In this episode, we joined by guest, Dr. Yalonda JD Green, an interdisciplinary artist and academic librarian from Detroit. She talks with us around preparing our own archives and when to partner with external institutions.
Dr. Green has had her poetic work appear in TORCH, Reverie, Mythium, various anthologies, bus shelters, on stages, and other creative spaces. She has been awarded fellowships from Cave Canem and American Library Association Spectrum Scholars as well as residencies at the Fine Arts Work Center and Delaware Writers Retreat. As a versatile performer, seasoned educator, and former children’s librarian, JD loves to play. She has gleefully participated in frequent musical collaborations, voiceover and improvisational projects, studio and stage work, documentary and indie film, youth music camps, children’s television shows, and many more community-enriching experiments.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
