What if the loudest voice in your head isn’t the truest one? We open with a hard look at leadership and loyalty, then move into a deeply personal story that redefines success, courage, and faith. Bonnie shares how early loss, caregiving, and four miscarriages shaped her life, and how a breaking-point prayer led to a lasting peace she didn’t think was possible. She explains how lies of worthlessness were exposed as spiritual attacks, how she learned to take thoughts captive, and why that daily choice changed her mind, her body, and her future.

We walk through a chain of grace-filled moments: a family prayer for Disney on Ice tickets answered at just the right time, a lyric about cancer disappearing that coincided with a powerful inner assurance, and a follow-up oncology visit with no cancerous cells detected. Alongside the miracles, we talk about the steady disciplines that hold when circumstances shake—prayer, Scripture, and the science-backed practice of rewiring thought patterns. The foster story running through it all is striking: after four miscarriages, four foster children enter their home, and their growing faith becomes a living picture of redemption and purpose.

We also break down fear versus peace from a gospel lens. Perfect love casts out fear because, in Christ, punishment is off the table. That truth makes room for a sound mind, bold choices, and a future anchored in grace. Whether you’re battling anxiety, feeling stuck, or trying to lead with integrity, this conversation offers practical steps and honest hope: speak life, take thoughts captive, and choose the peace Jesus has already offered. If you’re ready to trade dread for purpose, your next step might be as close as a prayer.

Speaker (00:01):
It's time now to get the hell out of your life.
A weekly broadcast with realpeople, sharing real struggles,
and offering real hope.
Today's show will encourage, inspire, and empower you to face
life's challenges with a boldconfidence and renewed hope.
Now let's join our host, RonMyers, the promoter.

Ron Meyers (00:23):
Hello, my friends.
It is so good to be with you.
My name is Ron Myers.
I'm the host of this show.
It's all about bragging aboutJesus, helping you to discover
success in life with the powerof faith, with walking with
Jesus.
God has an incredible plan forall of us.
You know, I thought about thatplan the other day with God for

(00:44):
Lane Kiffen.
Lane Kiffin, I know you knowwho he is.
Now I kind of call him LaneQuitten.
He quit on his team.
He had a team that is going tothe playoffs and possibly could
be number one in the UnitedStates in college football, but
he quit.
How many times has thathappened to you in your life?

(01:04):
I know it's happened in mylife.
Years ago when I was in the AirForce.
My wife liked the next doorneighbor more than me and the
two children.
So she left me and twochildren.
There's always a shiny, brightobject out there trying to get
our attention.
You know, friends, there isnothing wrong with changing

(01:25):
jobs.
But if LSU, these are mythoughts, really wanted Lane
Kiffin.
Well, if I'm Lane Kiffin, Iwould say something to the
effect.
Well, listen, I will talk toyou at the end of my season.
But right now I am focused onbecoming number one champion
with my team.
And I'm going to follow themall the way through the

(01:48):
playoffs.
And then if you're interestedin me, I will have a
conversation.
You know, an honestconversation like that, instead
of sneaking behind closed doors, not answering things at press
conferences, and then justwalking out one day, quitting on
the team, flying to Baton Rougewith some of his assistant
coaches, which I heard he toldthem either get on the plane or

(02:11):
you're not coming at all.
You know, this type ofleadership style is really
what's really, in my opinion, screwed up so many people in the
workforce because everybody isthinking about themselves.
You know, a lot of us, we'vebeen burnt.
We've been burnt in life bysomeone that loves us one day
and the next day, well, theycast us aside like a piece of

(02:34):
trash.
Well, the good news is thisJesus will never do that with
you.
He is your coach, he is yourleader, he has destined you for
success.
And this show is all abouthelping you walk in the power of
what God has for you.
Living the life of freedom, noguilt, no shame, no

(02:55):
condemnation.
The life of the finished worksof Jesus.
And my story today, wow, what astory.
God is so awesome, my friends.
I was talking to a lady theother day.
Her family won tickets toDisney on ice.
They have four foster children.
And we were talking and shestarted sharing some of her

(03:16):
backstory.
And I said, Will you pleasehold a minute?
And I went, turned on myequipment in my studio, brought
the Bluetooth up through therecorder, and I said, Now, will
you share your story with theworld?
You know, one thing I loveabout doing things in life, I do
whatever I want to do in thesense of telling people about

(03:38):
Jesus.
I don't care how they react.
I'm not into confrontation, I'minto good news, I'm into
success.
I want to share stories fromother individuals that were in
the trenches of life.
It looked like all was fallingapart.
They had no hope.
Everything was doom and gloom.
But then Jesus stepped on thescene.

(04:01):
I love it.
And I share those stories withyou because, friends, as long as
I'm breathing, I will nevergive up on you.
I want to help lead you intothe promised land of success, of
destiny, of purpose, ofunderstanding that no matter
what happens in life, God iswith you, God is for you.

(04:22):
So let's listen to Bonnie'sstory, and then when we're
finished, I'll come back andwrap up the show and give you a
pep talk for next week.

Bonnie (04:32):
Yeah, I'd be more than happy to do that.
I'm sorry, I just crying, butit's joy because I just so
blessed to have a story that theLord has given me to share.
I grew up with just me and mydad.
My mom had left when I was two,and then my grandmother kind of

(04:53):
helped raise me on the weekendsand everything.
And it was always just mostlyme and my dad.
And he would we were so close.
And when I was 15, he gotdiagnosed with uh stage four
cancer, and I had to take careof him and go to high school at
the same time.
And when I say take care ofhim, I mean I was doing like
everything, you know.

(05:14):
At one point he was halfparalyzed on half of his body.
So I was like feeding him andbathing him, and it was a lot.
And then he passed halfwaythrough my senior year.
He passed, and I had to watchhim pass.
And I went through a lotmentally as a kid.
I struggled a lot withdepression and anxiety and

(05:35):
suicidal ideation, and it wasvery rough.
Like I was just not in a goodmental space.
And then when he passed, I wentto a rough situation with some
people that I wasn't reallyclose to.
And then God also used that.
I moved across country, andeven though I didn't know it at

(05:57):
the time, God was still sogracious in using that because
if I would have not moved and mydad would have not passed, I
would have never met my husbandacross state.
And I was still not in a goodmental space.
And then a lot happened with mygrandmother, and we wound up
getting married after Igraduated.

(06:17):
And I graduated valedictorian.
I was getting my work sent homewith me, and I was in like AP
classes and everything.
So I graduated up there, top ofmy class.
I graduated with like a 4.16GPA, and it was, I don't know
how I did it.
It was really just by the graceof God, because looking back,
I'm like, I there was no way Idid that at all.

(06:39):
And I know he would have beenso proud and he would have loved
to see me graduate.
But when we got married, wemoved down to take care of my
grandmother.
And so I went from caring forone parent to caring for another
one because she was basicallymy mother.
And we cared for her for thefirst five years of our
marriage.
And we were, you know, notmature yet in the faith.

(07:02):
Obviously, you know, I hadbiblical foundation.
I'd been saved and everythingbefore, but I just didn't have
that true knowledge of the word.
And so when my grandmotherpassed five years after taking
care of her, I was the one thatfound her that morning.
I woke up and so I had to seeher pass as well.

(07:23):
And I was in my early 20s, like23, 22, something like that.
And just losing so much.
And also, we in between thattime, our first five years of
marriage, I had four uh fourmiscarriages.
We lost children.
Uh, it was all really early, but it was still a loss.

(07:43):
And it was just like so muchwas going on, but God used that
experience with my grandmotherwith losing her to finally wake
me up because I had the means toend my life after her funeral,
like after everything was takencare of, I just kind of broke
down.
And I had the means to end mylife.

(08:06):
And I remember crying out toGod and just going, like, God,
give me clarity, like, please, Ican't do this anymore.
Like, if you don't do somethingright now, it's I can't, I
can't keep going.
And I was definitely at the endof myself.
And, you know, there's thatsaying, like, good, you've
reached the end of yourself.
Now I can start my work.
And he just revealed everythingto me and he cured me of my

(08:31):
depression and anxiety.
I never knew that there was alife with just pure joy and
peace that just surpasses allunderstanding.
And when he healed me, herevealed to me that all those
voices in my head that I hadbeen struggling with my whole
life, telling me things like I'mworthless and I should just end
it because nobody's gonna care.

(08:53):
And all of those thoughts in myhead, he revealed to me that
those were not just my innermonologue, those were not just
my thoughts, those were demonicattacks dressed up as my
thoughts.
And that's why it says in theword, you know, take each
thought captive and make itsubject to Christ, is because,
and it it also talks about howwe wrestle not with flesh and

(09:13):
blood, but powers andprincipalities.
That's what we're wrestlingwith, is our thoughts and the
demonic attacks.
And the enemy gets in our mindand uses that.
And so when I started rebukingin the name of Jesus, all
depression and anxiety, I washealed.
Like he just healed me, herevealed it to me, gave me
wisdom and clarity, and he justhealed me.
And it's a daily thing, yougotta wake up each day.

(09:35):
The power of life and death isin the tongue and also in your
mind, too, the thoughts that youthink.
And when you start takingthoughts captive, I know it's
hard and it's a hard muscle totrain, but it literally and
science backs this up as well.
It's neuroscience, it's provenfor so for those of you that
aren't believers, look into itbecause this is scientifically

(09:57):
proven.
When you start doing that andrewiring your brain and changing
it, it changes your brainchemistry, it creates new neural
pathways.
And science is really justbacking up what the Bible has
already proven.
The Bible already saidthousands and thousands of years
ago, you know, before we hadthis technology, to take these

(10:17):
thoughts captive.
And it's because it's thetruth.
Jesus says He is the truth, andHe is, and you've got to do
that, and you've got to just yougotta pray.
If it wasn't for God, I wouldnot be here today.
And I'm so blessed.

Ron Meyers (10:31):
And wow, wow, wow, wow, what a story! And I just
met you with a leaf filter atthe Christmas City gift show,
knowing nothing of yourbackground, but I knew something
that weekend.
You had put your name in for adrawing for Disney on ice

(10:52):
tickets, didn't you?

Bonnie (10:54):
Yes, I did.

Ron Meyers (10:56):
And I remember taking I pulled a little child
out of the audience somewhereand say, Hey, well, we're gonna
pick out the winner of thesetickets.
And I called your name, and Iremember you coming down.
I still remember seeing thatbeautiful face with tears and
saying, Thank you.

(11:16):
This is an answer to prayer.
What tell the listeners aboutyour prayer about winning those
tickets?

Bonnie (11:23):
We uh we had gotten these children and foster
children, foster children,right?

Ron Meyers (11:29):
You had four.

Bonnie (11:30):
Yeah, yes.
And we had just been praying, you know, about Lord, if it's
your will, you know, the kidsreally want to go to Disney.
And I'm like, I know it's alot, and we don't really have
the money, and just whateveryour will is, it it make a way.
And then these kids didn'treally grow up a lot in the
faith, too.
And so the middle child, hereally prayed too.

(11:53):
I watched him pray one nightabout Disney, and I was like,
man, this is that's so awesomethat he's praying, you know.
And you know, a couple weekslater we go to the show.
It's it's toward the end of theshow, too.
I'm not expecting this at all.
This is like what the lastcouple hours of the show, maybe
the last 30 minutes, somethinglike that.
It's all it's closing downsoon.
And so we're walking aroundwith my brother-in-law, and he's

(12:16):
he's not of the faith either.
And so when they called myname, I hit the floor.
Like I just started praisingJesus in the middle of the
aisle.
People were looking at me likeI was crazy, and I was just like
just praising God, and I wascrying, and then they got me up
and they were like, Look, yougotta go up there and get the
tickets, and I'm like, Yeah, andI took the kids and I'm like,
Come on, and then we went upthere and I remember meeting

(12:38):
with you, and the kids were justso happy.
I was still crying.
I was trying to like hold ittogether, but I was like just so
overjoyed.
And I just remember the Lordspeaking to me in that moment
and being like, you know, whatI've done here is not for you,
it's for my glory to be seenthrough it.
And I could tell that mybrother-in-law, he was like

(13:00):
wrestling with coming up with ananswer for like what had just
happened because we shared aboutpraying for it.
And, you know, he was trying torack his brain, I could tell,
but I I feel like that momentreally impacted him and that the
Lord was using that moment.
And you didn't know this, but II just haven't really shared

(13:20):
with people about this because Ididn't want to claim it.
And that's another part of likepower of life and death in the
tongue and and the thoughts inyour mind.
But I had gotten a call monthsback from my doctor, you know,
saying that they had found an Mspike in my blood work, which is
like cancerous cells.

(13:41):
And I know the old me wouldhave been freaking out, I was
super anxious, I would have, Iwould have fallen apart.
But when they told me that, Ijust had this piece about it,
and I just didn't really worryabout it.
And then that day after we gotthe tickets, we were driving
home and I was playing the songToo Good to Not Believe by

(14:02):
Brandon Lake.
And there's a part in the songwhere it says, I've seen cancer
disappear.
And that instant, when I tellyou, I felt the Lord, and I just
started crying in the car, likepraising him.
And I knew I was healed in thatmoment.
Like nobody had to tell me.
I knew I was healed.
And I got home that afternoonand I told my husband, because

(14:22):
he had to work, but I told himwhen I saw him again, I was
like, you know, I I'm healed,like I feel it.
This is what happened, and Iknow the Lord has healed me.
And he says, I know too.
I don't know how he knew too,but he just like, he's like, I
know too.
And then three days later, Ihad a visit at the oncology
office, and they pull out myblood work, and they're like,

(14:44):
There's no cancer cells anymore.
And I was just like, I justknew it was so I was like, Oh my
gosh, like, thank you, Jesus.
Like, I there's so much, andand right now, my father-in-law,
even through this, myfather-in-law, he just passed
yesterday, and God is still sogood.

(15:05):
And back then, I would havebeen falling apart right now,
just through all of this.
And I just praise God becauseeven through this, we are
praising the Lord because weknow that his plan is better
than our plan, and his ways arebetter than our ways, and
there's a purpose in everything, every loss, everything we
perceive is loss.

(15:25):
He is working for the good.

Ron Meyers (15:28):
Amen.
And wow, wow, you got me firedup there, Bonnie.
You know, I will never forgetthe face on those beautiful,
precious children when they cameup to get the tickets.
They're young.
What are their ages?

Speaker 7 (15:42):
Um, the oldest is eight, the middle is seven, and
the youngest are five.

Ron Meyers (15:47):
And that's four of them.
And these are foster children,right?

Speaker 7 (15:50):
Yes.

Ron Meyers (15:50):
You know, I thought it was amazing because I put the
two and two together.
You had four miscarriages, butyet, and now you have four
foster children.
Wow.
Sounds like God was telling yousomething there, telling me
something anyway.

Speaker 7 (16:05):
Yeah, and you know, I I can't really talk too much
about the case because ofconfidentiality, but you know, I
don't know for certain how longthey're gonna be with us.
But uh, what I do know is thatjust based on on their reaction
the other day when everythinghappened with my father-in-law,
I know that we've made an impactin their lives.

(16:27):
And I have seen their faithgrow.
And that is just more than Icould ever dream or hope for.
And I'm just so thankful thatthe Lord trusted us with this
important task, even though Ididn't think that I could do it.
It was a lot, it was a lot ofchallenges.

Ron Meyers (16:48):
Does it look like you'll get to um possibly adopt
them?

Speaker 7 (16:52):
Uh I don't think so.
But if it's his will, it'llhappen.

Ron Meyers (16:57):
So right now it's just you're the foster parents
and you're taking care of themas long as the Lord has you in
their life.

Speaker 7 (17:04):
Yes, sir.
And uh goodness, I don't knowwhat's gonna happen, but I do
know that whatever is going tohappen, the Lord is going to
protect these children.
And it doesn't matter if theyleave my care or not, I know
they are going to always findtheir way back to the Lord.
I have prayed over them somuch.

Ron Meyers (17:23):
It's amazing.
And I am personally going tohelp them or help you, and I
want to do this, and you can'ttalk me out of it.
Help them with some Christmasgifts this year.
You have just been a brightlight to a dark world, Bonnie.
And to hear this story is justreassuring at this time of
Christmas that I don't care whatanyone is going through, Jesus

(17:46):
is enough.
Jesus is enough.
Isn't Jesus enough, Bonnie?

Speaker 7 (17:51):
Yes, he's more than enough.
And I don't think we realizehow fortunate we are just to
have the ability to be literateand be capable of reading the
Bible and being in the countrythat we're in, and you know,
having the freedom to worshiphim and seek him out.
Like we just don't realize allthe blessings that are laid upon

(18:12):
us, even when everything seemsdark.
We are so blessed beyondmeasure.

Ron Meyers (18:16):
Amen.
Amen.
And Bonnie, as I I close outour visit, will you pray for
anything you want to pray for?
Pray for the listeners, yourchildren.
Just pray however the Lord'sleads your heart.

Speaker 7 (18:28):
Yes, yes, Father God, please just speak through me,
Lord.
And I just ask that you, asyour humble servant, that you
just pour out your spirit oneveryone listening, on everyone
not listening, on their family.
Dear Lord, I just ask that youjust fill our cups so that they
may be overflowed with you, sothat we may pour out onto

(18:50):
others, so that we may do whatyou've asked us to do and make
disciples of all nations, Lord.
And I just ask, Father God, ifthere is anyone that does not
know you, that they come to knowyou, dear Jesus.
Just please, I just prayrevival.
We know we've been feeling thatthe time is getting near, dear
Lord.
And I just know that you arebringing your children to you.
So I just ask that it be donein Jesus' name.

(19:12):
And I just ask that anyone thatis mourning, that they be
comforted for you are great andwonderful comforter, dear Lord,
for anyone that is struggling, that they know that you are
always providing, Lord, evenwhen the world says otherwise
and their circumstances aroundthem seem dire, dear Lord.
Help them to take their eyesoff the storm and to focus on

(19:33):
you so that they may step outonto the water in faith, dear
Lord.
And I just ask that you providefor them.
We know that we are so lovedand treasured more than rubies,
Lord.
You provide for the birds ofthe air and how much more
precious are we.
We know that you will providefor us and work everything to
your good, Lord.
And so I just ask that that bedone and that people be

(19:56):
comforted and strengthen them toput on the full armor.
And to take every thoughtcaptive.
Cut any branch from all of usthat needs to be cut and pruned,
dear Lord, and grow your fruitsof the Spirit.
Increase your spirit within us,Lord.
We just hunger and thirst foryou.
Father, in the name of JesusChrist, Yeshua, I just pray that

(20:17):
your will be done.
Amen.

Speaker (20:23):
You're listening to Get the Hell Out of Your Life with
your host, Ron Myers.
Real stories, real struggles, and real hope.

Ron Meyers (20:35):
Can fear and peace coexist within you at the same
time?
Well, let's explore that todayon destined for success.
Fear and peace arediametrically opposed, and
understanding their relationshipis key to living in the freedom
that Christ offers.
In the new covenant, God callsus to experience his peace,

(20:58):
which surpasses allunderstanding.
This peace is rooted in thetruth that we are fully
forgiven, completely loved, andeternally secure in Christ.
Fear often arises fromforgetting or misunderstanding
these truths.
1 John 4.18 reminds us thatperfect love casts out fear.

(21:20):
Because fear involvespunishment.
And as believers, we know thatJesus has taken all punishment
for our sins.
So we don't need to fear God'sanger or judgment.
While life circumstances canmake us feel anxious, we are
encouraged to bring our worriesto God in prayer, trusting Him

(21:41):
to provide peace and comfort.
The Holy Spirit within usresures us of our secure
position in Christ, helping usrest in his love and grace.
So, friend, if you're feeling amixture of fear and peace, it
might be a sign to refocus onthe truth of God's love and the

(22:02):
finished work of Jesus.
Remember, his peace is alwaysavailable to you, and his spirit
is there to guide you throughany anxiety you might face.

Speaker 3 (22:17):

Speaker 6 (22:32):
It's not how your living will change it.
Get the hell out of your life.

unknown (22:53):
Get the hell out of your life.

Ron Meyers (22:57):
Welcome back, listeners.
A few weeks ago, I recorded aprogram created for success.
The power of faith.
That's right.
God has created you forsuccess, and I go into detail
about the power of faith.
I have people that havelistened to that and told me,
Ron, that was the most amazingthing I ever heard.
And friends, it really isbecause it shares my experience

(23:22):
with Jesus and the power offaith and how it opened doors,
how it gave me ideas.
See, God created eachindividual on this planet for
success.
Now, success is different toeverybody, but success is a
personal thing.
And sometimes, friends, I don'tthink the church is telling you
all you need to know about thefreedom you have in Christ,

(23:43):
about your purpose, about yourdestiny, about how he is your
best bud, and he is going tohelp you discover your destiny.
Because one thing that Godknows, one thing that Jesus
knows, the more you are walkingin the freedom of Christ and the
power in your passion, youdon't have a desire to sin.

(24:04):
You don't have a desire to goon to the dark side because
you're having so much fun in thelight, you never want to go
back to that dark side becauseit brings those heebie jeebies
when you think about them andsay, No way, I've been there,
done that, have the t-shirt, I'mstaying in the life, I'm doing
what.
Coach Ron, that's right, CoachRon for 2026 is telling you to

(24:28):
hold on to Jesus as if your lifedepends on it, because it does.
He's your oxygen, he will notquit on you, he will not kick
you out of his relationship withyou.
You are safe for eternity.
You are totally forgiven if youare a believer in Jesus, and it
only takes Jesus.

(24:49):
I believe in you.
Whatever conversation you wantto have to invite Jesus into
your life.
Why not do that today?

Speaker 4 (24:59):
Fear has a way of paralyzing us, doesn't it?
Fear of failure, fear ofrejection, fear of the unknown.
These anxieties can keep usfrom living the life God
intended for us.
But the Bible has good newsabout fear.
2 Timothy 1.7 tells us, for Godhas not given us a spirit of
fear, but of power, love, andsound mind.
Fear is not from God.

(25:19):
When you belong to Jesus, youhave access to his forgiveness,
his power, his love, and hispeace.
This doesn't mean you'll neverfeel afraid, but it means fear
doesn't have to control yourdecisions.
You can face uncertainty withconfidence because you know God
is with you.
You can take risks because youtrust in his faithfulness.
Are you tired of fear holdingyou back?
Ready to experience the freedomthat comes from trusting Jesus

(25:41):
completely?

Speaker 2 (25:57):
How do you get the hell out of your life?
Get on your knees and cry outto the Lord.
He hears you right where youare.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
How to get the hell out of your life?
Well, yeah, replace it withJesus.
We gotta be born again, born ofthe Spirit, and that's by
trusting Jesus Christ, turningfrom our sins and trusting
Jesus.
How do you get the hell out ofyour life?
Oh gosh.

Ron Meyers (26:14):
Jesus.
Jesus.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Speaker 1 (26:16):
