(00:00):
What is up everyone? This is Sara G. It is Gen Z Gab. Let's get into it and man, I know that I've been a little bit
(00:08):
slacking on some of my podcast episodes but it's for a very good reason because it's always the reassessing
what is my next step. That's better. Plus right now I'm just working on a different type of project slash business idea
but at the same time I don't want to talk too much about it slash get my hopes up because this is the reality of my life.
(00:31):
Every time I get my hopes up it goes down and I know people are going to say this girl is so damn negative. True.
But at the same time I'm just being realistic. I'm not trying to get my hopes up too much whereas when other people get their
hopes up that becomes the problem and I know people are going to look at me like this is the weirdest thing you could possibly be saying
(00:54):
but no no no no no no no no no no no. Here's why. Because other people have a lot less on the line. I have got so much on the line
because I have to prove that I can make my own hours. I can do this. I can do that because I have like more of a situation where
traditional is more the mindset for business of people around me and people can tell me that I need to just let it go.
(01:18):
Not care so much what other people think but when I get excited about potential things to make and get a job and etc.
and it doesn't pan out then it's just like a failure after failure after failure and I know people say your greatest failures are the stuff
that teaches you more in life. True. However right now and I know social media is great but I see more people moving and I'm at a standstill
(01:45):
not to mention my health things are still going in a you know twister like state. Because some moments I'm doing so good that I think I can do anything
and then the next moment I am defeated like yesterday I went to the fair and for anyone who knows I did work there I'm planning maybe to work there already next year
(02:07):
yes I'm already on next year but I just with all my health stuff I wanted to just have a year off also given the fact that my brother was moving
so there's like a lot of little pieces going on over here that I think without sharing too much because at the same time I need to remember that not everybody is going to be happy with me sharing everything
(02:31):
and that's okay that's why we do boundaries that's why I talk about constantly rewiring reframing ways to get out of that you know cycle of family trauma you name it
and I know people are gonna look at me when I say that I'm doing work and yet I just kind of said more things look yeah things aren't going to always be 100%
(02:55):
but I'm trying to explain that you can do it to a certain level without it being such a big deal that being said yes so um yeah I just don't get myself super excited
and I'm trying to work on different things to make myself happier healthier you name it and you know what even though I went to the fair and ate food that didn't have soy or gluten in it
(03:20):
ironically I think the variety like someone else in my family specifically my dad talked about sometimes the more variety of foods that you eat it doesn't always work with you in that
and yes I am someone who also uses an app called Nerva this is not sponsored this is not anything I get nothing out of it but I wanted to say that Nerva actually helped me out
(03:41):
so I've been using it a few but that doesn't completely like absolve you and things are going to happen there's no need to like diet starts tomorrow like I'm so losing you know that kind of a piece of the mindset I just you know thought I was like I'm on top of the world till you're not
and so yes just remember that if you finally think that you've you know gotten rid of all the allergies it's still somewhat different foods than you're used to so you might you know have a little bit of something something sneak up on you
(04:14):
it's not good it's not bad it is neutral all food is good food especially the food I ate yesterday I'm just stating for a fact that maybe don't go big or go home if you're not quite prepared for things
so yeah I will say though that I tried paella from the new food stand next to my favorite which is Auntie Ems because again they're gluten-free so way free all that fun stuff
(04:40):
but I'd say one of my favorites was just a clogger Eda and I talked about this last year I'm not gonna like endorse drinking like obviously but you know it was so damn hot yesterday that it felt really good and I am gonna stand by that if you are of legal age if you can handle it blah blah blah
(05:04):
go and try one my parents drink a lot of water like I did as well and there was a load day that my mom had as well as you know just little bits and pieces
my family got walleye on a stick but I wasn't entirely sure if it was free I also did get a shawarma bowl which again I could eat no shame to myself but I could eat taziki
(05:31):
like and shawarma pretty much every day probably not the best for me but I could eat that and chicken shawarma every day I wanted on the record just because people say that you know that it's really hard to navigate with allergies but that's usually one of the safest ones
now I'm not gonna say if you are someone with like a nut allergy etc don't like listen to me go and find the fair finder and find out what actually works for you
(06:00):
I am sorry I did not meet people at the booth that I used to work at it was just so damn hot that I didn't really feel like going near an oven to say hello and all that stuff plus it was busy so yeah and I can't fully eat the food so yeah
yeah there's that I have been trying to avoid some big topic politics stuff but you know what this has been hard for my head to wrap around lately and also between all my health issues etc
(06:31):
and I've talked about this where even like my hair fell out from all my stressfulness that was going out and then you know ADHD and OCD is so phenomenal you know being a road divergent is so phenomenal where my OCD wants you know the clean look like think again of how we mendel
but then my ADHD is just like piranha whatever and then it just makes you not think kind of like stitch and do the nuclear option so that was me when I started to kind of fix the edging etc
(07:11):
and then I was like yeah let's just go with don't just don't do that just trust the process I know it's easier said than done but just do it because right now it is very hard for me to take a picture without really noticing it and then you know the whole thyroid thing just came up and just stuff that you think you've healed from
(07:37):
and then you know a medical gaslighting etc and then you wind up in the same position you were four years ago even if your family claims you've gotten better and yet you still don't feel better and your insomnia is so freaking bad and I know I'm like again popcorn spitballing all this stuff
but again this shows you how I'm ADHD and I want to talk about again like Tim Wall's son who is the definition of a lot of the things I am and how healing that was for me to watch
(08:12):
aside from I know people have issues with Kamala I know people really hate her seeing some Palestine etc but my problem is that I constantly am thinking about Congo Sudan Tigray all these other countries that so many people are focused on just the Palestine piece which I mean is great and should and I'm looking at it as a whole thing because people keep saying there's only a
(08:41):
two-party system and that you need to vote the third party the problem is the third party there is stuff coming out of the woodwork like I said you know Jill Stein and thought maybe decent but she know she did stuff for Syria she is only changing her platform she has spoken over black and brown voices constantly she's getting out and then you know you got your other third party
(09:07):
candidates that are doing the same like where they're trying to say that they're better than this and that and then you got the whack job RFK Jr and you know that piece and then his whole I'm supporting Trump because of this way and so much more and again I just love
(09:28):
and I love that Jack Schlaugenberg or what I don't know if I pronounced it right or wrong I'm sorry but cousin or his grand-nephew I'm not really sure I should probably do better on that but I just meant like calling him out in some moments and it's just really funny now
and say what you want about Jack but he is really funny with his latest and he's pulling an EV as some people say if you walk so he could run I don't really know if that's true there's a lot of things that you know you could go down the rabbit hole of that aren't pertaining to this exact like
(10:08):
thing that I'm talking about because now I'm just hitting different things but I want to also say that you know relatives etc who are opposing views of some of their crazy ass family I see you and I understand you and I am so so sorry like truly and I don't know how to feel about
(10:33):
Rob Jr's wife because she is a well-known actress etc but that's just neither here nor there. We all know Melania wants the whole like come on Melania to win we want to know she's voting for her quote on quote all those fun jokes memes that you see throughout
but again Donald Trump nephew talks about how his family barely helps out with his son who has you know disabilities health issues etc and that just goes to show where we are at and how we need to see people for who they are.
(11:08):
Now again I know that I'm showing my true colors by saying that it sucks all the candidates that are options and there are good and there are bad there are this there are that good evil whatever but I'm just specifying quickly as I finish up this thing and people can say I am being a hypocrite whatever
(11:29):
My problem is there's too much going on in the world yes there's not enough you know intersectionality you name it going on but the same people that rally behind Palestine rally behind Ukraine are not talking about Sudan Congo and DeGray etc
and that's what's really bothering me that they're not spending enough time talking about that and that they're specifying like why we have to not vote for Kamala and again I am not trying to say you guys make your own decisions it's just so frustrating
(12:04):
constantly feeling like what you're doing is not enough when you're trying to decolonize etc and having all these different opinions coming at you when you really need to take a step back and see other things because frankly it just seems like we're carrying about instead of the whole picture
we're carrying about like just part of a picture and there's aid that is needed there is aid that needs to happen and I know that this is like you know that whole
(12:35):
classism racism situation but that's what really bothers me when you have these big time people in the public eye people people people in the public eye the influencers the entertainers you name it there are so many that are talking about there that there's so many that aren't who knows and again I'm not trying to create this like narrative oh it's
(13:00):
no no no no no what I'm trying to say is that you know we can be critical of all these people in the public eye but I want to say again though some people that are doing phenomenal jobs again is artists like Macklemore Macklemore is calling out the
A.E. and Dubai you know etc all of those for how their treatment of Sudan etc and we need more advocates out there again Kalani the artist had a song come out as well who's been speaking out and very vocal about the situation
(13:40):
you name it again nobody's perfect not everyone can do everything and I understand that there are people using their platforms and just didn't need using their platforms and that's me trying the same thing unfortunately also people have to realize not everyone can donate right now
I can't even probably donate to some you know go fund me's and situations that are closer to my heart in my community and I know people are going to look at me when I say this but it's like I can't and then they're like well maybe if you didn't spend time doing this and
(14:13):
are you kidding me like there's barely anything I can do right now and I'm trying to you know not be so stressed out after every little thing and I think that again social media heightens a lot of that and the fact of the matter is I just want to keep talking about it to the best of my ability
I know that I am not a hundred percent here being perfect whatever about how I you know articulated but I'm trying to take some of the knowledge that I've learned and hold space be able to talk about it again even if it sounds redundant every single time because at least sometimes even just talking about things can try to make something better
(14:58):
I don't know how much more to say that is kind of my two cents on this whole you know political stuff if you were you know listening to this thank you so much because I know it's a lot and maybe I'm not 100% agree the perfect person to fully talk about things as well and I understand that and yeah
(15:21):
so there's that I just wanted to say some of my piece because again it's been weighing heavy on me the past couple weeks when I've been trying to you know record different things but also try not to be burnt out so you know things happen I've also been trying to get other things off the ground like I said
so I've been a little more busy that I say I'm going to do more and I can't but as my mom used to say I am not an octopus and I think that is truly a statement that a lot of people are feeling like right now with everything going on in the world you can't do everything
(15:58):
I know that's sad I know it's stressful but you need to go out and vote and you need to see things and also know that no candidate is perfect and that's all I'm going to say and before anyone says that I'm trying to sway what no I'm just saying for all the people who are saying
(16:21):
you know that when we act like common is our only option and then they say that there's this and that and then the Green Party though has their own issues and again I think that Green Party will have some opportunities in the future I just can't see it now
and I know people are going to say oh my gosh I'm a hypocrite I'm this I contradict myself probably unfortunately in human nature and learning things and decolonizing etc it takes a lot
(16:54):
so again thank you for listening to that little spiel onto brighter things so again I watch Netflix unstable please go and stream it because it is really hard to get more episodes when something might not be quite in the top 10s I know that people are going to say what they want to say about things
but between just having eight episodes etc I don't think it's always getting the best chance and I know other things are happening right now other shows I mean I watched Emily in Paris part one of season four again I hate these parts by the way
(17:33):
but I don't need to constantly rewatch it to try to get it to have the numbers go up I know that's awful I'm still a fan again I could watch Sylvie Julian and Luke all the time
again please consider giving Emma spin off an elfie with Mindy all those supporting characters but honestly I am to the point where I think I've said this a lot but give Sam, you will Arnold and others more of a spin off because I could watch Julian and Luke all the time honestly
(18:10):
and again Sylvie's storyline this season is just such a powerhouse and you know it sees a whole different light with her situation and I'm just so proud of the way that you know they do it again Luke as Bruno I can't pronounce his last name I know I'm a terrible person
(18:33):
especially with the fact that I'm having a Luxembourg citizenship and I'm trying again I'm a part of that where I'm basically a no-stop-o kid because my great grandma decided to stop speaking French and that is where I'm at right now I'm trying to learn but yes
but there's that and yeah so all these actors did great and I think you know there's things that make me mad but I could seriously just yeah watch a spin off of those three especially because I liked when Luke finally got a reason to like come up with something on the spot and came up with his own like treasure hunt I don't want to give too many spoilers obviously
(19:19):
so if you haven't watched it yet go and watch it but the reason why I'm like you know advocating for shows that are smaller like unstable with Rob Lowe John Lowe and Emma Ferrera, Rachel Marsh, Iris Appetow, you know,
Sian Clifford all of those it's because I love the show it's very offbeat obviously like a lot of the other like Parks and Rec the office so I think that it does deserve a little more a few more episodes than what it's been given and I do think it deserves more of a chance between that and the writer strike
(19:57):
so go and check it out I think it's hilarious if you want to try to get it back on the number 10 that would be great I know we shouldn't focus on the numbers but again that would be phenomenal.
I also just wanted to talk a little bit about that 90s show and the second part of season two came out and by the way it's very confusing I think for the majority of people the way that Netflix sets this up and I think that you know season four of Emily and
(20:29):
Paris is the first one doing this more so and again, I just hate the parts where it's just so confusing because it's like, did this happen in season two did this happen in season three, because some people are starting to even call part three season three which
hasn't even gotten a season three yet which I really want that 90s show to get a season three I've been a fan since day one I especially like the addition of sunny and his friend, etc. I think that they've, you know, have a great
(20:59):
repertoire with Ozzy bouncing off Rindoy and I think that you know Kevin Smith and that whole crew do just a great job. Again, Jason Maui is again I've I'm really sorry if I butcher your name I try super hard but again, I'm going to go back to where because I watched a lot of
(21:24):
George Lopez recently I'm going to go back to not that I'm defending myself but again, I'm just like sick I can't do a lot of things where I try to pronounce things I try to be perfect or whatever.
I'm not there necessarily and I know that sounds weird to say but again it's hard. It is hard to pronounce things sometimes it is hard to spell things sometimes it's hard to see a lot of different things. Again, I am mad at tick tock because tick tock is also, you know, deciding to give me a disqualification no
(21:57):
matter how much I try to make my thing. I make my thing original you know I give credit to things etc. And yet they still want to disqualify me from the creator program they just don't want me to have money or anything and now they're like shadow banning me so it's so great.
It's so so great but one thing I was showing was a clip from Max with his dyslexia dyscalculia and by the way when Jason helped him out like I remember that fraction I remember that fraction rhyme pretty well and I just want to say I want to help out other kids who are feeling that way.
(22:33):
And I was trying to do a reaction video but I guess tick tock doesn't like me like it doesn't like a lot of people so there there's my rant on that so I'm going to go back to that 90 show where I just really hope I can't wait to see potentially what happens in season three.
The opportunity you know the cliffhanger how it ended but it just it really felt like the vibes were all there. I'd say you know the second half of season two was way stronger and I'm glad that they pushed up, you know, the timing of it all because again I am.
(23:08):
I understand why they sometimes do break since off but honestly I am glad that they released them closer together. I just would say from a marketing standpoint stop doing the parts I know that I am just a nobody surrounded by executives that won't listen to anything that I have to say but that's just my one thing that I think other people can agree with.
(23:35):
So yeah, so yeah, and in honor of National Dog Day Today let's talk about Misty Puff my beauty golly. If you don't know anything about them they are a herding dog and herding group they're actually one of the oldest breeds they started off they nearly got eradicated in World War two and there are people that are slowly trying to keep and preserve the
(24:00):
historicalness of this alive they are both a loose side and a strong eye dog what does that actually mean it means that they can do both. Some dogs are more of the drover type and some are more of the leave them in the highlands and let them figure it out.
They're smart they are funny and yeah if you are curious about them go and follow bounce bark and hike at Tik Tok and that will be the best I think resource for other places aside from the bearded colly club of America.
(24:37):
And yeah I hope that you enjoyed this episode of Gen Z GAB it has been a lot of you know me catching up sharing my ideas as well as you know just random things that are going through my head, which again fair enough I also was you know separately a thing that I have to say as I'm wrapping up here.
(25:01):
My heart is with you if you're in the medical community etc especially if you're someone like me who needs you know their meds for ADHD the fact that it's been hard I feel for the pharmacist I feel for the people I feel for everyone and I just want to say that I finally got my meds and that's why I'm making this video and so for anyone who's saying that you know all this stuff is evil whatever.
(25:28):
I've been finally able to actually do things I know that's weird but it helps so much and I know that people are going to agree disagree whatever but this is why I say again why Tim Walls is such a great person to watch his son talk about their own issues as a neurodiverging kid whether or not it is or isn't an issue and I just want to keep
(25:55):
saying that because as someone who is neurodiverging it has been a long hard road and I just want to emphasize again just how much it feels good to feel seen and understood because not a lot of people understood the nonverbal learning disorders not a lot of people understood the neurodivergence and not a lot of people understand
(26:17):
what varieties look like as well as you know a lot of people saying that you can't have this many things yes you can a lot of them are comorbidities and this is why I'm saying that not everyone is in conjunction to this and that and yes self diagnosis is valid but it's also awareness that is bringing being brought to the community and I think that that is great
(26:44):
because again I think I go through different hyper fixations different things and not everyone understands anything that we're starting in an understanding of that especially with what went on and what went down during the Olympics when no Lyles talked about his own
etc so yeah that's where I'm at and so yes as I wrap this up I want to say that I will probably be talking about a lot of you know the new recipes that I'm going through because we just got a new smoothie blender because the blenders were dying on me and I'm trying to get a little bit back in some of the routine of
(27:24):
you know sticking to a schedule finding foods I like subvenin same thing for a while and I know that's people but you know I'm not our fit I don't have our fit but I'm kind of a picky eater but if you guys remember
Brooke Alex who's on the podcast a while back she's talked about her own struggles as well as that her new EP big mouth is coming out and so she if you download it she will try a new type of food so that's fine I wanted to talk about that though again in conjunction with neurodivergence because that
(28:00):
happens as well so all the people that have their comments etc just remember you don't know everything about everyone and that's okay again I'm giving a spoiler alert right here just so you know that this is what happened in the second half of season two of that
90s show it makes me think of the scene where kitty talks about Donna being such a picky eater and this is why I don't always like kitty I love kitty in a comedic sense but just as the mother-in-law I feel for Donna honestly but you know when Donna said she's allergic to
(28:35):
shrimp and that her tongue literally swells up I know that that was kind of used for just a comedic side joke but then it went into you're always picky you're always this um yeah I wonder what you would have been like if you know I had been there during the time with
my own allergy stuff and I know people are laughing because again it's a fictional cartoon but it's very truthful also she's a nurse so again I get it that these are little levels of funniness and humor and that we're taking things too seriously especially because I'm Gen Z but this is what I start to think about
(29:10):
especially someone who's soy and gluten intolerant who legitimately gets a bad reaction not the same level as Donna's character but it is very prevalent to talk about because I think like that that old world and I get it that we're in a different
generation and that 70s show took place in that in the 90s and that 90s shows are taking place in the 2000s 20s and so on so forth but that's just the vibe that I got so again again I know things aren't meant to be big in that seriously but that was just kind of my two sons on it
(29:51):
anyway so this has been episode 79 of Gen Z Gab and we will see you soon alright bye guys
