and offering real hope.
Today's show will encourage, inspire and empower you to face
life's challenges with a boldconfidence and renewed hope.
Now let's join our host, ronMyers.
The promoter.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hello, my friends, it
is so good to be with you today
.
Happy Easter, boy.
I love this time of year.
Everything is new around us,flowers are blooming, you can
feel the sense of new beginnings.
So today I thought for theEaster program I want to bring
in an author, somebody that haswritten about discovering God's
(00:44):
plan for your life.
And I found an extraordinaryspeaker and author Andre Blythe.
He wrote a book called SomeAssembly Required Discovering
God's Plan for your Life.
Andre, welcome to the show andtell us what's going on with you
, what's your story.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
Thank you, you first
of all, ron, for having me.
You know, when I look at mylife, I see the handprint of God
all over it, even in the dayswhere I was not one of his
(01:22):
children, meaning I hadn'treceived Jesus as my Savior and
Lord.
And even in the midst of all ofthat, god had some specific
plans for me and I started outmy business career in retail and
then I transitioned over intopayments at the very lowest
levels of leadership that God,through a series of, you know,
providential things, has movedme from the entry level all the
(01:46):
way up to the C-suite and butalso in ministry.
You know I've been a ministerfor 30 plus years preach other
gospel, former senior pastor.
But it's nothing like thepersonal life alliance with
Jesus walking alongside him andseeing how the plans that he has
(02:08):
for you unfold, one step at atime.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
That is so true.
I was in the business world formany years doing my own thing
and I had fun.
I thought I had fun until I gottired of it, and I tell people
that it's so amazing that whenyou start walking with Jesus and
he inspires you with ideas, that I'm doing things today I
(02:32):
never knew I could do and I canonly attribute that because I am
discovering each day more andmore of God's plan for our life.
Does that make sense?
It?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
does.
And the one thing that I tellthe readers, and I've shared
with people throughout my life,is that the closer you walk in
lockstep with Christ, with theHoly Spirit, the closer you're
going to get to God unveilinghis plans, as I also share in my
(03:05):
book.
I broke it down in two partsbased on Jeremiah 29.
And the first part says we mustprepare practically.
While we're in bondage, whilewe're waiting for our
breakthrough, while we'rewaiting to be delivered, we
still need to preparepractically, and that may not
(03:27):
resonate with some people, butyou have to realize the
background of that passage.
They were in captivity and yetGod comes with a message that
says live like you are free.
And the second part of the bookis pursue persistently.
Part of the book is pursuepersistently.
Too often we go to God withevent-driven prayers, meaning we
(03:57):
have a situation, so let's pray.
We have a problem, so let'spray.
What about going to God from arelational perspective, in other
words having a conversationwith him every single day, so
that when those fires of lifecome, it won't be like a distant
relationship that you're tryingto stoke up again?
So that's the way I look at thebook, but as well as my life in
(04:17):
general, and I put plenty ofpractical examples in the book
to describe that to readers.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Now what do you mean?
Live like you're free.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
When we're in
captivity, and I'll use an
example of myself.
In fact, I was diagnosed withan incurable autoimmune disease
coming up on eight years ago and, of course, my first prayer was
God, heal me, deliver me, curethis incurable disease.
(04:51):
But what I heard in my spiritwas my grace is sufficient.
So, in the middle of havingthis disease that I still carry
today, even though it wasdormant, thank God, the
challenge for me was you arehere for a reason and a season,
so don't live just because yourenvironment looks like captivity
(05:15):
.
You belong to the Most High God, so live like you are free in
Him.
Live in anticipation of hisdeliverance.
Don't saturate in the sorrow ofyour bondage.
I hope that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Yeah, that makes
sense.
So you talk to a lot of peopleout there, maybe in church and
out of church.
What do you feel is the onething people are looking for
right now in life?
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, I think one of
the things that intrinsically
people are looking for ispurpose, even though they may
not define it per se as purpose.
It per se as purpose.
But when you see people going acertain direction or trying to
aspire to get to this particularpoint in life, at the genesis
of it or the foundation of it,is probably searching for
(06:05):
purpose.
We can get additional degrees,we can get promotions, we can
acquire wealth, we can do all ofthose things, but at the end of
the day, if you're not pursuingthe purpose God has for your
life, all of those things willleave you empty, and I can
testify to that particular fact.
(06:27):
So I think purpose, findingpurpose, and then moving forward
in it, and then moving forwardin it.
And one thing I don't want yourlisteners to hear is that I'm
saying there's anything wrongwith prospering.
There's nothing wrong withprospering.
However, prospering issecondary to you walking with
(06:47):
the Lord, and then when heblesses you, he blesses you to
be used to help others.
So it's a matter of finding apurpose and that's why, again,
the book is broken down into twoparts prepare practically,
pursue persistently.
If we're doing those two things, god will unfold his plans and
(07:09):
his next steps to us.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Exactly.
In fact, listeners, the bookwe're talking about is Some
Assembly Required DiscoveringGod's Plan for your Life.
I love that title.
How has the response been sinceyour book has been?
Speaker 3 (07:24):
out.
That's a great, great questionand I love the title too and I
give you a little insight.
At first I was going to namethe book Discovering God's Plans
for your Life and then thesubtopic was going to be Some
Assembly Required.
And my publisher and I weretalking and we thought that the
Some Assembly Required would bethe headline and the subtitle
(07:47):
would be Discovering God's Planfor your Life.
So I've had the opportunity tobetween the online outlets, I,
you know the online outlets I'mon all the major online outlets
and speaking engagements andsigning events that I've had so
far almost 500 copies sinceOctober 27th of last year.
(08:10):
Yeah, so it is.
It is being received.
I've got some really goodreviews online as well from the
book so far, but I believe we'rejust scratching the surface.
My goal is to get nationalattention around this message.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
But you know, the one
thing, andre, that you've
discovered, I discovered is thatwe are searching for our place
in life.
We want to be accepted.
We want to be accepted, we wantto be noticed and we do things
to fill the little things in ourlife, like I did with
promotions and events, but theynever did.
They never really.
I always felt something missingand I tell people sometimes you
(08:49):
need that missing part in yourlife, you need to be missing
things.
You know, the title of the showis called Get the Hell Out of
your Life, and I'd say often topeople that some people aren't
ready to find their purposebecause they haven't had enough
hell in their life yet to drivethem to search for their purpose
.
And sometimes the adversity inour lives and the troubles and
(09:12):
the trials and the tribulationis really that is the
opportunity.
If we do a search, we're goingto find something that God, you
know, maybe he's trying to getour attention.
What do you think?
Speaker 3 (09:23):
I wholeheartedly
agree.
I often tell people thatbrokenness is the birthplace of
breakthrough and because of thatwe will have adversity in our
lives.
You can look at the story ofJob, you can look at the story
of Moses, you can look at thestory of Joseph in Genesis and
see how adversity came in theirlives.
(09:46):
But because they were walkingwith God, they were able to see
it all the way through.
It wasn't comfortable, itwasn't their preference, just
like when we go throughadversity.
I mean, I have no qualms withthe fact that, yes, I want the
thorn in my flesh, thisincurable thing, healed and
delivered from me, but at thesame time, as long as God's
(10:11):
sufficient grace is walking withme, then I can make it.
As long as God's sufficientgrace is walking with me, then I
can make it.
But adversity sometimes willbring you to your knees.
And when you do, when you doand that's why I said earlier
that we cannot be our prayerlives can't be driven event-wise
(10:31):
.
It needs to be driven by ourrelationship with the Lord.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
So when we are in
those adverse times, we're able
to look up to the hills, knowingwhere I help.
Coach from Amen.
You mentioned Moses a minuteago and it reminded me.
Years ago I was doing anoutdoor rally or a little
speaking thing and I told thegroup or the audience that you
know, I don't know why it tookme so long in life to see the
light, and it was like I was 40years old and I don't know why
it took so long.
(11:04):
Well, a gentleman came up when Ifinished and he said Mr Ron, mr
Ron, I need to tell you, remember, god trained Moses in
the palaces of Pharaoh before hesent him out into the world,
and I thought you know what thatmakes sense.
Sometimes we are being trainedin what, like you were as a boss
(11:26):
and a CEO and a senior pastor.
He trained you in the ways ofthe world, you in the ways of
the world.
But then, at the right time, the perfect time, god called you
as an author and a speaker nowto take some of that knowledge
and speak life into individuals.
And you're doing a great job,andre.
Thank you so much for whatyou're doing out there to help
(11:49):
people.
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
You know, one of the
things that I hear in the
business world, where we havepeople are trying to show up to
get promoted, to get moreopportunity, to get raises, for
a number of reasons.
But what I try to tell them iswe must stay away.
Part of discovering God's planfor our lives is staying away
from living compartmentally.
(12:13):
Lives is staying away fromliving compartmentally.
We have a mindset that says, okay, I'm at work, let me put my
work hat on.
I'm at church, let me put mychurch hat on.
I'm at home, let me put my homehat on.
And what I try to encouragepeople that I mentor is you are
one person.
Stop trying to be multiplepeople.
(12:33):
Whoever the Lord has createdyou to be, show up in that way
at work.
Now, of course, there arenuances when you get into the
business world and to thoseother areas, but you know we can
make it through the adversity.
We can find our purpose byshowing up as a child of God.
(12:53):
Amen, showing up as a child ofGod every single day and
allowing ourselves to be used.
It's a huge mistake to show upwith mask on because, depending
upon the environment, you mightforget which mask you have on.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
So, in other words,
we need to be doing life with
Jesus 24-7.
It's not just one day a week orone time in the morning that
when we are aware of doing lifewith Jesus, he is our oxygen.
Things just naturally seem toflow out of us.
There was a gentleman the otherday said you know, I just am so
(13:30):
stuck with a problem I havewith my business.
I said well, listen, you'reonly one divine thought away
from a breakthrough.
That breakthrough is going tocome from God.
So why don't you just kind ofhave a positive expectancy?
And, lord, thank you for theanswer you're going to give me.
And when you least know it, youmay be exercising at the gym or
(13:51):
walking.
You're going to get this ideaand you're going to know right
then, that's from God.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Absolutely.
God still speaks, he speaks.
We have to quiet the noise ofthe world around us so that we
can hear and speak through hisword.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
You know I try to
encourage the listeners.
Andre is coffee with Jesus andI have my coffee with Jesus
every morning.
That still quiet voice and Isaid you know, the good thing
about Jesus being united withChrist is that we can share our
heart or joys or worries orwhatever we're scared of, and we
(14:30):
just bear our soul with mycoffee with Jesus and it's
amazing how he would just speakto the hurts in our life and
minister to us.
And I think Jesus loves tominister to us but we just
sometimes don't slow down to lethim do what he does best and
that is just really love thehell out of our life.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Yes, really love the
hell out of our life, yes, and I
think that one of the thingsthat I love and I'm reminded of
is speaking.
God speaks through the silence.
You know, I was listening tothis song by Anthony Evans Jr
and it's called Speaking Throughthe Silence, and it's hard for
us to hear God in the midst ofthe silence, because our voice,
(15:16):
or that voice of doubt, thatvoice of fear, is speaking a lot
louder.
So one of the things I addressin the book is be still and
allow God to use you where youare.
And I use an example in thebook about, you know, having to
(15:36):
leave a high paying role, executive level role and then
being hired in a role that'sprobably three to four levels
below what I was capable, and,of course, that meant the income
was way lower as well.
But rather than sitting therein my pity party, god shook me
(15:57):
and said listen, there arepeople around you who need your
expertise.
Make what you can do availableto us, shine your light where
you are, and then I'll take careof the rest.
Stop trying to get to a certainlevel and just operating your
gifts where I have you.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
That is awesome
advice.
It reminds me I was on theradio during Hurricane Katrina.
I interviewed many volunteersthat came from all over the
country.
They were blown away how theywere blessed beyond measure
because they came down here tobe a blessing to people.
But the blessing really wasreversed back to them because
(16:39):
they said, Ron, this feels greatto just do what God wants us to
do, and many of them were doingsemi-annual or annual trips
down here.
There is something about whenwe give of ourselves.
It's like that boomerang effect.
It just comes right back to us,doesn't it?
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Yeah, as you were
speaking, what I was thinking
about is Philippians 2, 1through 5, where and I'll
paraphrase it basically saysesteem others greater than
yourself.
So one of the greatest thingsto do when you're in a waiting
season is to minister to theneeds of somebody else.
(17:18):
Take your mind off of you andput your mind on them.
And then Paul wraps up withverse five have this mind in you
, which is also in Christ Jesus.
So when we become God-centered,we focus on being
other-centered, and then, beforeyou know it, god has moved in
(17:39):
and helped, even minister to theneeds that we originally had.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Amen, brother.
Tell the listeners one moretime the title of your book and
where they can get a copy.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Title of the book
again is Some Assembly Required.
Discovering God's Plans foryour Life.
You can find it online atAmazon, walmart Books for a
Million, and you can alsodownload it in iBookstore and
you can get an e-book copy alsoon Amazon.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Andre.
It's a wonderful book.
Listeners, I highly encourageyou to get it.
And now, andre, will youencourage the listeners as well
as say a prayer for those thatare listening?
Speaker 3 (18:21):
Absolutely.
I think the encouragement wouldbe remember, no matter where
you are, God has you there for areason and for a season.
Don't get locked up in acomplacent attitude.
Remain content, knowing thatGod has you where you are right
now, for a reason and a season.
(18:42):
Let me pray with you, Father.
I thank you right now for theselisteners.
I pray, God, that those thatare in search of your purpose
will find it.
God, they will not find theirwill, but they will find your
will, God.
I pray that you will aligntheir faith with the words of
(19:03):
the Bible, God, and allow them,no matter where they are, to
serve others, to esteem others,to be a great example of Christ,
no matter where they are intheir lives.
For those, God, that arestruggling with the lack of hope
, let them know that you lovethem and that your favor will
(19:24):
rest upon them and God.
Lastly, for those that feellike nobody understands where
they are, I praise you and thankyou that you're omniscient,
meaning you're all-knowing.
You know exactly where they are, you know exactly what they're
thinking and you know exactlywhat they need.
So move by the power of yourspirit to meet those needs.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
When I return life
lessons from Masters Champion
Rory McIlroy.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
You're listening to
Get the Hell Out of your Life
with your host, ron Myers.
Real stories, real strugglesand real hope.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Are you living like
God is a million miles away?
Unfortunately, many people do,but the fact is God is closer
now than ever.
In Old Testament times, thepeople had to worship God from a
great distance.
In fact, there was a veil inthe Old Testament temples that
separated God from his people.
The only persons allowed beyondthe veil, into the holiest of
(20:29):
holies were the priests.
Access to God was limited andintimacy with him was veiled,
both literally and spiritually.
But everything changed withJesus.
In 2 Corinthians, chapter 3,Paul explains that through
Christ, the veil has beenremoved.
Whenever anyone turns to theLord, the veil is taken away
(20:50):
Because of Jesus' sacrifice onthe cross.
We now have full, direct accessto God through Jesus.
The distance that once markedthe relationship between God and
humanity has been closed.
Through faith in Christ, we arenot only granted access, we are
made new.
2 Corinthians, chapter 5 tellsus.
Therefore, if anyone is inChrist, he is a new creation and
(21:14):
you now have direct access tothe creator of the universe
through Jesus.
His blood has made you cleanand new in the eyes of God.
Lord, help us to live each dayas a new creation and help us to
walk more closely with you.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
Here's an encouraging
word today from Psalms, chapter
37, verses 4 through 5.
Delight yourself also in theLord, and he shall give you the
desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord.
Trust also in Him and he shallbring it to pass.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Welcome back
listeners.
(22:20):
Did you watch the Masters?
It was awesome, and I waslooking at that tournament and I
felt a life lesson to sharewith you.
Life is a journey filled withups and downs, but the key to
success, whether in personal orprofessional endeavors, is to
never lose sight of your goalsand never give up.
Take Rory McIlroy's recentvictory at the Masters.
(22:43):
It wasn't just a moment ofglory.
Victory at the Masters, itwasn't just a moment of glory.
It showcased determination, resilience and the relentless
pursuit of dreams.
Rory faced numerous obstaclesthat tested his spirit.
Despite doubts and heavyexpectations, he remained
focused and believed in hisvision of success.
(23:05):
Rory's journey reminds us thatthe path to achievement is
rarely straightforward.
Setbacks can be frustrating, but they can also teach us
valuable lessons.
Each challenge is anopportunity to emerge stronger
and more committed to our dreams.
When Rory stepped onto thegreen at Augusta, he played for
(23:28):
every moment he had ever dreamedof.
His perseverance turned dreamsinto reality and inspired us to
push forward towards our goals,no matter how distant they seem.
So here is the life lesson Iwant to share with you Embrace
(23:48):
challenges has opportunities forgrowth, and remember the only
true failure is the failure totry.
Keep your eyes on the prize anddon't waver from your path.
Your goals, your dreams, theyare worth the fight, as Rory has
shown.
With determination andresilience, victory is not just
(24:12):
possible, it is inevitable.
So go forth, my friend, chaseyour dreams and never, ever give
up.
How do you get the hell out ofyour life?
Speaker 6 (24:23):
Get on your knees and
cry out to the Lord he hears
you, right where you are how toget the hell out of your life.
Get on your knees and cry outto the Lord he hears you, right
where you are.
Speaker 5 (24:28):
How to get the hell
out of your life?
Well, yeah, replace it withJesus.
We got to be born again, bornof the Spirit, and that's by
trusting Jesus Christ, turningfrom our sins and trusting Jesus
.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
You find out about
this man by the name of Jesus,
who went to the cross and gavehis life so that we will have a
life more abundantly.
And if you can receive thatlove, he will love that hell out
of you.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
You trust in him and
you let him love the hell right
out of you.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
How do you get the
hell out of your life?
Oh gosh, Jesus, Jesus, JesusJesus.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
Jesus.
Turn to Jesus.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
Jesus is the way, the
truth and the life.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
No one comes to the
Father except through him.

So how do you get the
hell out of your life?
