(00:00):
Okay what is up everyone this is Sarah G and it's Gen Z Gab let's get into it.

(00:05):
So this has been a lot of crazy things going on and I apologize for you know
kind of being on my at the past few weeks I add something come up for work
I'm a freelancer so I just kind of have to pick and choose and play it by year and

(00:25):
you know it was really fun I got to do a huge project that I actually got to use
some of my tech skills on so it was really really exciting in my mind to do
that and then I just taking a break has been always a big thing I know people
can go on and on and on that it seems like all I do is talk about mental
health and stuff true and by the way I have been trying to take a break from

(00:49):
TikTok and so I've been posting a lot less also because I always get frickin
strikes no matter what I do because again I had spent so much time talking
about Congo talking about you know Sudan talking about Palestine and they
shadowban me because they don't want me to they don't want people to keep

(01:09):
talking about it so I just keep reposting things then I get a strike or
even though I'm reacting to something but they claim that that's not enough so
TikTok is really going downhill and they only protect themselves and you know
what there have been a lot of big creators that have been having issues
and I have blocked a few big creators that I used to really like I haven't

(01:31):
liked them now I've been like them in like a good year and I genuinely message
some of them and believe they were a better person than they were but no some
of these people are dating people when they're 25 and their bestie is 17 I
could never imagine doing that as a 26 year old being attracted to someone that's

(01:53):
18 so yeah you're a little pervy and gross and a lot of things you say are
still racist and it's like no matter how much you have people on your side
problematic people hang out in like a group so there's that I have been like

(02:14):
on a never-ending cycle of just debunking everything and also this is just
your reminder everyone that these influencers don't give a shit about you
you know they're hiding behind a lot of things and yes my part is with the
victim etc and so much that it bothers me that we have such this you know thing

(02:39):
about nuances etc and I talked about it a lot here on you know the podcast
different things and I'm just gonna give a thing about GC Kaelin doing this
stuff and he hangs out with a certain person that's been listed right now and
the only reason that I'm a little nervous to say the name is just because I

(03:00):
don't want to be sued because this person has gone after a few creators who
have spoken out about him specifically in his name and those girls deserve
justice that is the clue on who you should search for because these girls

(03:21):
deserve a lot of justice and yep and it's really frustrating how much we
normalize you know or are okay with elder guys hanging out with younger
women and it gets back to the Dave Portnoy slash Jason Nash you know it

(03:42):
where everything is so normalized and then not to mention Bryce Hall and
Taylor Holden you know I just get so annoyed because I used to think again I
commented how real these people were because this is how lonely you were
during quarantine and it's just a never-ending cycle of oh shit what

(04:06):
actually went down here did I screwed this up this is not actually these
people don't give a shit about you they just want you to boost up their egos and
they just want you to you know kind of like quiet on set they want you to write
in a testimony when they eventually go to court so yeah also know just cuz you

(04:28):
have a black friend or a black brother or you know a different race family member
etc that doesn't inherently make you not racist okay because there's a lot of
white people need to do to reconstruct what happens because again we use a lot
of language and as an 80 each year as I said multiple times I know I've used

(04:50):
language very wrongly trying to get my point across and it always comes out
wrong like I had a conversation with my brother today too where I was just like
yo like dude I hope you're not like treating someone like your mom like
making them do all this stuff for you because that's not great and as someone

(05:12):
who's trying to break the cycle of being a parentified eldest daughter and yes
I'm the middle child and I know I'm switching gears but that's kind of the
rule that inadvertently gets put on you and that's kind of why when somebody
asks me why don't you date I don't need a man child that uses me as his mother

(05:33):
because I've already as an older sister kind of filled that rule you know you
have to be all these things and it's currently just breaking my own avoid
attachment style and I know that that kind of went in a different segue than
I was talking about earlier but that's just what it is and also between making

(05:54):
friends online it's shown me an insight to what apps would be like and it's
never worked out so girls delete your dating apps boys whatever because also
there's a lot of internet safety thing that Dana Eve you should follow her
online some of the safety tips that she brings in self-offense because there's

(06:14):
not a lot of great things that come out of it I'm not saying for the small
population that has worked for that's fine I just think it's whatever not
great and this a lot of these internet creators who go after younger women is
because they know that they can manipulate them even if they don't think
so and then they also try to use the trauma against them of maybe them being

(06:39):
a parentified and pretend just wanting to be coddled and that's just not that's
not gonna work and it's really really gross and I know that it's like a oh my
gosh you're projecting I don't think so because a lot of things that a lot of
these guys on the internet a lot of these vloggers on the internet say are

(07:01):
disgusting and no wonder when they say girls my age don't like me it's cuz
you're a immature be your praying on younger people and see you are mama's
boys that come to your defense every time like I don't need that in my life
alright I got some family members that way and you know again trying to break

(07:23):
the cycle of narcissistic grandmas potentially so yeah and I know this is a
lot that I'm covering and talking very fast Leon but again I had work stuff
come up a few weeks ago so I couldn't do the podcast and I was away for the week
in the last couple weeks and I'm still gonna be away so my schedule is a little

(07:45):
more like popcorn if you will like I have to record when I can and post when I
can so this is gonna be a special one that I post Wednesday and that we're
gonna watch and enjoy I know it's not the typical day to post it but that's
just our roles I'm you know trying to figure out if I do a different schedule

(08:08):
if I switch the date if I try to make it more you know by weekly because I truly
enjoy keeping up with doing this but as I said I get burned out and overwhelmed
so easily again with Port of July coming up we have extra visitors coming so I've
been cleaning as well and it's just a lot of different things so of course I

(08:32):
haven't had time to sit down and actually do this also been dealing with some of
my own health problems like I talked about in the past with the haaching
modos and and no matrices I know oh my gosh she's talking about she's talking
about her period yeah but it's okay a lot of people suffer from it and it's
okay not to be okay it's okay to suffer from PMDD and so on and so forth it's

(08:55):
okay to knee breaks and as a micro creator I can give myself that space
because I've noticed also too within the giant creator stratosphere with the
very high up well-known people believe that they're entitled to your entire
life like I'm gonna use an example right now I'm not gonna say the name of the

(09:18):
creator but you can figure out she has a premature full and people are not
listening to the boundaries and people are getting really obsessive about the
specific horse and what is needed etc and I just personally have not liked it
so I had to unfollow and it's a little sad but sometimes it's necessary kind of

(09:44):
again with anyone you have to decide is it enough to be following this person or
are their culti fans too much and that is a huge thing and that's what you're
noticing and why some of these creeps get protected and why some of their

(10:05):
victims feel like that they weren't a victim and it's again reminding me so
much I watched Celine Dion documentary and it's again the whole situation with
their husband is just so bizarre so weird and you know just the fact that it's

(10:26):
never an encycl and I believe like a lot of people that the stiff syndrome was
kind of you know caused a little bit by that fact of the matter of her having
Stockholm syndrome it appears because it was not a lot of story it was a really
strange bizarre like a 12 year old the whole situation so yeah someday I'm

(10:50):
gonna probably have a psychologist on so we can talk about that because that is
just way too normalized in society especially with men and women but can we
talk about also Aaron Taylor Johnson and his wife oh like that whole thing I
know people are gonna say that's like the crying news what about the guy from

(11:10):
changer things I could make a huge list but I don't really want to because I get
sick just thinking about it I get sick thinking about how I'm even talking
about this but we have to bring attention and also we have to bring
attention to problematic creators who are racist and who get to keep skating
by because yes I know looking at myself how much privilege I have but if I don't

(11:33):
keep talking about this then the more it gets swept under a rug and that's just
not okay I also want to specify that there's still families in Palestine that
I will show the go-fund me for a little farra and her family who've been blocked
on tiktok and the only reason that I'm jumping from one to another is because
again they are in a situation that is unimaginable and I'm keeping up with pop

(11:59):
culture more but I wanted to use my platform for good and I wanted to
mention it quick so yes we'll have that go for me placed here and again I just
think you know it's like a oh my gosh but now I'm doing that but it's like a no
it's a factual thing about life that we kind of take for granted we overthink

(12:23):
everything and then there's that thing that's going on that people want us to
be silent and not talk about so yeah I can name a name of a family but yes I'm
still a little scared and that just shows to you the level of how terrifying
you know famous because these people have ways around it and it how terrifying

(12:47):
it is that people don't want to speak out about it because they're scared for
their own safety and the same thing can be said like I said when I'm talking
about social justice issues I remember when Laura High was on a while back she
talks about donor conception and some of her friends as well are in the adoption
industry and the amount of time that they've said things it is truly

(13:11):
interesting and terrifying to see how much of the they know and how much they
have to preface everything so it's again this media circus of people who think
they know things there's just people who actually know things versus the people
they are connected with and it all goes around and around and around and yeah so

(13:33):
there's that I will definitely talk about in like lighter news other things
because again there's a whole crap load of things but there's just so many things
going on in the TikTok drama right now with the Mary Tate person Maryam she

(13:54):
pretends to be this person she's pretending to be a lot of different
identities and it's just not okay I didn't appreciate this person when they
started I followed them because I genuinely like a lot of people believe
that they were Palestinian or Arab but they're lying as usual this is another
one of those slum land situations and then you find out that they also lied

(14:20):
about so much stuff last year and they keep trying to reinvent themselves and
it's just a never-ending cycle of what the fuck is going on here and I think
that yeah that's truthful you should definitely follow Melissa the adoptee
educator for what I'm about to say because currently there has been a lot

(14:44):
of stuff going on in that community and as a person who's not a part of it she
can definitely teach you way more and I just really adore her content she's not
someone who shows her kids a lot she's very big on reconnection etc and I think
it's very good also I guess I just have a soft spot because her husband's

(15:05):
Colombian and Irish and as an Irish American it's pretty cool to see that
and just how much her kids know about their cultures so as someone who's
third generation still trying to reconnect it's like I'm Irish American
but again all the stuff that your grandparents thought you isn't really
the culture so it's like a different thing that being said a neurodivergent

(15:32):
you might remember him from when I talked about the teachers off 3d podcast
the problem is he is ableist as hell he does not believe in self diagnosis and a
lot of his takes are incredibly horrid and he knows it as well as the way that
he talks about poverty and just women in general and that was another reason why

(15:53):
I think you should follow Melissa the adoptee educated and yes I know I am
talking at like supersonic speed but again I have to cover so much stuff that
has happened in the last few weeks so that you know I'm pretty much caught up
for by the time you know I return in the middle of July because again I've got so
many other things going on that I can't be as

(16:19):
the pot consistent with the podcast there you go it's like oh what are you
getting at so again as I keep talking more and more I realize that there are
so many good people out there and not enough people are following them and
that's makes me sad so again I'm gonna use my platform for good because I've

(16:41):
talked about so many awful people that you shouldn't follow it right given like
little code names or hints for because that's true and at some point you have
to realize that again as I finish up this part of my podcast before I segue

(17:02):
into my review of that 90s show part two which was phenomenal but we cannot keep
thinking that these influencers are actor etc are our friend yes we can make
connections but we are not actually people to the 99.9% of the time we can
think that it's gonna be different but then usually it comes out to not and

(17:26):
I'm not saying this to be an ass I'm saying this as a reminder because with
our society and how COVID changed everything you just never really know
and it's a lesson that you have to learn over and over again unfortunately so
again I'm just reminding people one we should not humanize animals that need

(17:47):
to maybe be a little less because there's a point where you might see one
that you've become close with need to not be around anymore because it's less
for them to be in pain and you can't judge a person for making that call I've
just seen a lot of people begging on vets and farmers and breeders for

(18:10):
situations lately so I just wanted to touch on that quickly as well as you know
that cool big-time hot shot influencer that you think you made a connection with
no no that's not true just let it go I know that it's hard but these people
that just don't care as much and you can see their snarky side coming out and

(18:33):
three just spend time you know away from the phone away from the noise it's okay
to choose yourself because again as someone who's neurodivergent like it's
overwhelmed super easily as someone who's looked at for a lot of
responsibility in the family that's trying to unlearn the generational trauma

(18:56):
just within herself even you really really really need to let go of that and
I know people go it's easier said than done but that is why I am putting out
there that I'm not going to be quite as consistent anymore and before anyone says
oh you need to be consistent in order to be successful I've been trying to be as

(19:16):
consistent as humanly possible fun fact of it all is that hard work pays off to
some extent but it's a lot of luck and sometimes you don't have that I
unfortunately had a lot of funerals to go to recently and that was a lot of
different messages that I came across and a lot of the people that work hard

(19:41):
don't get unfortunately recognized till the end of their life and as sad as it
is it's like how do you want to be remembered and at least you know it
really does show no good deed goes unnoticed and it's simple act of kindness
and again I know it sounds very cliche a lot of these points that I'm hitting but

(20:04):
there's a difference between being selfless selfish and doing things because
it makes you feel good and I guess it kind of reminds me of that friends
episode where Phoebe did something and then it makes her feel good but she said
it's completely selfless with the PBS thing and maybe it is all good deeds
to have some level of selfishness but I genuinely don't believe that there's a

(20:28):
lot of that ulterior motive and a lot of things and maybe that's just the mid
western nice and me because again I see where I'm watching that 90s show right
now and by the way Gwen is for sure hides me so that's I'm gonna stand by that
firmly that he's got a brother that was never shown and that she's Andy Angie

(20:51):
and hides me and she looks so much like Angie but I could see Timory coming back
as WB playing her grandpa giving gifts to her and you know even her brother Nate
because there's family things there but and then you know him going to a kitty
and saying something but I just could see that play out so well and I don't

(21:15):
think she has to be hide's kid in order to have some similarities to him because
we all share similarities to certain relatives and it would also parallel
some things with the families like half siblings and it's normalized because

(21:36):
they're always your sibling and yeah I definitely like seeing the progression
of writing and just how more of them become natural I understand there's
still some issues with the situation that went off off-screen with certain
allegations against a certain person and I 100% agree that we should cancel most

(22:01):
the people that wrote letters and support but that doesn't mean that we
should you know hate on the kids who are part of the new show and you know that
kind of stuff those kids haven't done anything yet those kids are just
starting out and you know it's a very entertaining script I like how it's

(22:24):
well written and brings up you will forever be my favorite side character
and yeah so I'd hope to see Tofer Grace in the future again but who knows I
understand and the feelings are valid and work is valid but I did want to say
that I've been noticing over time though that kitty is a textbook narcissist and

(22:47):
before anyone comes at me it's like a she needs everything to be in her control
and the way she tries to manipulate things to happen like for Donna and Eric
to move back and you know he's her perfect little special little boy and
you know she tried to convince Donna to have a second kid and I know these are
all major spoilers but they're happy in their situation and then the minute that

(23:11):
she gets her dad to move back it was like oh my gosh all the grandparents are
here yeah yeah yeah yeah and you know there's just a lot of chaoticness I'm
very sad that it takes till October until the third part comes out because I
have to wait so much longer again but it was very well done the first part of

(23:35):
season two and I can't wait for more ahead I definitely as a Gen Z kid that's
even though I'm older than them I find it pretty funny and nostalgic as someone
who grew up in part of the early 2000s that still had some of this 90s stuff
and yes I am L. Gen Z 1997 through 2002 is a part of Gen Z it's the first part

(24:04):
and then it's like a lot of these kids who were born were born right in the
middle of it and then the later kids who are born in like 2010 plus that's the
Gen Alpha cusp so I know that I keep talking about all this different
things but it's just very important to me to clarify this as we keep going

(24:25):
because otherwise I think people get confused that I'm still millennial I'm
not I'm proud to be Gen Z I know that people can say that's really weird that
you're proud of it but I have nothing against it and I think that you know
just the viewpoints of different people come and go but I think

(24:50):
Zeleniel is more of a term coined for people born 1992 through 96 but again it
doesn't really matter much I like just how much you know less awkward the script
feels and everyone's doing phenomenally well with what they've got and I know

(25:12):
people are gonna laugh at me because I keep repeating a lot of the same things
but it's just I'm trying not to give away too many spoilers I know a lot of
people go if you haven't been shit by now when what will happen but it's like a
yeah I don't have much more to say but this has been a new interesting

(25:33):
experience for me just to be able to see like oh my gosh even though this is in
the 90s some of the stuff happened in early 2000s as well and it's just giving
me such nostalgia and I can't almost watch that 70s show the same way anymore
because I I love the characters but what happened that off-screen is almost too

(25:56):
unbearable to be able to stand also fezz is a fucking creep on and off screen and
I don't care who knows it the more that comes out like the fact of the matter is
that I think so many of them could have so many issues just keep reappearing and

(26:17):
it makes complete and total sense why some of them don't get along and that's
valid and we should stop bullying them to reappear or why they do that because
again like with quiet on set etc like it makes them think about again the boy
meets world people who were co-hurst into writing a testimony for someone and

(26:39):
now looking back they said it's so weird how and I know somebody's like well one
of them was 28 yeah but you know what they're now 20 years later looking back
at it so differently and I understand people make mistakes I understand that
you can't just forget and forget but or forgive and forget but you know at least

(27:00):
some of these people feel genuine in their response and they're not just
trying to monetize up of everything and I still think it's super strange that you
know how much people protect other people in the industry but it shouldn't
obviously be that way or done that way but that's then my theory with how much

(27:22):
openly has been stated on some of these sets and then some of these you know
influencers and the fact that it's just mediocre white boys getting away with it
every single time so as we wrap up this podcast I just have to ask one thing
how many people actually watched a Nathan's hot dog eating contest because

(27:45):
to me that seems like one of the weirdest things ever I know I watch it but I
get grossed out and usually can't finish watching it like the fact that my
brothers literally watch it my dad does and they sit around and it's like for an
actual sport Kobayashi Joey Chesnut aren't even in it and they're like the

(28:07):
most well-known and again there's different reasons for retiring but
seriously like how do you get that much enjoyment of stuffing your face full of
food it like it gives me a lot of acid reflex just looking at it I will watch
brief moment and you know try to see around who stays but it's like I do not

(28:29):
like watching people get sick from eating that much stuff in that like it's
just this though will not be a thing that I will say it makes our country fall
apart if anything it makes us join together as one as weird as it is
there's so many weird things that go on on the fourth and you know when you
really break down what happened during the fourth of July that's a separate

(28:52):
issue but oh my freaking god like the fact that my brother last night asked
what time does it start my dad asked what time does it start and they know
what channel it is on by heart the thing is I've never been a big hot dog and
and then just watching that has never made me want to even consume a lot more

(29:16):
of them I guess it's just my brain going up through it all but I'd rather eat a
bunch why couldn't it be a watermelon eating contest honestly why couldn't it
be like you know the hot ones presents a new thing I mean there's so many other
foods that you could whose decision was this now I know I could start to
Wikipedia article but it's just like what is going on here what makes this so so

(29:43):
interesting to everyone just to me it's kind of weird like an ally yeah one thing
I want to remind everyone is make sure that their pets are safe and sound
inside during the fourth of July because especially this week that there is more

(30:05):
dogs that run away this month whatever because yeah just because you can think
you desensitize your dog to something doesn't mean that they won't get scared
and whatnot I mean I have a breed that's I mean herding dogs are a little more
notorious from what I've read up on but again it's not everyone but it's also

(30:27):
like no matter how many times you ask can you please I don't know hold off till
the Wednesday or whatever day before like this week it's the Wednesday before
4th of July the day before all I'm asking don't start them a week before
something like I get it that they are sports and other like music festivals

(30:50):
going on that happen that you need to do this yes I can completely get on board
and understand that but it's like I just doing it for fun and the first you know
how much more and static that the dog hears and the cat can be a totally
different thing but these are animals that like your little kid that might be

(31:10):
afraid of fireworks they won't just get over it or the sign and thing yes
eventually over time your kid might get a little more desensitized but it doesn't
mean that they don't jump and as human beings we all go through ebbs and flows
so just a reminder please be conscientious about other people's animals not

(31:31):
just that also war veterans that have PTSD medics you just never know why
some people might not want as loud of fireworks so I hope you enjoy have a
healthy and safe you know we weekend and this has been episode 75 gens e-gab

(31:54):
and we will see you soon
