(00:00):
What's up everyone? This is Sara G, it's GenZ Gab. Let's get into it.

(00:04):
Oh my gosh, there's so many of like only two episodes left. I thought I had recorded this already,
but yay me with all my technology problems. Of course it's not what it seems and so on and so
forth and there's just a lot that I need to cover this week and we're gonna try to cover it all in

(00:27):
20 minutes. Hopefully we'll do that. Last week's episode I understand and not pop up on YouTube.
We are gonna do a double whammy hopefully where it's you know a back-to-back because my technology
has been hit or miss. I have to buy a new ring light. I kind of looted to that last week but I
guess I didn't really get anywhere. I fixed it then I didn't fix it and it's about three years old

(00:49):
so I think we're good in the sense of I need a new one. Yeah and I'm just gonna say with all my
frustrations I know that I come off. I am again I want to emphasize how grateful I am for the
platform that I've created. I just get burnt out and I know that I talk about it every week but I
think that if I don't consistently talk about it every week I think people also will relate because

(01:14):
we're always in this hustle culture trying to find a job culture trying to find the next level and I
think also with the presidential campaign election stuff coming up I think that you know we have a
lot of things coming in and out of our heads where it's like where are we going with this?
What is our next step? Are we making the right choices? I think we live in such a society where

(01:36):
everyone you know comes on to you and says oh you're not being grateful oh you're not and it's
just like this is what Gen Z is about where I'm gonna touch on this constantly still no matter
what because it's like we're consuming so much energy throughout the world at rapid speed and

(01:58):
I know I say this every week but it's just like you know between things that you miss on social
media that you can find on reddit etc I find myself needing a break up everything and I know I say
this every week that I'm trying to quit all this stuff but yeah I can't quit TikTok I've tried
to and you know what the fact that they're new like beta creativity program that only benefits

(02:24):
the really high levels like even if you make it but they're also trying to suppress you from your
like worked well on things again I have four strikes I'm on my way to if I have it in the
last 30 days so that's great I'm working through a lot but I might get kicked out soon and you
know what as much as I want to make money nothing is as easy as they make it out to be and you just

(02:49):
have to learn that you're usually gonna get swindled and that's what happens in a lot of cases you
think you're gonna get this all set up you think you finally have something figured out and it's
just not what it is and then the grifters the ad makers you name it CCR if you know what I'm saying
and have this huge ass platform that they work on but people are still waiting for some cooking

(03:13):
book from her and that doesn't happen and I know that I'm getting with a lot of the things that I
say I am so close to getting like a cease and assist which I understand but the problem is no
matter what you say or do some people are gonna you know try to diminish that again Alexa Nichols

(03:35):
is doing phenomenal work with her eat predators daily she's exposing things and you know other
group so I had no idea or even a thing and again I know that I used to be a fan of a lot of
problematic people again before you judge on a lot of that stuff you have to think now are you

(04:00):
reframing your brain are you learning more stuff and then you can make your critical thinking idea
yes I'm just saying this again because I've had to change a lot of viewpoints and again this is
where even with the whole new presidential elections coming up it's like when people say

(04:21):
which of the two evils do you want or just less or you know republicans are not great right now
and the democrats aren't either and then it's like when people say the whole green party thing I
have to still learn and unfortunately it is how our society is it's how it's set up the only thing

(04:42):
that can make this remotely entertaining during a stressful period is the fact that John Stewart
is returning on Mondays to the Daily Show and he's just phenomenal and I think that people
just take too much other things in that whenever they're trying to learn it's like who is right no
what you have to go is learn error facts you learn everything that you can and I know that

(05:07):
this sounds very very very very obsolete at times and very out there kind of not well thought of
well connected ideas and I get that when you're trying to figure out everything

(05:28):
and I know my magepodge of ADHD language does not help a lot but I just I guess to sum it all up
as people go she's on another tangent is that you know it's a very nuanced thing and when
it nuances come in people get scared so then they try to find the easiest way out and that's

(05:53):
yeah and the way that our whole system is set up it is not great so I just want to
acknowledge that a little bit because that's been weighing on my head on my mind a lot this week
between other things going on and I just think that we we don't have a lot of the

(06:18):
best ideas and whenever people try to bring this up it's always a very controversial very
nuanced very touchy subject and I think that with a lot of people in Gen Z or maybe looking which
again according to things like Pew Research or just even New York Times CNN online stuff

(06:42):
ironically Buzzfeed there's a lot talking about how Gen Z's into the third party and that used to be
nerve-wracking but I think that we just need to be doing more research to understand what we're
fully going forward to voting for because I think that growing up you get this idea and some of the

(07:04):
ideas that like your parents kind of inadvertently plant in you or don't plant and just as you keep
growing but nobody really talks about the parties nobody really boils them down for you to make it
in an understanding thing like a lot of things don't get taught in school like how to basic life
things like how to balance a checkbook how to you know budget you name it I think in my head some of

(07:28):
these things would be very beneficial to just learn about because when you're starting to think
about where do you align with because you're not and it's not that black and white and then people
make fun of the other parties that are available it's kind of like well I don't want to be X Y and Z

(07:49):
and that becomes very frustrating and confusing all at once and that's mentioned as I am finishing
the boys which I'm super excited for season four to come out soon people are going after the woman
that plays starlight and I just feel so bad for her a I don't know what her situation is it really

(08:13):
is none of our business but Megan Kelly being just the bitch that she is that has the audacity to post
a picture from when she's like 19 and then saying that was a week ago and people are just you know
laying into her here's the thing I'd say a lot of the boys

(08:35):
actors the character the cast you name it they're pretty regular people I shouldn't say regular
people because people could be like oh my gosh but it's got an empo baby but what I'm saying is that
they just they don't seem like your typical like out of touch actor influencer type understand why
some people might have points but if it's seeming like she looks pretty much her normal self I don't

(09:02):
know this person and I don't really have a lot to say but I really do like how starlights you know
come into her own and is now a um a member of the boys so it is just very obviously different

(09:24):
nuance whatever you want to call it and it's definitely a very much a subject where people
can say but you comment here's the thing I try to not comment too much on people's appearances you name
it whatsoever my problem is that I will and I acknowledge this kind of makes me a hypocrite but

(09:47):
when it's the people like Kylie Jenner the washed up d-list actors from your childhood who are now
kind of millennial cringe influencers you name it who lie and say that they've done all this stuff
or healed from all this stuff and I understand nobody's as perfect as they seem and maybe we
should give grace but there's just a lot of layers to a lot of things and I just have never gotten

(10:11):
this vibe from any of those past members even on gen v and I can get into that later and re-watching
by the way I'm re-watching season one of gen v after now watching all of the boys I started out of
order which I know people are gonna freak out at you for but that is just how life goes sometimes
and I do think like during the times that we live in right now I think it's very interesting to

(10:41):
watch these shows like I said last week but it's um very important to keep in mind why you know you
see these correlations ironically and even these like connections from comic books that might have
come out way like earlier in like the 80s and then you see different things and history has a

(11:06):
chance at repeating itself and I know yesterday was Holocaust remember and stay and when people
say like um make sure it never happens again that means all people remember just include that because
I'm thinking there's a Holocaust happening right now in Congo and we still don't really talk about
it we're not talking about a lot of things because they're uncomfortable I get it because they're

(11:28):
nuanced because they're this and that but again it's okay to learn from others it's okay to not
know everything and again I word bomb it all the time as you can see through all of this
as you can see through almost these 70 episodes of Gen Z Gab do I know what I'm doing half the time

(11:50):
no and why do I emphasize so much on my ADHD it's because I just want people to know
that if they feel this way too that they're not alone and just that you know I think it's coming
into my own understanding it better and you know ironically even after last week reading finding all

(12:10):
the files on me and seeing how many tests and before people go I'm not surprised okay well
here's the thing majority of us are neurodivergent the neurotypical and we've just got to stop
masking masking has become so annoying by the way I think that just the understanding and acknowledgement

(12:34):
also helps but as we're healing as people are wondering why Gen Z sometimes looks older again
I'm mentioning this even though I talked about it all last week there's different layers to it of
why some of us might look older than the other but our bodies might be breaking down I don't know
but it all comes back to the kind of same thing like trauma and family and generational things are

(12:58):
supposed to hurt but we don't feel them till about the third generation like us when it gets down to
Gen Z and you know I've just been watching a lot of shows and movies lately they kind of speak to
that and it's like you know the reason that a lot of these people who watch movies like that and say
the heel from watching like I watched wish you were here that had Tony Colette and Drew Barrymore

(13:24):
in it and it was just very interesting it's kind just the way that it's written or you know that
cake movie that has Odessa Azan and Yara Shadi um I'm so sorry if my dyslexia got in the way I am

(13:49):
not making excuses for myself I am just stating for a fact multiple times that I am so deeply sorry
if I botched this in any way because the last thing I want to do is is a mess up and I know it's
probably Yara Shadi and yes I just wanted to emphasize that even if it's not even close I am

(14:15):
sorry because I know that a lot of people especially in the neurodivergent community try to mix up
some of that stuff where it's like um try to use I try to hold myself accountable in a lot of ways
which I know you know people are like she's just trying to fuck no but I know I'm making mistakes

(14:36):
I know and that's why I keep talking and going fast and getting a little anxious and I just hope
that you know someday in the future if this gets seen like 20 years later it helps anyone out
who might feel this way and I know that I'm kind of babbling on at this point because I'm trying to
avoid what I'm about to say because it's realty and I'm gonna use real names even though I know I use

(15:02):
abbreviations and whatever and it's not to hide from anything it's just because it is but I think
I kind of mentioned this but Alyssa McKay we need to talk how you treat your animals because that
because that is disturbing disgusting abysmal and I don't get why influencers still have a platform

(15:23):
half the time I know people are gonna say to me cancel culture whatever yes but in this case this
is full-blown animal abuse there is a video people have seen enough of and yet we're not talking
about it enough and you know this is where I'm gonna just tell you that it gets sketchy when

(15:43):
influencers delete a lot of hate comments and everything is bright bubbly I'm not saying that
we should keep all the hate comments like I agree and in a like again nuanced tone I agree that we
most definitely should protect our mental health and our mental peace but there's a level to that

(16:04):
of but also full-blown deleting every negative comment and blocking people you know that that's
a little bit problematic and probably not the best idea and we start to see some of that you know
through the facade through the you know bullshit that is around and I know that for me speaking

(16:28):
about some of these harder harder topics it doesn't matter for starters 90% of people don't know
where I am and that's okay too and I'm only saying that where people are going like oh she could lose
a job she could do that yeah but unfortunately fortunately my whole life I've been kind of

(16:48):
unpopular and because I have opinions and I state them and yeah so that's kind of where we're at
but yes Alyssa McKay if anyone lives in the New Jersey area can you please check on her cats
and her dog because apparently she's launching her dog at her cat she's throwing pillows and

(17:08):
yelling at them for using their litter box wrong which they're using their litter box wrong because
her disgusting behavior at least I've seen in that video there's just so much more and I bet
that what we see is only the very beginning of it not to mention just how much we like bow down to

(17:29):
all these people and I realize that's probably why I don't have a lot of followers coming and going
coming and going because I don't post what everybody else wants and or if I do but I also
social media market there's just a lot of different layers and again Barrett Powell who's amazing with

(17:49):
his love army but he's been blocked on tiktok and that that's very upsetting to me and a lot of other
people but he just posted an amazing video recently that's about you know open your eyes and how we're
addicted to so much stuff on our screens you name it and I totally agree with it and it is my

(18:13):
like when you start seeing so many things why so many doctors some amazing doctors with some
terrible doc it's like again it's just like you suddenly see it at this vast majority and you're
going around in circles but again unless you don't talk about things like this then people don't even
know what to wear or not because again I follow some creators that I really like but I now know

(18:36):
some of the problems so that the next time there's a problem I can be like okay either this is completely
done like this is unacceptable or you know you move on I don't know but there's just like a lot
of things and things aren't as black and white as they seem except for again when it comes to you
know snarking on specific people which I know people are going to say but then again she's being a

(19:01):
hypocrite and I'm emphasizing that yet again because I understand but there's just like a lot of that
shallowness that goes along with it and whenever my parents try to call me a micro influencer etc
I like started to get a little angry with it because I'm not really the creator of that

(19:22):
a lot I don't have a lot of opportunities come my way and that's fine I'm not trying but I actually
truly believe that and I know they're gonna say oh my gosh she's such a pick me all this but no
what I'm trying to say is that I try to give like a little different type of content and

(19:43):
and not like everybody else's and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't that's just life
and you just have to realize that too and you know some people are uh buying their followers
and burger and that happens as well and some people need to remind yourself kind of like

(20:05):
with plastic surgery you're not ugly you're poor you're not untalented or not creative you're just
broke because again you have to spend money to make money and that's just not always going to be
feasible for a lot of people around here and then of course once you get an opportunity to maybe be

(20:31):
on like a fun like the creator fun you name it you don't make as much money the minute that you
join it that's the that's the never ending cycle that's the touch and go and it's obviously not
fun and as you boil down and look at all these things and kind of compare and contrast through

(20:52):
it all you don't know fully in the end what's the best choice to make and how will you get it I am
looking at like new boot camps for my social media and stuff and I can't even tell you what's the right
choice because again it's spending a shit ton of money but you might not always have the best

(21:12):
resources for and you don't know if it's going to guarantee you a job in the end because society
keeps saying to us oh you have to do x y and z oh but you have to get your your master's degree no
no no again just that cycle that's making you go nuts no matter how hard you try and you're thinking

(21:34):
you're you've finally figured out everything and that's just not true so yeah and I do want to say
again as I'm talking about a lot of things I love you know listening to donor conceived stories I love
the talk about the infertility industry the adoption industry I've learned so much through

(21:55):
social media so that if anyone ever comes after me and says that I complain too much I should go off
that's not the thing I obviously understand that we all need a break and no matter how much we try to
say it we are addicts we keep going but I will say that we need to talk about the sanfilippo
community and FDA what are you going to do because no matter how much um these amazing mommas talk

(22:21):
about their kids and whatever the fact that there's not a lot of funding that goes towards them and I
understand but any rare disease like I love that this community talks about other rare diseases
that are like their kids that still don't get funding like that's the thing like it's just the
layers and layers and levels and it's again comparable to Alzheimer's dementia Parkinson's

(22:45):
in little tiny kids and again people keep saying it's rare but again it goes back into
ADHD is not that uncommon these days because now we can test for it we understand it better now
again I was put on Adderall it was actually doing some good things for me but I was also a very kind
of I was like in the 97th percentile for height and like in the 15th to 20th for weight at the time

(23:11):
so you can imagine why I was saying that like my tummy hurt so I'm going to talk about this quick
before we end it here on Gen Z Gap but you know just some of the things like weirdly out of sorts
that people say oh my gosh I want to be a celebrity I actually never do because there's an influencer
who just recently she's more of an activist someone found her number and you know just was

(23:36):
really creepy and I'm so glad we have people like youth pastor Ryan Ryan Kelly being able to share
with us how to get some of our info removed off the internet because I think it's a little strange
the things that people do and people normalize it into being kind of funny or whatever but this
just goes to show again that there's not a lot of boundaries between your family your life and etc

(24:02):
this is just stuff that I keep learning and I'm trying to learn and understand boundaries more
that just something that our society is not very good at clearly and yeah I also want to talk about
like just with influencers just like how you know it's like we're welcomed into this world but then
and then we kind of believe them and then we snark on them etc and I talk about this a lot

(24:27):
but here's the thing like the whole thing with Matt Reif like that was
memorial learned the more people call them good but the problem is that like look people like
Brooke and Tana talking constantly about it that at this point it's just using it for cloud and I
don't see like I think it's great to talk about it but if there's anything new to add to the story

(24:51):
all the stuff that I've seen has like nothing and like we get the message we know he's not
as great as he seems we know that you know besides his special he crossed the line it's
hard when you're trying to be supportive of someone who started more at the bottom and you
were trying to you know support a more struggling comic and then when you start to see things you

(25:17):
realize no that's not it and people learn from it and etc but no I'm sick of all these people like
yeah saying this stuff I really believe like Becca Moore was different than a lot of them
you know there's so many of them that you kind of think that way and I know I'm name dropping at
this point but it's like all those New York to LA influencers that we you know people go why do we

(25:43):
follow them what I don't know it's like it's just easy to and then it's like you're welcomed into
this world and you know you're like honestly feeling apart or something until you realize
these people don't really give a shit about you so anyway my point is please do not be tempted
to go full-blown stalker full-blown whatever Kathy Bates in that movie and yeah because it's it's so

(26:10):
weird and once again thank you so much for people like you've passed Ryan who you know use their
degree for good with Homelander not Homelander wow Homelander you know the boys but you know what
I'm saying it's just it's so much we gotta you know think about ways of protecting ourselves on the
internet because there's a lot of things out there as well as you know that's why I'm so passionate

(26:33):
about like when I see family vloggers I'm no longer interested it's just so sad how much all of this
stuff can spiral out of control and you know it's just like people just don't care they claim that they
have protection in order that it's maybe just keep your kids off the internet because you know
after even seeing someone who's in their 30s have something really creepy happen it just shows like

(26:56):
you're never it's never gonna not happen if that makes sense like you're always susceptible maybe
to like you're always susceptible to it so yeah it doesn't mean like yeah you might not be the most
like at risk but there's just so many reasons why you should be careful and why we need to have a
little more of online literacy I think instead of just whatever like I have to ask app don't track

(27:22):
app ask app to not look at my location all this kind of stuff because I don't need all of that
like yes the location on by my iPhone is available for you know friends and family just to make sure
that I'm okay especially like if something happens but aside from that not really needed so anyway
keep yourself safe online this week we will be back next week with episode 70 the series finale

(27:49):
ish thing season finale and this has been gen Z gab sergi bye bye
