.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
Than once I get it, we'll do another boxing with
that too, and you can kind of see what the cards. Really,
that's more of it's a scenario, so there's a map
and there's no max or anything.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
That's maps and cards and everything for the scenario. But
it does include well, if you have the cards, you
get all the solo cards.
Speaker 5 (37:24):
Most people are if they're gonna want to do a
Botech stuff, they're gonna have the models.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Yeah, exactly. It was more as a supplement. But I
like the fact that it is going to be the
solo play rules.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Well, if you got a solo play game, jam Jard says,
solo play sounds good.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
I think it's important that all the games are that
way because, like we've said, just a little big one
hundreds of times, a lot of people don't have someone
to game with, or they've got a family that's just
not interested. So but they want a game, So there's
solo play is a good, good idea to have, and
I think that's what helped.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
The Fallout edition was the solo play. Yeah, you could
do solo play Waste Warfare, Yeah, it was I wish me.
Speaker 5 (38:19):
A lot of the games are coming out now are
going to are able to be solo played.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
Yeah, that's kind of the building thing. I wish Wasteline
Warfare was just a better rules. I just I love
and the miniatures weren't resin because they really were fragile,
just that kind of disciplined. Now that you can start
getting them in plastic, which is good, but I just
kind of like a little more sturdy. Kegan just fired
(38:47):
around at us. Solo sounds good since my neighbors down
the street are always busy. Oh well, we're not. We're
supposed to be family. But if you consider me a neighbor,
then you're talking about somebody else, sir.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Mhm. His neighbors.
Speaker 2 (39:02):
Now when I knock on the door on Crystal will
say come on in to say up, Keegan says, we're neighbors.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
I've got asked permission since I'm your neighbor.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
You want him dead some days?
Speaker 1 (39:15):
I mean, you know, but that's of course, just leave
me alone.
Speaker 2 (39:20):
Everybody can dream, right So anyways, Yeah, Kegan, we are
pretty busy though.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
Most of the time. That's that's the problem.
Speaker 4 (39:27):
I mean, even if it's a phone call, Lane up
on the phone for a couple hours, there's.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Just doesn't hop I don't get home so almost eight
o'clock either.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Yeah, and with Ashley's shift. Now, it's just it's it's difficult.
So Sunday she has off and Tuesday, those are oddball
days to have off.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
You did fire the shot clear across it there. It worked.
It worked, Kegan, I was just fired and went back.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
That's all because in the miniature things things happen at
the same time, right, yeah, right, lent.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
Yeah, So what I did is I what is it?
Speaker 4 (40:02):
We were taught it dodge, dipp and weave something something
like that.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
If you can dodge a ranch, you can dodge a missile. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (40:12):
Well, I don't know, you know. I mean, Dodgeball was
a it was its own movie. Yeah, that's all I
can say. We all learned something from it.
Speaker 5 (40:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
We'll try to get a Leviathan's gaming at some point too.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
Yeah, No, that would be interesting.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
We'll just do one of the starter scenarios I'll get
I'm gonna try to get into.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
The rules for that.
Speaker 4 (40:33):
This week is not the one wants to do. No,
that's when I brought over last time. Oh yeah, I
just haven't had a chance to sit down and read.
Speaker 1 (40:45):
The rules, and Kegan was going through the books and
I thought, that's what No, Levia.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
He's the forty k leviath Okay, yeah, that's what Keegan's
talking about.
Speaker 1 (40:54):
This is Leviathans is different game. Airships. Yeah, I've got
a German, German and Russian fleet, so we can throw
down a game as the Russians actually likes fighting the Germans.
Speaker 5 (41:10):
Oh, the last few games I've played against Russian and
German I've lost.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Yeah, like the Less five or six.
Speaker 3 (41:18):
Yeah, if he deals with real war, I just straight lose.
Speaker 1 (41:23):
A solid card game for World Tanks goes too.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
But there won't be any Russian stuff for a little
while because I think the next expansion for that will
be the Russians and the British.
Speaker 3 (41:34):
Give me fantasy. I have no problem winning him war wise. Nope,
I can't. Every single one of the best the games
we've played that's straight lost. I'll kill two and then
he just wipes me out.
Speaker 1 (41:50):
You don't straight lose. It's kind of the exact.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
It's a little bit of a Yeah, it's a hex
space game, so you're not going to straight lose every time.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
I guess they're all straight lines at some point?
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Is that saying?
Speaker 1 (42:08):
I mean it's just that.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
Yeah, World War two, they there was a significant difference
in tactics and strategy armor.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
And the Germans had the upper hand in the.
Speaker 1 (42:23):
Strategy tough. Yeah, they just they were a dominant force
at the time.
Speaker 4 (42:30):
I mean really, US just kind of had more security
in numbers than so do the Russians to a degree.
Speaker 1 (42:37):
Cut their supply lines otherwise.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
Oh, yeah, we we won against the Germans because we
were smart about it. It wasn't we had better toys.
Speaker 1 (42:45):
Yeah, that wouldn't have been a German Man. No.
Speaker 3 (42:49):
No, I wouldn't want to be in any of the takes.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
I don't which I wouldn't. I wouldn't. I wouldn't want
to be in more anymore with drones and all that
stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
You're not You're not winning.
Speaker 4 (43:02):
It's not the same fight anymore. Yeah, somebody creates an
MP until somebody creates an e MP gun.
Speaker 3 (43:12):
Yeah, we're not Halo.
Speaker 4 (43:15):
I know, we know all this cool exists, nobody just
does it yet.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
As soon as Cortana gets here, we'll figure out a
game plan.
Speaker 5 (43:25):
No, because most of the men will be drooling over her.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
She can fight it out with Ron.
Speaker 2 (43:34):
Yeah, you know, and oh Ashley, not everybody jewels over
cart You're just how.
Speaker 3 (43:41):
I say it was Joe's and I didn't say all men.
I said most men.
Speaker 1 (43:51):
To be honest. I mean, I thought it was an
interesting component of the game.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
It was a great component to the game. But yeah,
that was about it.
Speaker 1 (44:00):
The game itself, though, was a it was an awesome game.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
Oh yeah, first time you could do a lot of
that stuff.
Speaker 1 (44:09):
That was always It was a pioneer for a lot
of things. Really. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (44:15):
Well, if you notice, I don't know about everybody else,
but I know it's why I play video games. If
it's any of the first person stuff. Boy, it all
operates like Halo. It's getting you kind of got a
standard downstandard yeah, which is fine because then follow four
plays about the same way too, and it does make
it easier when you transition between things.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
Yeah, that's part of it. That's how you sell more games.
Speaker 4 (44:39):
Well, yeah, you want your new fan base to be
able to at least get up and get Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (44:48):
Same thing with the tabletop stuff. They're making it easy,
which is good.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
Just that's what people want, and I hear a lot
of but there's a lot of they're still complaining that
it's too easy.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
But I guess it'd be better that it's easy.
Speaker 2 (45:03):
To get people into the gaming because you can always
get a different harder difficulty.
Speaker 4 (45:08):
I mean with Battle Tech, do you want quickie easy
skirmish or do you want realistic those You've.
Speaker 1 (45:14):
Got both with Battle Tech. Both involved math no matter
what you do.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
But yeah, I mean Battle Tech itself takes a little
longer play, but it is more realistic. You're hitting locations,
you're doing specific damage. It's more of a down there
in the cockpit type of situation where Alpha Strike is okay,
you've deleted the boxes in the unit's destroyed. Yeah, it's
just a faster it is, and I like both versions. Yeah,
it depends on what time. Do you have an afternoon
(45:41):
to sit down and do a fall on Battle Tech
and track everything.
Speaker 1 (45:44):
Most people don't. I don't even anymore. I love to
just do BattleTech battle tick. But that way you.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
Got almost schedule a day, yeah, or request days off
to be able to do a pull on games.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
If they could split the difference on all the damage
down and arm, if there was half the damage half yeah,
circles to mark you know what I mean, it would help.
And if you shortened up how much damage each piece took.
Obviously a leg would take more damage than an armor.
Speaker 5 (46:11):
But yeah, well, I mean if you both agree on it,
you can always go and say, okay, this whatever is on,
there is half each each hit you get or what.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
You technically could take the blank sheets, mark off half
the boxes and have.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
It or each shot you know that hit you mark
to off.
Speaker 4 (46:30):
Yeah, exactly, it's double. Whatever, there's ways to do it.
The nice thing with BattleTech was you could build the Mac.
You could modify the Mac, you could adjust the Mac.
You could there's rules and books on how to just
tweak everything to make everything work, just like in the
video game, and then you just build in the sheets.
Speaker 1 (46:47):
So we always had customized Max.
Speaker 4 (46:49):
That's how I had a you know, a behemoth with
four goss rifles that was just a beast in the arena.
Because it didn't produce heat. It created a whole total
of six points of heat. The standard heat sinks in
its engine covered all the heat that Matt created. So
when with arena rules, heats were time either times four
or times six. So firing a fifteen heat weapon is
(47:12):
just massive. You fire at once and then you don't
shoot it again. When you got one that's producing sixteen
heat from four guns doing sixty damage. Most everything in
the arena was just slaughtered until you ran out of ammo.
But you put that on the battlefield and forget it.
Speaker 1 (47:27):
You just just walk right you. You just you.
Speaker 4 (47:31):
Could carry two tons of ammo which was thirty two
total shots and that's it. And when you're doing a
long campaign thirty two shots that miss or tweaking on
her or something, you're like, yeah, that it doesn't hold
up as well.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
But it's just like a with so many rounds and
if it fails, it fails.
Speaker 5 (47:53):
I mean, that's that's why I like Savezza because that's
whatever's on that card.
Speaker 3 (47:56):
If you can't get that truck back to you, you're screwed.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
That is gonna be nice thing about World Tanks card
game is you actually have to have ammo to shoot
the tank, so you have to use your resources to
be able to do stuff.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
So that's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 4 (48:13):
Oh I did get the the the ammo crates with
tank shells in it, so I'm gonna work on those
for our tokens.
Speaker 1 (48:20):
That'd be cool.
Speaker 4 (48:22):
It comes out next month and we look at that
and then I'll have those little token markers done.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
That would be cool.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
Yeah, the big tanks take three tank shells to fire.
So if you just spend a bunch of resources to
get like a tiger out there, and you ain't got
enough to get three tank shells, it's gonna sit there
and be a target.
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Yeah you got, you gotta get.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
See, that's the thing with the resource driven part of
any game is you better make sure lines aren't cut
or that your resources are refilled or and that's a
big thing I know in the hex and counter community
is supply line.
Speaker 4 (48:59):
Yeah all yeah, Well that's how war worked. You really
needed your supply lines.
Speaker 1 (49:06):
Yeah, today's it's a whole different thing. Man. They can
just drop tens of thousands of drones on the battle now.
But you don't know, you think.
Speaker 4 (49:15):
Most supply convoys were targeted, especially to certain wars. They
find out they went after the supply lines more than
they went after the actual forces.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
Well yeah, because if you cut the forces supply, you
could just encircle.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Them and let them let them run out of food.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
That's why you had said the gun trucks and stuff
in Vietnam where the supply crews were armoring their vehicles
because they're tired of getting shot at and attacked.
Speaker 1 (49:40):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (49:43):
I mean nowadays, take those drones, pack whatever you want
on it when it runs out of ammon, and guess what.
Speaker 3 (49:51):
It's the bomber.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
It's changed. It's just like the you know companies like
DARP and all that. You look up those things they've
made for war, it's not it's not even what it
was ten years ago. It's really really out there. What
they've got, what they can do. Yeah, it'd be interesting.
Speaker 1 (50:10):
I mean that's where a lot of the stuff you've
seen in movies now.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
Is out there, and like it's I blame Hollywood for
our downfall.
Speaker 1 (50:18):
They give people all these ideas.
Speaker 4 (50:19):
And give my I mean technically it's true, technically not,
but there's a lot of technology we have now because
of Star Trek and other things.
Speaker 1 (50:30):
So yeah, they give them ideas.
Speaker 2 (50:34):
The work was and some of that is put in
there that they've got so that you get used to
seeing it, so when it comes out, you.
Speaker 4 (50:41):
Already have been conditioned to except that.
Speaker 1 (50:44):
It works both ways. I think, yeah, it's pretty interesting
the way things run. But yeah, I don't know, man,
interesting world. I still like all the all the games
we play and stuff. It's just yeah, it's the time.
All we can do because work and.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
Yeah, well and people have less and less money these
days too, all of us do. You can look at
all the reports, look at all the all the fast
food restaurants are complaining because their numbers are dropping and dropping.
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Well, one, it's just getting too expensive, you know.
Speaker 4 (51:18):
In two, if you're like me and you're looking at
a lot of things, and I'm not talking about the media,
if you forget that and just go look at what
people are saying and doing.
Speaker 1 (51:28):
See, a lot of people are just figuring out and
always it is it mostly cheaper to try to eat
at home. It's just healthier too, on a lot of stuff.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
So if you can afford to buy groceries, if you
can afford to buy groceries, because even the staples.
Speaker 1 (51:39):
Are going up. But then you notice more and more
people are gardening too. So I don't know.
Speaker 4 (51:45):
There's one other thing you could say, But if I
say it, then it'll happen.
Speaker 1 (51:48):
So we're not going to say it. Oh, then we
won't say it. We don't want to say it. Then Nope,
be like it where it is.
Speaker 4 (52:00):
We'll just leave things alone for now. Yeah, yeah, wait
and see what happens. Tomorrow, but you know, yeah, it
doesn't stop us.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Keegan posted a little video and Old Brother Hobbies Betho's
chat there about what was the gaming table Kegan, and
he said responsible purchasing in the hobby.
Speaker 1 (52:22):
I don't know a lot of us just purchase not
necessarily sure if it's responsible.
Speaker 4 (52:28):
But I was gonna say, I've seen pool tables were
cheaper than some of the gaming tables.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (52:35):
I've also seen some pool tables that were converted into
gaming tables.
Speaker 3 (52:40):
Yeah, and the pool table will probably you built that.
Speaker 1 (52:42):
The one the dude had was awesome.
Speaker 4 (52:44):
So he had a border that dropped into the pockets,
and then these little shelving units sat over the edge
and then used the felt centerpiece for your maps and
for their D and D campaign, and then the edge
pieces came out. I don't know about so far little tables.
I can't say it's all about that far. And there
were little tables, and then there were cup holders and
they just they just dropped each side into the pockets.
(53:08):
He had like a big round I don't know what
or whatever base that went in the pocket and it
held this border on each side of the table. And
then people just had now and then the DM set
at one end with a he had a small table
it's just next to it, and they just put another
(53:28):
map over the felt for the pool table, and everyone
just sat at that and they played D and D
on the pool table. At one point he had this
really cool.
Speaker 1 (53:39):
Blue one of the videos, he had this cool blue.
Speaker 4 (53:43):
Cloth over the pool table and he had a giant
ship in the middle and it was they were doing
a ship battle.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
I don't which I don't remember.
Speaker 4 (53:49):
It was a three D prenticeship or one of the
ship's pirate ship types that one of the companies put out.
But I mean it was good size, you know. I'm
want to say it was at least two feet long
because their miniatures were on it and they were doing
D and D with it. But yeah, he had sea
monsters coming. I mean it was really cool.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (54:10):
A little bit of imagination and you can make a
pretty good table, but it's you.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
Gotta have room for it. Like this room here. I
mean there's enough for one table, but.
Speaker 3 (54:20):
You can put two tables on this.
Speaker 1 (54:22):
We have I have being and we put two of
them together and then push a chair I started doing.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
But it doesn't give you much room to scoot around. So, yeah,
you got to work with what you got. Well, table,
speaking of that, I remember watching this was years ago.
So one of the guys make game tables, and of
course he had a basement, so but he made him
on four white sheets of plawoid and then he had
(54:49):
like two by fours for a base and slots, so
him in the front would lift the table out of
each spot. One would be like a swampy water it
with snow, yeah, you know.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Was desert.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
And they they had the tables just sitting there in
stacks against the wall, so it didn't take this much
room up against the wall, but they have.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Yeah, put them up on saw horses, and you had this.
Speaker 3 (55:13):
I say we did that with Kegan.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
We went down the Yeah, but I'm not talking about that.
I'm talking about these guys actually went to a lot
of details. That was that was a big cable. That
was a big oh my god. Or I didn't even
think of the turn. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was.
Speaker 5 (55:37):
Back in because we brought in like, oh, there's a
bunch of Kegans and Kegan and.
Speaker 3 (55:42):
Greg and us because we're.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
Greg. Yeah, we didn't have.
Speaker 3 (55:48):
Room on that side for all our guys.
Speaker 4 (55:50):
No, we I peared down of it just because there wasn't.
I had a lot of small companies, but I had
multiples of them because that's what I was doing, chock
troops stuff. So they were small groups so they could
move more independent. But they're also T eighty tanks.
Speaker 1 (56:04):
Yeah, those tights do pretty. They're nice tanks.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Pretty nice tanks they were. And the T sixty four
BB I've played with that one, Yeah, because of the
armor on it. It's it does.
Speaker 4 (56:17):
A lot better than you think. But yeah, which we
have to do again. When is the next RPG game?
Speaker 1 (56:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (56:27):
We're supposed to be doing.
Speaker 2 (56:28):
Yours were and Mitos, you guys are in charge of
that one. We're still sticking with that that one. We're
not well, we haven't started another RPG.
Speaker 1 (56:41):
Yeah, I have time doing rpg.
Speaker 2 (56:43):
Yeah, you have to have.
Speaker 5 (56:44):
Well, we were doing Twilight with Keegan, and Keegan kind
of got sire being the DM.
Speaker 4 (56:51):
Well. I bought all the new Werewolf RPG books because
they redid the old the old system. They just kind
of refreshed it. It's still the same rules, but man,
that would be a fun one to do with a
small group.
Speaker 1 (57:04):
They make the rules easier. It's all D tense, so
every one of your stats.
Speaker 4 (57:10):
You have your physical stats, and you have your skill stats,
and whenever you do anything, each dot that you have
in that is a D ten you roll and you
need to be a target number. So let's say your
difficulty level was six, so you might roll four or
five D tens. Meeting sixes are better, and the number
of successes you get determines whether you succeed or not.
It's a very streamlined system. I love White Wolves, pretty
(57:31):
simple rules. It's very easy to make characters because you
just Okay, you get you're this race, you're this in
the case of Werewolf, you're this werewolf troop, you're this auspice.
So you're either warrior, sage, or whatever, and you either
human or you were wolf, and you have in your
physical attributes, you have X number of dots that you
can spend on your physical attributes. You have X number
(57:53):
of dots you spend on your skills, and then you
have when you were doing Vampire, then you had a
little extra for like your blood pool and a few
other things.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
And the two games intermix because it's the same rules system,
but they were just pretty easy.
Speaker 4 (58:06):
It was just real simple to knock out a really
cool character. And because some of the wareolfs had like
modern ones where you could actually have a firearm skill
and you could have guns. I had a werewolf what
they called the Glasswalker, who had twin nineteen elevens and
he had silver rounds and he had but he was
(58:29):
real good with the guns. But he wasn't he he
Melee was not his he no. I mean he had
like one dotted, so he had good dexterity. He get
a four because your five is your maximum, then get
a four dexterity and a one in like melee. Oh
so five dice isn't bad, but when you're needing three
(58:50):
successes to do something like defend yourself because they are
now within point blank rains.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
So eventually he learned gun fu.
Speaker 4 (58:58):
He learned the switch, which he spent some points in melee,
and I think we got him up to three in
melee so he could he could do close combat with
his pistols. And he upgraded to long Slide nineteen elevens
with modified bottoms which were the KNT rails for the
laser sights, but they were modified so he could carry
knives and swords with him nice. Yeah, his guns were
(59:20):
tricked out really cool.
Speaker 1 (59:23):
And because you roll, you roll five dice to try
to get three yeah and he.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
And usually difficulty averages six, So you would roll five
d ten needing as many sixes as you can get,
but a lot of times you don't get yeah, some
three or you know, five ones or something. The game
master determines the difficulty and so how many successes you
need determines the difficulty target numbers. So it's a really
hard one. You may say you're up to the difficulty
(59:51):
level is eight. You need two successes for example, and
it's not bad to do when you're rolling ten dice.
When you've got you know, max's strength and max sword,
you know ten dice, you're gonna generally succeed most of
the time. But like with the werewolves and vampires, Yeah,
taking a normal sword to a werewolf or a vampire
(01:00:13):
does fleshpoone damage, so.
Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
No matter what you do, you're.
Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
Not really hurting them, and they generally regenerate quickly, or
in the case of vampire, they're like, oh, I'll just
spend a blood point because I've got like fifty I
think I think the maximum they could have was like
twenty or thirty, but you just spend one and then
you know, when your blood pools low, you just feed
off somebody and or even an animal and you replenish
some of your blood pool, but you just can't go
(01:00:40):
out in the sunlight. Yeah, so awesome games. I would
love to do an RPG with that, but it would
have to be a time when I could get everyone
together and I had the free time, and I would
do like a two two to four night campaign that
was just a small scenario where everyone kind of came
together to do a certain objective or whatever, and then
(01:01:03):
that would be that.
Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Mytho hasn't shut up yet.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Yeah, many weeman's asking about Mitho's. Well, I do know Mytho's.
Last I heard, he's working like six days straight, so
I wasn't getting a lot of sleep, and he's on
the road again for his company, so he just may
not be able to make it. Gotta take it easy
working like that too, I know, I know what that's like.
(01:01:32):
It's just no anymore. Yeah, yeah, I don't mind working
from home.
Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
That at least allows me get things done to a
degree when I'm not busy dealing with stupid things, and
believe me, we're getting the cream of the crop for
calls lately.
Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
I mean, you.
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
Don't have an online newspaper if you can't even turn
your stupid iPad on or off. Yeah, oh, you're supposed
to turn this off. Yeah, you're supposed to turn them
off once in a while, like they just I mean,
I understand old people. I get it that technology is
not everybody's friend. But when your kid gives you an iPad,
teach them how to use it. Yeah, but some of
(01:02:17):
them don't even know what an app is. Like, it's
an iPad. The thing runs on apps, that's all it does. Yeah,
so you need to know what an app is. You
need to know how to download apps. You need to
know how to do you can't, And then they get
mad when we can't just make something work.
Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
I'm like, it's your iPad. I have no control over
your iPad.
Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
When I was working there with you, I remember I
would get calls when digital first, when I first out
my digital newspaper wasn't delivered to me.
Speaker 1 (01:02:44):
Today, yep, we're still getting that.
Speaker 4 (01:02:47):
We finally, finally, God to stop sending the courtesy emails
to people.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
Yeah, because that was messing them up because people were
commanding credit. Then when they didn't get.
Speaker 4 (01:02:57):
Their email, I'm like, no, yeah, And now she's telling us, oh, well,
we could send this to people as a PDF and
we would just email them the PDF. Then why didn't
you do that in the beginning? Oh wait, no ad
revenue when you do that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Yeah, and if you do send it that way, or
you can be able to send a file that large, well, no.
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
There's still image and stuff. But for the most part,
what I think the idea was is it just links
directly to the online pdf. They upload it as a
PDF instead of a website, and they just do that.
I'm like, well, then do that and stop. You know,
then everyone gets an email, they click on the email link.
End of story. It's like people don't get the concept.
(01:03:43):
You're logging into a secure website. You're logging in we
if you were to do that before, yes, you have,
you wouldn't have access if you hadn't, So what are
you doing back there? I just I get tired of that.
I mean, I I realized technology is not everybody's fourt
and there are some people that truly do try to understand.
But it's like, if you're going to get this piece
(01:04:04):
of technology, understand how to use it, at least know
how to turn.
Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
The thing on.
Speaker 4 (01:04:10):
Today, it's easy to use that technology. You can just
talk to it and until something doesn't work.
Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
Yeah, well the technology is flawed.
Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
That's why I T departments make all that money, and
they make a lot of money. And it's kind of
funny because people will get upset and go, this shouldn't
fail them like it does.
Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
Yeah, that's why. That's why you know things are That's
why customer service is there. And what is going off?
I don't know if someone's car alarms going off in
the distal way. I didn't bump something in my pocket.
Speaker 3 (01:04:45):
No, you would hear here.
Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
That's that I know because sometimes I'll move wrong and
it'll set the alarm off.
Speaker 5 (01:04:53):
And like seriously, uh see, Brian say, well, someone needs
to get game going. I say, I thought meet thy
starready gave you our next part and you were waiting
up on the other group, the Wolves or whatever the
hell it was.
Speaker 1 (01:05:09):
But he's saying we should be getting a game going
game game game.
Speaker 3 (01:05:15):
Yeah, oh, we have trying to get one tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
We have been playing Battlefield six, so maybe that doesn't count.
Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
But yeah, I streamed it. Yeah, you did stream it
the one night you should have streamed the one where
you got all those revives.
Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
I've never seen do that with mine, But like nobody
would tune in because it's Thursday morning or Friday morning,
and I think I had three people.
Speaker 1 (01:05:40):
Watching, but then there's other people that are. But you
know what's funny.
Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
I will log in at nine am on a Thursday
morning and I will be playing Roadcraft all of a sudden,
Kegan's online.
Speaker 3 (01:05:54):
It depends on the week. Sometimes if he's working nights,
he'll be on.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
He will because I see him on. I mean, like
all last week. It's several times he logged in. Tell
me when he logs in.
Speaker 5 (01:06:04):
Sometimes it's the kids get on the Xbox that makes
play some of the other games they have to have
Kegan logged in.
Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
Okay, that makes sense, and why it would be coming
up randomly like that. Mine War says video games, Bah, well,
you know, sometimes for so much.
Speaker 2 (01:06:21):
But I can sit down and play a game battlefield
in ten minutes. You know, there's ten minute matches and stuff.
I can't really do that with a tabletop game.
Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
Although no, we gotta get Trench Club done.
Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
Yeah, I wanted to do the one with Blump two wings,
the Glory with our No.
Speaker 3 (01:06:39):
I got my ass hands to me the last time.
Speaker 1 (01:06:41):
That was, well, you do it again and you could
be the Germans.
Speaker 3 (01:06:46):
I don't want to be the freaking Germans.
Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
I'm playing Glory in a while.
Speaker 1 (01:06:52):
Yeah, and I bought.
Speaker 4 (01:06:55):
Yeah, but she had tell I have very little World
War One stuff left. I only have a few things
left for World War One and it's mostly what comes
with triplots and triplanes.
Speaker 1 (01:07:03):
Which is a good game. We should do that one.
That one.
Speaker 4 (01:07:05):
I need to get on mentor market and get the
other two aliens.
Speaker 2 (01:07:11):
I thought was well, areas did release more of the
Yeah you did?
Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
Didn't did? Didn't? They need to? When I do a game,
they need to, like, they need to support it.
Speaker 4 (01:07:22):
Yeah, it's they'll come out with a really good game, Ashley. Yeah,
and then they'll just do'll be notice, would you.
Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
Like to up you stick me back here?
Speaker 1 (01:07:33):
By all the damn stick you back there. That's where
you choose. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:07:36):
It's like Sales and Glory where there's just nothing, nothing,
no support for.
Speaker 1 (01:07:40):
It after Yeah, and that was a really nice game,
nicely done. We gotta do a sales scorer too. We
gotta do a lot of them.
Speaker 3 (01:07:49):
We talked about it is the cracking over there needs
to be played with.
Speaker 1 (01:07:53):
He was just out there, Well, I've been a game
many Morma says. You would think about playing.
Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
Again as World of Warcraft, but then after a week
you might get bored again.
Speaker 1 (01:08:07):
You know that's still really going, Oh yeah, Warcraft.
Speaker 5 (01:08:11):
It's there's one that's similar to World of Warcraft. It's
on the phone. It's a raid or something like that.
It's the makers of World of Warcraft.
Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
I was at one point going to do Skyrim and
then just never.
Speaker 3 (01:08:24):
I like Oblivion. I didn't like Skyrim.
Speaker 1 (01:08:31):
I will play Skyrim if I can have to X
zero one power. I mean, yeah, you'll do what.
Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
I'll play Skrim if I can have X zero one
power Skaryman Fallout of the same platform. It's just yeah,
I'm sure at some point you could get a mod
to do a power armor in Skyrim across probably. Oh,
I would love having hordes of goblins or something coming
at me.
Speaker 1 (01:08:55):
I'm just like, what is that mini duke number or card?
Speaker 3 (01:09:05):
I tried doing the Fallout again.
Speaker 5 (01:09:07):
I think it was four that I tried playing, and
I gave up on it.
Speaker 1 (01:09:11):
I still play it pretty far on that one, but
I didn't like that. Everything I was okay.
Speaker 5 (01:09:17):
I'm like, okay, this is kind of cool. You run
to the bunker, you get shoved into these.
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
Things, and then you're you know, you wake up and
your wife, guys come on that.
Speaker 1 (01:09:28):
You get to have revenge later.
Speaker 4 (01:09:30):
And when I say revenge, I'm talking Gos's rifle round
to the faith revenge. There's revenge and then there oh dude,
he when you go through taking out the guy that
stole the kid, when you have the pistol that I have,
that just it's like a machine gun pistol.
Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
Yeah, he's he's like two seconds, he's dad.
Speaker 4 (01:09:51):
It's just like he's this great boss battle and you
just go and he's gone. And when his buddy's popping
and teleported in, you're just like, put it done. The
first time I went through with a goss rifle, you know,
we're talking Goss rifle things like this massive, large, high energy.
It just one shot dead. I'm already coming through their
(01:10:12):
next zero one power armor. Anyway, It's like I love.
They're all like, oh, you can't stop me. I can
take I can, dude, I'm in freaking experimental power armor
and you're in my face.
Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
What the like, my fists do electrified damage? What do you?
Speaker 4 (01:10:28):
I can jump in the air and land and send
a shock wave that will kill you. Shut your pile hole.
Speaker 1 (01:10:35):
It's just.
Speaker 4 (01:10:37):
That.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
But it's also funny when.
Speaker 4 (01:10:39):
You're in the institute and it's all pristine and scientists
are all this and you're walking around in giant power
armor and they're all like, oh, this is nobody's even
acknowledging here in giant.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
Power armor, just wandering around.
Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
It's like I can jump off the second balcony and
take out all your guards in one shot, Like nobody in.
Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
The facility is a challenge for me. Nobody.
Speaker 5 (01:11:03):
See then that's not when it gets that gets boring
to meet.
Speaker 6 (01:11:07):
That's right, there was so on play through four, I
decided to stand on the highest balcony next to the
elevator with the anti material rifle and just snipe everybody.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
And I'll tell you what, that was fun because they
all come.
Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
Rushing at you, and when you're sitting there with an
anti material rifle that's almost as tall as you are,
everything's going down in one shot. I mean, it's It's
the same as going into Diamond City and shooting one
of the guards with a pistol and then getting on
the roof with a mirv and just lobbing it into
the center of Diamond City, killing everyone.
Speaker 1 (01:11:43):
Not so smug, now, are you re enjoys that? Oh?
Speaker 4 (01:11:49):
Well, sometimes you make a mistake when you're doing things
and you accidentally shoot the wrong person you screw. Sometimes
the wrong person gets hit in the middle of a firefight,
and now all of a sudden, you're the bad guy.
Speaker 1 (01:12:01):
Yeah. I hate that.
Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
When I'm in the middle of some colony firefight and
you accidentally hit one of the colonists and then they
all start turning on you. I'm like, I will just
waylay this colony down. I did the one colony. I
literally just fine. I'm just gonna mould everybody down and
other than the like the two or three NPCs that
are supposed to be in that colony, and then all
of a sudden you leave and come back and they're friendly.
Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:12:26):
This comedy had twenty two people in it and then
a raider group hit and one of you turned on me.
Speaker 1 (01:12:30):
Now this colony has three people. Oh well, but.
Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
They were friendly. Next time around. Oh, they were real friendly. Like,
that's right, you better be friendly.
Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
Your wife goes by when you're playing this game and
you're screaming, Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
I'm counseling your subscription to Life.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
Would do it too. Oh you got that from? I wonder. Yeah,
I don't know where you would get your trades from.
It's a mystery. I'd say it's Clint's fault though. Yeah,
well I gotta teach him, right, You gotta teach them right.
You get your kids outside having fun and playing. But
(01:13:17):
I don't know, Yeah, I means some of the craziness.
Speaker 3 (01:13:23):
What are they doing.
Speaker 1 (01:13:25):
They're having fun. They're just out there running, Yeah, just running.
Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
And having you know, middle school boys.
Speaker 2 (01:13:33):
But may as well do it now because it's gonna
get cold pretty soon.
Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
It's already starting to get cooler.
Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Oh, I know, this morning sucked.
Speaker 1 (01:13:42):
It wasn't too bad this morning. No, but I thought
we were reading more weather than we did yesterday. But
because it really looked like it was going to do something,
but it didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:13:51):
It will though, at some point, Yeah, it will. I
removed all the tomatoes out of the garden and.
Speaker 3 (01:13:56):
Yeah, but you started pulling most of this stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:13:58):
No, I pulled all the plane.
Speaker 5 (01:14:00):
It's gonna be raining to Yeah, Thursday is gonna be
a little chimmy or Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (01:14:08):
Why, what's forty nine is the high? What's what's it's
not bad? Thirty six that's all that's like cold.
Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
We're gonna head up north next couple of weeks for
a weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
So Wednesday, how that goes?
Speaker 3 (01:14:21):
Lows thirty four, Thursdays lows thirty three.
Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
Hummm, Saturdays gonna be no, We'll have to wait. Well,
we have that wedding to go to. Yeah, but a
wedding is going to be inside. I don't know is
it outside?
Speaker 3 (01:14:38):
I think there's an outside.
Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
Maybe that's takings of coffee. Many more months of seventies there.
You got a lot of rain, though I noticed that
Arizona in the last week there's been a little there
is in certain areas.
Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
Yeah, in Alaska got hammered, really extreme news. But boy,
it happens there every now and then.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
But it's supposed to rain tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (01:15:08):
Yeah, oh not Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
We need the ground to be somewhat moist when the
frost line comes in, so that one of the ground
completely frozen. That that causes waterline breakage and other stuff.
Speaker 5 (01:15:25):
Well, it's gonna be forty nine Tuesday, but it's only
gonna feel like thirty eight.
Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
Yeah, that's going I'm gonna be inside the whole time.
Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
So clintch Clint walked to work, as you know, from
one room to another.
Speaker 1 (01:15:37):
Well, you gotta go to the kitchen. I gotta go
downstairs coffee and go back up.
Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
So I mean there's that, you know, good forty five
to fifty seconds there go travel time, Yeah, travel time,
and then you know, you gotta wait for the curate
to warm up the water.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
When I was doing that here, when I sent us
home during the whole COVID thing and everything, it was like.
Speaker 2 (01:15:59):
Walk to the front room of me being Me'd be like,
I'm home, and that was funny day one.
Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
But yeahs she's like, well you stop doing it.
Speaker 2 (01:16:08):
I'm like, well, didn't you hear the car pull up
you're walking from the other room.
Speaker 1 (01:16:12):
I'm like, yeah, I know. It was kind of weird. Yeah,
but I knew.
Speaker 4 (01:16:17):
I knew as soon as they sent us home that
there was a good chance that's what's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (01:16:22):
Once they realized the money they saved shutting the building down,
Why go back to it. It was like a test
run for them. People are still in there in the office.
It's kind of mandatory for everyone but us. Well to
go to again.
Speaker 4 (01:16:35):
They have to go into the office once or twice
a week.
Speaker 1 (01:16:37):
Where's the office at downtown isility.
Speaker 4 (01:16:41):
It's in the third it's the street and third third
it was it third Avenue and second Street, second Street.
Speaker 1 (01:16:50):
Another company took that over there, redoing all that stuff.
That building's gone. Yeah, that building rand No.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
The other one is just the down the old whatever
building where we had. That's one of the next to theaters,
theater rapids. But it's a guarantee bank building. I couldn't
think of it.
Speaker 5 (01:17:09):
Yeah, two or second, Yeah, yeah, it's third s three.
Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
Is not big enough for a lot of people.
Speaker 4 (01:17:17):
You can't have all the reporters there. There's no room.
I mean there's maybe twelve desks there if that. Yeah,
it just but it's cheaper. That's good, a lot cheaper, Moore, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
Expensive.
Speaker 4 (01:17:32):
Well did they have the whole building though, Yeah, they
used well, yeah, they owned it for a long time.
Speaker 1 (01:17:37):
Then they sold the building and rented it.
Speaker 4 (01:17:39):
They had a ninety five year lease. Yeah, it was
coming up seven years shorter.
Speaker 1 (01:17:43):
Ninety five or so. Yeah, something like that. They got
out of the lease and then that's when they sent
us a home. But that's all good. It was just
shorter trip to the bathroom. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:17:57):
So well I kind of missed this little package of
don't think it out of the machine.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Brian couldn't work at home.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
I don't miss in office.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
I really don't many warm up says I don't think
I can work at home distractions.
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
Yeah, there's not that many where I'm at.
Speaker 3 (01:18:16):
You don't have little kids, that's true.
Speaker 1 (01:18:18):
Yeah, it would all depend on if what what you
had to do. But most time everyone's gone Johnny, Hello, Johnny,
how are you, sir? We're just we were talking about
battle Tech Gothic, so you should rewatch the first part.
But well, I'm sure you already know all about battle
(01:18:40):
Tech Gothic because Johnny is a big time battle tech guy,
and then he probably yeah, so the mall has don't
looked into what he needs to.
Speaker 4 (01:18:48):
The models are really cool, a lot nicer than the
standard battle Tech.
Speaker 5 (01:18:54):
I'll look in a little bit and see if I
can't find some been similar to those monsters.
Speaker 4 (01:19:02):
Oh, I'm sure there's some DND or something that's close.
They kind of look like some of the creatures from
Iron Kingdoms, but the scale would be way off.
Speaker 3 (01:19:13):
Well, I have the thirty I can probably skal them
up or down.
Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Oh, we hated it was the worst thing ever, Johnny.
What you think? Clint says, we hated it.
Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
Put the camera real quick, and then you can see
the miniatures again. I'll move the Yeah, you're good. I mean,
there's your now here.
Speaker 3 (01:19:37):
What is going on?
Speaker 1 (01:19:39):
There? It goes there, you.
Speaker 4 (01:19:40):
Go, there's the Gore box miniatures with the headless atlas.
He said, did you notice a skew number for Gothic
Guess we did before as soon as Clinton.
Speaker 1 (01:19:56):
Pulled the box up.
Speaker 2 (01:19:57):
On first thing that I thought of, Johnny, and don't
get my me, was oh, this looks like Horace heresy.
Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
That's just the first thing I thought of. But it's
the artwork that made me think that. But it's a. Yeah,
it's a it's definitely battle tech, it says. Yeah. But
the models are cool.
Speaker 4 (01:20:15):
Yeah, it's pretty impressive. And the skew numbers youty thousand. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:20:24):
We can't talk too much about forty K because Brian
thinks that I'm a forty K fanboy.
Speaker 4 (01:20:30):
You are not really, It's not like we used to
be Clint's fault. He's the one that gave me the
Space Marines.
Speaker 3 (01:20:38):
But you could have switched. I didn't want He's a
little bit more mainlyer one.
Speaker 1 (01:20:43):
I really what's wrong with them?
Speaker 4 (01:20:44):
They're blue remains. They're like the generic Space Marines. I
mean they're they're like they're discounted the.
Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
Space Marines. Space Marines. Thank you guys.
Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
Well, if anybody's listened to this long enough, they finally
got it funny.
Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
Out of listening.
Speaker 4 (01:21:04):
So yeah, you're gonna do a boxing gothic very soon.
Speaker 1 (01:21:10):
Yeah, that's pretty much what we did tonight. Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:21:13):
It's not gonna be worth it, and would love to
get some scenarios going with it. Plus with the new
Aces stuff coming, we have some solo stuff going.
Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
Clinton was talking about that, so those packs that would
be good too.
Speaker 1 (01:21:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:21:29):
What do you think about it, Johnny? You're a big
time battle tech guy like die Hard. Okay, may more much.
It just which cult be more specific of them. There's
a lot of cults.
Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
Yeah, wa Ryan war Hammer, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
He was pretty bored. Maybe forty K is full of
a Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 4 (01:22:06):
Religion and all sorts of stuff. I thought it was
I thought it was quite interesting. But yeah, Johnny says,
you can't wait for ACES. I have the Kickstarter all
the ACES stuff that wasn't provided in the Kickstar also
alid BDF I just haven't printed out or anything. Yeah,
(01:22:28):
they are except for the scales. A little off on
some of them, but well.
Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Not necessarily because these guys look like they're bulked up,
so you're gonna be a little bit bigger.
Speaker 4 (01:22:38):
But when you put a Marauder against the Marauder in
this one, it's noticeably different. It's just some of the
bigger ones, Like, yeah, the Atlas didn't look too bad.
The King Crab is way bigger.
Speaker 5 (01:22:48):
But you know, they're fighting these monsters, so maybe that's
the whole purpose. Yeah, they are gonna be a little
bit bigger, They're gonna be bulkier.
Speaker 2 (01:22:57):
You know, it's just that the Yeah, Johnny said, the settings. Okay,
the minis are great for his pirate facts. Yeah, it
makes sense if you're doing periphery stuff. It would work
great for Periverery many Ormat said, it's from Blackstone Fortress,
which was way back. See there many warm ut No
(01:23:22):
matter what you do you can't get away from it somewhat,
you know, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
I will say one thing again.
Speaker 4 (01:23:31):
When I had to sell off some of my forty
k I still got pretty decent.
Speaker 1 (01:23:36):
Money back for it. Yeah, I didn't do too bad.
Speaker 3 (01:23:41):
The no and say those ones. I think I got
fifty bucks off that it was only one box.
Speaker 1 (01:23:47):
Yeah, you really don't.
Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
But you were figure. You recovered what you spent. Although
they got them painted.
Speaker 3 (01:23:52):
But so yeah, they got a pain forgot much more
than what I bought the box for. It was the
death Guard.
Speaker 1 (01:24:00):
Those got good money.
Speaker 3 (01:24:01):
Yeah, those got a decent amount.
Speaker 4 (01:24:02):
I sold one of these Harlequin uny characters sealed in
the box. The other ones that are like forty dollars
for the single figure listed any three times sold for
five bucks and it had to be relisted twice before
it's sold. Just people are not well right now. Yes, yeah,
now it is just a terrible time. That was a
(01:24:23):
bad time to sell anything. Johnny says he needs the
figure a faction paint scheme for the Gothic minies.
Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
I would look at some of the Chaos Army stuff,
to be honest, I'm kind of.
Speaker 3 (01:24:36):
With the Gothic. I'm thinking like gold.
Speaker 4 (01:24:39):
I was thinking corn the corner army paint scheme.
Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
Oh yeah, the dark yeah, the blood red.
Speaker 4 (01:24:46):
Yeah, that's kind of what I was singing. Or what's
the other chaos faction that's black and something else us, No,
not that, just mechaniciss.
Speaker 1 (01:24:57):
Oh those are cool paint schemes.
Speaker 3 (01:24:58):
Well, there was one I was looking that was Space Marines,
but they.
Speaker 5 (01:25:04):
Were like the metal God they had the dragon that
I wanted, Rich had it.
Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
Oh, I know that the they look like Space Marine
but they were were they generally gold colored, gold and black. Yeah,
it's the Emperor's chosen or whatever something like that. Yeah,
his personal guard or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:25:27):
Yeah, but there was like it was all metal. It
was really gold ones basically Custodis. Yeah, I think it was. No,
I know what you're talking about. You'd have to know
what you'd have to the next time. We can go
back to riches. Uh maybe where much says you needed.
Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
For a player on the Star Walls Fire Parsex game,
that works.
Speaker 1 (01:25:54):
I mean you can interchange that pretty universal. So there's
so many STL's out there now that you can kind
of get a lot of.
Speaker 4 (01:26:03):
You can get a STL tanks for yeah, tank.
Speaker 1 (01:26:08):
I want to say tanks a lot to Clinton for
giving me this bag of tank.
Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
Thanks for battle Tech tank you, yes, sir, A bunch
of just three D printed battle Tech tank.
Speaker 1 (01:26:19):
The Chaos Nights. Oh yeah that so, Johnny. Look a
bunch of little tank printed tank printed tanks. What do
you got in here? Like a dozen? Yeah? Probably?
Speaker 4 (01:26:33):
I mean they're duplicates that some of them are, you
know the same as like I think three of each,
but some little vehicles and yeah, just a little three
D printed ones.
Speaker 1 (01:26:43):
Just a bag and they're all on basis.
Speaker 4 (01:26:45):
Uh yeah, with the Chaos faces. Well, Johnny says he's
thinking of a bass coating and silver and dry brush
and a color on top make them look very used. Yeah.
Could they can look like they've been through a battle.
Or you could paint a based color and then dry
(01:27:06):
brush real real light dry brus the silver over them
and then maybe dry brush some rust color or something
to that. I found the rise of rust. And then
when you do the uh the one mud wash for
Citadel that makes a great rust color dirty. No, it's
(01:27:27):
the oh she's not the null and oil, but the other.
Speaker 1 (01:27:34):
I have used the Lejo Yeah, I wash, it's the side.
Speaker 4 (01:27:41):
Look, if you if you take the oranges rust paint, yeah,
it doesn't look that good til you.
Speaker 1 (01:27:47):
Wash it with this. Then that's why the one rust
the one that.
Speaker 4 (01:27:54):
It comes out real orange and when you do the
wash over it, man, it makes a great rust color.
I did it on some trains and stuff for the
World of Tanks and it worked well. But oh, I
can't think Maybe it does rise or rust might be
the color that's the orange and then.
Speaker 1 (01:28:12):
Oh jeez, yeah, I mean it might be that. And
what's that other time of the a k oh, well.
Speaker 5 (01:28:18):
Yeah, AK is it's Chaos space Marines is what the
ones I was thinking.
Speaker 1 (01:28:23):
How is that like mechanical looking?
Speaker 4 (01:28:25):
Yeah, I mean there's so many you can get. I
thought AK was owned by Lao with Maybe I'm wrong.
They use the same bottles and that's.
Speaker 1 (01:28:33):
What I'm thinking.
Speaker 4 (01:28:37):
Yeah, yeah, so, I mean that would be kind of
a cool color scheme too.
Speaker 1 (01:28:45):
I don't know, I haven't really saw that dragon.
Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
I don't know where the dragon is. That's what I
was looking for, but it was.
Speaker 1 (01:28:51):
The box set that you're looking at. Yeah, I don't
know what I'm gonna do on the gothic side of it.
I decided yet. I think your idea using the.
Speaker 2 (01:29:02):
Corn colors, I think it'd be kind of neat well,
because that's kind of what they've already done looked.
Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
Yeah, that looks I mean that's part of it. Yeah,
I mean the way it is, we just have to see.
Speaker 4 (01:29:15):
I'll figure out a paint scheme and then do the
Marauder first, because that'll be the command in it anyway.
Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
Either way, though, Johnny, it would be. It's good the
models are. They look pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (01:29:26):
There's more detail on them too, I think, and it'll
be more fun too.
Speaker 1 (01:29:33):
The Hell Drake Oh.
Speaker 3 (01:29:35):
Nice, Yeah, yeah, it's the Hell Drake.
Speaker 1 (01:29:39):
Yeah, that's a big one.
Speaker 3 (01:29:42):
It's not that bad. Seventy five bucks for it.
Speaker 4 (01:29:45):
Well, no, it's not terrible. But everything former is so expensive.
I mean a land Raider's ninety dollars now or something
like that.
Speaker 1 (01:29:54):
Look like Walmart.
Speaker 3 (01:29:55):
Yeah they're actually selling.
Speaker 4 (01:29:57):
Them, Yeah, they do, but sometimes when you go to order,
it's not there. The listing's there, but they don't actually
have them. I got a lot of stuff get canceled.
Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
But that's a cool guy. Yeah, yeah it is. They're
big too.
Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
That's what you need to fight along with your turinets
to go after keg and stuff. But I mean, things
are just that that's hard.
Speaker 4 (01:30:22):
To come up with fifty bucks or seventy bucks anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:30:26):
It is.
Speaker 5 (01:30:27):
That's why I like the one page rules where you
can get the whole group for twenty to thirty bucks
and then as long as you have a three D
printer or know someone who can print them, you just
print the living hell out of here. Yeah, because I mean,
all the ratman I did are all three D printed.
(01:30:47):
All my both of those boxes are all three D printed.
Most of my tier nids are three D printed. Grant,
They're not exactly the right ones, but they're close enough
to it.
Speaker 4 (01:31:00):
Mind going to do more terrain, you need to just
be I should be printing terrain while I'm working every day.
I'm sitting there with three D printer right next to me. Anyway,
I should be just printing off at least one piece
of train every day that I'm working. Just set it
to go and it and if something's wrong I can
address it.
Speaker 3 (01:31:15):
But I mean, he's got a little warped.
Speaker 5 (01:31:17):
But yeah, that's stuff that those are basically kind of
like the same.
Speaker 1 (01:31:22):
Rocks, Yeah, kind of.
Speaker 5 (01:31:24):
The little rock pieces that ice Wolf sent us all
that war battle tech stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:31:31):
They're not actual battle tech, but they're pretty close.
Speaker 4 (01:31:33):
Yeah, but now you can get I get all that
battle tech train.
Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
So I have the trees. I gotta try to plant yep,
I even print and see.
Speaker 4 (01:31:46):
Yeah, I'd like I'd like to print more of the
trees than they can just paint them.
Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
I can't find them. I know, you can never find
them and suck.
Speaker 1 (01:31:53):
The one the ones that you have.
Speaker 4 (01:31:55):
Yeah, well yeah, but the file comes in the starter
you purchase their starter filecit and it comes with the trees,
and you just three D print the trees. So that's
what I was thinking about doing, is just three D
printing a whole They're awesome and now you know, then
I can just paint them whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:32:14):
Well you could, you're there anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:32:16):
Yeah, that's why I said, I need to just start
doing that. And all you gotta do is change the
screen in my tray.
Speaker 3 (01:32:24):
See, I need to get.
Speaker 5 (01:32:25):
A new actual space because mine's all scratched all the
hill it got gouged somehow.
Speaker 1 (01:32:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:32:35):
The tree that they sit on the middle piece, there's
a nice big goug.
Speaker 1 (01:32:41):
We've had this.
Speaker 4 (01:32:43):
N scale trees for battle Tech. Is those things shed
like crazy, and I get tired of cleaning up the mass.
Speaker 1 (01:32:52):
Unless you can.
Speaker 4 (01:32:53):
Find a British or German company that makes plastic trees
for model railroad, it's all the stuff that's just gonna
leave crumbs everywhere. I just don't like doing that.
Speaker 5 (01:33:08):
Uh, Johnny said, I think I'm thinking of bass coating
it in silver and then dry brushing color on top,
making them look used.
Speaker 4 (01:33:18):
You would look very used, and then you do a
dark wash, a dark.
Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Wash or like a copper yeah, to make it look kind.
Speaker 4 (01:33:26):
Of rusted depending on the subject. Yeah, that would that
would make it used.
Speaker 5 (01:33:31):
Yeah, down towards the bottom, used like muddy kind of color.
Speaker 3 (01:33:36):
Let's see. He also said, I use N scale.
Speaker 1 (01:33:39):
Trees for batlet.
Speaker 4 (01:33:40):
Yeah, I mean batotic is actually technically Z scale, which
you almost find no Z scale stuff for trains anymore.
But N scale trees would work. But everyone I come across,
they just they shed so badly that Johnny just says
his I'm not shed And it depends on the trees.
You can get just plastic ones that don't. But like
(01:34:03):
I said, it's a British or German company that makes
those trees.
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
Well, didn't the hex tech.
Speaker 1 (01:34:08):
Those don't know. Those don't and that's why I want
to do the hex tech.
Speaker 3 (01:34:12):
More like round.
Speaker 4 (01:34:13):
They're just they're kind of yeah. But a lot of
the train stuff is.
Speaker 5 (01:34:17):
Yeah, you have a tree and the actual uh flocking.
Speaker 4 (01:34:23):
Yeah, and I I just it's always a mess and
I just got tired of dealing with it.
Speaker 5 (01:34:29):
You might have to go and take like the spray
scenic glue, yeah, and kind of spray over.
Speaker 1 (01:34:35):
It looks weird and sometimes it works great.
Speaker 4 (01:34:38):
But sometimes you get lucky and get some of the
Christmas display trees that are the right scale two and
they're all just plastic.
Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
But most of the time those are going to have
snow on them. But I have seen some that are
small enough.
Speaker 5 (01:34:51):
For I would say, look at like right now, I
know not there's not a whole bunch, but like the
Halloween stuff, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:34:59):
Going to be.
Speaker 3 (01:35:02):
Dead promptly that you could probably use.
Speaker 4 (01:35:06):
Yeah, the ally Express stuff, but now right now, I
hear it's hard to get stuff from Alley Express because
I see that on the RC forums more than anything else.
A lot of people get Alley Express stuff for rz's Yea,
it's just hard to get them right now.
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Well, A lot of being shipped from China.
Speaker 4 (01:35:24):
Yeah, that's well, Ale Express is China. It's the same
as tam MoU basically pretty much, Dude, the team MoU like,
once this terror crap is done, there are so many
buildings for the monster miniatures. The monster just plays like
that one on his desk that are just ruined city buildings.
They're super cheap. It's like you get this whole like
(01:35:44):
small cities cape for like twelve dollars and they're really cool.
But getting them is tricky.
Speaker 3 (01:35:49):
Right, It's going to be the hardest thing is to
actually like I'd.
Speaker 4 (01:35:52):
Love to get some just to put with my thirty
minute minute mission stuff, but it would also work for
some of the bigger scale terrain.
Speaker 1 (01:36:00):
Well, like Allie Express. It's it's what Johnny was missing.
Speaker 4 (01:36:06):
But I'm just weird wordiness for people who listen on
the podcast when we put it there, it's you don't
have one inch trees work from there.
Speaker 3 (01:36:13):
But no one inch will work for Battle Tech.
Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
Yeah, I mean the trees so they don't have to
be exact, but yeah, they'll work.
Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
He's just saying that that's.
Speaker 3 (01:36:21):
Not very well. I mean, I guess he's they're supposed
to be giant.
Speaker 4 (01:36:25):
So yeah, I guess that it's about the right scale.
It makes sense, and probably the ones from Ally Express
probably are all plastic or just not really flocked. Like
what we get probably is around here. All you get
is the modelrero stuff, and yeah it sheds like crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:36:40):
Yeah I don't, you don't. I wouldn't want that.
Speaker 2 (01:36:44):
But a lot of the railroad stuff just doesn't seem
to work for.
Speaker 4 (01:36:48):
So HL scale stuff works great for World of Tanks miniatures.
It's almost the right scale. It's not exact, but it's
close and scale's too small. So HL works great, but
again I don't want shady trees.
Speaker 5 (01:37:01):
Well, he's saying for his battles battle Yeah, so the
end scale is just a little bit and.
Speaker 1 (01:37:07):
Is really good.
Speaker 4 (01:37:08):
Yeah, the buildings aren't right. I mean, the buildings are
the right scale, but they're the wrong era. There are
very few in scale buildings that are right for BattleTech Battle.
Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
You can make it, you know, five thousand, you can
make it. Yeah, you're ten thousand if you want it, pending.
Speaker 1 (01:37:25):
On X tech stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:37:27):
Yeah, it's what it's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (01:37:29):
Well, hex Tech stuff is really.
Speaker 3 (01:37:32):
He's saying. The Alley Express ones are flocked.
Speaker 4 (01:37:36):
Yeah, I've not seen them so and that they have
not shown. Maybe that's just done differently than here.
Speaker 1 (01:37:41):
But the ones here they.
Speaker 5 (01:37:42):
Might use a different flocking, and they could use a
different glue.
Speaker 1 (01:37:45):
You just don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:37:47):
I mean, I know with some of the stuff that
I flocked, like the timberwolf up there that he got
from the Big One. Yeah, I took the there's flocking
at the bottom. I went and use the scenic spray glue.
Greg Bot, I don't know how long ago, but I
just spray that at the bottom and it kind of
(01:38:08):
just settles, but it dries clear.
Speaker 1 (01:38:10):
He does.
Speaker 3 (01:38:11):
And then I haven't had any of it fall.
Speaker 2 (01:38:13):
Out, Johnny says. The postal link on Facebook for him.
Walk About says, yeah, I got my Wi Fi back.
Speaker 3 (01:38:19):
Nice welcome back, wag.
Speaker 1 (01:38:22):
Yeah, I just need to I kept trying to tell
a lot about I'll look.
Speaker 5 (01:38:25):
In printland and see if it's close, and then if
it is, we'll just I don't have a problem most
of the time.
Speaker 3 (01:38:31):
I'll just keep out there.
Speaker 4 (01:38:33):
Figure if we had the files, we could just print
tons of them because they'll have the heck space and
everything already in and I believe that.
Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
We can just do a giant forest if we really
wanted to.
Speaker 4 (01:38:42):
Yeah, Johnny says they're cheap too. Yeah, yeah, Ali Express.
I mean sometimes you get what you paid for. Sometimes
you anything.
Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
Yeah, I kinda.
Speaker 4 (01:38:54):
But I've got a lot of RC stuff, not off Alley,
but the other one I can't work. The other one
is right now and not team. But now it's for
our csh and it's been just fine. I've not had
any problem with I mean, when you're ordering an aluminum
bumper or something, it's a car, it's.
Speaker 1 (01:39:14):
It's a bumper.
Speaker 4 (01:39:17):
Charles says. My daughter picked up a little package of
trees for me. I didn't use them because they shed
like all hell.
Speaker 2 (01:39:25):
One day, I was going to take him outside and
fry them with the clear seiler or spray and with
the clear Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:39:31):
You could do that.
Speaker 5 (01:39:32):
A dear non gloss a matted glossy kind of sprayed over,
just to lock it all in.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
That's that's an idea.
Speaker 4 (01:39:40):
It's sometimes you'll find multiple handling. It'll still come apart eventually.
But yeah, inexpensive not we know, yeah, we know what
you're out there.
Speaker 1 (01:39:51):
Johnny.
Speaker 4 (01:39:51):
You said you're saying inexpensive not cheap quality. Yeah, and
I only express it okay. I was looking at some
of the stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:39:58):
Some things are okay, some things are well.
Speaker 1 (01:40:00):
It depends too if it's if it's based in your
country or not. Like they have a lot of shipping
centers here the United States.
Speaker 4 (01:40:09):
Yeah, something like in Jorna does actually have a US facility.
And Jordan is the Chinese RC parts stuff. A lot
of their aluminum parts like suspension pieces for the RCAs
and so they're just fine, and they're cheaper. I have
no problem using their stuff. It's basically the same.
Speaker 5 (01:40:26):
Do not tell Kegan that he spends enough money on
those rcs. He would have found a tractor that didn't
even work. And did tell Crystal remember when you got.
Speaker 3 (01:40:36):
That John Deer tractor and had it ripped a part
up on the table. Yeah, Crystal was mad.
Speaker 1 (01:40:43):
Walk about said spray sealed my trees from China. Y.
Speaker 4 (01:40:47):
Yeah, I just at this point, I'm just gonna three
D print the x.
Speaker 3 (01:40:52):
Tech one, say the hex text. I thought those look good.
I mean, we got to figure out the actual paid scheme.
Speaker 1 (01:40:56):
But you print enough of them, who cares?
Speaker 4 (01:40:58):
You know? And the tree it's not like everything has.
Speaker 1 (01:41:01):
To be exact same shade.
Speaker 5 (01:41:03):
No, you know, if you get it just right, you
go paint, you know, even spray paint them, flip them over,
spray paint the hell out of with spray paint brown,
and then once that drives, tape off and then sprays up.
Speaker 1 (01:41:14):
Yeah, you can just airbrush most of it be done
with it.
Speaker 5 (01:41:17):
Yeah, or air brush or whatnot. I still haven't even
opened your airbrush. We need to get a compressor.
Speaker 1 (01:41:23):
It's still small compressor you could use, but you'd have
to we have.
Speaker 5 (01:41:27):
To unsew this window and I had to move all
my computer stuff to do something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:41:31):
I'm not Yeah, actually, airbrushing it's no different than you
three D printing. Really, Yeah, you're animizing water. It's it's
all water based. I mean the old stuff, like the
old model paints I was doing through the airbrush, where
you had to have actual paint thinner. Yeah, but the
(01:41:53):
air based stuff like all the Citadel water airbrush stuff
I just painted in the room.
Speaker 1 (01:41:59):
I don't. It doesn't go everywhere.
Speaker 4 (01:42:02):
No, it doesn't go everywhere. It goes barely goes anywhere.
He goes where you need it because you've got control
of the spray and you don't smell it.
Speaker 1 (01:42:09):
There's no.
Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
I mean you're atomizing pretty much water. I mean it's paint.
But really, as long as you have a backsplash, which
I just have a piece of an open cardboard box.
We put newspaper down, put a cardboard box behind it,
and it can airbrush.
Speaker 3 (01:42:27):
And it just sticks to the cardboard.
Speaker 4 (01:42:28):
The compressor I have doesn't run consistently. It only it
has no tank, so it just fills the line. So
as you airbrush, it just just push his air in.
But you can continuously airbrush. So even when I'm on
a call, I can airbrush and no one will even
notice the compressor rud. Now granted it's on the floor,
it's not by the mic, but you don't see it.
(01:42:51):
You hear more about sound than you do the air compressor.
Speaker 1 (01:42:57):
Walk about says he is right, airbrush and just spraying.
I mean really.
Speaker 5 (01:43:01):
Oh the way, my our room setup is with my desk,
I have my laptop, well, we have our Xbox over there.
Speaker 3 (01:43:09):
My laptop our I just put.
Speaker 1 (01:43:12):
It on the table and maybe run a fan in
the room.
Speaker 4 (01:43:14):
But I would just put up your bear, just open
up a box, Amazon box, shield, put newspaper down, and
just go to town.
Speaker 3 (01:43:22):
I just cut out the one box, leave the bottom
together and the drop together.
Speaker 1 (01:43:26):
Depends on what you're needing to do.
Speaker 4 (01:43:27):
Yeah, but that's true when you make a battle box
sometimes it's hard to see the other angles.
Speaker 1 (01:43:33):
But yeah, with the airbrushing, you're doing large and that's
great for when you're doing tanks for like World of Tanks,
Minis or Team Yankee. You've got a whole bunch of them.
Speaker 4 (01:43:41):
You just lay them out and just go, Yeah, it's
all gonna be one base color down. Like I've got
all the airbrush for the American Force, the Russian Force,
the German Force that Vallejo puts out. The actual airbrush
line ones just super water. They actually brush on great.
I use them with a brush because there's water down.
You don't need to add water to it. You just
(01:44:02):
put a little bit out of your palate and just paint.
That's what I do with the Citadel. I buy almost
all the airbrush line stuff now because it's easier to use.
It's it's already thinned and je.
Speaker 2 (01:44:15):
The Vallejo wood color I used was an airbrush that's
very thin. So I put a couple of coats on
it and you put a mild brown.
Speaker 1 (01:44:26):
Washing looks great. Yeah, hello, Jeff, how are you, sir?
Speaker 3 (01:44:31):
Yeah, I have a Russian green one that was an
airbrush one that I painted the ship.
Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
Yeah, I did that because I had all those T
eight's and everything and all the Soviet Now I don't
I just do it.
Speaker 3 (01:44:44):
You bought it.
Speaker 5 (01:44:45):
We couldn't find the actual one like this, and ended
up buying now because.
Speaker 7 (01:44:50):
That was the only NATO green I think is what
it was or something. It was the Russian one, but
it was for the storms that I paid. That's that
dark green, and.
Speaker 1 (01:45:01):
You you bought that. And Vallejo actually puts out a
prime says, where did you find that? Young girl?
Speaker 2 (01:45:09):
So, Jeff, I asked about that. Just give me an attitude.
So I called usedwives dot com and said I need
to do something about a trade in so so we'll
just take it from here.
Speaker 1 (01:45:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:45:24):
Yeah, Valo puts on an airbrush primer that actually works
pretty well. Big difference that haircut makeup makes.
Speaker 1 (01:45:30):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (01:45:37):
Just win the dang lottery and buy a new house
for miniature painting, Keg and ste that's.
Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
What great talking about.
Speaker 5 (01:45:43):
There was one up by the office that I told
him would be great if we could afford it to
just have as a game room basically, But I don't
know if I would want to leave all my games
over there and not be you know, no.
Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
One be there.
Speaker 1 (01:45:57):
Yeah. Isn't that weird how we're all attached to our stuff. No,
it's not.
Speaker 3 (01:46:03):
I mean, yes, there's an attachment to a point, but
I mean just on that top row alone is a
couple hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (01:46:10):
If you guys so much money invested, Yeah, you kind
of you don't want to think about losing all that
in a fire or something. All my books, for all
my gaming bok, you know what I've got for gaming books.
Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
Jeff says, you look good. Ash, Thanks, I'm just Choppoliver.
Now that's all good.
Speaker 5 (01:46:27):
You've always happen, man, Wow, I mean at least for me.
I mean that you know you're the last hope babe,
remember that.
Speaker 1 (01:46:39):
Yeah, that's true. One day he will eventually you might
move up. Maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:46:51):
In all fairness, my haircuts the same old haircut, so
it doesn't.
Speaker 5 (01:46:55):
Well, if you let your granddaughter do last night, she
would have made it look pretty.
Speaker 1 (01:47:01):
She wanted to spray my hair purple. I was like, nah,
it's okay.
Speaker 5 (01:47:05):
Got her some of that Halloween hairspray.
Speaker 2 (01:47:10):
See walk About appreciates me, Thank you, sir. Oh ho
ho you.
Speaker 1 (01:47:17):
I don't know. I take it as a compliment because that's.
Speaker 4 (01:47:20):
All I got Clinton. Yeah, oh ho ho uh. But
you know, we gotta just do what you gotta do.
Speaker 1 (01:47:32):
Sometimes. So we're walking about games out of h.
Speaker 3 (01:47:41):
Across the bon.
Speaker 1 (01:47:44):
I believe walk About.
Speaker 3 (01:47:46):
He's a couple of hours ahead of us.
Speaker 1 (01:47:47):
I believe. I thought he was in Australia.
Speaker 4 (01:47:51):
Makes sense with the name, but that doesn't mean.
Speaker 1 (01:47:53):
That's where are you are again, walk About? I'm sorry,
I don't remember.
Speaker 3 (01:48:00):
M Netherlands, GA.
Speaker 1 (01:48:06):
Thanks Charles can spam, but you know what, you're never
going to go bad. I don't know what's in him.
Wait a minute. A lot of people like spam.
Speaker 4 (01:48:18):
Yeah, if you if you needed it, if you need salt, spam.
Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
It's the hun thing to have emergency food. Yeah. My
mom used to take spam before it got really really bad.
We were kids, and she.
Speaker 4 (01:48:33):
Cut in the cube, put it in a like a
high thing with cheese and bacon across.
Speaker 1 (01:48:40):
I don't know. It was pretty good.
Speaker 4 (01:48:42):
There's a lot you do with spam, but.
Speaker 1 (01:48:47):
There's a lot you can't do with spam.
Speaker 2 (01:48:50):
Clinton remembers when I was working over where he was
at that it centers this thing saying don't watch out
for spam in an email. So me being me and
I copied a picture of a Canada spam put it
in there and sent back and told it is this
the type of mail I'm supposed to look for? They
actually laughed. They thought it was funny. Yeah, Clint Show
(01:49:13):
I t would drop in for enjoy.
Speaker 1 (01:49:16):
Knew that. Yeah, walk about two hours behind us.
Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
It's three fifty for him.
Speaker 4 (01:49:22):
Powdered eggs and spam army days. Yeah, oh you need
a little bit of hot sauce on it.
Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
Ours behind us, put them in the Pacific time.
Speaker 3 (01:49:28):
Yeah, but that could be any he's Canada, that can put.
Speaker 1 (01:49:33):
Him up near a last to talk about Saul.
Speaker 5 (01:49:36):
Oh my god, I believe he's Canada because there are
a couple of hours behind us.
Speaker 1 (01:49:41):
Pens where you're at.
Speaker 8 (01:49:42):
They share the same time zone as we do, and
like Hawaii, it's like for West coast, West Coast.
Speaker 1 (01:49:52):
That makes sense.
Speaker 3 (01:49:54):
Oh, who is Canada. There's a couple of them there
from Canada meet US Texas.
Speaker 1 (01:50:01):
Yeah, one of them was up in Canada. I remember
David Steve Nnix. Yes, he's he's Canadian.
Speaker 4 (01:50:11):
Chris is Canadian, Stephen Steven So we got a couple
of people from Canada.
Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
That we interact with on a regular basis. Ten hours
from Alaska.
Speaker 3 (01:50:22):
Okay, so he's up there are ways.
Speaker 1 (01:50:28):
He's an over homer. Jeff here, Jeff's still in the
United States, And yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:50:38):
He's not too far from us. A few but six
seven hours.
Speaker 1 (01:50:43):
I don't know. You haven't stalked him yet, have you?
Speaker 3 (01:50:45):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:50:45):
Oh so much.
Speaker 3 (01:50:46):
I know Chris and Reese.
Speaker 5 (01:50:51):
And McMurray are all about five hours from us because
they're Kansas City area.
Speaker 4 (01:50:58):
Yeah, Missouri, some Midwest still, well, that's where the march
the victories.
Speaker 3 (01:51:07):
Out out that way or no, Chris is in Illinois.
Speaker 1 (01:51:11):
Yeah, there's by Hannibal or.
Speaker 3 (01:51:13):
Something like that. He's not he's only a couple of
hours from US.
Speaker 4 (01:51:15):
A bigger gaming concentration in the Midwest or in the
middle middle of the United States center isn't either coast,
not that there aren't any on the coast. It just
seems like there's a bigger group of gaming stuff in
the middle of the United States. That's because I think
in the middle of and I state it's a lot
of people still playboard games and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (01:51:33):
I live in California, Okay, Columbia.
Speaker 3 (01:51:40):
So he was the other one I was thinking I
was in Canada.
Speaker 1 (01:51:44):
Yeah, then gawass, that makes sense.
Speaker 4 (01:51:52):
That was the other one I was missing on them.
Speaker 1 (01:51:55):
Who what Canada?
Speaker 4 (01:52:01):
Yeah? It's a crazy world, an't Yeah whatever, it things
crazier than it needs.
Speaker 1 (01:52:06):
To be, that is for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:52:11):
That's why as gamers just stick together and try to
maintain some kind of sanity.
Speaker 1 (01:52:16):
I guess I don't know what else you can do,
because I mean.
Speaker 5 (01:52:20):
We have a couple, well we don't talk to him
rarely anymore, by a couple of video gamers that we've
pretty much known since they're fourteen and.
Speaker 3 (01:52:29):
Watch them kind of grow up.
Speaker 1 (01:52:31):
Yeah, like almost two decades.
Speaker 3 (01:52:33):
And they're both in Canada.
Speaker 1 (01:52:41):
Yeah. Many Warmont that's who I was thinking of. Many
Warmont's a Canadian and that lives in Arizona. Yeah, Many Warmont.
He has fallen.
Speaker 4 (01:52:52):
Yeah, he escaped Canada moved to Mexico, I mean Arizona.
Speaker 5 (01:52:59):
And then.
Speaker 2 (01:53:04):
Oh they're not they're not doing so good out that way.
There's there's nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:53:08):
Going good anywhere anymore. Yeah, really, there's not.
Speaker 3 (01:53:11):
Oh, he's getting the fires over here.
Speaker 1 (01:53:14):
We're still in our little bubble here.
Speaker 5 (01:53:15):
But yeah, well we've been under that red flag or
whatever it is.
Speaker 4 (01:53:20):
You made a token Canadian knook.
Speaker 1 (01:53:26):
He's a nook kok. Yeah, it's pretty normal. That's okay.
You just got to get him in some cold weather,
you guys, so he can learn to appreciate hockey.
Speaker 5 (01:53:38):
Isn't he from the Midwest, Yes, he's from this way,
Waterloo area.
Speaker 1 (01:53:46):
I thought Jeff was from out here.
Speaker 5 (01:53:50):
No, I thought Brian West too. He has family out
this way, the Moins or the Buke or he's out
this way. I thought because he was looking, you know,
maybe buying a house out in Waterloo.
Speaker 2 (01:54:02):
Just keep talking because many warm I is hearing all this.
He said, he's gonna have to stop and interced.
Speaker 4 (01:54:10):
H Yeah, Reese's Arkansas, Arkansas.
Speaker 3 (01:54:14):
That's right. He just did move, didn't he.
Speaker 1 (01:54:17):
Did? Chris not Jay move to Missouri. I thought he moved.
I might be wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:54:24):
Well, remember Chris just moved. He was talking about that Iowa.
Speaker 1 (01:54:29):
Yeah, and Jeff Jeff was Waterloo. Jeff was in Waterloo.
Makes sense. I knew one of them was this way.
Speaker 3 (01:54:39):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:54:40):
Yeah, walk about as he gets feeling that's all right,
walk about where we can still we know what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (01:54:52):
It still kind of sounds like I will you can
still do it that way.
Speaker 4 (01:54:58):
Charles doesn't any it agrees today, Well that's pretty nice. Yes,
what it's fifty nine here? Yeah, it's not terrible.
Speaker 3 (01:55:11):
I mean it's a little chilli for me. But I'm okay.
Speaker 1 (01:55:15):
I got my shorts.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
You know what that means the next couple of days
you ain't having blanket.
Speaker 1 (01:55:20):
Wow, you steal it.
Speaker 3 (01:55:22):
I will be cocooning myself in a blanket.
Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
That's just kind of like a bear slash fan. I
still have a fan going, just says to walk about games.
Speaker 1 (01:55:36):
That's because you're a caduck the fan.
Speaker 3 (01:55:40):
Yeah, I sleep at the fan. Yeah, how cold it is?
Have a fan?
Speaker 1 (01:55:46):
It's cold?
Speaker 4 (01:55:47):
You got you kind of come home and it's like
got the air conditioner on and a fan and wrapped
up in a blanket.
Speaker 1 (01:55:52):
Why because my toes get cold? Why my toes get cold?
Speaker 4 (01:55:56):
But I'll be like, man, that's hot, you got the ace,
But why you rolled up in a blanket?
Speaker 3 (01:56:04):
Heater said seventy degrees?
Speaker 5 (01:56:05):
He comes in because the heater kicked itself on because
the house dropped lower than seventy degrees.
Speaker 3 (01:56:11):
It's hot.
Speaker 1 (01:56:11):
Turn the heater.
Speaker 4 (01:56:12):
Off because I'm working outside of mis you know, Oh
did they Jeff?
Speaker 1 (01:56:23):
Did the Canucks beat them? There? You go a little
bit of.
Speaker 4 (01:56:32):
A little bit of ice fun. Like I said, we
have a hockey team out here.
Speaker 5 (01:56:38):
But yeah, I don't know how well you can take
them seriously.
Speaker 3 (01:56:43):
Well, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:56:44):
We had fun. Way we went on Star Wars Night
and a few of them.
Speaker 3 (01:56:47):
That was the first time we went. Yeah, with the kids.
Speaker 1 (01:56:50):
I always thought it was. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:56:54):
Just the tanks outside the stadium are cool.
Speaker 1 (01:56:58):
Yeah, if that don't Yeah, there's still there. There's one day.
Speaker 3 (01:57:04):
There's one the Sherman up there.
Speaker 4 (01:57:06):
It's not a sureman, it's a patent or something like
that like that.
Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
I can't remember it.
Speaker 4 (01:57:11):
Supposedly we'll move under its own power, probably just they've
got it pinned so it can't.
Speaker 1 (01:57:17):
But apparently they can fire it up and drive it.
Speaker 3 (01:57:20):
And then they have like an anti tank.
Speaker 1 (01:57:24):
Yeah, artillery.
Speaker 4 (01:57:27):
I can't remember what it is, because you can actually
get that gun in all the tanks.
Speaker 5 (01:57:31):
It's yeah, it's it's those are the only two up there.
Speaker 4 (01:57:36):
It's an artillery and it's not a very good one.
But I mean, considering what it is, that would not
be one. I mean, I suppose it's better than standing
behind the gun pulling a cord, but sitting next to
the gun and the only thing defending he was a
small piece of metal.
Speaker 1 (01:57:51):
With a giant window. Got out of it.
Speaker 4 (01:57:52):
Like like you have absolutely no overhead protection whatsoever?
Speaker 1 (01:57:59):
Like well, I mean, yeah, exactly, fab plus cold equals sleep.
Usually what is the next game?
Speaker 3 (01:58:16):
And Ashton probably Trench Club?
Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
We're yeah, i'd say Trench Club. And we did a
practice run with Wingsgory. We got the went for that lost.
Speaker 3 (01:58:32):
Three freaking rounds, that's all.
Speaker 1 (01:58:33):
It took three rounds.
Speaker 4 (01:58:36):
We didn't put that one out before got decimated scenario.
So we're gonna redo that one.
Speaker 5 (01:58:43):
We can't put if we're gonna do the balloon again,
I have no problem bring in the British, but we
can't have those ag guns.
Speaker 1 (01:58:52):
That's what killed me.
Speaker 3 (01:58:54):
Well, I don't care. We're not gonna play with that.
One shot freaking took out two of my planes.
Speaker 4 (01:59:01):
Yeah, so the one that did a lot of damage
their JEF. So but I understand that's how it goes.
But you gotta give him a chance.
Speaker 1 (01:59:11):
Yeah, it was literally it was three rounds.
Speaker 4 (01:59:13):
It was one of those things we were We didn't
even repick her cards. My goodness, actually calm down like
we did. We did it. But I looked at him like, no,
this is not we shouldn't put this. It's just gonna
look like we rushed it or something.
Speaker 1 (01:59:26):
And we did it.
Speaker 4 (01:59:27):
We did it wouldn't have it would have been really
good to watch. It was just a slaughter. She flew
in and stuff. Yeah, we're we're gonna do more of
the Wings of Glory, that World War two stuff. So yeah, Scott, I'll.
Speaker 3 (01:59:40):
Have to do Maybe tomorrow, I'll pull out.
Speaker 5 (01:59:45):
The other box that has a built and I'll just
record myself building them.
Speaker 1 (01:59:51):
I'll just build the models. Yeah, because we got one.
We got one box that.
Speaker 3 (01:59:55):
Have not even we did it on boxing.
Speaker 1 (01:59:58):
That's it. Yeah, so it's still all of the models
need to be built. But the stuff is and.
Speaker 3 (02:00:05):
I don't have a three year is.
Speaker 1 (02:00:06):
Good, so it's it's good stuff.
Speaker 2 (02:00:14):
But yeah, the blimp we got in the scenario with
the blimps are interesting, and.
Speaker 3 (02:00:20):
It's unless I get more planes, which we don't have
enough of the same faction.
Speaker 4 (02:00:28):
Well, you need different, We need a couple of different
Some of the planes are just super hard to get.
Speaker 1 (02:00:35):
For World War One, well.
Speaker 3 (02:00:36):
We have a couple of German ones, but.
Speaker 4 (02:00:40):
On the blimp is on the scenario was the Germans,
but it was and you had two two planes, you know,
protecting it. Plus you had a gun under it to
protect it and to trenches and trenches where they would
use the MPGs to fire at the plane. So actually
just had three called for three of them to kind
(02:01:02):
of swing in launch their rockets at the balloon and
try to take out their observation. But she it didn't
matter what she did. As soon as you get within
range of those your ground, Yeah, d'artilla on the ground.
Speaker 5 (02:01:16):
The a guns use like a sea damage and those
are ten twelve, twenty.
Speaker 2 (02:01:22):
Up fast yep, Keigan says. Now you know how we
feel against the Tyrannids. Ashley somewhat.
Speaker 1 (02:01:33):
The expensive.
Speaker 2 (02:01:34):
The aircraft are a little pricey but nice. It depends.
I've seen some really, you know where you get the
good deals.
Speaker 1 (02:01:40):
There's not so much on eBay.
Speaker 4 (02:01:43):
I noticed you can, but there's some of these game
shops have this backstock.
Speaker 1 (02:01:48):
Yeah, and they just sell.
Speaker 2 (02:01:49):
It regular reasonable price, and you're like, I've been looking
at that, like I've got to squeeze some money on
and get a few extra planes in areas, re release
some of that stuff. So some of it's not your price.
People are price gouging the bombers. Oh yeah, and the bombers.
Speaker 1 (02:02:05):
See.
Speaker 4 (02:02:07):
I think we have any said that because he has
a store where they were always high. But no, it
was when I when I when I first count the
bombers were not eighty dollars.
Speaker 1 (02:02:18):
They were like in the forty dollars. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:02:20):
Well, it's like some of the Americans, like the Mustangs
and the Thunderbolt. It probably world War two though, yeah,
world War two. But they're over one hundred dollars a
plane now. Yeah, so I'm glad I have them all.
Speaker 2 (02:02:36):
But so those are the games that we've been lined up.
Like I said, we did do a break it out
and do that, but the thing just ended, Ashley.
Speaker 1 (02:02:48):
But then, yeah, I can still buy that. It ended.
Speaker 4 (02:02:51):
The tripods for like twenty bucks. Nobody wants them, which
is weird. But the other two, yeah, that was actually
a lot of fun and I got all the stuff
to play it with the World War two planes just
takes a different damage counters.
Speaker 1 (02:03:08):
It was a different approach I think too. And so
they people were although it did the did not thing.
I mean they they like sold out of that.
Speaker 4 (02:03:16):
They did, but then they didn't support it. They didn't
do anything more for it. That's that's the reason that
killed a lot of their stuff, is they just there
was no.
Speaker 1 (02:03:24):
Support for it. What scale of the planes their standard
one one thousand, I think one fourteen? How are you?
He says, hello, everyone, he just woke up.
Speaker 3 (02:03:45):
One and one for.
Speaker 5 (02:03:47):
Okay, so it would be what, I don't know what
that fifteen millimeter?
Speaker 3 (02:03:59):
Yeah, so little about twenty.
Speaker 1 (02:04:05):
Maybe like eighteen min.
Speaker 3 (02:04:06):
Yeah, eighteen twenty something like.
Speaker 4 (02:04:09):
Yeah, they're they're almost the same scale as some of
the model kits, but not quite. It's scale idiots, and
they did that so no one else but people still
will use walking about one.
Speaker 1 (02:04:22):
Yeah, walk About says the same one twelve twelve.
Speaker 5 (02:04:29):
Okay, that's smaller then, okay, we're going the opposite direction.
Speaker 1 (02:04:37):
That'd be about well, yeah, I guess, so.
Speaker 3 (02:04:40):
Let's say walk About would be the one that really
know that.
Speaker 1 (02:04:42):
Yeah, that's probably about right either way. It's a it's
a fun game and the blimp made it interesting.
Speaker 2 (02:04:49):
But like I said, we could have it's out there,
and I watched the play through, I'm like, people are
just gonna think that we just.
Speaker 1 (02:04:56):
Hurried up from it. Just it was it was, it
was not yeah, actually just didn't make it.
Speaker 3 (02:05:03):
So I did some damage to the blimp, but that
was it.
Speaker 1 (02:05:07):
So he doesn't move.
Speaker 5 (02:05:08):
Does it that the scenario we did was the first one. No,
it's just a stationary.
Speaker 1 (02:05:14):
It's an observation.
Speaker 5 (02:05:16):
Yeah, it was basically destroyed the balloon before your guys
get destroyed or it was set for I think twenty
rounds or something.
Speaker 4 (02:05:24):
Yeah, it didn't take twenty yeah, because.
Speaker 1 (02:05:28):
You want to earn twenty rounds. Although that goes really quick.
That the AA just took it out real real quick.
Speaker 2 (02:05:36):
Lots of damage walking about, says he prints a lot
in that scale. Okay, then you know what you're talking
about on the scale.
Speaker 5 (02:05:46):
So these are actually no, yeah, these would be smaller
than they're the tanks.
Speaker 4 (02:05:52):
Yeah, they're smaller than the tanks thanks for fifteen milimeters.
But their standard model kits and I think.
Speaker 3 (02:05:59):
What twenty eight what one eight or one to eighty
or something like.
Speaker 5 (02:06:02):
That, something like that or seventy five, one seventy five,
I think.
Speaker 3 (02:06:08):
It's twenty eight, which are basically the one page rules Warhammer.
Speaker 1 (02:06:15):
Yeah, yeah, but all those either way, whatever scale there,
it is nice.
Speaker 4 (02:06:24):
Just got to do shopping for the planes because it's
just too much price gouging on some of it. Yeah,
there's like a couple I need to finish up my
collection and I'm not paying any Bay.
Speaker 1 (02:06:36):
Prices for them. A couple of them I wanted to
get when it was out, and I should have.
Speaker 3 (02:06:42):
Should have picked up a whole bunch of them when
they were a lot cheaper than that.
Speaker 1 (02:06:45):
Well, the one store what was that place the trip
there in a strip mall where the Fairway is now,
there was a it was kind of them they had.
It's a little it was a little hobby store that was.
Speaker 4 (02:07:00):
Corner hobby Town, Hobby town, well and so in I
can't remember when in the country. It was that's the
box car hobbies, and it became something else and it
became hobby Corner.
Speaker 1 (02:07:14):
When they we were there for the Something cards, it
was the one little shop, but not the game shot
Oh that.
Speaker 4 (02:07:22):
Went there for the Tornado one day. Yeah, we were
the only only people in Iowa went into a.
Speaker 1 (02:07:27):
Hobby store waited for the tornado.
Speaker 2 (02:07:29):
Yeah as well, if we were gonna die, I would
have at least a place we like.
Speaker 1 (02:07:34):
But the other one.
Speaker 4 (02:07:35):
And anyways, he had some of those planes and they
were like forty bucks, the big bombers, And I was like,
I gotta come back.
Speaker 1 (02:07:43):
And I went back the following week and they were gone. Yeah,
they were clearing the way.
Speaker 4 (02:07:47):
I bought a few World War One planes. I might
even bought those two Russian planes for World War.
Speaker 3 (02:07:53):
There's your bombers.
Speaker 1 (02:07:55):
He bought them.
Speaker 4 (02:07:56):
Well, I didn't buy bombers from them. I bought the
bombers elsewhere.
Speaker 5 (02:08:00):
Talk about says a lot of companies use one in one.
Speaker 4 (02:08:05):
The problem was you don't have the base or the
cards or anything else to just print planes. Because you
need the base, you need the cards for your maneuvers.
I mean you can no, you couldn't guess at the maneuvers.
Speaker 3 (02:08:19):
Well, it's a similar one to say.
Speaker 1 (02:08:23):
I don't hear one of them.
Speaker 3 (02:08:24):
You could probably use.
Speaker 1 (02:08:28):
War gaming three D.
Speaker 4 (02:08:29):
Yeah, but that's not going to give you the cards.
So each plane has its own unique yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:08:36):
The glory, it's all their own. That's why you can't
mix them up.
Speaker 4 (02:08:39):
That's the big thing is you've got to have the
right cards for the plane. I mean, realistically, you could
use any and you'd be fine, but some of the planes,
their maneuverability is really dependent on the plane. Yeah, you know,
the maneuverability of a Mustang isn't going to apply to
a B twenty five bomber for example.
Speaker 1 (02:08:59):
Yeah. Yeah, a couple of.
Speaker 2 (02:09:02):
Of the bigger ones I wanted to get, and I
should have. I should have just bottom when I seen him.
But they should also continue because that there's a lot
of people that actually play that game.
Speaker 5 (02:09:16):
Well, the one Wings of Glory, we did what was
it at the beginning of the month, we had that
game developer on. He actually went and got the idea
for his game by watching us play Wings of Glory.
Speaker 1 (02:09:29):
Yeah, so that was wait for.
Speaker 5 (02:09:32):
His game to come out because that actually seems pretty fun.
So because I can print three D little modeled yeah,
the Dragon.
Speaker 4 (02:09:43):
Yes, you're just you're based on the games that require
the bass, which is what kind of the one I
don't want to SIT's the downsite with Leviathan's and you're
you're dependent on the base for everything, and you're it's
nice that your stats are on the base like that
little wing card, but you're still dependent on the base
(02:10:03):
for a lot of it.
Speaker 1 (02:10:04):
Yeah, that's the downside.
Speaker 4 (02:10:08):
But I loved Aeronautic Imperialis, but they stopped supporting it
when they quit making it, and all the plane stuff
shifted over to whatever it is now Horace Harris He
or whatever it is now, so it just the game
is just done.
Speaker 1 (02:10:28):
Are you talking about the one you played.
Speaker 4 (02:10:32):
With me at the Yeah, yeah, they just quit supporting
it because they quit putting it out.
Speaker 1 (02:10:40):
So there was nothing more for it.
Speaker 4 (02:10:41):
And then it all the planes scaled to the new
Epic or whatever it is for forty k and you
have separate rules for them there, so you can still
use the planes, but they played completely different.
Speaker 2 (02:10:52):
You don't have the honestly, I remember Josh went that
one night. Damn play. Yeah, I think you have the
one for the tower or whatever.
Speaker 1 (02:11:02):
Yeah, they were they were pretty cool.
Speaker 4 (02:11:04):
Those are pretty but but yeah they're just it just
when they no longer support it, and it's like, not
what you've done. It's like the depthist Titanic is isn't
technically supported anymore because they moved all the titan stuff
over to Epic or whatever it's I'm going to keep
calling it Epic because it makes more sense to me
(02:11:24):
in the Yeah, they're and and I'd love to get
into that. But again it's a forty K investment.
Speaker 3 (02:11:32):
Yeah, that's the one Greg wants.
Speaker 1 (02:11:34):
Not a four one K Yeah, yeah, Casher for one
K out.
Speaker 4 (02:11:40):
I would like to get in because I used to
play Epic back in the day and it was a
lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (02:11:44):
You can put more models on it.
Speaker 4 (02:11:46):
Well, there's a lot of cooler tanks and stuff now
for this scale, you know, and when you buy a
box of tanks it comes with three so walk about.
Someone was doing cards for the aircraft. You're not sure
who it was, as Charles says. If somebody's doing cards,
can't you just print the three D bases?
Speaker 1 (02:12:05):
I suppose to get front and clear. You could the
bases on this give you your firing arc.
Speaker 3 (02:12:11):
Yeah, I mean you can figure out the firing you.
Speaker 4 (02:12:14):
Could, because when you get one of the bombers, you've
got six firing arcs.
Speaker 1 (02:12:20):
Yeah, because you're which is you know, Yeah, I'm.
Speaker 5 (02:12:26):
Wondering I have to look into that bomber part, Ben,
because I know you can take out the egg guns
and the trenches.
Speaker 3 (02:12:33):
So I'm wondering if I couldn't just like use the bombers.
Speaker 4 (02:12:39):
To attack attack the ground targets first and eliminate them.
Speaker 3 (02:12:44):
Yeah, and keep making sure you don't attack me.
Speaker 1 (02:12:46):
Yeah, well, but the ground, the ground was killing me.
Speaker 4 (02:12:50):
Their bombing rules for that game were kind of cool.
I did like using the little cards to see where
the bombs land. I thought that was kind of fun.
I'm like, this is cool. There's no guessing or I
got lucky the third time and actually hit the target
with bombs. But walk about bases are available and see. Yeah,
(02:13:11):
I don't print anything clear, so you can make it clear.
Speaker 1 (02:13:17):
Clear resin.
Speaker 5 (02:13:18):
But I just but if the base has basically saying
just a raise, just enough of an arc, you can
paint that red. You don't have to see technically the
bottom underneath it.
Speaker 1 (02:13:31):
It's like, yes, it should be yeah, you know what
I mean. Yeah, but.
Speaker 4 (02:13:42):
I mean generally with three D printing stuff, I just
print terrain. Yeah you know, I'm not really I don't
want to print battle Tech figures, although I have bought
battle Tech files because you can get all the MechWarrior
five Mercenaries mac files to print for battle Tech in
that design.
Speaker 5 (02:13:59):
I mean, if there's this same design, it's the same
midel it should it matter be different.
Speaker 1 (02:14:03):
But they're cool now.
Speaker 4 (02:14:05):
The MechWarrior five they look different, but they're still cool
as af and I would love to have them, but
they are definitely different looking. They they've redesigned all the
mechs for the game, and some of I actually like
better in the game than I do in real life,
Like the catapult actually looks better in MechWarrior five Mercenaries
(02:14:25):
than it does in.
Speaker 1 (02:14:26):
The actual miniature.
Speaker 4 (02:14:28):
Because the miniature itself in BattleTech looks like an egg.
Speaker 1 (02:14:34):
I mean it does.
Speaker 5 (02:14:35):
It's Jesse could doesn't have anything for you.
Speaker 1 (02:14:43):
I mean it looks like an egg.
Speaker 3 (02:14:44):
It does kind of look like an egg.
Speaker 1 (02:14:47):
It kind of does.
Speaker 4 (02:14:48):
So it's you know, and it's not bad. It's not
a bad looking miniature. But the ones are the ones
in the game in the video game are more squared
off and look like a proper cockpit and everything else
that they're just cool looking, especially since you can get
the ones with the PPCs on it instead of the missiles,
because I play that a lot in there, trying to yeah,
(02:15:09):
instead of making all the max look the same characters. Yeah,
I mean yeah, but like the battle Master looks way
different in mcquarter five. It's still cool, but it kind
of looks like the Atlas in this one big square Blockie,
those are cool and.
Speaker 3 (02:15:29):
Those who look really badass once they're painted.
Speaker 2 (02:15:32):
Yeah, I think so walk about soys just type and
Wings of Glory STL three D bases and Google.
Speaker 5 (02:15:39):
I'll have to do that because all the three D
stuff is set up on my computer, which I'm gonna.
Speaker 3 (02:15:44):
End up hooking uh model up or my computer back
up to that secondary monitor.
Speaker 5 (02:15:55):
Because it's so much easier to try to do the
three D printing when you have two monitors.
Speaker 1 (02:15:59):
Yeah. Well you brought that TV in.
Speaker 5 (02:16:03):
I brought the TV in here, so we don't really
watch it anyway. So yeah, I just got to figure
out a place to now put that.
Speaker 1 (02:16:14):
Maybe put her to sleep. She's sounds like she was
snoring there for a second.
Speaker 5 (02:16:19):
She pushes her throat up when it starts feeling good
and it sounds like she's snoring.
Speaker 1 (02:16:23):
Yeah, it's just like did you pass out? Standing out
she's got here. It's because you're giving her.
Speaker 4 (02:16:28):
Scratching her ears. So yeah, I don't get dog any
time much anymore.
Speaker 5 (02:16:33):
So yeah, that's her trying to get as she thinks
you're a kangaroo. She tries to get as close as possible,
like you have a pouch. Yeah you're okay, baby girl?
Speaker 1 (02:16:48):
Will you guys, what do you think?
Speaker 3 (02:16:51):
Well, we're already over twenty minutes, so well.
Speaker 2 (02:16:53):
That's all right. We can go ahead and wrap it up.
Or do you think they're clean? Yeah, it's just fine.
We're gonna go ahead and wrap it up. You guys,
thank you for sticking around. I know it's getting me a.
Speaker 1 (02:17:04):
Dinner time and all that, but we appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (02:17:09):
It's always great to end the week this way and
to start the week with you guys, So thank.
Speaker 1 (02:17:13):
You for showing up and supporting us. We appreciate it.
Hopefully we didn't have any broken chairs this time, but
hopefully we were entertaining.
Speaker 3 (02:17:22):
Why do you keep moving your head up? You think
I'm gonna smack you?
Speaker 1 (02:17:24):
I week?
Speaker 4 (02:17:25):
What are you talking about? Toarles Wednesdays? My Wednesday tomorrow
is her Wednesday? Yeah, yeah, my Monday started on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (02:17:33):
