• To create a helper - to accomplish what God requires of man (multiply, dominion, rule over)

• Fit for him - alongside, complementary, like

• Both are needed to fulfill what God wants for man

• None of this is with Adam, with man - man does not even know what he is missing

• Naming the Animals

• Another time conflict - New Animals Created or Created Animals Paraded

• Cements something in Adam’s mind - there’s no one for me

• Cements the helpmate’s station - alongside Adam

• The first act in Dominion and Subdueing (Naming Denotes Authority) - Not Sovereignty

• The Operation

• The LORD God is performing the surgery

• He caused the deep sleep

• He performed the surgery (removed the rib and closed up the space)

• He fashioned the helper from what was taken from Adam

• God brought the helper before Adam (much like the animals)

• Realization that finally there is someone for me

• Gave a name to the helper - Woman

• Realized her origin - out of man (complementary to him)

•  The Proclamation 

• Because the are suitable for each other the institution of marriage and family is made

• The man leaves their current family bonds

• The man cleaves to his wife (one wife) 

• Publicly establish the covenant between the two

• Have their own family

• Everything was as it should be - no shame and no sin
