Ron Meyers (00:23):
Hello, my friends.
It is so good to be with youjust a few days before
Christmas.
Are you in the mood?
I kind of am.
Kind of not.
But what I am in the mood foris some good teaching by
Jonathan Kahn.
He is a messianic Jew, whichmeans at one time he was Jewish.
(00:43):
He saw that Jesus was theMessiah, and now he's a
messianic Jew.
And I have a teaching from himtoday, Hanukkah in the end
times.
Sometimes, friends, we justneed to hear some profound
teaching to understand that ourdestiny and our purpose is so
far rooted back in history.
We get caught up in some of theday-to-day little things, but
(01:06):
the big picture is this that Godhas chosen you for this time in
this world.
For this time, God has a planfor you, and Jonathan is going
to share with why so manypeople, God's people, are going
through trials because Satan istrying to preempt your purpose,
(01:27):
your destiny.
So let's take a listen to myfriend Jonathan Kahn as he talks
about Hanukkah and the endtimes.
Jonathan Cahn (01:36):
Hanukkah began
when they when they came to the
Temple Mount and rededicated theTemple on the Temple Mount.
So even here, what happenedOctober 7th is linked to the
Temple Mount.
Hanukkah is linked to also theTemple Mount and a struggle over
the Temple Mount.
It says of Messiah, it sayshe's the servant of the Messiah
(01:57):
is the servant of God.
And it says, coming into theworld, he lights up the light of
man.
He lights us up the light ofthe world.
And the blessing.
Blessed are you, Lord God, Kingof the universe, who performed
great wonders, miracles for ourancestors in that place at this
(02:22):
time.
Blessed are you, Lord God, Kingof the universe, who sanctifies
us in faith in Yeshua, theMessiah, light of the world, and
in your word, and you commandedus to light the lights of
dedication.
Where is Hanukkah celebrated inthe Bible?
Where is it?
There's only one place.
(02:43):
It's in the New Testament, andit's in the Gospel of John.
And here it is (02:46):
John 10.
It was the feast of dedication.
It was winter time in Jerusalemand Yeshua.
Jesus was walking in the templeof Solomon's porch.
And the Jewish people camearound him and said to him, How
long will you keep us insuspense?
If you are the Mashiach, theMessiah, the anointed one, tell
(03:07):
us clearly.
And he answered them and said,I have told you.
My sheep hear my voice.
I know them, they follow me,and I give them everlasting
life.
I and my father are one.
Where is Hanukkah?
It says, The feast ofdedication.
Now you read that and you don'trealize what it is, most
(03:27):
believers.
And Jewish people, if you tellthem, look, it's right here,
feast of dedication, they won'tknow what that is either.
Most people, Israelis will.
Notice it's winter time.
Messiah is walking in thetemple.
Most likely it's lit up by thelights all over of Hanukkah.
(03:50):
And the thing is, I said thisbefore, but you know, we don't
know if Jesus celebratedChristmas.
That's his that would be hisbirthday.
We don't know.
We know he didn't celebrateSanta Claus, Frosty, or anything
like that.
But we don't know that hecelebrated it.
We know he celebrated Hanukkah.
It's right here.
And the thing is, Hanukkahbrought you Christmas.
(04:13):
Without Hanukkah, you could nothave Christmas.
Without Hanukkah, you would notbe saved today.
So there is a mystery to thisbecause it's about the
rededication of the temple.
And you ask why Jewish peopleare celebrating, they'll say,
Well, it's a rededication of thetemple.
Where's the temple?
We don't know.
There's no temple.
(04:34):
And yet we're celebrating therededication of the temple.
Maybe it's prophetic becausethere will be a temple again.
But the Bible says, Do you notknow?
You are the temple of God.
If you're born again, it saysyou're actually the temple of
God because God has come intoyou.
God is in you.
Your life, you are the vesselthat contains God.
(04:58):
And so when you think about it,when you got saved, that was
Hanukkah.
That was your Hanukkah.
Because he came into thistemple that was dark and he
cleansed you.
He took out what shouldn't havebeen there, took out the idols,
took out the unclean things, and then he lit up the light in
your heart.
He lit up your life inside out.
(05:18):
So even when it's the darkesttime, you still get a light
shining.
And in the center of yourbeing, he in the temple he dwelt
in the center, the center, theHoly of Holies.
That's your heart.
And so he's got a reign fromthe heart.
He's got to be the center ofyour life in order for the
temple to be lit up.
And the thing is, that's whathe did, but you know, it's still
easy, all of us, to let otherthings get in and get a little
(05:42):
darker, let idols get in,substitutes, distractions, and
let the fire of God, your zeal, your flame, burn a little lower.
And that's why it's always goodto have Hanukkah, to renew,
rededicate.
You are the temple of God.
And when you're totally givento God, you light up, you're
(06:02):
radiant.
That's what God wants.
Is there a connection betweenwhat happened on October 7th and
the holiday of Hanukkah?
Well, do you know why Hanukkahis celebrated for eight days?
You may have heard it's themiracle of the oil that was
supposed to last only one daywhen they came back to the
temple to cleanse it, but itlasted for eight days.
Well, it's all nice, but itmost likely never happened.
(06:25):
There's no ancient account.
It's only years, centurieslater, that they came up with
that one.
But the thing is, the actualaccount mentions nothing about
that at all.
But it does mention why it'seight days.
And the reason is that mostpeople don't, most Jewish people
don't know, most Christiansdon't know.
It was because of thepersecution in those days.
You could not go to Jerusalemto worship God like God
(06:47):
commanded.
You couldn't do it.
What was the last holy day thatthey could not do that they
missed before Hanukkah?
Well, we know it because it'sthe one, the last one that we
celebrated.
What was the last holiday wecelebrated?
The Feast of Tabernacles,Sukkot, which is the last feast
of the Jewish year, the sacredJewish year.
They couldn't do it.
Now, now, tabernacles is if youcount the last day, it's eight
(07:11):
days.
So what they did is theyrededicated the temple by
celebrating the Feast ofTabernacles.
And so that's why Hanukkah iseight days, because the Feast of
Tabernacles is eight days, andthis is what Hanukkah was.
And it makes sense because whenSolomon dedicated the first
temple, you know what day he didit on it?
You know what?
It was the Feast ofTabernacles.
That was the dedication of thefirst temple.
(07:32):
So they probably took it fromthe Lord to do it.
So it was eight.
So that's why Hanukkah is eightdays.
Now, that means Hanukkah islinked to the Feast of
Tabernacles a few months ago.
The last day of tabernacles isthe eighth day.
That's why they're eight days.
Eighth day.
It's called Shemini Atseret.
It's also called Simchop Torah.
(07:52):
It's a day when it's the veryend of the Hebrew year.
It's the very last day.
Well, this year, on that holyday, the last day of all the
Hebrew feasts, last day oftabernacles and everything, that
was Saturday, October 7th, theday when Hamas did what it did.
They did it on that day.
Now, whether they did itbecause of it, I don't know.
(08:13):
But it was supposed to belinked to joy.
So they did it.
So that already links whathappened then.
Now there's war in Israel, butthat all began on that last day
of tabernacles.
And now this is the next holyday of Israel.
They are all joined togetheragain.
But they're also, but also atthe same time, you know, there's
(08:33):
more.
You see, what they did on thatday is they it was a
desecration.
They desecrated something holy.
First of all, it's a dayappointed by God, sacred holy
day.
Now they appointed it for evil.
They desecrated it.
And everything they did topeople was a desecration of the
image of God.
Hanukkah is also aboutdesecration of enemies of the
(08:55):
land who desecrate God's work.
And then Hanukkah is theconsecration of the desecration.
Consecrate, making sacredagain.
And so there's anotherconnection.
But there's also Hanukkah isabout a war between those who
wanted to wipe out Israel asGod's nation and those who
(09:15):
fought against that.
That's Hanukkah.
It's happening again.
Here's an ancient thing, andit's happening in 2023.
The events of Hanukkah, buthere's another one.
The events of Hanukkah, morethan any place, focus on one
site, the Temple Mount.
Now you probably didn't know itbecause the media probably
didn't make much mention of it.
(09:37):
But what Hamas did was part ofa carefully orchestrated plan
and operation.
They were planning it for along time.
And they gave it a name.
You probably never heard it,but it had a name.
Hamas called it OperationAl-Aqsa Flood.
What is Al-Aqsa?
Al-Aqsa is the Islamic mosquethat sits on the Temple Mount.
(10:01):
What does that have to do withthe Gaza Strip?
Have to do with the TempleMount very far away.
But think in Hanukkah, the warwas ultimately about the Temple
Mount, where they had desecratedthe temple, made it pagan.
The Maccabees, it all the theHanukkah began when they when
they came to the Temple Mountand rededicated the temple on
the Temple Mount.
So even here, what happenedOctober 7th is linked to the
(10:24):
Temple Mount.
Hanukkah is linked to also theTemple Mount and a struggle over
the Temple Mount.
Why?
To uncover the answer, and thisis what we're going to open up
this morning.
We need to look at the biggerpicture.
The war against Israel wasfought in the name of Palestine,
the Palestinians.
On the day after the attack, Ispoke of what was behind it.
(10:45):
That was Sunday morning.
I want to give you a little bitmore on that.
You may come across Bibles thathave maps or biblical maps that
say Palestine in the time ofJesus.
Well, that's an error.
Biblically and historically.
Biblically, because God gavethe land to Israel.
It was called the land ofIsrael by God.
(11:05):
And historically, Jesus wouldhave never called the Holy Land
Palestine.
But for most of why is itcalled Palestine?
For most of 2,000 years, theworld has called that land
Palestine.
Why?
It goes back not to the Jewishpeople, it goes back to the
enemies of the Jewish people andpeople outside Israel.
(11:26):
In 70 AD, the armies of Romeset Jerusalem on fire, took its
people captive, sent the Jewishpeople into the nations, just as
Messiah had prophesied.
In the year 132 A.D., came alast revolt.
Many people don't know aboutit.
It was one last revolt of theJewish people against Rome, of
(11:46):
those who were still in the landcalled the Barkohpah Revolt.
The Romans came in underEmperor Hadrian, they crushed
it, and they sought to erase thememory of the land of Israel
from the planet.
So they officially named it anew name, and they called it
Palestina to erase Israel.
That's how it became the name.
(12:08):
The name Palestina, where'dthey get it from?
They got it from the Greeks.
There's a Greek word Palestine, which is first used by the
Greek historian Herodotus.
So where did that name comefrom?
Where did he get it from?
It comes from a region in theBible, a small region on the
southwest of Israel, on theMediterranean coast, bordering
(12:29):
Egypt or the Sioux or theSonapeninsula.
It was called Pilashtim.
Try it.
From Pilashtim, you getPalestine.
Pilashtim means thePhilistines.
So therefore, so they were theones who were the enemies of
Israel.
They continually raided Israel.
They warred against the peopleof Israel.
(12:50):
They're first mentioned in thebook of Exodus.
When God leads the Jewishpeople out of Egypt, he says,
Avoid, he took up to avoid thePhilistines, because they would
be, they were warlike, theywould be discouraged.
You find them in Israel forcenturies.
They are continuously thePhilistines, Philistines.
In the time of Joshua,Philistines, time of judges,
Philistines.
Philistines are the ones thatSamson warred against, whom
(13:12):
Delilah, when she said, Hey,Samson, the Philistines are upon
you.
The Philistines are the oneswho took Samson into captivity,
blind him, taunt him.
They're destroyed when hebrings down the temple of Dagon.
The Philistines are the oneswho warred against King Saul.
In doing so, they led to hisdeath.
They in fact, in fact, killedhim.
He fell on his sword, but onMount Kilboa, and the death of
(13:35):
Jonathan and his other sons.
The Philistines warred againstKing David.
Perhaps the most famousPhilistine, you know him, is
called Goliath.
They were the enemies inancient times of Israel.
They occupied a small regionthere, again, on the coast.
The strip of land was calledPilashtim, which literally means
the land of the Philistines orthe land of the Philistines.
(13:58):
In English, in many of yourBibles, it's it occurs in the
Bible, it is translated asPhilistia.
Oh Philistia, the land of thePhilistines.
But the Hebrew is Pilashtim, from which you get Palestine.
In Isaiah 14, Isaiah says, Inthe year that King Ahaz died,
this pronouncement came.
All of you, or Palestine, someof your Bibles might even say
(14:23):
Palestine.
It's talking about the littlestrip there.
Because the rod that struck youis broken, for from the
serpent's root a viper will comeout, its fruit will be a winged
servant.
Wail you gate, cry you city, melt away, Philistia, all of
you.
Joel 3.
Moreover, what are you to me,Tyre, Sidon, and all the regions
of Philistia?
(14:43):
Palestine?
Are you repaying me withretribution?
If you are, I will return thaton your head, says the Lord.
Philistia, Palestina,Palestine.
Soon after the Romans destroyedthe land of Israel, Jewish
people gone.
It was now Palestina.
(15:04):
That's why most of the worldfor 2,000 years said, Oh, it's
the land of Palestine.
Never was.
The whole land was never calledthat.
They just took it from theenemies of God's people.
Now God loves all people, andwe are to love and pray for all
people, and we are to pray forthe people of Gaza.
At the same time, we also muststand against evil and for God's
(15:27):
purposes.
We have to do both.
The people who war againstIsrael are ultimately pawns in
this game.
Just as Hamas, behind Hamas isIran.
Behind Iran and all of this isthe enemy.
Which brings us to the wordPalestinian.
(15:48):
That in effect meansPhilistine.
The flag of Palestine means theflag of the Philistines by by
the very name, by the very word.
The Palestine Authority couldbe translated as the Philistine
Authority.
The pro-Palestinedemonstrations could be
translated as thepro-Philistine.
And when they say they chantPalestine, Palestine is to be
(16:10):
free from the river to the sea, they are saying that they that
Israel is to be replaced by theland of the Philistines.
So what happened this Octoberwas linked to Palestine, of
course, we know that.
Which was linked to the ancientPhilistines.
But what about the TempleMount?
They named it the Temple MountOperation.
(16:32):
Well, just as the namePalestina comes for the whole
land of Israel, comes from theRomans af at the Bar Kokhba
revolt to wipe it all away atthe same time.
The Emperor Hadrian didn't justrename the land, he renamed
Jerusalem.
And now Jerusalem was renamed.
(16:53):
It shall not be Jerusalemanymore.
He called it Elia Kapotolina.
Kapitolina means the temple ofZeus, the temple of Jupiter.
So now the city of God is namedafter Zeus.
And the city of the temple ofGod is named after the temple of
Zeus.
(17:13):
Which is amazing becauseHanukkah, when they went up to
that temple, this is hundreds ofyears before, when the Greeks
went up to the temple and theydesecrated the temple, they did
it in the name of Zeus.
And they set up an idol.
It was an idol of Zeus.
So now the Romans are doing thesame thing.
It's an ancient war.
Now it's Zeus again.
You know, I wrote The Return ofthe Gods, these things don't
(17:34):
stay dead.
You have Zeus, who's now calledJupiter.
And now it's now he's renamedthe whole city after him.
The war is ancient, and it hasnot stopped to this day.
And so Jerusalem.
So you have the land namedafter the enemies of Israel, the
land of Israel.
You have the city of Jerusalem, the holy city of Israel, named
after Zeus, the God of theirenemies of Israel, at the same
(17:59):
time.
So what and that includes theTemple Mount.
The Temple Mount, they wereeven it said they believed that
they were even planning to builda temple of Zeus on the Temple
Mount.
So what does October 7th haveto do with this?
Well, how to do with the wholeland?
They want to wipe out Hamas hasin their charter, we're going
to wipe out Israel.
That's their aim.
More than anything else, wehave to destroy, kill every Jew
(18:21):
you can.
And Jerusalem, they say that'sours.
And the Temple Mount.
Why?
Well, for that, Revelation 12.
A great sign appeared inheaven, Revelation 12.
A woman clothed with the sunand the moon under her feet and
her head, a crown of twelvestars, and she was pregnant.
(18:43):
She cried out, she was in laborand gave birth in great pain.
Then another sign appeared inthe heaven, behold, a great red
dragon, having seven heads andten horns on his head, seven
crowns, and his tail swept awaya third of the stars of heaven
and hurled them to earth.
And the dragon stood before thewoman who was about to give
birth, that when she gave birthhe might devour her child.
(19:05):
The woman is Israel.
Twelve stars.
The dragon is Satan.
The dragon makes war againstIsrael.
You want to understand history?
There it is.
Jewish history, there it is.
4,000 years.
What happened?
We don't understand what justhappened in college campuses and
all around the world.
That is this.
(19:26):
That's Revelation 12.
That is the hatred.
That is not natural butsupernatural.
The woman gives birth to achild.
Who's the child?
Messiah, who will rule theworld, it says.
Messiah.
Notice the dragon is therebefore she gives birth, waiting
for her to give birth to devourthe child.
Think about it.
When Jesus was born, whathappened?
(19:47):
King Herod tried to kill thechild.
This is this is all the enemy.
See, and this revealssomething.
The enemy's strategy, more thananything, is to preempt what
God is going.
To do to stop the purposes ofGod before they begin.
Look at it.
Garden of Eden.
When does he attack, man?
(20:08):
Right then.
And that messed up everythingfrom the beginning.
Moses, baby.
The enemy's trying to kill allthe Hebrew babies because he
knows Moses is one of them.
Messiah, baby.
At his birth, they tried tokill him.
And just before Messiah'sministry, he's about to
minister, what happens?
Enemy gets there to tempt himaway, have him jump off a cliff
(20:31):
or jump off a high place andkill himself.
He tries to circumvent it, hetries to preempt his ministry
just before it happens.
And then it happens right afterthat.
Even before Messiah's ministryor his birth, you have Hanukkah.
Hanukkah is linked to Messiah.
Because the enemy knew what wascoming.
He may not know all things, buthe knew that Messiah is coming.
(20:52):
And he was going to come afterthe Old Testament.
So what does he do?
Before he comes, he tries towipe Israel off the map, convert
it into a pagan nation.
Why?
If you do that, you have noMessiah.
Because then you have noJoseph, no Mary, you have no
belly, you have none of thathappening because he would have
destroyed them.
So notice he tried to do that.
(21:13):
That's Hanukkah, not only leadsto Christmas, it was because of
Christmas or the birth ofMessiah.
Now the enemy knows Israel isback.
And he knows Messiah is comingback.
If Israel's back, Messiah'scoming back.
And so he must know Messiah isgoing to come back, not to New
(21:33):
Jersey, not to not to Las Vegas.
He's going to come back, not toRome.
He's going to come back toIsrael, Jerusalem.
That's why all hell has beentrying to wipe out the Jewish
people.
Not just because the enemyhates them, yes.
Not just because he's mad aboutthem for what he did.
The enemy was furious at thewoman who gave birth to the
child.
(21:53):
But he knows that the kingdomis coming through them.
What happened in October wasall part of this war that was
fought on this Hanukkah over2,000 years ago.
Even as the enemy's fury haserupted all over the world in
rage against Israel, even thatis part of it.
It plays into his hand.
They want to destroy Israel.
(22:15):
Because in the end, but in theend, it's going to be prophecy
because God said, All nationswill come to destroy Israel.
But on that day, Messiah iscoming.
What we have seen in thismystery, and the media will
never tell you.
World leaders have no idea, most of them or all of them.
Intelligence agencies cannottell you this because only we
(22:36):
can see it as the children ofGod.
It's in the spiritual realm,it's behind what's happening in
the physical.
And it's not just the mysterybehind what's happening in the
world, but what's also the enemytries to do in your life.
You see, it reveals thestrategy because the enemy is a
(22:59):
preempter.
God has a call for your life,He's got a purpose for your
life, He's got a perfect planfor your life, and the enemy
will do everything he can tostop that from coming to pass.
He will attack the purposes ofGod in your life.
So if you're in the will of Godand you're being attacked, but
(23:19):
you're in the will of God, don'tbe discouraged.
Get encouraged.
It's a great sign.
It means the enemy is attackingwhat God is gonna do, the
blessings of God.
That means that God has a planand has good things.
The enemy would not be wastinghis time if God didn't have
that.
He only attacks God's plan.
So if he's attacking you, that's a good sign.
Announcer (23:41):
Amen.
Jonathan Cahn (23:42):
You want the
enemy to be your enemy.
You don't want him to be afriend.
You know, you want God to beyour friend.
You know, someone said, youknow, we want to be in God's
perfect will.
You know, you know, you want tobe in the opposite of the
enemy's plan.
You want to be in the theopposite.
He doesn't waste his weapons.
So the more you're beingattacked, praise God, the
greater God, what he has foryour life.
(24:04):
What else does it reveal?
The enemy is a preemptor.
That means he attacksspecifically what God is going
to do and has not yet done.
So the timing of the attack isa giveaway.
With Israel, the most intensetime.
Look, look, I told you whatjust what happened just before
(24:24):
Israel was born again.
All hell broke loose on theJewish people with Hitler.
Just before God is gonnafulfill all the prophecies that
he promised.
So in your life, you know, theenemy, when he attacks you, it's
a sign, if you're in God's willand he's going crazy, he's
going, it's a sign of thetiming.
(24:45):
God is gonna do somethinggreat.
At virtually every point in mylife, when there was a great
attack, the enemy came in like aflood, it was just before God
was gonna do a great thing.
Ron Meyers (24:57):
I just love that
teaching.
Jonathan Kahn is one of themost incredible teachers.
I'm sure it's because of hisJewish background.
I would highly recommend to dosome research on him through
YouTube, Jonathan Kahn, and hisbooks.
Wow.
But friends, I've been sayingfor seven years on this show
(25:18):
that God has an incredible planand a purpose.
But sometimes we get so wrappedup in the little day-to-day
things, the Sunday morningmeetings, the little duties that
we put in front of ourselves.
But when we really grasp thebig picture, that in of all the
people in this world, you havebeen chosen for something very
(25:40):
special with God.
And the enemy wants to keep youso busy, busy doing a lot of
religious duties to make youfeel good, but it also stops you
from really discovering what isthis beautiful plan Jesus has
for my life.
That's what it's all about.
And the year 2026 is comingright around the corner, and I
