In Day 31 of our 40-Day "Journey with Jesus: A Lenten Reflection", we begin with 1 Thessalonians 5:9 NKJV.
Dear brothers and sisters,
Today’s scripture has been used to illustrate many things, but most commonly it is used as a scripture of comfort to believers when talking about the end times.
Many, many times preachers and bible teachers have pointed out that the “Tribulation” period referred to in the Bible is a time where God is pouring out His wrath upon the earth. This this verse assures us that we will no longer be here during that time period, which then supports the teaching of the rapture of all believers prior to tribulation period. When used to illustrate this point about that particular part of God’s plan, we couldn’t agree more and also recognize that this was truly Paul’s intended meaning when he penned these words so many years ago. However, there is another subtle point that is contained in this verse which we will be digging into on today’s podcast and we’d love to have you join us as we discuss it!
Daily Scripture:
“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,”
