In Day 30 of our 40-Day "Journey with Jesus: A Lenten Reflection", we begin with John 1:12 NIV.
Dear brothers and sisters,
What a beautiful scripture we have today; it speaks of the greatest gift we could ever hope to receive —adoption as God’s son or daughter, unity, becoming an insider, belonging, uniting, inclusion and belonging to God’s family. All we need to do to receive this gift is to believe in Jesus Christ.
Have you have ever heard the term “Gotcha Day”, a day that adoptive parents use to celebrate the anniversary of the day their adoption of a son or daughter is finalized and legal? If you have ever known someone going through the adoption process, you might have witnessed how exciting, emotional and wonderful that day is to both adoptive parents and the child(ren) they are adopting. The adoption process can often be arduous, lengthy, trying and sometimes met with sadness when an adoption doesn’t go through. It can be a gut wrenching and challenging time for parents, but when adoptive parents believe and have faith, is so rewarding when it is finally completed, legal and sealed, and they can say “Gotcha!” to the new addition to their family.
Join us on the podcast today a learn all about the God “Gotcha” that Jesus purchased for us all.
Daily Scripture:
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—,” John 1:12 NIV
