Who’s behind films like “Schindler’s List” and “Scent of a Woman” or “American Gangster” and “Inside Man?” How about “Erin Brockovich” and “Yentl?” Even “Do The Right Thing” and “Rocky III and IV” or “Ray?”

The trailblazer and film publicist … Roz Stevenson.

April is Black Women's History Month and for every Maya Angelou, Angela Bassett, and Ava DuVernay, there are millions of women who have done the work for centuries without any notoriety. Roz Stevenson is one such woman and talent. She’s been creating notoriety for many of Hollywood’s premier film and A-list talents for the past 5 decades. A master of branding, marketing and publicity as the former CEO of Roz Stevenson Public Relations, she has been dedicated to marketing to the African American film goer and multiethnic audience. She has made a difference in the world by working from behind the scenes to change America's premier export into one that is more universal, lucrative and harmonious. Award-winning directors as Ava DuVernay and Lee Daniels, as well as Award-winning luminaries and talents as Samuel L. Jackson all sing her praises as respect for her runs deep.

In an age where YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and others have made every user a purveyor and self-publicist, we have so much to learn from Roz Stevenson, her ‘more than a hundred successful movie campaigns’ and her book “Look at God! My Hollywood Walk of Faith”.

"(I do feel that I've changed the Hollywood Industry" I feel that so many times that somebody like a Chuck Berry, when we would see me, it was such a joy."  Roz Stevenson, Hollywood Publicist
