(00:00):
Welcome back to Geek Channel eight.
I'm Eric.
I'm Rosie.
And with us this week is.
Well.
Well.
All right.
So I wish I could give it a nameup top of my head.
That's my favorite thingI've seen recently.

(00:22):
It was this video short.
I don't know, it just got posted on oneof my homesteading things because it was
this guy who summons up a chickenand uses it
as a martial arts like combatant, and it was awesome.
it was ridiculous. And over the top.

(00:44):
And we were like, yes, that is exactlyhow I relate to my chicken.
Wait.
Cockfighting.

(01:12):
arts battle while, the chicken.
Mansour.
You know, like, sort of like necromancer, but for chickens, he controls chickens.
He hehe sings about how badass this chicken is
and how he's going to whip his asswith chickens.
I know my chicken.
you better know you're a chicken.
Yeah.
Wow. So that that was like,oh, chef's kiss goodness.

(01:34):
It was out of nowhere.
Oh. And I now I realize, oh,that wasn't on the hamster site.
That was on like a, like, tabletop role game site
Well, here in northern New England, there are a lot of homesteaders.
But also there are people who vacationhere.
And I started reading this bookthat came out,

(01:56):
I don't know, in the 20 tens, 2018.
I think, same year as our film.
And, it is awesome.
It is a horror novel called The Cabinat the end of the world,
and it is about, couple
two guys and their adopted

(02:17):
daughter, who's like seven years old,
and they are in a cabin
that's pretty much off the gridin northern New Hampshire.
So not very far from whereI'm recording this right now.
and then one day, some doomsday preppers
show up at the cabinand take them hostage.

(02:37):
And need them to,
do stuffto help prevent the end of the world.
the characters and the writing.
It's very believablethat there could be people like this
in, especially in the, like a post QAnon world.
And it's, is, total page turner.

(02:59):
I'm not finished with it yet,but I like tearing through it,
I'm only about 50 pages from the end.
Now, maybe 100 pages from the endat the most, Highly recommend.
Trembley is the author.
Paul Tremblay.
And, I guess it was adapted
into a film by M Night Shyamalan,

(03:22):
but I haven't seen the film version,so I can't speak to that.
But the book is awesome.
Anyway, Well, last night, actually,We watched, Charlie Hustle.
The matter of Pete Rose.
I just turned it on randomly.
I it just piqued my interestbecause sometimes
I'll want something to watch I don'treally have my heart set on anything.

(03:43):
I just want something to watchthat'll piqued my interest.
And this has been, kind of a staycationtype of weekend for me.
So, you know, I justI needed some downtime, so I took it,
that piqued
my interest because,I mean, from Cincinnati,
when I was little,we had the big red machine, and, so,

(04:04):
I had to watch it and it was interesting, you know,
I know Pete Rosemade some pretty controversial comments
about a sexual assault many years ago,and he really blew it off
and really was notit was not a good look for him.
They did mention that, during the series,I it was interesting.

(04:24):
It was neat to see old footage, local news and,
you know, to hear himsay out of his own mouth,
his own history and how he grew up
and, life as CincinnatiReds baseball player.
A very flamboyant one at that.
So, that's, probablyone of the most interesting things I've.
I've watched recently.

(04:46):
His being kept out of the Hall of Fame
has nothing to dowith the sexual assault thing. All right?
It's all about the gamblingabout the gambling, which is legal now.
Like, everybody can gamble on baseball, like.
it's everywhere, right? So.
now there's really no reason
for them to keep him out, in my opinion.
I mean, it's legal.

(05:07):
It's like keeping somebodyout of the Hall of Fame
because they had to quit a sportbecause they smoked weed.
Well, it's legal here. Yeah.
At least in Ohio, recreationallyand medically, it's legal here in Ohio.
So why would we, you know,do that to someone?
Did they ever delve into him?
I mean, apparently,he posted AP he bet on on the team

(05:30):
against the team, but they don't do thatbecause that would be.
That would be like, that's really.
he bet on the Reds when he was managingthe team over 50 times.
I know that much.
I don't know if it was for or against, but he bet on them,
like approximately 52 timeswhen he was manager

(05:51):
of the Reds.
Yeah. So.
That.
Okay, so that's a little bit dicier.
And I know baseball has a whole historywith the the White Sox.
Like,
there was a film that was filmedin Cincinnati called Eight Men out about

(06:16):
that, it was called the Black Sox Scandal, but it was about the White Sox team.
Yeah.
So, for the year 2018,it was, quite an interesting year.
Trump was, unfortunately president at the time.
This was the year that he madehis, shithole countries comment,
amongst other things, like making friends with Kim Jong un and,

(06:38):
and just being an all around, not greatrepresentative of the United States.
This was, also the year that,
we all found out that he allegedlyhad an affair with Stormy Daniels.
this was also the year,
unfortunately, of several mass shootingsin the United States.

(06:59):
Marshall County High School,Marjory Stoneman
Douglas High School, and there were a couple of others.
This was alsothe year of the MeToo movement.
This was the year that we sawHarvey Weinstein, finally
had to answer for his crimesas well as Bill Cosby.
And we later found out Jeffrey Epstein,
this was the year that Jeffrey Sessionsannounced the zero tolerance policy

(07:22):
for illegal border crossings and, the yearthat, we saw families being broken up
and put in cages on our borders, which is very un-American.
Sorry. Not sorry.
Hurricane Florence made landfallnear Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina,
which, if you've never been to that beach,I love that beach.
It's a lot of fun.
And I was really sad to hear it. Hearabout that.

(07:44):
That year, Supreme Court nominee Brett
Kavanaugh, became a member of the Supreme Court.
Even during the year of the MeToomovement, even though he was accused of
raping someone, you know,
Do you have any good news from 2018?
none.
It's all bad.

(08:08):
Right.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Vladimir Putin was reelected as presidentof Russia for another six year term.
All in.
This was also the year that, Kim Jong unbasically became a permanent president.
Wait a minute, wait a minute.
Putin was reelected to a six year term.
That means that he.

(08:30):
His term should be up this year. Right.
He was he was,he was elected again This year?
Sayingthey're very good at these elections.
This was very smoothly, and we didn't even notice.
Right, right.
See just right in there,Banksy's art piece girl with the balloon,
which he did in 2006, was sold for $1.4million.

(08:52):
Is that the one that, like, got shredded as soon as it, was purchased?
Did you see that?
Well, do you ever see the video for that?

(09:12):
Well, the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
We also had the 2018 Winter Olympics
in Pyeongchang,South Carolina, South Carolina?
Yeah, South Korea I'm doing great.
Kendrick Lamar, wins a Pulitzer Prizefor music that year.
since it was first established in 1943,the award has
historically been grantedto only classical music and jazz.

(09:36):
So that was a really, really big deal.
well last but not least, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series
defeating the LA Dodgers 5 to 1 in game
five at Dodger Stadium in LA.
baseball
and vacationing in a cabin in the woods

(09:56):
and maybe even chickens
are a summer thing,
Yeah.
I don't think there's
anything more summer than than, you know, baseball and going to the beach.
You know? Yep.
so that brings us to this movie,
And that would be the shark meter.

(10:19):
And this time it's a pretty big shark.
The Meg.
It was based on a novelwritten by Steve Alden,
it was originally acquired by Disney's
Hollywood Pictures in 1996.

(10:40):
And then they gave it to a screenwriterand then rejected that screenplay, give it
to another one of their screenwritersand rejected that screenplay.
And finally, just sort of stalled outand, you know, when,
when movies optioned the rights to a book, there's always like a time window
in which they have to release it,or else the rights revert to the author.
And that's what happened.

(11:01):
And so in 1999, the rights
reverted back to Steve Altman.
In 2005, New Line Cinema optioned it,
and they had an estimatedbudget of $75 million.
John de Bont was, tapped to direct it.
Guillermo del Toro to produce

(11:23):
it, and Shane Salernoto be the screenwriter.
But eventually New Line canceledthe project due to the budget again.
In 2015, and the rights
were then acquired by Warner Brothers
with a script by Dean

(11:43):
Garris.
And, EliRoth was originally supposed to direct it,
but he left due to creative differencesand was replaced by John Turteltaub.
In 2016.
It was a joint American and Chinese
co-production, as becomes very obviouswhen you see it.

(12:04):
a lot of these co-productions,aren't really true
co-productions accordingto, Chinese regulations, but this one was.
So it wasn't subject to the samequota system and revenue sharing that,
usually happens with imported films.
The principal photography started
in mid-October 2016,in Auckland, New Zealand,

(12:26):
and it ended in early
January in Sanya City, Hainan, China.
It was released by Gravity Picturesin China and Warner Brothers
Pictures in the United States.
originally supposed to
released March 2nd of 2018, and then,
they decided to move it to coincidewith the Chinese New Year in China,

(12:50):
which is a weeklong festival, in February.
And then it again got pushed to,
March of 2018.
So they originally wanted to make itMarch, moved
it ahead to February, then moved it back to March again.
They spent $140 million

(13:10):
on global prints and advertisementsfor it, after it made 16.5
million on its first day, weekend
estimates were at 40 million.
It went on to debut at 45.4 million, topping the box office and marking
the best solo opening for Turtle

(13:31):
Tom'scareer and for, Jason Statham's career.
So, it was their biggest filmto that date.
It made 21.5 million in its second weekendand then 13 million in its third,
finishing second behind crazy Rich Asians.
times, it

(13:51):
debuted to $101.5 million
from 96 countriesin other areas of the world,
for a worldwideopening of 146.9 million in China.
Not surprising, since it's a ChineseKo release.
Was the second largest after the US,or possibly larger than the US.

(14:14):
If we're only looking at the openingweekend, it grossed 50.3 million
and it ranked number threeat the Chinese box office.
Just a minute, folks.
Yes, That's all it takes to visitour refreshment counter in the lobby.
There, you'll find popcornand an assortment of popular candy bars.
The players every taste.

(14:36):
What I paired with.
This isn't that exciting, but it is what you would expect
that I would pair with this.
which is popcorn, because this is a popcorn movie.
Oh, yeah.
I had popcorn, I made, white popcorn,
which is my preferred type of popcorn.
And I had, beer with it.

(14:58):
Nice.
Had anShall we jump in to talking about this?
Sure.
it opens with Jason Statham,
who by this point inhis career is a big star.
He is a rescue diverwho is sent to rescue,
the crew of a nuclear sub that is being, rammed
by an unidentified object.

(15:21):
They're forced to flee, and he has to make a difficult decision
to leave two crew members behind.
And, they die.
Doctor Heller,
who was one of the survivors, basically denounces him
and says that he's psychoticand that he should have saved them.

(15:42):
I will say that the opening titleswere cool for this.
Like, they really got me into it.
They were not overdone.
the music and everything was ominousand got me right in the mood for this.
I enjoyed the movie the entire time.
It held my attention.
that's very important because I have ADHD.
But also,

(16:05):
you know, he said he told themthat there was something out there
attacking the whole. Right.
And then the moment that kind of got me inthis scene
was when Jonas decides, all right, we got to go.
We got to go.
I know there are people inside, but we got to go.
And so he pulls outand he had to leave people behind,

(16:27):
and it seemed suspicious at first.
You know, they kind of made itlook that way.
They alluded to the suspicion, I feel likeby the look on his face when he was
pulling away, because then all of a suddenthe ship blew up.
And I don't know if he rigged that ship.
I don't know if that questionwas ever answered,
but it made me suspiciousof him for a while,

(16:49):
think, when it blew up and I was like.
Well, it doesn't at this point, it doesn'tmatter, you know, to up so quickly
if they had stayed.
Yes, they were going to die.
And, you know, I think it was greatbecause it immediately throws him
the question, gives him that, hour of,disrepute that seems to be
kind of important if you're going to bethe guy hunting a shark.

(17:12):
I think that might actually be a thing.
I'm. I don't have as much shark movieexperience, but, I mean,
it's almost like it seems like,oh, no, those guys are always crazy.
They can't have any normal guysdoing that.
So yeah, it gives them the aura of, of,
some of the guys. Right. Some wrong

(17:34):
fast forward five years later,
there's billionaire Jack Morris,
who I think is like, is played by,that dude from the office.
Rainn Wilson.
Rainn Wilson. Yeah.
Now, if you are going to get someoneto play a Elon

(17:54):
musky sort of guy,
what do you think of this casting?
A-plus. On the casting for that one.
Absolutely.
Oh, yeah.
I, I them, I thought,I honestly, I like him
a lot better than I do in real life, but there was,

(18:23):
Yeah.
Oh, is.
before we get too far into what happenshere, I just want to throw this out there.
speaking of billionaires and the C.
This was five years before the ocean
Gate submersible implosion.

(18:45):
So this billionaire
funded, this research facility called mana one.
There are two oceanographershere, doctor Min Wage Yong
and his daughter, Sue Yin.
And, they're exploring a deeper sectionof the Mariana trench.
That was, concealedby a thermocline of hydrogen sulfide.

(19:07):
the submersible is pilotedby, a Japanese scientist
named Toshi, who He's the samurai guy in heroes.
Right? Love that guy.
Yeah.
He's I, I saw the I was like, yay! And.
Yeah.
Masi Oka is his name.
There's also an Americanscientist called The Wall.

(19:31):
And he's
played by, a guy who's not American.
Olafur Dhari Olafsson.
Possum.
I don't know if that's, like,Norwegian or Swedish or something.
I I'm not that familiar with him.
And then there's, Jonas's ex-wife, Lori.
They're all, attacked and,

(19:52):
trapped by some large creature.
of course, there's only one personthat can save them.
Of course.
Hellerthey kept Heller out of the loop on this.
They kept him out of loop. And they didn't tell.
They did not tell our our dude about himeither.
It was a lot of back and forth, like.
Oh, but he's the only one.

(20:12):
Was like, no, but I don't trust you.
He was crazy. Crazy.
I He left all those people behind.
Yeah.
No, not at all.
Mac James Macready And, Doctor John.
They go to Thailand to recruit

(20:36):
Jonas, who's, like, you know,
he's having his, like, bond moment.
Remember? Remember when we watched, Yes,definitely.
after Vesper Lynd dies and he's, like, hanging out somewhere in South Asia,
you know? drinking a whole bunch.
I think Rambo did that, too,That's what I was thinking of.
That's the.
That's the.
I'm like, oh, yeah.
That's like,oh, the hero goes Lex's wound.

(20:58):
And the place where they all calls cheapand oh, you know, it was
it was interesting.
I'm like, so he owned a boat there.
And as the owner was irresponsibleabout maintenance,
that just was a weird note to me.
I'm like, I don't like passing.
Well, okay,so that's the thing, but whatever.
Yeah.

(21:19):
to care or something.
I don't know, he looks likehe was on a years long bender.
Yeah. So.
Oh my God.
Yeah.

(21:41):
Jason Statham, by the way, competed
you know, in the trialsfor the Olympics, for swimming.
So he he is definitely in his elementhere.
Yeah.
Because they did give us ladieslike one shirtless scene.
I have a thing for.I have a thing for hot ball guys.
What can I say.
I, I,I'm practically married to one anyway.

(22:03):
Okay.
Well, since all the guys on this zoom are bald,
I think that's okay.
You can say that.
Hot ball guys, for the win.
Suyin doesn't want to wait,
and she just takes one of the, glider?
It looks like a Jetsons.
Like a Jetsons car. Like underwater.

(22:25):
Yeah, I really wanted to hearthe Jetsons sound when she took off. But.
Yeah. The.
So shegoes down and attempts to rescue, but
then she gets attacked by a giant monster, which ends up
not actually being the star monster here, but a giant squid.

(22:47):
Yeah. Yeah.
20,000 Leagues under the sea style.
So that's cool.
I give it points
because I wanted to see a giant squid, and I got a giant squid. So,
she is saved.
Question mark.
When a ginormous shark attacks the squid.
And that's the first time we see the Meg.

(23:11):
Basically a megalodon.
So what we're dealing here is basically, this becomes a kaiju movie.
It is a giant shark.
It is essentially a dinosaur.
A shark. Believed to be extinct.
And, what they figure outis that when they went through
the thermocline, they, punched a hole to this other ecosystem
where, Megalodons lived.

(23:32):
Dan and Meg escaped.
All right, more than one.
But we'll learn more. Oh.
Don't don't, don't.
You just gave away a plot twist. Okay.
decide they have to kill it,
Suyin says we should explore
non-lethal options first.

(23:55):
Oh, my God, I know.
I was like, really?
and one of the best lines of the movie,Jonas says
for the mega, for us.
Which is,
after all, the only appropriate response
to that.

(24:16):
he manages to, in one fell swoop,
rescues, the scientists, the student and and his ex-wife.
You know,by overriding the controls on the sub
and making a forced dive,he distracts the shark
and then manages to rescue

(24:36):
his ex-wife and the wall.
In the wall.
character, non-Chinese character,but Japanese character,
the Japanese scientist, that we noted earlier,
sacrifices himself Yes.
so that they can escape.
By basically hitting the seal, which was kind of like reverse, you know,

(25:03):
card of what Jonas did during that rescuewhen he left all those people behind.
But of
course, you know, Heller'sgoing to blame it on Jonas again.
Of course.
And he does.
my second favorite line in therewas that living fossil eat, my friend.
Which is just, like the cheesiest line.

(25:24):
It's just like.
So they basically put Suyinin a shark proof
tank to shoot the Meg with poison.
speargun, thing. And, it basically works.
They kill the Megand haul it up onto the ship.
Everybody's high fiving and whatnotwhen out of the blue,

(25:45):
a second bigger Meg.
It's a mega.
Jumps and out eats the wall.
Who happens to be, like, hanging out in the water?
And the original Megthat they caught and, goes back down.
So now they have a bigger problem, literally.

(26:05):
Yeah.
In the biggest nope ever, I just. Nope.
Doctor Zhong is
injured, Doctor Heller basically, redeems himself by sacrificing himself to,
save everybody when his, ship capsized.
Maurice, the billionaire told them all Don't worry.

(26:27):
We've informed all the governments, and, they're going to send destroyers
out to torpedothe giant shark, and whatever.
But secretly, he hasn't told anyone.
Except for a team of mercenariesthat he hired.
And He goes out with them,
they're going to kill itwith depth charges
because he doesn't want to dealwith all the lawsuits.

(26:49):
Jack Morris's death scene was amazing.
I mean, we cannot sleep on that.
as a reminder, that's Rainn Wilson
the part that I remember the most, which I was like. Yes.
Carmel. Yes.
he's out there to try to,you know, kill the make himself basically
to save his own ass because he mentions, you know, I'm going to get sued

(27:12):
all over the place if more people diebecause of my whole project.
So what does he go out to do?
He lies about the governmentknowing about it,
and then he sets out with his own shadyass crew
that nobody else knowsanything about to kill the Meg.
And what happens?
The Meg eventually kills everybody, but the best scene is when it

(27:35):
when it kills Jack Morrisbecause he's, like, holding on to a thing,
you know, like the remnants of the boatthey were on or whatever.
And the shark comes up behind himand just chomps,
and all you see left is his handstill gripping on to the side of the boat.
And I was just like, that's just glorious.
Thank you.
Thank you for that.

(27:55):
He really have his, tech bro moment.
You know, I'm going to handle this myself.
I got I got,I got money, I'm. I throw money at it.
We're going to blow it up.
Even when this guy saidit's dead, he's like, drop another one.
I'm not going to get eatenby some prehistoric fish.
Yeah.
when they figure out they had
killed the wrong thing, they kill the whale, Yeah,

(28:19):
right.
It's like, oh, God, give me out of here.
That's another lawsuit.

(28:51):
Yeah.
I know it was the caduceus moment
of the movie.
Yes. like I said, I'm like,I kind of like him better
than most of these guys, but, yeah, they they made him.
You made him
glad that he was like, yeah, dude, you had this coming like ten times up.
Yeah.

(29:12):
You literally begged for this,
Yeah.
That's awesome.
when the team figures out that he did thatand no one's coming to help them,
they decide they're going to have to killthe Meg themselves.
Meanwhile, the Meg heads for Sanya
Beach in China, which is a popular tourist destination.

(29:34):
And it's the water is filled with people.
It looks like a bowl of Fruit Loops.
Yeah, becausethey're all on multi-colored, rings.
Yeah.
the Meg comes to eat is Froot Loops, but Jonas is in pursuit
with, another submersible and managesto stab it in the eye.
then the blood attractsa whole bunch of other sharks who eat it,

(29:59):
and, hebasically, reunites with everybody.
And that would be the end of all.
We have the hintthat more than one Meg might have escaped
How many eggs are there?
I was a little skeptical going inbecause I was like,
how are they going to make it believablethat a Meg still exists?

(30:21):
And we'd never seen it,
and they actually came upwith a pretty good way of doing that.
They did the Lost World thing.
They did the lost world thing.
The lost world trope is basicallythere is in the middle of some very remote
place, like Antarctica or the Amazonjungle or something like that.
There's this lost valley, usuallywith cloud cover that you can't see

(30:44):
it, and dinosaurs still exist there
whenever they did that, except on the ocean floor.
And it actually kind of worksbecause the thermocline is a real thing.
It's theoretically possible.
Oh, yeah.
now I don't know if it's possiblethat a megalodon
or Megalodonscould survive all the way down there.
You know, even if it was climate controlled,
because of would there be enough food?

(31:06):
But aside from that,
the science is sound enough,
that it's plausible that you can, like, suspend disbelief for that part.
Or at least I can.
Yeah. I like it for a popcorn movie.
I'm like, that's pretty good.
Not not not,you know, don't think about it too hard,
but it's pretty good. I Yeah.

(31:29):
It's better than The matrix with humansas living batteries.
It's better than that.
let's face it, we all enjoy the, matrix
despite that very weak point, so why not?
I'll tell youwhat, my the weak point in this for me is.
It's the fact that beforewe get to modern one, that original scene

(31:50):
where the nuclear sub is being rammed bysomething we later find out that's a Meg.
Well, how is that possible?
Well, unless the nuclear sub itself
went through that, thermocline and released Meg's already.
Not.
there would have been Meg's,for five years,

(32:11):
roaming the seas without any contactwith humans or whatever.
So that's the one partwhere it breaks down for me.
Unless somehowthe nuclear sub got in and out without,
making a hole in the thermocline,which I don't.
That just doesn't work either. So.
one thing they mentionedwas the reason why there was a hole in the
was because when this mega attacked,

(32:32):
that research vessel lateron, it knocked into a, a thermal vent,
and there was a spike, or like a column of hot, water and gases
Oh, yeah.
You're right.
Okay, I am, I stand corrected.

(32:54):
So the the film does not have a plothole there that that could be possible.
Yeah.
they never really say where the wherethe nuclear sub was.
And I mean, I'm guessingmaybe in the same spot.
Well, it said it was saidit was in the Mariana Trench.
So we can assume thatit was the same spot. Yeah.
You know, if this movie were

(33:14):
to come on to TV again, I would watch it,I will sit through movies on it like.
And I like this film.
It was entertaining.
plot seemed actually plausible.
The graphics were great.
I really don't have any problemswith the story at all.
I expected it to be a lot more
flashy. Hollywood.

(33:36):
Typical special effects kind of movie.
And it wasn't as much like thatas I expected, which I prefer.
I don't like it when movies are like,
here's the part where we're goingto introduce all the characters,
and this is this stereotypical character, and this is this stereotypical character,
and this is this one,and this is this one,

(33:58):
and here's the characterthat's going to get killed off
within the next five minutes,it was nice walk into a movie,
not knowing anything about itand being pleasantly surprised.
I gotta tell you.
For me, what was struckme was the structure of the movie.
Where even though Jason,
you know, he was his character, definitely the main hero.

(34:19):
Everybody got to do stuff, and everybody was like, oh, thank you.
When they. When they saved each other.
I mean, even, like, even the billionairegot to do something nice for,
you know, like saved upfor which I can't remember.
She's playedby, the Ruby, Ruby rose, Ruby Rose person.
Yeah. she played jacks.
she's a bad ass man. her.

(34:53):
She really does.
have a wisecracking like, he's best,but he's got this,
you know, these best friendswho they're all cool with each other.
Everybody has gets to makea different sacrifice.
Now, I might be reading somethinginto that because I, read some essays
that indicate that there's more what,a Chinese audience wants to see.

(35:17):
So I might be reading into that more, but even in the in, Jason gets rescued
from all the schooling sharksby his love interest, which is super cool.
That was awesome.
I was actually really surprisedbecause they showed her having, like,
first Yeah.

(35:39):
if they would be okay with that.
That seems like something.
And, you know, it's thirstyfor for this white dude.
But it all worked out.
Everybody seemed to have a good time.
I mean, not the people died. I'm just
low key.
I felt kind of like.

(35:59):
And this is probably.
Yeah, me projecting it remind me of a, apretty good, like,
roleplaying adventure, like a One-Shotwhere, you know,
everybody has these different skillsand stuff, can participate and contribute.
there is one character who's way
definitely elevated over the others, but,Everybody gets to contribute.
And, honestly, it's a definitely a horrorone shot.

(36:20):
You never knowif you're going to make it out of that.
it reminded me a little of the abyss.
the underwater research stuff.
Yeah.
the crew reminded me sort of of the abyss,
which is kind of a riff off of the SpaceMarines
and Aliens anyway, because it was,you know, same director, right?

(36:42):
James Cameron.
But, it had that feel to me I liked it.
I didn't love it, but I liked it.
I would watch it again.
Probably will watch it againsomeday, I give it a thumbs up to
Okay.
