(00:00):
What is up everyone? This is Sarah G. It is Gen Z Gap. Let's get into it. Oh my god.

(00:09):
You know, I keep saying this every week. I talk about various things and you know what? I just
want to again formally apologize if I come off wrong because that's something that I'm constantly
trying to work on. Like I know I don't need to be right all the time or say everything right all
the time. However, I do know that I probably say things incorrectly and that it doesn't always come

(00:31):
across the best way. So as more time goes on, I want to just keep acknowledging that because
I find myself getting into fights with my own family over what we should be saying or how we
should be saying it. It's never ending learning curve. And again, I like to stand by all so though
that we should all be open and not closed when it comes to things. But honestly though, we are

(00:56):
in such a harsh judgment society that it's hard to you know, even get the right point across. And
I know this might seem like I'm defending people again that I don't necessarily want to. But that's
not the case either. It's just a reminder on some things again that I am a small creator who has

(01:17):
zero income coming from this that is just here to sit get her life thoughts out and occasionally
have gas. I know I say this every week, but I'm just repeating it maybe in an own way again for my
ADHD and OCD. Yes, can she go a single podcast without talking about it or using it to deflect?
A, I'm not using it to deflect and B, no. And you can turn it off if you don't like what I have to

(01:44):
say. As much as I would love everyone to listen to it, I understand and this is free will, you know.
So yeah, I understand a lot of things are going on right now and there's a bunch of pop culture,
etc. But I'm going to start right now, jotting down my feelings this week. And I didn't know

(02:06):
where else to really go with it. And maybe that's what it seems like Gen Z Gab is these days. But
also I am very annoyed with what's going on in Sudan, where we're not talking about it. And I've
been trying to post more on it given the situation because I don't think anyone knows how dire it is.

(02:28):
It's scary. It's even ahead of, you know, Palestine, Congo, and Yemen for some of its hunger
issues, you name it. And I've just been deconstructing a lot of my brain lately on how to go about this
difficult, obviously, conversation. And again, it shouldn't be as difficult as it is, but it is

(02:51):
given the fact that no news outlets really want to talk about it. So yeah, aside from that, all of
my posts about, you know, Congo, Sudan, and Palestine has been dealing with a lot of shadow
banning. And it's ridiculous, in my honest opinion, which I mean, no shit. But seriously,

(03:15):
one thing I can't get over is that TikTok still is blocking me for no reason when I do a reaction
video and I try to give credit, I try to make the videos work. And yet they prefer me to do
just another trend, another thing, the show, the everything is going downhill, honestly, like I
can't do it anymore. I try to be creative, I tried to do edits, I try to whatever. And I understand

(03:40):
maybe, right, but I try to keep everything under three minutes, and it just feels so annoying,
especially when certain other creators can make, you know, all their TikToks and never get plagued.
So I'm just done, I've given up on going live too, because it's like selling your soul. And if

(04:00):
you're not already known, then there you go. And I know that I talk a lot, a lot on here about all
the issues, but no, this is like me boycotting the social media why I'm not gonna be posting.
Because again, every time I do post something, it's been repressed and it's not fun anymore.
Like so many people again, you saying can we go back to that 2020? True. But then so many people

(04:25):
blew up from that, quit their job and now aren't the same people that they used to be. And that's
another frustrating thing. Like it's starting to just not feel the same that it used to. And now
there's just seems like a divide enemy lines, all these things that you just don't even say. Now
it's great to have social media as a tool so that you can better understand and learn about issues

(04:51):
that you will not be seeing in your own like viewpoint of the world where you live at. Yeah. Now
it's great to have social media as a tool. No one's denying that it's just that the different
viewpoints that we all get are what's starting to feel like overwhelming and not great, which is

(05:13):
again the old part of the mental health movement. Again, all you need to really follow people like
Barrett Powell or Red Mat, etc. who break down a lot of these pieces, especially during this month of
pride, because also a lot of people are trying to submit the repress, the information getting out

(05:37):
of other countries that we don't know and don't understand by people trying to make up other
awareness months, etc. Like it can be a lot of the same things. And two things can be true,
but now it just seems like people are trying to erase what's going on in certain countries or what's

(05:58):
going on right in front of them. And it's just very concerning. And the only reason that I mentioned
Red Mat and Barrett Powell is because those two creators are constantly speaking out of the issues
that I have been talking about between toxic masculinity, between sexism, between phobias,

(06:20):
and between just what's going on in other countries. So again, give them a follow.
Because again, I am someone on here who is just a person, one person that's trying to
condense everything into 20 to 40 minutes. And we all know that that does not work well, especially

(06:44):
because I can bring some polarity probably to it, I can bring some insight, but at the same time,
also when you're just one person and you don't also fit into every single moment or group or
whatever, which is okay, we do not all need to be the same regardless of what people are trying to
tell you. And again, it's not all rainbow gum straps, butterflies, you know, like peace,

(07:10):
harmony, we all want that and that's not going to happen for a variety of reasons. But here we are,
and it'll just keep going forward. And yeah, so I can give advice, guidance of where to go, even
though nobody really asked. And that's fair too. Again, micro creators everywhere are trying to get
their voice out. It's heard and you know, it's super annoying because like people say once again,

(07:35):
use your platform or we're using our platform and then people are saying that it doesn't matter when
you use. And that's the never ending contradictory thing that bothers me also about social media.
So I could rant on and on and on about that. But again, you start to notice it within until you
start doing that work. Like I've said multiple times the past couple of weeks. And deconstructing

(08:00):
like the whole media thing, you'll still be kind of a slave to the screen. And again, I do am
squirrel. I'm not perfect either. And you know, maybe the people that I keep putting in reference
aren't always 100% the best, but they're better than a lot of other people and a lot of other people

(08:21):
who are I don't know, just trying to get in the spotlight and trying to show how good they are.
AKA E Predators Daily, AKA Poggo. Like all the things are so frustrating for me. And I constantly
talk about it. I know, but it's still my Gen Z ass is annoyed and sick of seeing that like

(08:45):
cold day personas that they have and just how they market themselves and whatever. And it just
seems like scam, scam, scam, scam. And then I really again, no matter how many times I say this,
you know, diva lacy on diva. AKA Lacey Mosley. Sorry, my brain just shut off. Don't you just love,

(09:12):
don't you just love talking like supersonic speed? But yes, universe. I mean, between that,
some other like I have learned so many things. I've learned so, so, so, so, so many things
that I can't even begin to tell you that, you know, no culty vibes you should follow on TikTok.

(09:34):
I know and Instagram and I know that I'm listing off other people, but it's just other people that
actually know what they're talking about. Instead of just me saying like I get bad vibes,
I don't know what it is is off versus where these people can give a deep, deep, deep, deep
insight to what is all happening. And I think that we can all learn from that and grow from that

(10:00):
and use our knowledge within technology to get better. And actually just in Bateman,
I agree with some of the things she said, if you followed my Sarah G strikes podcast,
I talked a little bit about her here and there during the big strikes last year.
But anyway, it's moving on. There's so many things where you see

(10:21):
happening. And another thing that I hate is how social media makes you change your
password after a year. And thing doesn't work, whatever. And you try to hit enable cookies
or not enable cookies. And I know this is very sidetracked. And when is she going to get to
real pop culture? Oh, I'm gonna get I'm working on it. I just have to get some of these things off
my chest. As you can see, like life is not great. I'm trying to, you know, get my own stuff off the

(10:49):
ground and marketing. And yes, that's what makes me think of all these things. When I see a lot of
these podcasters who were former and listen that and they can get everyone even know now people
have decided they are completely unlikable, but they feed off the hate because it's like,
hey, look, ma, I made it. Even though I say that like every two seconds. And the person who

(11:14):
sang that song, it's not great either. So I digress. Oh, here's just quick, which isn't gonna be quick,
because you know, me, my lost in translation kind of thought process where I go, like, what's going
on here? Anyway, does anyone understand how much it sucks? Oh, wait, yes, I think a majority do.

(11:41):
And obviously, again, as I go back earlier in my platform, I might not have that big of a platform,
but I'm going to be using it, even if it just I'm just one person. Anyway, moving on from that,
I personally have realized regardless, I have to vote for Biden. And it's not just because

(12:09):
it's a vote blue or the best blah, blah, blah. No, because when you start to read project 2025,
you instantly gag, especially as a woman, especially in this world, if you're just anything,
like, just read it, it's disturbing, disgusting, and it's literally taking away every person's

(12:32):
rights. It's trying to make it like as conservative as possible. And that's the problem. The problem is,
there's not even a like, decent green party person, it seems like at this point, or that people are
like, well, you can do the swing vote at the same time. No, we have to completely find a better option
for 2028. But we as a society have to listen to why project 2025 is no good, why we have to vote

(13:02):
for Biden, it's not because of the lesser of the evils per se anymore, it's just because 2025, project
2025 is that insane, it's that scary, and I will probably never understand everything, obviously,
as people would say, here's another white liberal human talking. No, but here's the thing.

(13:26):
When you look at everything, when you really sit down, hunker down, look at everything,
unfortunately, Biden is my only choice. But I will still vote. And that's why I encourage
you to do the same. And hopefully, something better will come. And I know that we've been

(13:50):
saying that forever. And I know that it's a lot writing on with this situation. But yes, I just,
I am sick to my stomach, looking at all these things, talking about all these things, I

(14:10):
cannot handle it much more. But I also know I was in college when Trump got elected the first time,
and that was the absolute worst. I do not intend to have another four years of that. So also,
might I mention again, that you cannot go to an airline if you have any criminal charges,

(14:32):
usually like when you can't vote, and you can't do a lot of other things at this magnitude that
you have been arrested on 34 accounts, and yet you can still run for president that does not
seem right. And again, this is where it needs change. But think about that. Think about at your

(14:54):
core, what you're really doing, if you decide to vote for him. Because think about this,
like all these other things you cannot vote for, if you have a criminal charge. And again, it makes
me think of the Stephen Colbert, Colbert, sorry, Stephen Colbert podcast, where he's talking about
a lot of that stuff I've been on the show, but him, John Stuart, The Daily Show, all of them,

(15:17):
talk at lengths, and they're kind of in the same position. I think we're all in the same position,
but we've got to think about this. It's not like, oh yeah, goodbye, didn't go, no, it's just we cannot
have a criminal. Okay. And he's been proven not to mention just how we keep moving backwards,
it feels like in society. This is not going to like, please, please just consider when you don't

(15:44):
have a swing vote, etc. in your state, that's like what you're actually looking at. Because again,
I didn't, I have not forgiven him for how he's handled the whole Gaza situation. The whole
thing about not even talking about Sudan, the whole way that everything is going on. But unfortunately,
that is our best option. If you're like me, I will go and vote. And it's not like a super positive

(16:11):
moment, but at least try to vote for him as awful as it is, try to vote for Biden, because at least
he doesn't have Project 2025. I know a bunch of people will still have issues, because again,
like I said, this white liberal straight human being is talking, this girl, whatever,

(16:33):
but again, I'm trying. And it just sucks. And I feel you, I hear you, if you're someone who's
like me, who really doesn't want to vote, but it has to be done because you got to stop the other
guy. So yeah, there's just a lot going on. And again, now the whole teen mom situation and mental

(16:57):
health. And again, once again, you can say what you want about the OGs, but the only ones that seem
to be actually really thriving, etc. are Macy and Gaitlyn and Taylor Tyler, sorry, my brain shut off
Tyler, because their situations with their kids, they're very open and honest talking. And I don't

(17:24):
want to say much more, we all know Amber is a train wreck way worse than even, like, if not even,
like the worst mom on there right now, because we all know the worst of the worst moms is off of
there. And she's just, but it speaks in the values. But the funny part is, like as one person, a
creator that I follow, Jordan Cray that I love so much, who gives you the full rundown, the full

(17:48):
eats has said like how even he can't defend all this stuff and how drew Dr. Drew needs to stop.
Oh yeah, because again, even as like kids are scamming people like you should look at that,
I'm just saying. And you know, how he picks favorites, etc. And he's being, you know, kind of
like any other person, he kind of reminds me of like Ted Danson from the good place character,

(18:13):
where he's trying to just metal and everyone's lives and picking and choosing and blah, blah, blah.
It's like a real life total drama island, which I mean, everyone can say that's what happens with
reality TV and whatnot. But that's yeah, it's just awful. And I could give more opinions,
but I've tried to stay out of watching that stuff. I haven't really watched that stuff since like,

(18:37):
when it first came out, I mean, I'm like, they're still doing this. But regardless, you can't tell
me that Caitlin and Tyler aren't doing the work to heal generational trauma from the clips that
I've seen. So yeah, versus, you know, Amber just being like your typical narc and blaming all their

(18:59):
problems on others, which as someone who has a family member similar to Amber, except for not
the level of issues of Amber, but just still an arc, those comments are so traumatizing. And
it's insane. I know she also claims that it's just borderline personality disorder and bipolar, but

(19:19):
I think it's a mixture of more narcissism than borderline personality disorder. I am not an expert,
but a lot of her traits are telling more that she is a grand old snark. That's me. And yes, I know
everyone's going to say, oh, look at this person in her arm chair expertness. Yeah, my arm chair
expertness. See, I can't really say much more than that, because I'm not an expert, but I know

(19:43):
based off of my own research and my own, you know, journey through mental health and, you know,
verbal abuse within certain, certain aspects of my life, I don't want to get into it too much. And
yes, I know I'm over sharing and I'm choosing, it's carefully, but you know, just in case somebody

(20:04):
hears this, it's more of a protection for me. And yeah, and toxic families suck. Let's just start
there. So my heart is truly with Leah. I can understand on some level, I will never understand
your whole situation or whatever, but I can understand what it's like to be a kid around someone

(20:28):
who, you know, makes everything about themselves and then tries to blame everything else on others.
But in happier news, my dog is really funny. The past couple of days, she has not wanted to really
go on walks because it's raining and she, if you haven't seen the whole penguin, there's this new
penguin study going out where they switched to cheaper food. My dog is a little picky. She's

(20:54):
a little bit of a princess, Steve, whatever you want to call it. And it's kind of gone back to
when she was first getting sick about a year ago. She got Addison's disease and she's been sick,
where she didn't really like the taste of food because it makes your taste buds weird. And she's
also of the herding sheepdog breed. So you got that. But anyway, yeah, so she, she liked these

(21:18):
penguins when the food gets stale. She doesn't want to eat it. So we've started mixing in toppers,
etc. But she's super funny because she has like, her brain is always on. So she keeps so confused
and doesn't always look like when she's done eating, like she'll eat a few bites, she'll eat the
toppers and she's so smart. Like I kid you not, she can, I can bury them in like for an enrichment

(21:43):
activity and she goes and sniffs it out. Like I have to start doing a lot of those like sniff
spots, etc. for her because I just think she would be great at a lot of those dogs forwards.
But yeah, so in other news, yeah, she just keeps laughing and you know, no matter how many ways

(22:04):
that we try to, you know, trick her, because she also has to go every month for a shot at her bed
and she has to do a lot of other things. And she's like on to all the tricks and it's just so funny
to watch how her mind works. So if you're someone who's been listening to all of this and the ones
before, and it seems like I don't talk about anything that gives me joy, she is my soul dog.

(22:29):
And I've been talking about this to a lot of people and I even have been feeling a lot of guilt
lately because when I've learned that she's my soul dog, I love her personality like so much.
And I don't know how how life was before her, you know, the problem is that I've also started
to think, oh my gosh, the way I talk about her is like erasing the first family dog.

(22:54):
But then as the more time goes on and I talk about it, the thing is though that she and I
have this unique bond because I was an adult most of the time raising her versus when our first
dog was around. I was just a kid, I didn't do a lot of that one on one special bonding where
there's something different about the dog that you get in your 20s. And I know we've all talked

(23:18):
about that, but it makes me ready for whenever I move out, having trained and gone through
everything with this dog, we learn together, it has made me confident that I could do it again.
Because again, I had nothing else to do during COVID, like she was a quarantine puppy.
I was left to my own devices because we didn't have a lot of training stuff. So I watched

(23:42):
YouTube videos, I did apps, and I figured out what worked for both of us. And again,
it's kindness. I am not an expert. I do not think that I should train your dog if you are ever,
but I learned how to train and work and build a partnership. And I think that that's the

(24:03):
difference between me and my first dog. My first dog, I got to be more fun. But this type of work
relationship that me and my dog have is very interesting and a lot rewarding. I think
just the more that I figure out what her needs are and how to meet them too, wrong topic. And I

(24:26):
don't, I want to bring more joy and light to this podcast than I have in a while. So I'm trying to
reframe a lot of things. Now, again, there's not new seasons of anything coming out till about
September. It's just going to kind of be a slow and steady summer. I mean, obviously more news will

(24:48):
come out, more other things, but we can just be chill and cool for the summer here. So yeah, see you soon.
