Ron Meyers (00:23):
Hello, my friends.
It's great to be with you.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm Ron Myers.
I'm your host, and the show iscalled Get the Hell Out of Your
Life.
It's a platform where I share myexperiences with Jesus and
discuss the amazing things hehas done in my life and the
(00:45):
lives of my guests.
We love to brag on Jesus.
And if you don't know Jesus theway we do, it may be because you
haven't been told about hisextravagant grace and God's
awesome plan for your life, which is truly incredible.
Well, today I have a specialThanksgiving program for you
(01:10):
titled The Power of Faith.
Years ago, I produced a bookletcalled The Power of Faith, and I
distributed these booklets inplaces like post office
counters, Walmart bathrooms, carbors, anywhere I could set a
booklet.
My goal was to provide hope, encouragement, and inspiration
(01:32):
for people.
And today I am so thankful onthis Thanksgiving weekend
because of God's amazing grace.
Frankly, without his amazinggrace, we would all be toast.
I took my faith, my grace, and Iallowed Jesus to grow it, and
(01:53):
together we are promoting thepower of faith.
I want to share the contents ofthe power of faith booklet with
you.
You will be blessed by it.
So let's dive in to the power offaith, and I'll return to close
out the show.
I am often asked, Ron, what isyour secret to success?
(02:17):
My reply is simple it's nosecret, it's God's design for
each of us, achieved by God'samazing grace and the power of
faith.
I would like to share how thepower of faith has impacted my
life and how you too can havesuccess through God.
(02:38):
Did you know you were destinedfor success before you were even
in your mother's womb?
That's right, friend.
Before birth, the number of yourdays was all written by God.
Jeremiah chapter 1, verse 5says, I knew you before I formed
you in your mother's womb.
Before you were born, I set youapart and appointed you as my
(03:01):
prophet to the nations.
Friends, God created you with aplan.
You are created in the image ofGod with particular talents,
skills, and abilities that onlyyou have, which means you are an
original, not a copy.
God wants to empower you todayto use those talents, skills,
(03:23):
and abilities to change thetrajectory of your life.
Today, this show is for theperson who feels like something
is missing in their life, forthe person who wants to laugh
again, sing again, love again, believe again for the person
looking for hope, for the personready to discover the next
(03:46):
chapter of life.
I believe in you, friend, and Iwant to encourage you that no
matter where you are in life,God is at work in your life.
God has not left you, God is foryou.
And today I will share somethings that you can incorporate
into your life that will empoweryou on your journey.
(04:09):
Fail forward.
When you experience failure, setbacks, and disappointments,
it isn't because God punishes orignores you.
Instead, setbacks anddisappointments enable us to
learn and become dependent onthe true teacher of success,
Jesus Christ.
I have discovered that with ateachable spirit, those
(04:32):
obstacles, difficulties,setbacks, and disappointments
become the stepping stones tosuccess.
The things that hindered meoften now propel me to more
significant opportunities.
In other words, I fail forward, experiencing success because of
(04:52):
learning from all my pastmistakes.
You are not a puppet.
Does anyone believe we arepuppets and that God moves our
strings?
You and I have the freedom ofchoice and we can choose to
listen to God for instruction,or we can choose to listen to
other voices in this world.
(05:13):
The freedom to choose which pathyou will take in life is
strictly your choice.
Be aware though that yourcurrent life is created from the
choices you made yesterday, justas the choices you make today
and tomorrow will ultimatelybuild your future.
I have discovered that when Imake better choices, when I take
(05:37):
time to relax with Jesus, timeto pray, read God's word, seek
direction for my teacher, mymentor, my best friend, my
encourager, Jesus, things beginto fall into place.
God's unconditional love.
You are destined for successwhen you accept and internalize
(06:01):
God's free gift of unconditionallove.
God loves you unconditionallyand nothing you can do will
change that.
God desires an intimaterelationship with you based on
his unconditional and infinitelove.
However, how can we, as flawedhuman beings, hope to have an
(06:24):
intimate relationship with thecreator of the universe?
Well, God made a way by sendinghis son Jesus to die on the
cross and bear the punishmentthat you and I deserve.
Remember the thief on the crossnext to Jesus?
He said, Jesus, remember me.
And Jesus said, Today you willbe with me in paradise.
(06:47):
That is the message of grace, afree gift.
You cannot earn God's grace, forit is his unmerited favor and a
gift that costs the givereverything, and it cost us
nothing.
It is accessible to you and meif we would just open our heart
(07:08):
and ask Jesus to come in.
Too many people think they mustchange their behavior or
lifestyle before God will lovethem.
But that isn't true.
God loves you right now,unconditionally.
God is the source of all love, agift we share with others.
I've discovered that the more Iremind myself of God's love, the
(07:32):
more my love for Him and othersgrows.
You are destined for successwhen you accept God's
unconditional love.
Jeremiah chapter 31 verse 3says, I have loved you with an
everlasting love.
If you don't become you, whowill?
(07:54):
You are destined for successwhen you begin to accept who you
are.
You are God's masterpiece.
A masterpiece is a one of akind.
I mean, think about it.
You've got one fingerprint, noone else in the world has that.
Soak that in for a while.
You are a masterpiece created byGod for God.
(08:18):
So many of us compare ourselvesto others and want to be like or
imitate them.
But friends, if you do notbecome you, who will?
No one and you will rob theworld of God's precious, unique
gift.
You.
We are all born with specificpersonalities, talents, skills,
(08:41):
and abilities.
And your purpose in life isdirectly linked to your
character, talents, skills, andabilities.
I discovered that my life tookon meaning when I was true to
myself and accepted whom Godcreated me to be.
I wanted to become Ron, no oneelse.
(09:02):
My goal was no longer to be apeople pleaser, but my focus was
now on living life with Jesus.
I took seriously the fact thatGod had an assignment, a purpose
for me to do.
And by God's grace, I haveenjoyed great success and joy
through God.
As a result, I wake up each dayeager to pursue my purpose and
(09:27):
discover new opportunities.
Sometimes God places us in aseason that we don't
particularly care for, but thatis part of the journey.
And I believe that's where youwill grow the most because each
step of your journey shapes andmolds you.
Your attitude should be, Lord, Imay not like this, I may not
(09:48):
understand this, but I choose totrust you and not lean on my
understanding.
You see, friends, an attitude ofgratitude is the very thing that
allows us to experience successthrough God.
Some of the jobs I have had inlife, I didn't really want them,
(10:09):
but I embraced each of them as alearning experience.
It is often these unpleasantexperiences that God will use to
shape and mold us into theperson he created us to become.
(11:09):
Seek wisdom.
You are destined for successwhen you begin to seek wisdom.
I remember when starting inbusiness, I thought I knew
everything and nobody was goingto tell me what to do.
Well, that attitude led me tofailures and setbacks.
See, when we think we knoweverything, we shut off the
(11:30):
voices of wise counsel and ofGod.
After three years in business, Istruggled financially and told
myself, I can't do this anymore.
I'm going to quit.
But just when we are ready toquit, God loves to step in.
I felt something, that quietlittle voice telling me not to
(11:52):
stop, but rather seek wisdom.
You know, in the Bible, the Lordappeared to Solomon in a dream
one night, and God askedSolomon, What shall I give you?
And Solomon asked for wisdom, and God was pleased.
So where do you get wisdom?
Wisdom can only come from God.
I found the book of Proverbsfull of wisdom, which gave me an
(12:15):
awesome insight about livinglife, and success was within
reach.
Wisdom produces success, thekind of success that grows
exponentially.
There is no reason you shouldnot excel in your field of
assignment when you seek wisdom.
Now, unlike knowledge, wisdomcannot be gained apart from God.
(12:38):
Many of us are stubborn and weask everyone in the world but
God.
Only a humble heart can ask Godfor wisdom.
When you get into the habit ofasking God for wisdom, your
thinking begins to change.
The book of Proverbs is my go-toreading.
After all, they have 31chapters, a chapter for every
(13:00):
day of the week.
You are destined for success byhumbling yourself and asking for
and receiving wisdom from God.
Proverbs 4 verse 6 says, Do notforsake wisdom, and she will
protect you.
Love her and she will watch overyou.
(13:20):
Guard your mind.
You are destined for successwhen you begin to guard what
goes into your mind.
I had a radio show for eightyears for two hours each day.
I woke up each day going throughthe news to find negative
stories.
I sought topics for my radioshow to create conversation
(13:42):
based on negative news storieswith my audience.
Unfortunately, the radiopersonality was so busy building
an audience that I often missedGod's grace in my show.
Well, after 10 years of doingthis, the radio station closed
and that practice stopped.
But what happened is that I soonrealized my mood had changed.
(14:03):
I was happy.
Instead of focusing on negativenews, I was focusing on the
positive things of God for mylife.
And soon I found myself removingall areas of negative input into
my life and replacing it withsharing God's love, mercy, and
his unending grace.
(14:24):
The transformation in my lifewas astounding.
Today many people walk aroundangry and complaining about
things they cannot control.
But did you know that one fit ofanger can diminish the immune
system for six hours?
But laughter will strengthen theimmune system for 24 hours.
Proverbs 1722 tells us a joyfulheart is good medicine, but a
(14:49):
crushed spirit dries up thebones.
I discovered my mood changeddramatically when I committed to
watching and reading the thingsthat are pleasant to the heart.
You don't have to ignore thenews, my friend, but watch in
moderation and know when to turnit off.
We can still change our world, but it starts with changing
(15:12):
ourselves.
If the friends you are hangingaround are pessimistic and
gossipy, well, maybe it's timeto get some new friends.
You are destined for success byguarding what goes into your
mind.
Take care of yourself.
You are destined for successwhen you begin to eat correctly
and exercise.
Have you heard the expressionsound body and sound mind?
(15:35):
It is so true.
Can you have success withoutexercising and eating correctly?
Absolutely.
But here's something to thinkabout.
Let's say you have a car thatneeds a tune-up.
A spark plug is misfiring, theair filter is dirty, and the oil
needs to be changed.
Your vehicle will still get frompoint A to point B, but the
engine will not operate at itsfull potential.
(15:58):
As a result, you most likelywill experience a rough ride.
Take the car in for a tune-upand a little TLC, and what a
difference in the ride.
We are the same way.
When we take time to exercise, eat healthy, there will be a
difference in our performance.
The ride into our life will bemuch smoother and more relaxing.
(16:20):
Even my prayer life is better, and my mind is sharper, and my
conversations with Jesus are outof this world.
I've been going to a gym forover 45 years.
It has become a lifestyle.
When I miss it, I can feel it.
It just makes me want toexercise even more.
The common excuse is, well, Ijust don't have time, Ron.
(16:42):
I say, well, you have to maketime.
Without your health, what goodis anything else?
As I get older, I take the timeto exercise and it pays
dividends in my positiveattitude and energy level.
God has given us this incrediblebody and mind.
His resurrection power lives onthe inside of us.
We must pray for the strength, the discipline, and the
willpower to be more consciousof our health.
(17:04):
You are destined for successwhen you have the discipline to
exercise and eat properly.
Hold no grudges.
You are destined for successwhen you give the gift of
forgiveness.
You know, God has forgiven everygoofy thing we've done in our
life.
So why not forgive those whowronged us?
(17:27):
It doesn't mean we give them afree pass.
It means we will not allow theactions of others to hold us
back any longer.
This was one of the mostchallenging things for me to do.
I wanted to carry the baggage ofanger and bitterness because I
wanted to get even with thepeople that messed me over.
(17:49):
But God had something different.
Please hear me when I let go ofmy bitterness and unforgiveness.
It was as if I turned on thefaucet of God's unending grace,
his love and his mercy began toflow through me.
And today I pray for those whowronged me.
(18:12):
Actually, I feel sorry for them.
My desire to succeed through Godis more desirable than holding
on to things that will onlystunt our growth with God.
You are destined for successwhen you give the gift of
forgiveness.
Walk by faith.
You are destined for successwhen you embrace change and
(18:33):
allow God to be your compass.
Walk by faith and not yoursight.
When the radio station closedand I lost my job, I had no idea
what to do.
I was scared and concerned formy family.
Then the questions came.
How can I trust God when I justlost something I dearly loved?
(18:57):
I had people tell me, Ron, Godhas something bigger for you,
and when one door closes, another opens.
But I didn't want another doorto open.
I loved what I was doing.
Well, a few months later, I raninto a friend working out at the
gym.
I hadn't seen him in years.
But he had a book in his gym bagthat he gave me.
A God thing again.
(19:18):
The first thing I read jumpedoff the page.
The end of something in our lifeis not the completion of our
destiny.
God is in the business ofstrategically putting us in the
right place at the right time.
But the right place often seemslike the wrong place at the
(19:38):
wrong time.
Wow, I heard God.
He was moving me into anotherpart of my destiny.
It was a gut check.
It forced me to step out infaith and trust God.
Whatever he had in store, I wasready to embrace it.
So that day I embraced change.
(20:00):
And today I have so much funpromoting God's grace, whether
I'm speaking, podcasting, orproducing events.
I need to emphasize that whenchange comes, and it will, trust
God with all your heart.
I know a lot of people will tellyou kind all kinds of things,
but you have to trust Jesus withall your heart and don't lean on
(20:24):
your own understanding.
God will never, never lead youto failure.
We all experience changes thatcan turn our life upside down.
When that happens, remember thatGod wrote your story and is
revealing a new chapter.
Be glad that you are still aliveto determine your future with
(20:48):
the help of Jesus leading you.
That is what will keep youhumble and dependent on God.
You are destined for successwhen you embrace change and
allow Jesus to be your compass.
Walk by faith and not by sight.
Pray for success.
You are destined for successwhen you pray for success in
(21:10):
every part of your life.
Failure comes from Adam's fallfrom grace.
Today businesses are failing, churches are closing, marriages
are coming apart, and childrenare turning against their
parents.
We need to acknowledge thesituation, turn everything over
to God and pray for success likenever before.
(21:34):
Success is God's exclamationpoint on his honor and glory.
If what we do is based on theright motives, not selfish greed
or ambition, but on being thebest at what we do in life, then
we will see success through God.
Colossians chapter 3, verse 23tells us, whatever you do, work
(21:56):
heartily as for the Lord and notfor men.
Becoming God conscious enablesyou to make good decisions,
control your tongue, and see andhear what you need to see and
hear.
Pray for success in yourmarriage, finances, children,
health, attitude, and most ofall, your relationship with
(22:20):
Jesus.
You are destined for successwhen you pray for success in all
areas of your life.
Listen, you are destined forsuccess when you listen to God
still small voice.
I cannot emphasize enough howeach of us needs some quiet time
to reflect.
(22:40):
My conversations with Jesusevery day is life-changing.
I can pour out my heart to him.
His grace is unending and it isbeautiful.
I remember in June of 1985, mygut told me to cancel my Labor
(23:02):
Day weekend festival.
I ended up canceling an event, surprising a lot of people, but
that was my decision.
Well, that Labor Day weekend,Hurricane Elena hit the Gulf
Coast.
And because I listened, mycompany was saved thousands of
dollars.
Some people call it instinct ora gut feeling, but I call it God
(23:23):
loving us so much that Hedoesn't want us to see failure.
Impulsive decisions can oftencause trouble.
I today intentionally listen forGod's voice because I can't
afford to make mistakes withlong-term consequences.
We must allow the Holy Spirit tolead us.
(23:47):
It never ceases to amaze me howone day I am confused and lost
in what to do.
And then after my conversationwith Jesus, pouring out my heart
to him, the perfect idea comesto me.
Wow, you are destined forsuccess when you listen to God
still small voice.
(24:10):
So what is the power of faith?
The power of faith allows us tolive a life of peace, passion,
and purpose.
The power of faith allows us tosee God at work in our lives and
the lives of others.
The power of faith allows us towalk into the unknown without
fear or trepidation.
The power of faith will empowerus to drive away the darkness
(24:33):
with prayer and fresh boldness.
The power of faith affirms thatyou are a significant piece of
God's worldwide puzzle.
The power of faith gives you thedesire to provide the gift of
forgiveness.
The power of faith reminds usthat with God all things are
(24:55):
possible.
Some final thoughts.
Friends, the most importantthing, I think precious thing we
have today is our friends, family, and loved ones.
And every day as I get older, Irealize it really is a true
gift.
We've all heard the saying, boy, time sure seems to fly by.
It does.
(25:15):
So I want to encourage you totake time, to slow down, stop
and smell the roses, enjoy yourfamily.
You never know what tomorrowwill bring.
God loves you, God has a planfor you, and you are destined
for success when you get thehell out of your life and trust
(25:36):
Jesus for your entire life.
SPEAKER_03 (25:39):
You're listening to
Get the Hell Out of Your Life
with your host, Ron Myers.
Real stories, real struggles, and real hope.
SPEAKER_01 (25:49):
There's something so
relaxing about seeing the big
willowy white sails of asailboat gliding across the
water.
But woe to any boat whose rudderbreaks.
It's impossible to sail withouta rudder to guide you.
That's a feeling a lot of peopleknow.
Our lives seem rudderless, drifting without any real sense
of direction.
(26:10):
But that can change with Jesusat the helm.

Ron Meyers (26:46):
As I close out
today's show, I want to remind
you that faith has atransformative power that
significantly impacts our lives.
It involves trusting in God'spromises and recognizing that he
has a unique plan for each ofus.
Jeremiah 1.5 reminds us that Godknew us before we were born and
(27:08):
set us apart for his purposes, assuring us that we are created
and loved by him.
Faith allows us to see beyondour circumstances and trust in
God's goodness.
We can embrace our identity inChrist, knowing we are forgiven,
loved, and accepted.
(27:28):
Romans 8.28 tells us that in allthings, God works for the good
of those who love him, even insetbacks.
God is working to guide ustowards his plan.
So when facing challenges, faithencourages us to learn and grow
from our experiences rather thanstrive for perfection.
(27:50):
Philippians 4.13 reminds us thatwe can do all things through
Christ who strengthens us,highlighting the importance of
relying on his power.
Remember, God is always withyou, guiding and comforting you.
As you trust in him andrecognize your unique gifts, you
(28:11):
can confidently step into thenext chapter of your life,
knowing you are never alone andthat God is for you.
I will be back next week withanother great episode of Get the
Hell Out of Your Life availableon your favorite podcast
platform.
Until then, this is Ron Myersreminding you that I love you,
(28:33):
Jesus loves you, and when yougive Jesus your heart, you not
only get the hell out of yourlife, but you will get the power
of faith.
