The promoter.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Hello, my friend, it
is so good to be with you today.
Happy Memorial Day.
I hope everybody is having awonderful weekend.
It should be family time, gettogether a little barbecue,
visit the family cemetery, paysome respects.
We used to call it DecorationDay up in Iowa when I was
growing up.
(00:44):
Well, let me tell you who I amIf you are new to this show.
My name is Ron Myers and I havea show.
It's called Get the Hell Out ofyour Life, and my goal is to
bring you stories, stories thatoffer hope and encouragement,
because what if you could hear astory that was so relatable to
(01:05):
your story?
But yet these people show asolution, some hope.
What happened when they turnedit all over to Jesus?
So today's story is about FredGrissom.
Fred was a devil worshiper.
Ooh, fred was a devil worshiperand he graduated up to the
(01:26):
title of Luciferian.
A very fascinating conversation, to say the least.
And in the second part of ourjourney today, in the final
thought segment, jesus made medo it.
I think you'll enjoy it.
But first let's talk with Fred.
Fred, you really were a wildchild.
(01:47):
You were introduced to thedarkness at a very young age,
and not only did you end updancing with the devil.
You were running with the devil.
True, very true, you were whatthey call a Luciferian.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
I started off as a
devil worshiper, then became a
Satanist and moved into being aLuciferian.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Now, what age were
you introduced to this?
I started about 12.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Oh wow Young.
And then, as I became an adult,is when I switched to being
Luciferian.
What was the attraction to it?
The ability to manipulate andignorance.
That's the easiest way to putit ignorance.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
And from what I
understand talking with you, you
like to study the Bible.
So if you could twist it to aChristian and say, no, that's
not what you're reading, andthen you would give it from a
different point of view of.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Take everything out
of context and twist it to
whatever belief system you want.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
So if I came up to
you and said, fred, that's not
true.
Now you know, jesus came inhere to save you as a Luciferian
, what would you tell me?
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Really all depends on
the conversation and the feel
of it.
There was numerous differentthings that you could quote.
You know there is there's averse in the Bible where Jesus
talks about bringing peoplebefore him and he will kill them
.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
So you find things
and a person is illiterate and
they really don't know much ofthe Bible.
You can pretty much talk to meinto anything, huh.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Unfortunately.
That's where you have to havecontext.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
So if I came up to
you, as you're doing a walk in
life as a Luciferian, and Istarted telling you about Jesus,
I know you'd ignore me, butwhen I walked away, would you
try to cast a spell on me?
Speaker 3 (03:39):
It's not about
casting spells.
Pretty much I'd just laugh atyou.
I would curse you.
You would curse me, not a atyou, I would curse you, you
would curse me, not a spell, butyou know I would curse you.
I would have asked Satan tomake sure your day didn't go
well.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Now for parents out
there listening are there some
signs, if their children aredoing certain things that they
should be aware of, that maybethey are dancing with the devil?
Speaker 3 (04:07):
yeah, um man
mannerisms reading material.
Check their surfing history forwhat they're looking at on the
web, what videos they'rewatching.
When I was growing up, you hadto read everything in a book.
Nowadays, everything's at thetouch of your fingers, and that
makes it worse.
Easier for open minds at ayoung age to read or hear the
(04:33):
wrong information.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
You know, I've been
around Satanists or Luciferians,
I don't know, they didn't havea title, but you could tell you
could feel the darkness.
Did people look at you and kindof lock their car doors and
hide their kids under the?
Speaker 3 (04:47):
table.
I once had a pastor that met me.
Tell my girlfriend's mom at thetime to get rid of me.
He was the most evil man he hadever seen, that you were the
most evil man and all I did wassay hello.
There was a time where I wasvery angry, intimidating,
(05:08):
hateful.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Do you think a lot of
people are attracted to the
occult because part of it isrebellion rebellion against
authority, rebellion againstchurch, rebellion against
parents.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
It's definitely where
it starts, but doing the wrong
thing is always easier thandoing the right thing, and
that's where most people starttheir drift.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
And you told me that
one day you went into a church
and you were going to check itout.
Yeah, and you saw a cross inthere.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
I didn't realize at
the time that nobody else saw it
, but I listened to the sermonand then I got up and walked
across the church, pulled thechair up and tried to talk to
God At the cross.
Yeah, the cross was very bright, there's spotlights on the
ceiling above it.
But I sat down, tried to have aconversation and the silence
(06:05):
was just overwhelming.
At the time I didn't think Ifelt anything.
Now I know I did.
I tried to talk to God and Ididn't feel or hear anything.
So I wipe away the tears in myeyes and I leave, and then it
kind of went from there.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
I would think that
must just confirm to you.
See, god doesn't care about me.
I can't even talk to him inchurch.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
That ran through my
mind all the time, and I was
well known for makingblasphemous comments.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yeah, you told me you
had a Jeep.
You named your Jeep.
What was the name of that Jeep?
Speaker 3 (06:44):
I had one named Demon
, and when I traded that one I
got another one and named itBlasphemy.
Blasphemy was the Jeep that Itook to that church and
apparently after the journeystarted, a couple of different
people made comments about thefact that I'm showing up in a
(07:05):
Jeep named blasphemy.
My coworker who brought me tothat church used to beg me to
take that off once I had startedmy journey, and I told him no.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
You must have really
hated God to have a Jeep named
blasphemy.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Hatred is hatred for
other humans and hatred for
yourself.
So you had hate, a lot, a lotof anger and hate in my life.
I despised God for a long time.
There's no other word besidesdespise.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
And Christians, huh
yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
The majority of them,
yes, yes, hypocrites in my eyes
.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Then, then.
So then you end up going backto that same church.
That's the day you met Jesus.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
It was actually that
first day.
I went and sat down that firstday and again I said I didn't
feel anything.
Apparently I did, otherwisethere wouldn't have been tears
in my eyes and I probablywouldn't have had that
conversation.
But I went back the next Sundayto prove a point to my coworker
(08:20):
who told me that the spotlightswere never on.
We got there walking throughthe area where the chairs and
all are in front of the stageand where the cross is, and the
spotlights are on.
And my coworker, Chris, and hispastor were having a
conversation about the fact thatthey hadn't had the lights on
(08:43):
in months.
They forgot that they were off.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
So they did not have
the lights on, but you saw the
lights on the cross.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
The wall wasn't lit
up.
The cross was.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
It was just the cross
, that's all I saw, but you're
the only one that saw it.
You felt God beginning to workin your life.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
He lit that cross up
just for me.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Jesus said he left
the 99 to come after that one.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
You were that one.
He saw you hurting, he saw yourhatred, he saw your anger and
he wanted to get the hell out ofyour life.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
And I think that came
down from meeting Chris helped.
My wife apparently had beenpraying with me on a constant
basis, or for me, and I neverreally understood praying for
other people Between the two ofthem.
My journey is still in progress, but I now know how many years
(09:39):
ago was this?
Speaker 2 (09:40):
When did you come to
Jesus?
Speaker 3 (09:42):
I would say about
eight years ago.
It was right after my son'sdeath, which I believe was right
at eight years ago.
You lost a son.
Yeah, he was shot by policeofficers in Ocean Springs, which
is another long story.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
But that incident
made you run to Jesus.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
No, that incident
actually just made me a little
more vulnerable and open.
Wow, it confused me.
So sorry to hear that, becauseat that time in my life I had no
compassion or empathy or verylittle, and that started making
me realize that something likethis could happen to anybody,
(10:28):
making me realize that somethinglike this could happen to
anybody.
His death and my firstborn sonis also gone.
So you've lost two children yes, both of my sons from a
previous relationship.
Well, I'm so sorry to hear that, fred, I don't feel sorry for
myself about it, it's just itwasn't easy for me to handle and
(10:50):
you know I'm a manly man.
I don't think it'd be easy foranybody to handle.
I just kind of kept all myanger and my tears inside for
the longest time and it startedeating away at me.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
So the day that you
finally trade in the title of
Luciferian to a ChristianDisciple, disciple, that had to
have been a liberating day.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Over the time that
this journey has been making.
I make huge steps, sometimessmall steps, tom's small steps,
but for the longest time, evengoing to church, I kept asking
can I be saved?
Is it possible?
Because it is written thatblasphemy is an unforgivable sin
(11:39):
and not too many people haveblasphemed as much as I was.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Yeah, but blasphemy
is not believing.
But now you believe.
So now the blasphemy is overwith.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I have no doubt that
it's a little conceited, but I
have no doubt that Jesusdefinitely died for my sins In
fact, you renamed your Jeep.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I saw it when you
pulled it up in the parking lot.
What's the name of your Jeepnow?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Redemption,
redemption.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Redemption.
So I want you to talk tosomeone right now that darkness
is all over their life.
Maybe they're not dancing withthe devil and they're not a
Luciferian, but there's justdarkness.
They are attracted to theoccult and they're not sure
about this, jesus.
And what would you tell thatperson?
(12:28):
You're wrong.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
Your ideology is
wrong, you've been lied to and
he will keep lying to you.
Jesus is the only thing thatcan save you.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
And.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
I would tell them
that I'm a much calmer and I'm
happier walking with Jesus.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
You know I say that a
lot to the guests I talk to,
that I can tell and you're oneof them that you are a happy
individual and you have adirection in life now, because
God is bringing your purpose ofwhy Fred Griswold was put on
this planet.
So every day is a new day, isn't it?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yes, so life is good.
So what's your goals?
What are the things that you'relooking to do in the future?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
I'm actually in the
process right now of a baptism,
probably fairly quickly.
I wanted to do it before mybirthday, but that didn't happen
.
That's my last step and I'mgoing to keep, in my own way,
preaching to others and blessingothers with the fact that if I
(13:43):
can make it, you can make it.
If Paul could make it, you canmake it.
Amen.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
One thing I like to
ask my guest, to you not what
the Bible says, not what yourfriends say and not what your
wife says.
Who is Jesus?
Speaker 3 (14:02):
to you, my Savior.
Jesus is my Savior.
He is the cleanser of all mysins.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Before we go, I would
like you, if you wouldn't mind,
to pray for our listeners.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Well, I'll give it my
best shot.
I'm not the best as far aspraying goes.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Hey God listens to
the heart.
It's not words, it's all yourheart.
Hey God listens to the heart.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
It's not words, it's
all your heart.
God, please bless all thepeople who are in doubt.
Talk to those who can't hearyour voice or feel your presence
and let them know that you arethere for them and that your
(14:50):
word will help them becomebetter people and bless their
lives, so that Satan can'tdestroy them like he has tried,
and let them know that yourwords overcome his lies.
In your name, we pray thateverybody can find a way home
(15:16):
and be one of the 99.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
When I return my
final thought Jesus made me do
it.
Speaker 1 (15:31):

Speaker 5 (16:11):
At age 24, dwayne
Allen's life was drugs,
motorcycles and wild living.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
I was at a topless
bar one night and here I am
face-to-face with a toplessdancer and she is on drugs,
she's out of her mind, she looksme in the face and I look her
in the face and it's someonethat I have gone to high school
with.
I was paying for her to bethere and that was the bottom
end for me, because I knew therehad to be more than what I had
ever experienced.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
In a desperate move
to find peace, Dwayne Allen
landed in church.
Speaker 6 (16:39):
They said if you want
to know the Prince of Peace,
then would you come down frontbecause he's here to meet you.
And I went down front and he,the Prince of Peace, came to
live in my heart and my old drugbuddies would call and I would
tell them that I had found theanswer.
And when I told them it wasJesus, they would just, with
great shock in their voice, sayI can't believe, you've become
religious.
I would begin to tell them ohno, I'm not religious, I'm a
free man.
I no longer hurt.
(17:00):
I've met the Prince.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
And he's been
following Jesus Christ ever
since.
Dwayne Allen is now a churchpastor in Colorado.
Speaker 6 (17:06):
I'm not ashamed to
let you know.
I want this light in me to show.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
I'm not ashamed to
speak the name.
Welcome back listeners.
Yes, I will not be ashamed ofthe name of Jesus.
I want to thank Fred for cominginto the studios to share his
story, because I think a lot ofus can relate to the darkness
(17:53):
that surrounds us.
I know I walked in the darknessfor many years and it wasn't
the occult, it was just I didn'tknow any better.
I didn't really know who Jesuswas.
I heard about a Jesus of theBible, but it was this
legalistic Jesus.
It was never really a loving, forgiving Jesus that was going
(18:15):
to accept me for all my faultsand all my goofiness.
But he did.
A few weeks ago, you saw, youmay have heard the news that
Harrison Butker, kicker for theKansas City Chiefs, was invited
to speak at a private Catholicgraduation.
(18:36):
Now he is a devout Catholic andhis words well, it offended a
lot of people in the media, thenon-Christian type people, the
non-Christian type people.
The NFL came out with astatement that the views of
Harrison Bucker did not reflectthe views of the NFL.
There are some people now thatwant the Chiefs to get rid of
(18:58):
him.
What is it about the name ofJesus that just freaks out the
non-believers.
Just freaks out thenon-believers.
Well, jesus makes us do it.
Let me explain.
When we come to Christ and wehave a conversion experience,
there really is a transformationthat takes place.
(19:18):
The old self, our oldsin-natured self, is replaced
with a new nature.
In other words, jesus comes in,takes his broom, sweeps out the
house, sweeps all the stuff wehid under the carpet out of the
house, and comes and lives withus.
(19:40):
And there is no sin in us.
We are a new creation.
Christ is alive in us.
Now let me tell you, friends, when you really understand and
believe what was done in thatconversion experience, how can
you not tell someone about JesusAgain?
(20:02):
Jesus made me do it.
Made me do it.
When you're sick all night longand you have fever and you just
don't know what to do andyou're praying for the Lord to
help you, to help you get betterand you get better, what do you
do?
You tell someone Again, jesusmade me do it.
(20:22):
When we have no direction inlife, when we're looking for
purpose and people have left usand they have abandoned us and
we feel alone and isolated.
But we meet Jesus in thecrossroads and he changes our
life forever, how can you nottell someone Again.
(20:44):
Jesus made me do it.
Friends, we are living at a timeright now when people are
looking for hope.
They're finding hope in needles, in drugs, in alcohol, in
pornography.
They're doing anything they canto fill the void in their life.
They just haven't been able tofill it.
But one day and I will speakprophetically when they do find
(21:08):
Jesus, they will notice thechange in their life and I
promise they will tell someonewhat Jesus did for them.
Jesus makes us do it.
Now.
When I say Jesus makes us do it, no, it's not a command, it's
not a rule, it's not a you mustdo this.
We want to.
(21:28):
We want to share it.
We lost a hundred pounds of oldbaggage and sin when we got
Jesus into our heart.
We have freedom.
We can dream.
Our talents, skills andabilities grow in areas that we
never knew they could grow in,because Jesus has a plan for us.
Jesus is going to take us outinto the marketplace.
(21:50):
Jesus is going to show theworld him through us, through
our talents, our skills and ourabilities.
Jesus makes us do it.
Friends, this is your time, thisis my time, this is everyone's
time to quit listening to allthe noise and the negative
things happening in this world.
(22:10):
Quit believing the lies of theworld and believe in Jesus.
He is the truth and the way.
And, yes, he will give youpeace, he will give you rest, he
will forgive your sins, he willgive you a life that you will
just share.
Jesus, whether it's inconversation or through your
(22:31):
actions or your deeds, jesusmakes you do it.
So if anybody ever tells youyou talk about Jesus too much,
you're a little too religious, you're a little too churchy, say
well, I'm sorry too churchy, say well, I'm sorry Jesus made
me do it.
Speaker 1 (22:50):

Ron Myers Real
stories, real struggles and real
hope.
A century and a half before theinternet, there was something
that, for its day, was even moreastounding.
Since the beginning of timeuntil 1836, it took weeks and
months to communicate over longdistances.
Then a man named Samuel Morseinvented the most revolutionary
communications device in historythe telegraph.
Using a series of clicks andpauses, known as Morse code,
communication across a continentnow took seconds, not months.
(23:23):
When Samuel Morse was asked bya reporter how he came up with
his ideas, he said there havebeen times when I hit a
standstill and prayed for morelight.
I never felt I deserved thehonors that came to me from
America and Europe.
It wasn't because I wassuperior to other scientists.
When the Lord wanted to bestowthis gift on mankind, he had to
use someone.
I'm just grateful that he choseto reveal it to me Samuel Morse
(23:46):
, inventor of the 19th centuryinternet, the telegraph and
Morse code.
No wonder the first words eversent across telegraph wires were
look, what God has done.

Ron will be back in a minute toclose out today's show.
We want to remind you today ofthe last words of Jesus it is
(24:41):
finished.
What is finished?
The finished work of Jesusrefers to the complete and final
accomplishment of salvationthrough His death and
resurrection.
It means that Jesus has doneeverything necessary for our
forgiveness, redemption andreconciliation with God.
Through His sacrifice on thecross, jesus paid the price for
(25:02):
our sins once and for all, providing total forgiveness and
cleansing once and for all.
Providing total forgiveness andcleansing this finished work of
Jesus means that we no longerneed to strive or work to earn
God's favor or forgiveness.
We can rest in the assurancethat our salvation is secure and
that we are fully accepted byGod because of what Jesus has
(25:23):
done for us.
Now back to Ron.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Well, friends, my
time is up, and Memorial Day
weekend.
When I grew up, it was calledDecoration Day to us and we
would go and decorate the gravesof our loved ones that had died
in war.
It was a fun day.
Our relatives would gettogether then at a park and we
(25:48):
would have a big family picnic.
You know the softball, thekickball, the hamburgers, the
hot dogs, the watermelon.
Such a wonderful, wonderfulmemory, and thank God for
memories.
So, this Memorial Day weekend, enjoy yourself, Spend some time
with the family.
Have you ever heard the quote byMother Teresa If you want to
(26:12):
change the world, go home andlove your family.
What a great piece of wisdom.
That is, Friends, because, whenall is said and done, all we
have is our family, Our family, our beautiful, lovely family.
No matter how different we allare, we need to stick together,
(26:35):
love together, forgive togetherand do life with Jesus together,
Because one day we're going toall be together if we know Jesus
.
