Let’s Chat!

The line between breaking and rebuilding blurs in this compelling episode where we transition from week one to week two of our psychological thriller series. What began as a simple story about a grief-stricken hacker living in his mother's basement has transformed into a profound exploration of identity collapse, memory fragmentation, and digital consciousness.

Our protagonist discovered more than just a conspiracy when he followed a link from his deceased friend—he found Unathur, an ancient system that knows his name and watches from the static. Surrounded by compelling characters like Orilla Moss (the secretive government agent), ICU-93 (the female hacker defying stereotypes), and his slowly fading mother, he's beginning to experience echoes from alternate versions of himself. The system hasn't just selected him to join it; it wants him to become it.

This series speaks to the parts of ourselves we've buried, the versions of us that didn't make it, and the echoes that still know our names. Week two promises an emotional, spiritual, and psychological storm as we witness our protagonist fracture completely. Yet within this breakdown lies the podcast's true message—breaking is sometimes necessary, but the real story is how we rebuild afterward. Like many of us who become "functional depressives" during life's challenges, breaking and repairing in cycles because complete collapse isn't an option, our protagonist's journey mirrors our own resilience. Life isn't about succeeding "because of" but "in spite of" our circumstances. What if Unathur chose you? Would you break? Would you rebuild? Subscribe now to discover how our protagonist navigates the storm ahead, and perhaps learn something about your own capacity for resilience along the way.

"True mastery is found in the details. The way you handle the little things defines the way you handle everything."

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello and welcome to the Gentleman's Journey podcast.
My name is Anthony, your host, and welcome to the end of week
one, beginning of week two, andwhat I always like to do in
these series is kind of break itup now, kind of give you some
thoughts, kind of what you haveto look forward to and kind of

(00:23):
give you some behind the scenessituation on this, so to kind of
catch you up on everything.
You know, this week wasn't justbeginning of a story, it was
the beginning of, you could say,a disruption.
Right, we met a broken man inmid collapse.
You know he's grief stricken,he's lost, he's living in his
mother's basement after a hugebreakdown.

(00:43):
But then something happened.
You know it was a message froma dead friend, a link.
You know the strange website, you know a countdown and a voice
in the machine.
And once he opened, really, that link, everything started
unraveling for him, if you thinkabout it, because he just

(01:04):
didn't find a conspiracy.
He found something older, something stranger, a system
that knows his name andsomething called Unather that
watches him from the static.
And along the way, we wereintroduced to Orilla Moss, the
government agent from Section 4,some secrets of her own.

(01:25):
And with this.
We're not sure if she may be anenemy, but she's definitely not
a friend in this.
And then obviously we haveICU-93, a hacker from his past
who was never who he thought shewas.

(01:47):
You know, she might actually bereal, and that's.
That's something that you wouldsee a lot in these hacker
things where, you know, a lot ofpeople just assume if you're a
hacker, you're, you're male andshe was a female we and we'll go
more in depth on that here, especially in the next coming
episodes Then obviously zerotrace.

(02:08):
That's his the kind of thingthat's that's keeping him
somewhat grounded, you know, but, as you can see, it's starting
to fracture, you know, becausehe's not giving it the attention
that it deserves.
And then, obviously, you knowyou have his mother it the
attention that it deserves.
And then, obviously you knowyou have his mother, you know,

(02:30):
who's fading slowly, you know, and the problem is that she has
a son who's disappearing deeperin their memory.
He's being more reclusive andyou know he's seeing things that
he was never supposed to see,you know, and it's kind of sad,
you know, but that does change.
So what's I guess you could saywhat's really happening here is

(02:51):
that this isn't a story justabout a hacker.
This is a series about recusion,or recursion.
I guess I could say it would bethe right way to say it.
You know, it's about memory.
It's about an identity collapse.
It's about what happens whenthe system decides to select

(03:16):
somebody right To ascend butthen decides it might.
You know they might be toopowerful.
Somebody right to ascend butthen decides it might.
You know they might be toopowerful.
You know, each episode itreveals pieces of that.
Right that the system deletedhis ability to forget this time.
Right, he was starting to seeechoes beginning to surface from
alternate versions of himself.
You know Unathur startedchoosing him, not to join it but

(03:39):
to become it.
And Moss, you know, like kindof before and this will be
really starting to come intoplay is that she was chosen once
too, but she failed, or was shestopped?
We don't know, and that'ssomething that'll definitely be
revealed, you know, here in thenext coming episodes.
But here's something you canknow for sure will happen next

(04:02):
week right, everything escalatesWith his mom that escalates.
Ma starts interfering moreactively.
Unather really starts cominginto play with this and there's
some things that start to reallyblur with him.
Trust starts to kind offracture all over the place.

(04:23):
Love is being tested and what'sreal begins to shift.
Because, see, now we're on thesecond part of this series,
right, and this is always whenthings amp up.
That's what I love to do.
I like to really amp things upnow.
I like to build the story andthen we get to that top of the

(04:44):
roller coaster and then you lookdown you're like, oh my gosh,
that's what we like to do hereat Gent's Journey, really make
it exciting, just kind of pullyou all the way to the end.
I'm going to tell you thisright now, guys, because I'm
going to tell you this right now, guys, this second week is a
storm Emotionally, spiritually,psychologically.

(05:05):
That's easy for me to say, right, and you're going to feel
it break him.
You are going to see it breakhim Now.
As I always say this, you know,as I'm doing these things right,
you know, obviously we'remaking you know stories here
that are entertaining but alsohave value to you, that you're

(05:26):
going to start applying this toyour life, right, because every
time I make these series, it'snot about the characters in the
series, it's about you, right?
And this series is about allthe parts that you've buried.
You know the versions of youthat didn't make it and the
echoes that still know your name.
You know, like you know, haveyou ask yourself questions like

(05:49):
what if they chose you?
What if Unathur chose you?
For this whole thing, right, what would be the reason if you
haven't broken?
The reason why I should saylike you're not broken because
of life, because life is notdone testing you.
You know, I think a lot of timesand I'm going to go here in a
sandbox and I'm sorry, but Ithink a lot of times, especially

(06:11):
when you meet people that justgo we get to points in our life
where breaking has to happen, but sometimes it has to happen

(06:32):
slowly, so you still have timeto recover enough to be
functional and right.
And I think a lot of times, like I'll say with me, like when
I lost my mom, that's been nowit'll be 14, 15 years this year.
That's what it was for me forsuch a long time is that I had

(06:53):
to be a functional depressivebecause I could break a little
bit, but then I had to repairmyself and then break a little
bit, and then repair myself andthen break a little bit, because
I couldn't afford a massivemeltdown of just going deep into
depression and all these things, because I had other people
that were depending on me so Icouldn't do it and I think a lot

(07:18):
of us go through that.
And you're going to see him gothrough this where it's like he
breaks and then rebuilds, breaks, rebuilds in these little
breaks.
But obviously you know, withoutgiving stuff away, that you'll
see um in that story.
But as I say that you know alot of this.

(07:39):
You know especially this series.
You know a lot, a lot of this Iwrite from the heart.
You know I was telling somebodyabout this a couple days ago.
You know, as I'm writing these, the series and these characters
I guess you could say as I'mwriting, I'm like I'm closing my

(08:02):
eyes and I visually see them.
Now, unfortunately, with ourmain characters, I don't really
give a lot of descriptionbecause I want you to be able to
essentially project yourselfinto them, right?
So I don't really give a lot of.
I don't give names you know wedon't do those things but I give

(08:24):
you feelings and situationsthat you've probably been in
before and kind of give you away how this person is feeling
at that point in time, becauseyou can identify with that and
then how they're overcoming that.
So, if you haven't had abilityto do that yet, a lot of times
when we're in these situations, when we identify with somebody
and we see them do it, it givesus the ability to say you know,

(08:48):
if they can do it, I can do it.
You know, and I think a lot oftimes you know, especially with
the way the world is right now,we don't see enough of that.
We just see people that arebreaking, but we don't see
people that have pickedthemselves up from the break and
have rebuilt themselves fromthe break and are successful in

(09:08):
spite of and, realistically, ifyou look at life, a lot of life
is not because of it's in spiteof.
You know, it's all about howyou think and how you react to
things, and that's exactly whathe's going through and, yeah,

(09:31):
it's one of those things thatyou'll see here in the next
coming episodes how he starts tobreak and how he starts to come
back from that, and it'ssomething that, again, I'm
really excited about and I'malso really excited about you
guys listening.
Also, I want to answersomeone's question here.

(09:52):
I got this question right, so Idon't do anything like I do
this podcast right.
I've never done any other radiowork before.
I've never done any other kindof voiceovers or anything like
that.
Actually, I got an email todaysomeone saying that if they
would give me a script I'd readthem to sleep.
I was just like, okay, that'skind of interesting, but I guess

(10:15):
it means we're getting popularguys if we're getting strange
requests.
So here we are.
But I'm recording this on aSunday, you know, after the 4th
of July.
So I hope everyone had a verysafe weekend.
If you celebrate 4th of July,if you're in the States, and I
just I just want to just tellyou guys and I know I say this

(10:36):
all the time, but I sincerelyappreciate every single one of
you taking the time out tolisten, to message me, to give
me feedback, to ask questions.
It just, it means the world tome and I just don't think it's
lost to me because it's not.

(10:56):
I appreciate every single oneof you guys for listening.
So hope you guys have a happySunday.
If you're listening to this onSunday, because that's when this
was recorded just know thatnext week is going to be a wild,
wild, wild week.
And oh, another thing too thesenext, probably these next
episodes because there's so muchto do.
There's going to be an actual.

(11:19):
There's 10 episodes I'm puttingthat quotation marks, but
realistically it's going to be11 because there's a lot that we
got to do.
So watch out for that.
And again, guys, I just want tothank you so much for listening
