Hello, my friends, it
is so good to be with you.
I'm Ron Myers.
The show is called Get the HellOut of your Life.
And today, a very differenttwist of a story.
As you know, I am a Jesus freak.
I will go anywhere, anytime torecord a story of God's
faithfulness.
Well, I went undercover to anundisclosed location and got to
(00:45):
hear the story of a survivor ofhuman trafficking Shocking story
.
One reason she wanted to shareher story was to encourage all
of us to hold on to our faith,to never give up on God, no
matter how daunting ourcircumstances may seem.
Her voice has been altered andI will refer to her as Charlie.
(01:08):
Strap on your seatbelt andlisten to a story from a
survivor of human trafficking.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
I was born in the
South.
I was raised by my mother.
I didn't ever have a father inmy life, but I had a grandfather
who's blind.
He lived in the house with usand then my grandmother.
They both didn't carry him andit was me and my brother.
Once in a while my brotherwould be there.
(01:36):
He stayed with my family mymom's no, his dad's grandmother,
no, his dad's mother and so Inever seen him that much because
we really couldn't afford tofeed him or take care of him.
We didn't have very much money.
(01:57):
But my grandfather was a palsy.
When you know, he molested me tothe point my mother would have
to take me to the doctor andthey would say somebody's been
touching her and she would sayoh no, she does that to herself.
She calls it herself.
How old were you?
I was little, little little.
(02:19):
Ever since I was, probablysince I was born he was doing
that because he was a pedophile,he had been in trouble for it
and he had messed with some ofmy other cousins and things like
that, but nobody would do orsay anything.
No, he's just a blind old man.
(02:40):
I loved him with all my heart.
I didn't know that was bad, what was happening to me.
I just knew this man loved me,would tell me he loved me, he
played with me and that's whatit was.
But to this day I have aproblem with my mother because I
(03:01):
just don't understand why shedidn't save me.
Other than that, I grew up and Iwent to school, had problems in
school, didn't make it through.
Kids picked on me really, really bad because I was born
with my facial, you know, deformity, and I was overweight
(03:23):
and I quit in the seventh grade.
I mean, I might get one goodmeal a day and that would be at
school because it was a freelunch and they would make fun of
me to the point I couldn't eveneat.
I would have to.
I just sat outside and waittill it was all done with and
just go home and hope for thebest.
And I I didn't even get it goodat home.
My cousins picked on me toobecause I was different.
(03:47):
But I started meeting otherfriends at church and it got
better.
They act like they love me andthey thought I was funny and
they wanted to get to know meand things like that.
But then my preacher kind oflet me down.
He didn't believe in this andthat and I was going to the
Christian school and he kind ofhe put me out of school because
(04:10):
I was listening to New Kids onthe Block and I went to his
house and told everybody that hedidn't believe in church,
didn't believe in TVs and allthat.
But he had a TV in his room soI quit going to church.
He let me down, but he had a TVin his room, so I quit going to
church.
That he let me down.
And one person I believed inlet me down.
That I didn't believe, you know.
(04:31):
And then I started hangingaround these other kids, kids in
the streets and uh you probablyfound community.
They all made me feel goodabout myself.
They gave me compliments, theygave me nicknames, they, you
know, they made me feel goodabout myself.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
So they gave you what
your mom and grandpa couldn't
give you.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Right, and nobody was
trying to mess with me at that
time.
They were just showing me thegood points of life out there.
Then I moved on and went to my.
I started to become homelessand I moved to be with my cousin
.
I was about 22 years old andthen I started getting they
(05:19):
started.
It was truck drivers and thingslike that, and we was dealing
with truck drivers.
They were loading, unloading, and so you know what truck
drivers and things like that, and we was dealing with truck
drivers.
They were loading, unloading, and so you know what truck
drivers do.
They do drugs to stay awakeMethamphetamines, things like
that and so they would offer usdrugs, alcohol, money, things
(05:40):
like that, to go get them stuffoff the truck line while they
waited in line all night to waitso they could unload.
It would take them 24 hoursbefore they could unload
sometimes, and so we'd go getthe drugs and do the drugs and
all that you know.
(06:00):
And this girl she kept buggingme all the time.
Could you ride me here?
Would you bring me here?
Would you do this?
Would you do that?
I was like you know, sure, I'llbring you home.
I brought her to this place andit didn't look like a home to me
and you want to come in?
No, I don't have time, I've gotto go here.
(06:22):
No, no, I want you to come inwith me.
I don't have time, I got to gohere.
No, no, no, I want you to comein with me.
So I come in with her and wewalk in and there's four guys in
there, so, so, so, so, y'allguys.
I said well, I'm going to leavenow.
And they said no, you're not.
And I was like I said yes, I'mleaving now.
(06:42):
No, you're not.
And I was like I said yes, I'mleaving now.
No, you're not.
The girl's looking at me.
Her eyes are, they're so bigthat you can't, you just don't
know.
And she starts shaking.
And they looked at her and theysaid do you know how stupid you
are?
And we know you're a snitch.
I said you don't know me.
He said we're talking to herand it was because she brought
(07:05):
me there.
I'm thinking I don't know.
They murdered her right infront of me and then they
promised me that they was goingto do that to me.
And they promised me they wasgoing to do that to my family.
And I didn't say this, but theyconvinced me.
While they was doing that toher, they was doing it to me and
(07:31):
they would choke you out to thepoint you couldn't breathe, and
then you would come back alive.
But she didn't come back alive, and sometimes I wonder why God
just didn't take me there, because my life was so bad after
that Until I had my daughter, and then I was stuck with those
guys and those type people foryears.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
They wouldn't let you
leave.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
I would leave, but I
was connected to them because I
knew if I didn't come back anddo what I said, they said my
mother would end up dead.
I would try to get jobs andwork and they'd tell me you're
gonna do this and we're gonnaget this from this store or this
(08:11):
place of employment, or you'regonna let us rob this place, or
you're gonna let us do this orthat.
And I would always quit and say, look, I got fired.
I would try to do things untilyou know, because when they
would say let us rob it, I wouldalways be scared they're going
to shoot me in that robberybecause that's going to be a way
(08:34):
for them to you know, to dosomething to me.
Then it was like I was 26 and wewere setting up shop.
Setting up shop is where yousell drugs and we were setting
up on the front of this house.
There was no lights on oranything.
I thought that the people athome were asleep and everything
(08:58):
in the house.
There was no lights or anythingin the house, but there was
booger lights, like you know, those lights that stand outside.
That lets me know that Ithought somebody lived there and
he goes look, there's somebodyin a truck coming where I don't
have enough stuff to give them,to sell them.
(09:19):
You're going to have to waithere.
He said, but I want you to goin the house so nobody will mess
with you.
I was like I don't know thesepeople.
He goes, there's nobody livinghere.
I was like you tell me now.
And so he gets up and walksaway and the person that was
supposed to pick him up I neversee anybody pick him up.
(09:40):
But I walk in the house andthere's somebody in there
waiting on me.
I got set up and so he commitsto doing his thing and he had a
gun and I was like you let themhave their way.
And I said you know, I'm notgoing to say anything about this
(10:01):
.
And when he said you're notgoing to be able to, I started
and then I started trying tofight and I got ahold of he.
Was high on his mind and I canstill.
I can't stand the smell ofstale beer and those little
black cigars.
(10:21):
The smell of stale beer andthose little black cigars.
That makes me just clicks andthis PTSD type thing to me.
And he, I got a hold of his gunand I started shooting.
I'm not sure if I hit.
I know I heard him holler, buthe.
(10:43):
He ran off the front door and Inever heard or seen.
I don't know if he could havewent to the hospital.
I don't know what had happenedto him.
I never heard anything elseabout him.
I never seen him again.
But nine months later.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Your daughter was
born.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
My daughter was born
and I looked at her.
I looked at her every day and Iwas like I don't see that
person.
And before I had her I wasgoing to give her to my cousins.
And I was sitting on the couchone day and I cleared my throat
(11:26):
and I felt her jump in mystomach and my heart just melted
.
And then she came and she wasopening her eyes, trying to look
at me, and I knew there was noway in the world that I could
(11:46):
give her away.
And that's when I startedtrying to fight and that's when
I started trying to get awayfrom them, Because I knew they
couldn't take that away from meand they couldn't steal her away
from me or hurt her.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I saw her picture
here.
She's pretty special.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
Yes, she can play a
saxophone like there's nobody's
business.
She can sing like you wouldn'tknow.
And she loves God.
She's all about Jesus.
She sure is.
She's a good girl, never hadany problems from her.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
So out of all the
trials and tribulations.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
I would not have got
her if I would not have been
through those tribulations.
That was what led me throughall that.
That's what gets me up in themorning.
God knew I was strong enough togo get her and you know what
happened.
Through all this, my daughterdid a DNA test and she wanted to
try to go find her dad.
I was scared.
(12:40):
I had nothing to do with thisand it wasn't even the man that
raped me.
It was a really good guy that Ihad dated on the truck ride for
several months.
Did she reach out to him?
Yes, and they love each othervery much.
That was another blessing.
He treats her like she's justhis little angel.
(13:00):
And you tell me that's not ablessing and that was a big amen
.
See how God looked after meafter that.
I mean, he's like see.
So I started going all aroundthe US, like to Michigan and
California, trying to hide.
But they would find you andthey'd know where you are.
They'd know where you are.
(13:21):
That's why I'm so scared.
In that realm they're going tofind me all the time.
But I just had enough of it.
I was trying to commit suicide.
I died a couple of times.
I just had enough of it.
You know, maybe if I diethey're just going to leave my
family alone, and they're justgoing to leave me alone because
(13:41):
I'm just wrecked.
So I was like you know what I'mgonna do.
I'm gonna go down to some gangmembers that are friends of mine
and I'm gonna come back and I'mgonna kill these people down
here.
And I mean every word I said.
I put a shirt and somethingelse in a backpack and I walked
out of my place.
(14:03):
I hid in the streets for a whileand then I hid at my mom's for
about a month and then I startedwalking down the street at
night and I was making my waydown, step by step, and then
there was these guys that wasworking on the highway and I was
walking following them and theycome over and ask me was I a
prostitute?
And I was walking followingthem and they come over and ask
(14:23):
me was I a prostitute?
And I told them no, that I wasscared of somebody that was
coming after me and I was justfollowing them for protection
and they started feeding me andthey said they was trying to
look out for me and everythingelse, and they told me to keep
up with them that night and so Iwalked down the street all that
(14:46):
night until the daylight andthey said well, we're getting
off work and we're sorry, can webring you somewhere?
But I didn't trust them enoughto get in the car with them
either.
You know, that's just more men.
You know, I was just leaving, Iwas just going and I was just
leaving.
I was just going and I wasconfused and I was on the point
of suicide, everything else.
(15:07):
And I went to a Walmart and Ijust asked, told me, to walk in
that Walmart and ask somebodyfor help, some nice lady that
would drive me down there, youknow.
And so this lady come out of theyou know where they count the
money and all that stuff.
She come out, she had a buspass and she opened it up and it
(15:29):
had some instructions in there,a map, and the map I got.
I read the map and I followedthe map all the way to this
little place and it was forthese women, it was a shelter
for women, and the man thatdrove me, he stopped me halfway
all the way to this little place.
And it was for these women, itwas a shelter for women, and the
man that drove me.
He stopped me halfway.
I walked like five miles and herode me up the rest of the way
(15:50):
on his little golf cart and hegoes these people will help you.
And he said I'm not gonna leaveher here unless you're gonna
help her, because she needs help.
And about that time they put mein this little bitty house and I
was scared out of my wits.
But I was at the end of my rope.
I didn't know what to do.
They come in and was feeding meand everything.
(16:13):
And about that time the mostbeautiful lady walked in the
door.
It was Miss Susie.
She's just smiling and justjust.
She looked like an angel andshe set me up in this beautiful
hotel room.
And when I went in there Iunplugged everything in the
(16:35):
motel room.
I was scared that they werelistening to me.
Somebody was going to hear methat this was just too easy, you
know.
And then the next day they tookme and they took care of me for
between here and there, they'vebeen taking care of me for four
(16:56):
years and I fell gone.
May the 5th 2019, and I neverthought of another drug.
My life's been completelydifferent.
Sometimes I look back, sometimes I think about you know
, maybe I don't want to wake up,but I always do and when I get
(17:18):
halfway through the day or mostof the way through the day and I
look at pictures of my daughteror I hear from a friend that I
met there, they just pray withme and they're my prayer
partners and everything AFF.
But if anybody out there thinkslife is just so hard that you
just can't take it, god's gotyou.
(17:40):
Just call on God, he'll protectyou.
He'll protect you.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
So how are you doing
today?
Speaker 3 (17:51):
How am I doing today?
I'm great.
I got my old place, which Inever really had a home before,
a steady home.
I'm disabled.
Now, though, I feel like if Godwouldn't have set me down, I
(18:12):
might still be in thosesituations, because I would
still be running, because I'd beup and out there.
You know, I'm looking at mylife now, as sick as I am, as a
(18:32):
blessing, not as a curse, because, like they say sometimes
, when God sets you down in aquiet place, there's a reason
for it.
There's a reason for everything.
There's a reason for everything, and I needed a rest and I
needed peace, because I neverhad any.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Do you have peace?
Speaker 3 (18:51):
To a point.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
If that angel, miss
Susie, hadn't come in, do you
think you would be here today?
I'd be in prison, I'd be dead.
So God's never late, he's neverearly, he's always on time,
always.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
And you know, I sat
down over that day and I said
God, he was a friend and an ID.
I didn't have an ID and hereally gave me, he showed out,
you have a friend in Jesus, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
As people hear your
story, what do you want them to
come away with?
Speaker 3 (19:31):
Nothing's too big,
nothing's too hard.
Just trust in Jesus.
He can fix everything.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
With all you've been
through.
Will you pray for our listeners?
Speaker 3 (19:47):
that are listening.
Yes, I'll pray for them.
Dear Heavenly Father, whoever'slistening to this, whoever it
touches their heart or don'ttouch their heart.
God bless them, take care ofthem.
They might be on their last leg.
(20:08):
They might not be able to wakeup.
God, take care of them and notbe willing to wake up.
God, take care of them.
God, I love you and I praiseyou and I thank you for all
you've done for me and all thatyou're going to do for me and my
family and my whoever hearsthis in Jesus' name.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Wow.

Now, one reason Charlie wantedto share her story was to
encourage all of us to hold onto our faith.
No matter how daunting thecircumstances, we can never give
(21:14):
up on God.
Her message resonates this nomatter how tough life gets,
never stop believing.
Faith is not just a refuge.
It's a powerful force that canlead to redemption and recovery.
Thank you, charlie, for sharingyour incredible journey with us
today.

You're listening to Get theHell Out of your Life with your
host, Ron Myers.
Real stories, real strugglesand real hope.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
If life has been
throwing you curveballs lately,
I want to encourage you todaythat you can trust God to keep
His promises.
Don't give up on God.
My name is Mark and this is theJourney you know.
Life often feels overwhelming, filled with hardships that
threaten to shake our faith inGod.
When life gets really hard,it's tempting to wonder if God's
(23:07):
promises still stand.
But the truth is, god'spromises are sure and his
faithfulness is unwavering.
Faith isn't about having atrouble-free life.
It's about trusting God throughevery storm.
It's choosing to believe thatwhat God has promised eternal
life, peace beyond understanding, strength for today, all of
(23:29):
this is still true, even whenlife is hard.
So if you're feelingoverwhelmed, remember God's
promises are not void because ofyour difficulties.
Troubles in life help toproduce in us patience,
perseverance and strength, andremember this.
1 Corinthians, chapter 1,reminds us that God comforts us
(23:50):
in all our troubles so that wemay be able to comfort those who
are in any trouble.
So, when life gets difficult, don't give up on God.
Fix your eyes on Jesus.
His strength is sufficient andhis promises will not fail.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Here's a refreshing
word for you today from
Galatians, chapter 2, 20.
I have been crucified withChrist and I no longer live, but
Christ lives in me, the life Ilive in the body.
I live by faith in the Son ofGod, who loved me and gave
himself for me.
How do you get the hell out ofyour life?
Get on your knees and cry outto the Lord.
(24:35):
He hears you, right where youare.
How do you get the hell out ofyour life?
Well, you replace it with Jesus.
We've got to be born again, born of the Spirit, and that's
by trusting Jesus Christ, turning from our sins and
trusting Jesus.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
You find out about
this man by the name of Jesus,
who went to the cross and gavehis life so that we will have a
life more abundantly, and gavehis life so that we will have a
life more abundantly, and if youcan receive that love, he will
love that hell out of you.
Speaker 3 (24:59):
You trust in him and
you let him love the hell right
out of you.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
How do you get the
hell out of your life?
Oh gosh, jesus, jesus, jesusJesus.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
Jesus is the way, the
truth and the life.
No one comes to the Fatherexcept through him.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
So how do you get the
hell out of your life?
