Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time now to get
the hell out of your life.
A weekly broadcast with realpeople sharing real struggles
and offering real hope.
Today's show will encourage, inspire and empower you to face
life's challenges with a boldconfidence and renewed hope.
Now let's join our host, ronMyers.
The promoter.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hello, my friends.
It is so good to be with youtoday, and today I have a fun
show because it's all about you.
I want to know how are youdoing?
No, I mean really, how are youdoing?
Are you afraid of somethingcoming up or are you worried
about the future?
Do things on the news justshatter your dreams, your hopes
(00:47):
and aspirations for life?
Are things out of control?
Do you ever say what in thehell is this life all about?
Why, if there's a God, am I notfeeling better?
You know those are goodquestions.
So today the show is for you,it's about you.
I know I have been praying allweek, lord.
(01:10):
Whoever needs to hear what I amabout to say, have them tune in
and then have them share itwith their friends.
Because, friends, I do thisshow for you.
I really do.
I buy time on the radio stationyou're listening to or the
podcast you're listening to, toshare some of the incredible
things that I found out in life.
(01:31):
To save you the heartache, thetroubles that I went through.
You know, failure is not afailure to me.
Failure is my dancing partneron this journey in life, and
failure has taught me what to doand not to do.
And sometimes, friends, if youwill just open your heart to be
open-minded, to listen tosomebody that has been where you
(01:52):
are and has overcome thesituation, to discover purpose,
passion and life, because isn'tpassion one of the things that I
see missing in life?
I see it especially missing ina lot of people that call
themselves Christians.
I really do believe the churchhas failed so many of our people
because they focus more onreligious activities instead of
(02:18):
setting their congregation freeto become the person that Christ
has created them to be.
So, if you will bear with mefor a little bit, I think I can
have you encouraged, empoweredand inspired Because, as I said,
it's all about you.
So the first thing I like to askan audience when I speak is if
(02:40):
you went to the doctor today andthe doctor told you you only
had a few months to live, howwould your life change?
And people will raise theirhands and say, well, I would
start living more intentionally,I would put my affairs in order
, I would be kinder to peopleand make up for the things that
(03:04):
I did wrong to other people.
Lots of different answers andevery single answer is correct.
There is no wrong answer.
But then I ask if those aregood answers and they're great
answers, why aren't we doingthat now?
Why aren't you doing that now?
See, I think we've beenbrainwashed or told too much
(03:25):
that the life that God has forus of freedom.
We have to be careful, theytell us, because is it about you
or is it about Jesus?
And if we're not careful, we'regoing to follow our dreams, our
selfishness and our foolishdesires to please ourself.
But is that really true?
That might have been true in myearly life, when I didn't know
(03:49):
Jesus.
I knew Jesus, but I didn't havea relationship with him.
I did whatever I wanted to do topursue the production business
and do shows.
Now, I never did it to makemoney.
I did it because I loved it.
I wanted to create of thefullness of life and I did this
through putting togetherproductions, concerts, festivals
(04:11):
, fairs, whatever it could.
And it was fun and the journeywas there.
But something happened one day, after about 12 years, I had
accomplished the goals I set outfor me and then I didn't know
what to do.
I attained the prize that I wasafter and then I said to myself
(04:33):
now what?
And what I realized is that alot of times that you and I,
when we pursue our dreams andour hopes, it's to fill the void
in our life, it's to make usfeel alive again.
We want something in our lifethat we can control, that we can
be good at, we want to beaccepted, we want that
(04:53):
unconditional love, and so wetry to manipulate or do things
in life that accomplish thatgoal that we have, and we're
often successful.
But then when we get what we'vebeen looking for, searching for
and we hold it in our hands, wesay, wow, I've got it.
Now, what's in my life?
And that's where the changecame in my life, because I hit a
(05:17):
dead end.
Now, to the world, people saywhy in the world would you hit a
dead end?
You're doing good, you know, but I wasn't really walking in
the fullness of my life.
I was walking in the fullnessof my personal, selfish desires
of doing the things in life Iwanted to do.
And I think a lot of times, myfriend, we have to be very
honest with ourselves.
What we're doing is a lot of itis about it's selfishness,
(05:41):
because it's all aboutsatisfying what's inside of us.
We want to fit into the crowd,we want to be part of the people
that see us in a crowd and giveus a high five and we share all
the successes we had, or wehave, rather.
But then we go home, the houseis quiet, you go to bed, you lay
on the pillow and you think, wow, is there more to life?
(06:02):
Yes, friends, there's more tolife.
And again, that's why this showis for you, because somebody
out there, you're wondering whatis this all about?
And God has a plan, and I don'tthink anybody has ever
discovered God or purpose, orpassion, or discovering the
things they want and have beencreated to do, because they have
(06:23):
a fear of failure.
So we grab for the easy things.
It's easy to do a little bit ofgood and we feel good.
It makes us alive temporarily.
But what if I could tell youthat there is a life that is
awesome, a life that you canpursue your dreams, your goals
(06:45):
and whatever it may be.
Not necessarily to win, but toenjoy, to have fun on this
journey.
We should be smiling andlaughing and having a fun time
every day.
But no society has reigned onour parade.
We get locked up in politicalcandidates, we get locked up in
(07:06):
trying to change the world, whenthe only one we can change is
ourself.
And then, when you understandthat you don't have all the
answers, you're never going tofind all the answers, it's time
to quit following your desiresand follow the desires that God
has placed in you before youwere ever born.
(07:27):
See, you have to believe.
You must believe that you havea purpose, a purpose that is
beyond what you can ever evencomprehend.
Something that is magnificent,it's great, it fits you, it's a
custom-made suit that only youcan wear.
And then you must believe thatGod is for you and not against
(07:53):
you.
He is not walking around with aclipboard judging you on
everything you say and do, andhe is not carrying a baseball
bat to hit you over the headwhen you mess up.
Friends, messing up is the verythings that we need in life to
show that we can't do it alone.
(08:15):
Why do we keep messing up?
Because we're stubborn, we'rehard-headed, we're determined
that we're going to figure out.
What's going on in our lifereally can come down to one word
pride.
And when I set my pride asideand I didn't care.
In fact, I think the threegreatest words that you'll ever
(08:39):
have in your life is I don'tcare.
I don't care what you thinkabout me.
God loves me.
I don't care if you don'tunderstand my dream, my hopes,
my desires in life.
I didn't give them to myself.
God has downloaded it into myspirit.
It's awesome.
(09:01):
I finally feel alive because Igot out of the way and I let God
take over my desires, my dreams, and now I'm pursuing a dream
and a goal that God has placedin my heart.
But it custom fits me.
It custom fits the suit that Iam to wear in this journey of
(09:23):
life.
Think about this Michelangelo, great, great artist.
He took a block of marble andchiseled away until he set David
free.
You see, michelangelo saw abeautiful person inside that
block of marble and he had amission, a desire, a goal to set
(09:46):
David free.
And I believe that is the roleof our church leaders to help
chisel away everything that isstopping us to becoming our true
selves.
That's right, friends.
This is your time.
Have you ever noticed that alot of the churches, instead of
telling you how free you are andthat God loves you and has a
(10:07):
plan for you and that Christdied for you and that you can
become alive with Christ anddiscover everything that he has
for you, they spend time onrules, signing up for classes
and doing things that stifle.
I believe they do.
This is my opinion and I'm notchurch bashing but I think they
stifle your growth.
I'll give you an example formyself.
(10:27):
Years ago I was in a church andI'm a wild, crazy guy.
I mean, I follow my dreams, Idon't have any fear of failure,
I don't care what other peoplethink.
And they were saying well, nowyou've got to go out there and
you've got to die to yourselfdaily.
And I thought to myself die tomyself daily.
Why would I do that?
(10:48):
I'm alive with Christ, christis in me.
Why would I die?
Daily I'm loved, I'm forgiven,I've got a plan, I've got a
destiny.
I need to be alive.
I need to go out there with apassion and a purpose.
I need people to see me and say, wow, what do you have, ron?
I have Jesus.
Do you want him?
Let me tell you what you can doto have Jesus and discover a
life of fullness, a fullness oflife with purpose, with passion,
(11:12):
a life that when you lay downat night and go to bed on your
pillow, you can say boy Lord, wesure had a good day, didn't we?
I can't wait to see whattomorrow's all about.
You see, today my show has takena total detour.
I put my guest aside untilanother day, maybe next week,
but God has given me permissionto give you permission to dream,
(11:37):
to explore, not to conform tothe expectations of humans or
the expectations ofdenominations, but rather the
awesome plan, purpose that Godhas created for you.
Can you imagine this?
Okay, imagine this.
You're in a park.
It's just you, the green grass, the beautiful trees, the sun is
(12:02):
shining bright, the wind isblowing your hair and, if you're
like me, maybe you don't havethat much hair, but the sun is
radiating the unconditional lovethat you are so much searching
for, but you're finding it.
You're finding it and you'rewalking into the fullness of
life that has been prepared foryou prior to you ever even being
(12:26):
born, and you're alive.
You're alive.
It's you and Jesus.
As I say a lot of times, friends, I believe this is the time
that you have got to go on thatdesert island where it's just
you and Jesus.
You've got to be doing lifewith Jesus so you can have the
freedom to become who you werecreated to be, to feel the
acceptance and no judgment, theunconditional love of Christ.
(12:50):
Let me ask you, if you knew, absolutely positively, that you
were free, you were forgiven, that God had no condemnation, no
judgment for you and that hewas going to lead you on a path
in this life that was awesome,it was just for you, it was
tailor-made for you, if youabsolutely knew that, beyond a
(13:13):
shadow of a doubt, how wouldyour life change?
Well, I know I can hear theanswers now.
You're exactly right.
You'd start having fun.
And why do we allow other peopleor other situations to define
who we are.
They may offer opinions, but itis only God that can tell you
(13:38):
that you are awesome, you areforgiven, you are free.
He's not looking at you forwhat you've done wrong.
He's looking for what he didright for you by sending his son
to the earth, dying foreverything that was evil in this
world, and then raised from thedead to give us the
(14:00):
resurrection power in life thatwe have.
We walk around as Christianswith the power of God inside of
us Inspirational ideas,encouragement, friends.
We just need to get back to thebasics.
Quit trying to be like otherpeople.
Don't try to fit in a mold thatdoesn't belong to you, because
(14:21):
you will never be happy.
You will end up hating yourselfand your circumstances because
you're not becoming who you wantto become.
You need to let go and let Godhelp you break away that marble,
chisel away that, everythingthat is stopping you from
becoming who he needs you to be.
(14:42):
Because why does he need you tobe who you were created to be?
Because you have a purpose.
Your purpose involves others, helping others, encouraging
others.
Whether you're a teacher, you'rea baker, you're a lawyer,
you're a doctor, whatever it isthat you do.
(15:02):
Here's a good test.
You got to be honest withyourself.
Do you love what you do and doyou do what you love?
And often people will say, well, I'm trying to get this other
job and when I get that I'll behappy.
Well, when I moved to this partof the country, I'll be happy.
When I get rid of this deadbeatspouse, I'll really be happy.
(15:23):
No, you won't, no, you won't,no, you won't.
The problem is, sometimes youdon't want to admit that you
have some screwed up, whackedout beliefs.
But that's good, because thisis your time to say you know
what I'm going to exchange myold self for the new self.
(15:44):
Well, I'm going to take a breakand when I return, I'm going to
tell you some things that helpme discover a passion and a
purpose in life that only Icould discover through my
conversations with Jesus when Ireturn.
Five things that can help youdiscover purpose and passion for
(16:08):
your life.

destiny for eternity.
Speaker 3 (16:50):
You are special.
No, really, you are.
Think about it Out of 8.1billion people on planet Earth,
there is no one who is exactlylike you.
My name is Mark, and this isthe Journey.
God made you special.
It is amazing to me to thinkabout God and His creations.
He created the heavens and theearth and everything in them,
(17:12):
and then he created Adam, and soit was not good for Adam to be
alone, so he created Eve.
Woman would become the glory ofman.
From there, god has beeninstrumental in the creation of
every single human being sincethe Garden of Eden, and Psalm
139 reminds us that.
He knit us together in ourmother's womb.
(17:32):
He made us, therefore he knowsus, but there is no one else
exactly like you.
You are unique, exquisitelyspecial.
Think about your life for amoment.
There are certain things thatyou are really good at.
Everyone has talents andabilities that enable them to do
certain things well Maybeworking on vehicles or building
(17:53):
things, painting, sewing,cooking.
Maybe you have a gift forhospitality and hosting
gatherings.
Did you notice I used the wordgift?
Exodus 31 tells us that Godgives us certain talents, skills
and abilities.
Yours are different from mineand mine from yours, and that's
one thing that makes you specialyour talents and abilities.
(18:15):
God created you for a reasonand he gave you the abilities to
do certain things well, so thatyou may fulfill your purpose in
life.
Your special purpose, yourspecial assignment.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Out of 8.1 billion
people on planet Earth, god
created you for a reason lifearound If you want to start
living right, get the hell outof your life, get the hell out
(19:05):
of your life.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Welcome back
listeners.
All right.
How can you discover everythingthat God has for you?
Well, I said it before you mustbelieve that you have a purpose
.
You must believe that you arenot an accident.
You must believe that itdoesn't matter what color your
(19:28):
skin is, what your lifestyle is,it doesn't matter what you
believe.
Most of it is totally wrong.
You have to believe that Godhas a purpose for you and you
are in a state of affairs rightthis very minute because of
choices you have made.
(19:49):
We all get in that boat.
Now it's time to get out of theboat and say Jesus, I want to
discover my purpose through you.
And then, number two, you mustbelieve that Jesus is for you
and not against you.
Where did he go when he waswalking the earth?
(20:09):
Did he hang around in thechurches with the religious
leaders?
No, he hung around with thesinners.
He wanted to show that he didnot come here to be served, but
to serve others.
God's destiny and plan for youinvolves serving others through
your talents, skills andabilities.
(20:32):
Number three you must pursue thejourney of self-discovery.
You have to begin askingyourselves who you are.
What am I here for?
And you cannot let othersdefine you.
Number four you have tounderstand that pursuing
whatever it is in life, atangible goal or a prize at the
(20:54):
end, will only give youtemporary satisfaction.
To really understand thepassion and the love of life,
and the unconditional love ofJesus, is to enjoy the journey.
Enjoy every single minute.
Embrace failure.
Failure is your best friendbecause failure will help shape
(21:16):
you into the person you knowthat, chiseling away the bad
stuff to unveil the super duperperson that you are.
Failure is your partner.
It makes you wiser, strongerand more determined.
Number five you have to livewith a passion that can only
come by being yourself.
That's right.
(21:36):
You got to quit looking at theseother people and say, wow,
those people are pretty cool.
I've heard people ask me well, ron, do you think your podcast
one day will be like Joe Rogan's?
Said, I have no idea.
I doubt it will because I don'twant it to become like Joe
Rogan.
I want to become like Ron Myers.
I want to become me and I don'tcare if I have one or a million
(21:56):
and one listeners, it doesn'tmatter.
I'm faithful to what I feel ismy passion in life.
I'm having fun in life becauseI have an opportunity to speak
life into my friends on theother side of this microphone.
I told you earlier, michelangelo took a block of
marble and chiseled away at ituntil David was free.
(22:18):
God has given me permissiontoday, to give you permission to
dream again, to explore, not tobelieve the lies that
everybody's told you, not toconform to the expectations of
humans, but rather the awesomeplan that God has custom created
just for you.
(22:38):
Free to become yourself, afreedom that walks in the
unconditional love of Jesus, andyou are free to become
everything you were created tobecome, if you need something
more out of life than whatyou've already experienced if
you need a new start a cleanslate if you want to live life
(22:58):
forever, you need God in yourlife.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
If getting old has
you depressed.
Speaker 4 (23:01):

scares the daylights out of you.
If you want to know what thefuture holds, get in touch with
the one who holds the future.
Speaker 2 (23:08):
Stop wasting time and
get a hold of God.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
It's not about
earning points by being good.
It ain't about some boringchurch.
It's not about working your wayto heaven.
Finding God is not aboutfollowing some group who claims
to be the only way to God.
It's not about being religious.
It's not about religion.
It's all about God's only son.
It's all about Jesus.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
It's all about Jesus.
Speaker 4 (23:27):
It's about Jesus
Christ, it's all about you.
It's all about you, Jesus.
Jesus said I am the way, thetruth and the life.
No one comes to the Father, butby me.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Well, someday, when I
stand before God and he asks me
, why should I let you intoheaven?
All that's going to matter isif I knew Jesus or not, and
that's what it's all about.

word from James 1, verse 5.
If any of you lacks wisdom, heshould ask God, who gives
generously to all withoutfinding fault, and it will be
given to him.
Ron, we'll be back in a momentto wrap up today's conversation.
We want to encourage you todaywith God's promise to you.
(24:46):
It comes from the book ofJeremiah, chapter 29, verse 11.
For I know the plans I have foryou, declares the Lord.
Plans to prosper you and not toharm you.
Plans to give you hope and thefuture.
That's God's promise to youwhen you choose to commit your
(25:09):
plans and future to him.
Now back to Ron.
