and offering real hope.

life's challenges with a boldconfidence and renewed hope.
Now let's join our host, ronMyers.
The promoter.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hello, my friends, it
is so good to be with you today
.
Well, easter, a lot ofcelebrations going on, and today
I wanted to do a show for thepeople that will not be going to
church, the people that justreally don't know much about
Easter.
Maybe they just don't believein Easter and they're not going
(00:51):
to church.
Hey, friends, there's nothingwrong with that, because you
give me an opportunity to visitwith you for a few minutes and
why the Easter message isimportant to anybody that
doesn't go to church or evenbelieve in God.
Hey, just invest a few minutesand either you'll like it, agree
(01:12):
with it, or tell me to go fly akite.
That's fine, I'm a big boy, butsometimes, friends, I just want
to talk to you and bring somefriends in and let's just talk
about Easter.
Why is it important and whatwill I do when I hear the Easter
message?
You know, some of the thingsthat we want to answer in
(01:34):
today's conversation and in thestudios is Andrew and Paul, and
I want to welcome y'all to thestudios.
Y'all I'm picking up thatSouthern little accent, since
I've been here for many, manyyears.
Why is this message importanttoday to people that have
nothing to do with the church?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Well, you know, ron,
what's going on in the world
today.
We're living in a day like noother day in human history or in
American history, we could say,at least in my lifetime.
I'm 54 years old and I've neverseen America like it is today,
where America is suffering withsuch great deception.
We will say People are lookingfor truth, ron, people are
looking for answers, people arelooking for hope, people know
(02:19):
that things are wrong andthey're looking for an answer.
And all of these we call themseven mountains of society have
government and family and mediaand arts and entertainment and
religion and business andeducation.
Those are those pillars ofsociety.
In all those pillars of society, we see that there's trouble
and people's hearts are reallyconcerned.
What's going on in the worldtoday?
(02:40):
And the greatest message aboutEaster is Easter gives us hope,
hope that there is a better way, hope that there is a God in the
name of Jesus who desires tocome into our lives and bring us
this hope.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Paul, what's the hope
that we have in Jesus?
Speaker 4 (02:59):
The hope that we have
in Jesus is he didn't come to
start a religion which mostpeople relate anything.
You hear Jesus and instantlypeople put up a wall because
they think religion.
But Jesus is the furthestperson from religion there is.
So the great hope would be okay.
Just because you want todevelop or you even try or
entertain a relationship withJesus doesn't mean you're going
(03:21):
to become a member of some kindof religion.
It means you're going to becomea member of his personal inner
circle, god's family.
And so Easter we always hearabout it as it's the
resurrection of Jesus.
Yes, actually, the main focusof Easter is the death of Jesus,
because if there wouldn't havebeen a death of Jesus, there
wouldn't have been aresurrection and Jesus came and
(03:43):
gave his life, wouldn't havebeen a resurrection and Jesus
came and gave his life.
It's like as if you and I werebest friends and you were in
trouble.
Would I really say I'm going togive my life for Ron so he gets
out of trouble?
Nobody would do that, but Jesushad to do this.
His father made him come andbecome sin for us or take our
place so we could have arelationship with God and become
(04:03):
part of his family.
So the death of Jesus was soimportant.
And if you've never had anykind of acknowledgement of Jesus
in your life, or God in yourlife, at least realize that
Jesus was the only one who saidI'm going to give myself, so
hopefully I'll get a shot atbeing a family member, or this
person will become a familymember of my family and not a
(04:26):
religious member.
And so Easter is very, veryfocused on Jesus's death.
Now the resurrection took placebecause Jesus had never sinned.
He was the only spirituallyalive human being there was, so
he didn't belong in the placewhere dead spiritual people go,
so he couldn't stay there.
It would have been amiscarriage of justice, so God
(04:48):
had to get him out of therebecause he didn't belong there.
But Jesus went there on purpose.
So any human who is notspiritually alive will go to
this place called hell.
But they don't have to staythere if they accept what Jesus
did for them and that's thewhole thing of Easter there.
If they accept what Jesus didfor them and that's the whole
thing of Easter Jesus didsomething for them so they don't
(05:09):
have to go to a place that theywill naturally go by default
because they're spiritually dead.
But if they just accept himtaking their place for them,
they get the gift of his life, which is resurrection, life, and
that's the whole doctrine ofChristianity we will rise from
the dead.
Jesus rose from the deadbecause he was spiritually alive
(05:30):
and by choice becamespiritually dead so he could get
the spiritually dead to theplace of spiritual life.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
You know, I
appreciate all that someone is
saying, but listen, I do goodthings.
I feed the people at the soupkitchen and I visit the elderly
at the nursing home.
I do good things, so I'm goingto be in heaven.
I'm doing all the right things,so why do I need Jesus?
Speaker 4 (05:56):
You probably do those
things because perhaps your
parents taught you to do that orin your heart is to do good
things, which is great.
But when Adam and Eve diedspiritually, they had not had
any children yet.
So when they started havingchildren, everything reproduces
after itself and they reproduceda human race that was all
spiritually dead.
So God lost his son, adam.
(06:18):
You can see it.
If you read anywhere in thebook of Matthew, you'll see that
Adam was God's son.
God's first son died.
Oh, I thought that Jesus wasGod's first son.
Jesus was God's first begottenson or son by birth.
Adam was God's first son bycreation.
So when Adam died spirituallyand started having children, all
(06:39):
of the human race was bornspiritually dead, naturally
separated from God.
So there had to be somethingtake place to get man out of the
spiritual death, and the onlyway to do that was have someone
who's spiritually alive givetheir life in the place of the
spiritually dead.
So we do good things and ourgood works won't ever get us
(06:59):
into spiritual life.
Only a sacrifice of aspiritually alive person would
get us into spiritually alive.
And so it's great to do thegood things, but if you leave
the earth or you leave your bodyin the condition of spiritual
death, you will by default go tothe place where the spiritually
dead people go, and that'sseparated from God forever.
(07:20):
That's the simplicity of Easterhe gave his life so you can
become spiritually alive.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
So what you're
talking about, ron.
You know many people are tryingwithin themselves to do good
works.
Like you said, go to the soupkitchen.
I live a good life.
I go to work, I pay my taxes, Ido good, I obey the law.
You know I was good to my kids.
I'm kind to my wife.
You know we give to charity, wegive to St Jude.
We do these things and we try todo these things because some
(07:48):
way we think that our good worksare going to gain us entrance
to heaven.
And somehow God's got this biglogbook in heaven and when I get
there my good works are goingto outweigh my bad works.
Well, the Bible is really true, ron, where it says that we're
not saved by our good works.
Our good works will never gainus entrance to heaven.
What Paul was just talking aboutis how we gain entrance to
(08:11):
heaven.
We gain entrance to heaven forone reason, and one reason only.
Jesus said I am the doorway toheaven.
Jesus said I'm the way, thetruth and the life to heaven.
If you're going to go to heaven, the only way to get into
heaven is to accept thesacrifice of Jesus Christ on the
cross.
That's what Easter is all aboutJesus died for the sins of the
(08:32):
whole world.
Probably the most famousscripture verse in the whole
world is John 3, 16.
Everybody knows it, for God soloved the world that he gave his
only begotten son.
That's what it says whoeverbelieves in him receives eternal
life.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
I grew up in a
Catholic church, going to church
every day, because I went to aCatholic school and we went
there on Easter.
But I grew up religious.
I mean, it was just a tradition, it was ritual.
But something happened in mylate 30s when I decided to leave
religion and step intoChristianity.
(09:07):
I went from a knowledge ofJesus to a relationship with
Jesus.
Someone might be on the fenceabout Jesus, so their question
might be what will my life belike if I give all this stuff up
that I'm doing and begin tofollow Jesus?
Will I have to join a specialgroup and have a secret
(09:27):
handshake?
Will I have to wear certainthings on my head?
What's going to happen when Itake Jesus?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Well, I can talk
about for me.
What happened to me was I wasin the United States Navy
Seabees.
I grew up like you, ron, I grewup Catholic.
So I grew up very religious.
You know, I went to Easter andChristmas and did those
religious things but I never hada relationship with Jesus.
And when I got into the UnitedStates Navy Seabees I went on
deployment.
Well, I got in trouble and I wasarrested for doing some things
(09:59):
and it wasn't good and I was setbefore a chaplain.
They said before you make anymore decisions, you need some
counsel.
So they set me before a Navychaplain and the Navy chaplain,
for the first time in my life, talked to me about the law of
God.
I knew the Ten Commandments butI never really knew them.
And he walked me through theTen Commandments and he asked me
what are you going to do on theDay of Judgment when you stand
(10:21):
before God?
And you violated all of hislaws.
And he asked me you know so?
Have you ever told a lie?
And I said sure.
And he said so.
That makes you a liar.
And one of God's commandmentsis don't lie.
And he told me what sin was, which I never really had a
definition of sin.
Everybody lies.
So we tell lies because we wantto get away with things, but on
the inside of us we know it'swrong because God's wrote his
(10:44):
law in our heart.
So because he wrote his law inmy heart, I know that I was a
liar, even though I got awaywith it.
He said God knows everythingabout you, so he knows that
you're a liar.
Well, one of his commandmentsis don't bear false witness,
don't tell lies.
So on the day of judgment, ifyou stand before God and you've
broken all of his 10commandments and he took me
through all 10, and I realized Ibroke them all he said what are
(11:07):
you going to do?
God's judgment is on your life.
And because of that I realized Idon't know.
I said I don't know what I'mgoing to do and for the first
time I really felt the judgmentof God that, oh, my goodness, if
the Catholic church is reallyright and Jesus is really who he
says he is, then there reallyis a heaven and there really is
a hell.
And how do I get to heaven?
(11:27):
And I never had that because Ihad religion, but I never had
this relationship.
And then he said I said, well,I don't want to go to hell.
What do I need to do to getsaved?
And he gave me a Bible and Iread the Gospel of John and I
came back and I really didn'tknow what to do and I said could
you help me?
He said you need to turn fromyour sins, you need to repent
and ask God to forgive you.
At that moment I've never donethat in my whole life, where I
(12:00):
realized that I had to ask Jesusto forgive me.
And when I asked Jesus toforgive me and I accepted his
sacrifice Lord Jesus, I've donewrong, I've violated all your
laws.
I've broken all yourcommandments.
I don't live for you at all.
I treat you like nothing and Iask you to forgive me for doing
that.
Forgive me of my sins and Iwant to have a relationship with
you.
And when I prayed that simpleprayer, not even knowing what I
was praying because the chaplainhelped me my whole life changed
(12:23):
.
Wow, because I became it wasn'treligious anymore.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Jesus really came and
began to help and really that
is the point of this specialprogram today with Easter.
We want them to know that Jesusbelieves in them, believes in
them, god believes in them, yes, sir, and has a plan and a life
for them.
And, paul, if I would haveknown that my life with Jesus
(12:50):
would take on a whole newmeaning when I began this
relationship, maybe I would havedone it sooner.
You know, I don't know.
God's timing is perfect timing.
But there are people out thereon the fence right now that they
want something different intheir life and we are telling
them that if they take Jesus intheir heart and accept Jesus,
(13:10):
they become a new creation, their sins are forgiven and it's
like they have a clean slate.
Are you sure about that, or can?
If they say, well, this isn'ttrue, I want my money back?
Speaker 4 (13:21):
If it didn't work,
there wouldn't be so many bold
Christians who love to talkabout it.
Amen, brother.
That gives you a good idea rightthere.
And you had asked am I going tohave to get rid of all this and
that and then start wearingthis funny hat and wearing these
funny clothes if I become aChristian?
How about forget becoming aChristian and just realize, when
you ask Jesus to help you andyou give him access into your
(13:45):
life, you will never be ashamedthat you did that.
Jesus isn't asking you tochange your clothes or to change
what you're doing.
All he's asking you is give hima shot at your life by calling
on him.
There's a scripture that sayswhosoever shall call upon the
name of the Lord, which is Jesus, you will never be ashamed.
So let him be the man who's bigenough to back up that
(14:06):
scripture right there and proveit in your own life, just by you
saying okay, jesus, I'm goingto give you a shot at my life,
I'm asking you to help me.
And then the things in your lifethat are destroying your life.
He'll start working on helpingyou get rid of those things,
whether it's any form ofaddiction or whether it's
unforgiveness.
Give him a shot.
He'll start working on those toget those out of your life.
And then the things that hewants in your life.
(14:26):
He's not going to make you dosomething drastic.
Some people maybe he will, because they have ability to do
that, but most of us it's tiny, tiny things that he does in our
lives and his whole purpose isto help us.
In fact, the Bible says let ustherefore come boldly to the
Lord and ask for his help.
(14:48):
So he's all about helping, notabout conforming.
He's all about you giving himan open door, access to
transform you or change you ormake you be the person that you
will even like being and that'sso nice when you like yourself
because you realize he's the onewho gave me an ability to enjoy
(15:10):
where I am and who I am.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
Are you saying?
Andrew said a few minutes agothat a lot of people are
concerned of what's happening inthe world and they're looking
to politicians for answers?
Are you saying that thetroubles that we have in our
life and in this world can onlybe resolved by?
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Jesus.
The troubles in the world aregoing to get worse and worse.
Probably, the problems thatcome into your life are going to
get worse and worse and greaterand greater.
But the ability to go throughthem and be content as you go
through them is so much easier.
That's the whole purpose of theLord is to walk us through the
things in life.
In fact, in Psalm 91, the veryend of it, it says I will be
(15:50):
with him in trouble.
So there's troubles that arecoming.
So I can't say that when youhave a relationship with Jesus
that your life is going to betrouble-free.
So I can't say that when youhave a relationship with Jesus,
that your life's going to betrouble-free.
No-transcript for your help.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
You know and Andrew,
you and I were talking before we
went on the air having somecoffee is the freedom that I
received by bringing Christ tomy heart.
I lost all the baggage of sin,of fear, of doubt.
All of a sudden I realized thatI was free.
I was free of my past.
(16:44):
Jesus had a plan for me.
He wasn't condemning me, hewasn't shaming me, he wasn't
making me feel guilty.
I was beginning to feel alive, that I finally.
It was kind of like thecaterpillar turning into a
butterfly.
It's like a transformation.
I didn't know what happened,but I sure felt good, and I
(17:06):
don't think it was the pizza Iate the night before.
I really do believe I felt therebirth, the rebirth of my
spirit.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Well, the same thing.
That's great, ron, because thesame thing happened to me,
because I was religious.
You know, when I prayed thatprayer and I asked, the Lord
gave like Paul just said, gavehim a shot at my life I
experienced for the first timepeace with God.
You know, just like you said, peace it was just peace from God
.
I finally had this peace thatI've never had before.
All my sins were forgiven andyou felt it.
(17:37):
I mean, you really felt it.
You knew after that happened tome it wasn't 10 seconds later I
knew something changed.
So I had peace with God, all mysins were forgiven and then I
had a brand new start at life.
I walked outside and I sawthings and experienced things
and filtered things through myown life differently.
(17:58):
I began to see it because myspirit on the inside became born
again.
That's what happened.
I came from spiritual death tospiritual life and that's what
Jesus did.
He came to live inside of meand that's when I experienced
all these wonderful things thatwe're talking about and that is
the point of today's show thecelebration of Easter.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Now, maybe some of
you have given up on religion,
maybe Christianity, maybe achurch has hurt you, Maybe
somebody has lied to you, butJesus wants a personal
relationship with you.
You're never going to be in aworld where you're going to be
around people that do all theright things and say all the
(18:38):
right things.
You cannot base your theologyon what people say about you or
how they treat you.
Base it on the fact that Jesusis crazy about you.
He's madly in love with you andwould love to do life with you.
Paul, you know we're about outof time, so right now it's your
turn.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
If you find yourself
in a place where someone's hurt
you so you've got unforgiveness.
Every day it's with you.
Or you're addicted to something, or you just can't stand
something else going on in yourlife and you wish you were free
of it.
Jesus isn't a religion for youto try.
He's the only one who will giveyou a relationship that will be
(19:23):
the landmark thing in your life, that your life will definitely
start taking a turn, to get youfree from the things that you
hate that are going on in yourlife.
So today I'm asking you and I'mtelling you it would be the
best decision you ever made inyour life.
You turn to Jesus and, whetherit's Easter or not Easter, thank
(19:43):
the Lord that it is Easterseason and you turn to him on
your own and you say Jesus, I'mgoing to ask you to help me in
my life.
I'm going to receive you as theone to save me and help me, and
I'm looking forward to whatyou're going to do in my life.
Or I'm just going to check youout and see if you're going to
do something to change me andwatch what he'll do.
He is the only person who is nota religious figure.
(20:04):
He is a real man, the realSavior, and he will really step
into your life and start theprocess of changing your life
into what he would like you tobe, which will be so satisfying
to you that you will say thankyou, ron Myers, that I listened
to your show today.
Thank you, jesus, that you didchange my life.
I promise you you will be 100%so thrilled that you did this.
(20:29):
A year from now, you will bejumping for joy.
10 years from now, you'll bejumping for joy.
So do it.
Do it now, jesus.
I'm asking you to come into mylife and help me.
You will do it.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Yeah, and that's with
our listeners here.
I know there's real problemsout there, there's real hurts,
but all of us experience thatand the only reason we can share
Jesus with you is because hereally did fix us.
And you know what?
We still have some issues wherewe're fine tuning, but we're
(21:02):
happy.
We're a happy camper, we knowwe have a purpose, we have a
destiny.
We're a happy camper, we knowwe have a purpose, we have a
destiny, and when I get up inthe morning, I anticipate
problems that will come my way, because I'm not going to be
caught off guard because I'mdoing life with Jesus.
So I just say, hey, lord, Idon't know what we're going to
come up against today, but Iwant you to know that I love you
(21:22):
and thank you for leading metoday.
Encourage me and inspire meSometimes, andrew, a person to
be encouraged and inspired byJesus and just feel his love
that's all you need, and thenthe rest begins taking care of
itself.
So you have a church.
Tell us about your church.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
The name of our
church is called the Mission
Church and Training Center.
We're at 21025 Success Road inSocher, mississippi.
Our Sunday morning services areat 1030.
Every Sunday morning.
We do have our Sunday morningprayer meeting.
That goes from 930 to 1010.
We have our midweek service onTuesdays.
It's a Tuesday night Bibletraining and we do intense Bible
(22:00):
studies and we're in a whole10-week series on healing.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
You too.
Thank you, I hope this hashelped.
I believe it has.
God orchestrates these showsand helps somebody out there
that is struggling in life, andthey happen to tune in.
Paul, will you close this inprayer Sure.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Father, I thank you
for the opportunity to get into
the ears of people who arecrying out for help.
They see the direction that theworld's headed.
Maybe they don't see thatbecause their life has always
been in a state of delusion orturmoil or misfit or dysfunction
.
So I thank you that these wordsthat they heard today are
guiding them to calling on Jesusfor his help.
(22:40):
No matter where they stand,You're there with them right now
.
I ask you to let them feel yourpresence and let them have the
understanding that you arecalling them right, where they
are as clean as they are, asimportant as they are, as least
important as they are, that youwant them to be in relationship
with you and I thank you fordoing that, Father and for them
(23:00):
to experience what we'veexperienced when we've said
Jesus, I need you.
So I'm asking you to help me,Save me.
Thank you, Jesus, Amen.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
You're listening to
Get the Hell Out of your Life
with your host, ron Myers.
Real stories, real strugglesand real hope.
Speaker 6 (23:24):
Have you ever been
falsely accused, your reputation
tainted, your good namebesmirched, blamed for something
you just didn't do?
It leaves us shaken, angry andfrustrated.
We know we're being unfairlyjudged and don't deserve this
treatment.
Jesus knows all about that.
When he went to the cross, hewas dying for sins he had never
(23:48):
committed.
The Bible says he never sinned, but God laid on him the
iniquities or the sins of us all.
Jesus died for the sins hedidn't commit so that you and I
could be forgiven for our sins.
Jesus needed to do this ifwe're to be able to be forgiven,
as we have no other way ofpaying that price for ourselves.
(24:09):
If you'd like to know how youcan begin a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ,I invite you to call or text us
at 888-NEED-HIM.
That's 888-NEED-HIM.
Speaker 5 (24:24):
Ron will be back in a
moment to wrap up today's
conversation.
Did you know what Ron didbefore he discovered his destiny
?
He was a promoter of secularentertainment and, by his own
admission, he promoted anythinghe could make a buck at.
At the pinnacle of his success,he walked away from it all so
he could follow Jesus anddiscover his God-given destiny.
(24:45):
That was over 20 years ago andhe has never looked back.
Today he's an inspirationalspeaker on a mission to empower
individuals just like you todiscover their God-given destiny
.
Ron put his story in a novelentitled the Promoter and he
wants to give you a copy.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
My story is proof
positive that God's plan for you
and I is greater than all ofour mistakes.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
Here's what a few
readers have said.
I could not put it down.
I cried, giggled, gasped andlaughed out loud.
Ron has written a novel andself-help book all in one the
best book I've read in a longtime.
This book is a message of hope.
To request your free copy ofRon's novel the Promoter, visit
(25:32):
our website at thepromoterorg.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
Now back to Ron, I
told you at the beginning that I
am just talking to one persontoday, the one that is not going
to church, the one that's allalone, has been left to just
fend for themselves.
It's tough.
Unbelief, doubt, uncertaintyenters into your head.
(25:59):
I know I've been that.
That's why I am so passionateabout who Jesus is Not church,
not a denomination.
I gave up on that.
I don't want to listen to man'sopinion of how I worship Jesus.
I want to believe what Jesussaid the finished works of Jesus
.
My life is different.
(26:19):
My life is passionate, my lifeis great.
I have no guilt.
I have no condemnation.
I have an intimate personalrelationship with Jesus.
Save for eternity, whether Iever step foot in a church or
not.
Period.
That is the gospel of JesusChrist.
So today it's your choice.
(26:39):
You're a big man, you're a bigwoman.
You can make a decision.
I would strongly suggest, whenyou really feel like you cannot
go on, just say Jesus, I needyou, I need to see that you're
real, I need to touch the ham ofyour garment.
(26:59):
That's all you need to do,friends, and the rest will take
off.
I know it happened to me.
It happened to the hundreds ofpeople that I've interviewed.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
