and offering real hope.

life's challenges with a fullconfidence and renewed hope.
Now let's join our host, ronMyers.
The Provider.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Hello, my friends, it is so good to be with you today
.
Have you had your conversationwith Jesus today?
Maybe a thank you, lord or Lord?
I have a question.
I'm concerned about something.
Jesus loves it, but we havethose daily conversations.
My name is Ron Myers, I am yourhost, and this is a show called

(00:48):
Get the Hell Out of your Life, and I interview people that
share stories of hope, encouragement, stories that tell
how they got the hell out oftheir life.
I believe we are living in atime right now where we need to
hear from people who have beenin the trenches, in the trials,

(01:12):
in the tribulations of life, butyet their faith took them to a
different level.
Their faith opened up doors ofopportunity.
As you see, friends, you and Ihave a plan, we have a destiny,
we have an assignment here andtoday you're going to hear from

(01:34):
a guest that I just had a funtime talking with him.
Saturday this past Saturday, Iwas on a road trip.
It started Friday night inHattiesburg, mississippi, at the
Sanger Theater, listening andwatching Michael W Smith in
concert.
That an incredible worshipexperience that was.

(01:56):
When we get around people thatare happy about Jesus, they
worship Jesus.
It makes us feel good andreminds us that, no matter what
goes on in the world, jesus hasour back.
Saturday I went up to the bigcity of Meridian, mississippi,
for a birthday party for mywife's nephew, little Cooper

(02:20):
Lott.
So, while we are talking aroundthe kitchen table, this
gentleman was really intriguingtalking about his mixes.
I was just listening and then, finally, I asked him what do you
do?
And he said well, I have, bojack's Mississippi made mixes.
I said really, tell me about it.

(02:41):
And he started telling me aboutthis vision, this dream that he
had years ago from familyrecipes.
And now he's in stores inMississippi and Alabama.
And I told him.
I said, bojack's, I'm going tocall you in the middle of the
week.
I would just love to take a fewminutes and let you share your

(03:02):
story with my listeners.
So that's what I did.
I talked to him and I talked tohis beautiful wife, pat, and
friends.
They love Jesus, they lovedoing business out there in the
marketplace, sharing their ideaswith the world.
So, bojack's, you are anentrepreneur, you are a man that

(03:26):
loves Jesus.
So have you always been adreamer or inventor?

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Yes, I, even as a kid , I was always making things,
you know, or taking somethingand improving on it.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
anyway, so just kind of take us down memory lane,
tell us some of the stuff thatyou've done.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Well, I designed some free stands Bojack's stand and
I developed a ladder stand thatwas different than anybody
else's it was called a hot shotstand.
And then, after that business,my wife and I started to make
mixes, and we started actuallywith my mother's hush hush mix.

(04:06):
We were on Sunday nights, wewent to our pastor's house for
small brews and they were goingto raise money for a relay for
life and of course we didn'tknow what we were going to do
and past, our wife, donna, justsaid well, bojack those hush
puppies that you make.
They're just the best.
We used to go over there andcook fish and hush puppies and

(04:31):
everybody just loved them.
So we said, okay, we had alwaysback of our minds in a few
years.
We had thought about going intobusiness with them, but I think
all we could see was the frozenhush puppies.
We just never really dawned onus about doing something.
You know, that would be ourdriving it, but anyway, we

(04:52):
decided we'd make 50 recipes, put them in nail bags and took
them to the show.
And I took hush puppies andgave people a little crown and
see how good they were.
Anyway, by about 10 o'clock wehad sold out.
So Pat and I said, wow, wow,you know, we're on to something

(05:13):
here.
So we started going to show.
The first show we went to we hadto borrow a tent, borrow a
table, borrow chairs.
Didn't have anything to startout with.
And first thing, when we gotthe extra money, we bought a
tent and then we bought somedirector chairs that we could
sit and talk to people and wejust started going to the shows

(05:35):
and one thing led to another andwe started bringing in some of
the other recipes, the familyrecipes.
A pop-out recipe was deer steakand anyway, we started doing
that and people loved it.
So we got FDA approved, remodelour basement and started from

(05:57):
nothing.
Actually, Joey and take the wigthat I was, bill he was first
customer that we had.
They are one of our very bestcustomers and a real Christian
man and I know he is he is helpus.
And then we went from there andjust started going to the, to
the different store, with mywife.
It was a sale person and shestarted to go in stores and I

(06:22):
went to stores and we ended upwith around 160 stores In
Mississippi and Alabama.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
That's where, right now, faith is a real important
part of your life.
You love Jesus, don't you?

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yes, I do.
I believe it's Jesus is playingand I will say this I went to
my great grandson's birthdayparty Saturday.
He was five years old and Ibelieve that God put people in
your life.
There's no coincidence.
It's a plane and God put you inmy life.

(06:58):
I never would have met you ifit hadn't been for God.
So we thank him for that and wethank him for putting you in, I
guess, in my path.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
I was fascinated to talk with you, bo, because you
were a dreamer, you were a doer.
You and your wife had thesevisions of taking those family
recipes and putting them instores.
That's incredible to somebodythat is struggling in business.
What advice would you give thatperson?

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Well, I think the first thing I would say is that
you need to build your companyaround Jesus, and I think that
that is would be the main thing, but working hard is the next
thing.
Believing in your product wouldbe a big thing to do.
It's easy to get disappointedwhen you start a business and

(07:48):
really get disappointed, but youhave to keep at it and you have
to keep praying and you have tobelieve that everything's going
to work out and it does.
Just.
Like I said a minute ago, thereis no way that you and I would
have ever been in touch witheach other.
We would never know each otherif it hadn't been bad, and I
believe that I believe that.

(08:10):
I know originally I was going togo to the hospital and have a
shot in my back and Lord putevery roadblock to keep me from
having that shot and I willalways believe that and I didn't
have it because of that and Ido believe that it was him that
did that for me.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
So you have some personal experience in life with
Jesus.
He's helped you out of a fewsituations, hasn't he?

Speaker 3 (08:35):
Well, 35 years ago I drank a lot.
I drank every day.
As a matter of fact, I was acontractor and you know, if
you're working for yourself likethat, it's kind of easy to get
away with it.
But I was having a lot ofproblems and I had went one
night to look for some dolls.
One friend of mine had somehunting dogs.

(08:56):
That was gone and I got up bymyself and I was in the woods
and I had a friend of mine thatwas a good guy until he drank
and you just couldn't stand tobe around him when he drank.
He was real mean and talkedreal bad.
I found myself being thatperson.
That's what I was doing.
I was ranting and raving tomyself and I just caught myself

(09:17):
and I wasn't going to church oranything at the time.
I was raising the church, but Iwasn't going at the time and I
stopped and I caught myself andI said, lord, if you would just
take the taste for alcohol awayfrom me, I will never drink
again.
And I had a few beers.
I just threw them in the woodsand you know, ron, I never

(09:39):
wanted alcohol again and I drankevery day and I never wanted
and I never touched it and thatwas 35 years ago.
He turned my life around fromthe kind of person that I was
before and I have given mytestimony a lot of times and I
know that if you believe in himthat he can turn your life

(10:01):
around, seeing you on the directneed to be going.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Do you have a website ?
How can people listening rightnow find some of the product
that you sell?
It's Bojack mixes, and that'show it's listed, your wife
supporting you, helping you withwebsites and emails.
You are a match made in heaven,am I?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
right, that's true.
She stood behind me when timeswere tough.
She's been with me through thegood and the bad, and I don't
know what we'd do without eachother.
Really.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
How long have you been?

Speaker 3 (10:34):
married 36, 35 years.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
What's the secret to a long lasting marriage?

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Well, I believe one of the things, of course, would
be Jesus and then going tochurch and all, and it's a lot
of guilt and a lot of take.
You have to do that and I thinkthat might be the one of the
secrets to marriage is to giveand take all the time.
It's not about one person, it'sabout both of you.

(11:05):
You have to look at it and youhave to lean on each other and,
like I said, you have to have tobe there for each other when
it's good, and you got to bethere for each other when it's
bad.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Yeah, exactly.
Would you tell them about thedear stand that you invented?

Speaker 3 (11:21):
I had another business back years ago and I
had started out looking for a Iguess a better mouse for a half.
I was looking for a betterstand that I could actually sit
on.
I mean, I was saying that wason the market.
They were very, veryuncomfortable and, you know,
sitting on a piece of metal foran hour or so was not an ideal

(11:44):
way to hunt.
So I started working on my seatand then I came up with a.
It was caught.
We named it the Bogac stand andit had a came by that security
to the tree.
And I know that I was at aplace in Arkansas showing to a

(12:06):
guy and of course they're alwaysskeptical, and so he had me
bind it to a light pole and he'sa big guy, he got on it.
You said, well, it's prettysturdy.
So I got on it and we startedputting people on it and we got
up to about a thousand andtwelve hundred pounds on it and
nothing moved on it.

(12:27):
So the binder wasn't likeanything that anybody had ever
seen.
And then I had a thing I didn'tget that went from the stand to
the to the ladder that washolding stand where you bind it
to the tree.
So we were chosen as the mostinventive idea at the AMO show
up in Louisville, kentucky thefirst time that everyone up

(12:49):
there.
So I was real proud of that andI feel her on that thing.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
And Mossy Oak was selling that, wasn't it?

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Yes, matter of fact, I had a call one time from Topsy
Hayes at home, mossy Oak, and Ireally didn't know Topsy and I
mean to hear him.
You know it was like man thepresident and I was real excited
about it and it was telling me,you know, I, and he immediately

(13:18):
started talking about that.
He said BoJack, I sit on thatstand for three and a half hours
.
I looked it over and he said Icome to compete, I was going to
call and take that Z best standI've ever sat in and I wouldn't
change one thing about it.
Whoever came up with this and Iknow it was you was a real Bo

(13:41):
Hunter.
I thought man that was some kindof great compliment to me.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
You know what God has given all of us certain talent,
skills and abilities.
And not only did you make agreat deer stand, but now you've
got BoJack's mixes.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
And it was one thing I did want to mention that when
you try to get in touch with uson Facebook, the BoJack's mixes.
I just wanted to interject.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
On Facebook.
Okay, bojack's mixes.
Yeah Well, bo, I know you'rebusy.
Before we go, I would love foryou to pray for our listeners.

Speaker 3 (14:14):
No, I don't mind at all.
Yeah, when Father, we come toyou and Lord, we just ask you
that if our listeners are aren'tChristians and they're not
going to church now, we justpray that you lay it on that
heart.
I know that it's changed mylife and since I've quit
drinking Lord and started goingto church and got saved, lord,

(14:36):
my life has just went in atotally different direction.
We've been blessed in so manyways, me and my wife, that I
could start to mention all of usthat we've been down, lord and
with our business and Lord.
We just sometimes we didn'tknow what to do, but you always
opened up a path, lord, andthat's what it'll do for anybody

(14:57):
that believes and really getsinto the to your word, lord, and
believes in you.
Lord, we know what you can dofor us.
Jesus name, our prayer, amen.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
And right after the break I'm going to unwrap that
conversation I had with BoJackson and you're going to hear
some things that you did nothear in that conversation.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
Some of us are building highways, not with our
hands, but with our hearts.
We're on a journey that doesn'thave an end.
It's a rough road, but we knowthat someday it will be worth
every rugged mile.
Why don't you join us?
We're the Christians.
Now, I know you've heard a lotof weird things about us most of
it not true.
We don't really care.
We just know that we're goingto live forever and we can have

(16:53):
an abundant life along the way.
Jesus is our guide on thisjourney called life, and he said
that he came to give us lifethat goes on forever and an
abundant life.
Hey, it's a toll free highway.
Jesus already paved the way.
All we have to do is come onboard.
You don't have to be religious, you don't have to be perfect.
You just have to accept thefact that Jesus already bridge
the way to heaven.
Then you have to put him behindthe wheel, but when you finally

(17:14):
let go and let Jesus take over,it's amazing how you find the
journey a lot more peaceful, because life without Jesus is
kind of like going four wheelingon a skateboard.
Take some time to learn aboutJesus.
You'll find out how he canbuild an eternal highway in your
heart.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Welcome back to Listeners.
I'm Lauren Dago.
Wow, what an awesome singer.
Nine years ago I had LaurenDago in concert with Big Daddy
Weave and that evening, when Iwas serving her dinner prior to
the concert, I said Lauren, youdo know you're going to go on
and be a big star, don't you?

(18:13):
And she looked at me and saiddo you really think so?
Well, the rest is history.
Bo's story was fun to listen to.
It reminded me as I'm remindedmany times when I hear
individual stories how God willtake an idea and let it just

(18:36):
grow.
You know, and that idea wasfirst planted from his mother's
hush puppies recipe.
Think about that.
Would Bo have went to thatfundraiser for the church if he
didn't have an award-winninghush puppy recipe from his
mother?
Probably not.

(18:56):
So his mother plants the seedof great food and Bo begins to
share his mother's recipe withthe world at a church fundraiser
and soon a business, a bigbusiness, is born.
Only God can do that.
As Bo said, he knew at thatrelay for life fundraiser he was

(19:22):
on to something.
Well, friends, god is on tosomething with you.
You're tuned in for a reason.
Do you know that you are onlyone thought away from a divine
breakthrough, one divine thought, from a new idea.
And where can that idea comefrom?
Only from God.
You're not gonna get that fromanywhere else, because God wants

(19:45):
the credit.
I remember when I got out of theAir Force I was in five years
at Keisler Air Force Base.
I got out really didn't knowwhat I was going to do.
I was managing a health cluband I asked the owner one day.
I said you know, bodybuildingis really becoming popular.

(20:05):
Why don't we do a bodybuildingcompetition?
And we could sell a lot ofmemberships.
Well, he didn't want to put themoney into it and I told him I
would.
I'll put up the money and thenI'll sell the memberships.
Well, I did.
I put together, mr and MissGulf Coast.
I remembered so clear thatnight.

(20:25):
I was on the stage, I was like24 years old and I looked at the
audience and I'm thinking tomyself this is incredible.
This was just an idea I talkedabout in a gym and now people
are leaving their house, gettingin their car, taking money out
of their wallet to buy a ticketto watch a competition.

(20:45):
That started with an idea Wow,I was onto something.
That's how Ron MyersProductions was born, and that
was over 40 years ago.
Hundreds of events throughoutthe Gulf South, impacting
millions of people that attendedthese events.
The power of an idea, the powerof an idea that you have.

(21:09):
I talked when I opened a showup about having a conversation
with Jesus.
Now, that would be a greatconversation with Jesus.
Hey, jesus, I know you havesomething for me.
I know you have an idea.
I know you have a dream Boy.
Lord, I would really like toknow what it is that you want me

(21:30):
to do for you in my life.
Friends, that's where it beginsA thought, an idea.
And you know why it will workwhen God deposits it into your
spirit, because you have apassion.
You know that.
You know that you're ontosomething.
Friends, we're in trouble inthis world right now because not

(21:53):
enough Christians have feltthat they're onto something.
We're waiting for people todirect us.
We're waiting for individuals orpoliticians to change policy so
we can have a better life.
But I will ask you this If youcould snap your finger today and

(22:15):
solve all the problems in thisworld and in the government,
would it take the hell out ofyour life?
No, the hell in your life canonly be taken out by Jesus.
And when you take the hell outof your life, the doubt, the
fear, the unbelief, you allowthen God to download ideas,

(22:38):
inspiration, encouragement intoyour spirit and soon you find
yourself smiling, you findyourself intrigued with
something that you've beenthinking about.
Now here's the key when you goand tell people about this idea
that you believe God is leadingyou to be prepared, not all the

(22:59):
people are gonna jump on thebandwagon and say go, go, go.
No, a lot of them are gonna sayare you sure?
You sure that wasn't the pizzayou ate last night?
And that little indigestion iscausing you to think some silly
things.
Friends, I've been there, I'vedone that, and I'm sure Beau
heard the same thing.

(23:20):
Often in life, when God ismaking a change in our life,
opposition will come fromfriends, family and associates,
but we have to be faithful tothe call that's in our life that
God has given us.
As Lauren Dago said in thatbumper music, you are strong.

(23:43):
You are more than a conqueror.
You are who God says you are.
You are a winner.

Ron will be back in a moment to wrap up today's
conversation.
Did you know what Ron didbefore he discovered his destiny
?
He was a promoter of secularentertainment and, by his own
admission, he promoted anythinghe could make a buck at.
At the pinnacle of his success,he walked away from it all so
he could follow Jesus anddiscover his God-given destiny.

(24:53):
That was over 20 years ago andhe has never looked back.
Today he's an inspirationalspeaker on a mission to empower
individuals just like you todiscover their God-given destiny
.
Ron put his story in a novelentitled the Promoter and he
wants to give you a copy.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
My story is proof positive that God's plan for you
and I is greater than all ofour mistakes.

Speaker 6 (25:20):
Here's what a few readers have said.
I could not put it down.
I cried, giggled, gasped andlaughed out loud.
Ron has written a novel andself-help book all in one the
best book I've read in a longtime.
This book is a message of hope.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
Well, friends, my time is up and I have enjoyed
that conversation today, notonly with Bo, but just sharing
some life ideas with you.
Friends, it doesn't matterwhat's going on around us.
If we don't tend to ourbusiness, our spirit, our
relaxation, our assignment inlife, we will miss out on so

(26:13):
much that God has for us.
God is for us and not againstus.
God has a plan that nobody cancome against.
So I want you to remember thatthis week, as you're going out
and doing life with Jesus, havelots of conversations with Jesus
and, most of all, remember thisyou are only one idea away from

(26:37):
a breakthrough in life.
You're only one idea away fromyou saying I think I'm on to
something.
Friends, I love you, jesusloves you, and when you give
Jesus your heart, he not onlytakes the hell out of your life,
he will put you on to something.
