Year in Review: 2025

In this episode, "Year in Review: 2025," the crew gets sentimental about the year we’ve had. We reminisce about conferences, work trips and learning about fish. We chat about the episodes of the year such as fish myths, fish games, ancient fish, funding for research, shark training and evolution. This podcast is brought to you by the basking shark, one of three plankton eating sharks in the world. Named after its common proximity to the surface of the water, people assumed they were sunning themselves, while they were probably just eating.  When eating, the basking shark’s mouth is so large that it looks continually surprised. Maybe it's surprising that it doesn't eat something bigger than plankton. Basking sharks are a cosmopolitan species, meaning they can be found all over the world and adapt for various climates.
