Speaker 1 (00:00):
Were you uh childing at the Fitch to get some
more reps any you didn't get any in seven or
seven in your lody to get a little more what what? Yeah,
that's something you uh you know you gotta talk to
Dave about.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
But you know, my go out go out here with sister,
get better and just focused on me and the team
and you know what I can do to uh, you know,
help this team. So that's that's really my goal today.
I know you were here after getting drafted that weekend,
but when you come out here.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
On the practice field, is setting in a little more
with the stadium out here? Oh ya, It's it's beautiful here.
It's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
You know it's coming out here, you know, seeing the
stadium uh from distance, coming on the practice field and uh,
you know, being able to see the coaches and being
around the teammates, my teammates. Uh, it was fun. It
was a blessing and I have fun today.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
You heard a lot about your ole fens uh come
out of Tennessee. How frustrating was that to hear? And
what you gonna show out here, uh to to spell
some of those Yeah, you know, I'm I'm a football
player at in the day.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
So, uh, yeah, I came from you know, Tennessee's offense,
which you know, I had fun and uh learned a
lot of new things now and you know coming to
this offense, you know, learning more than new things by
the end of the day. Man, I'm a football player,
you know, I can play any any offense. And I'm
just glad I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
There feeling you. You obviously, like last summer, you really
pumped your intensity in your workouts, right you or recommitted
a How much do you think that is your reason
why you're here right now? I think it's a big reason.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Just putting in the work, uh, believing in myself, having
the confidence on the field. Uh, and then normally that
is showing out when when it's time for you to
show out.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I really believe that. Uh. You know, whenever your opportunity is,
you gotta make the most of it.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
And I I think I did that uh last season
and can't wait to do this season, you know, when
my opportunity comes up, Jaylor.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
What's putting your field on on coach table? The coaching staff?
Oh yeah, oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I love the coaching staff here, Coach Dable and uh,
the guys, you know, the coaching staff that we have,
you know, they definitely know what they're talking about. You know,
I'm with them twenty four sevens, you know, trying to
get the place now. I'm trying to you know, learn
a new playbook. And just being around good guys like
that and knowing that they know what they they're doing,
it's just, uh makes it easier for me. You know,
I just go out there and play and just listen

(02:02):
to them.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Uh. As just a person from Brian day, What what
do you think about him?

Speaker 2 (02:06):
He seems like a very likeable coaching Oh yeah, he's
very He's very likeable, hard nos coach. He's gonna get
on you. But that's that's what you wanted to coach,
you know. You want somebody that's gonna be hard on you,
you know, tell you when you're wrong, and at the
same time, uh, praise you when you're right. So I
think that's what he is. And I'm just glad to
be a part of him and his coaching stuff. And
you know, the teammates here.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
See and what's this the whole route tree thing that
people have asked you about, you know, and you know
I in the whole draft process. Well is that kind
of either surprise or disappoint me a little bit this
whole you know, you can't do the route tree.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, you know, it's you know, people always gonna say things,
you know. I think that's what I learned the most.
I'm here now. You know, I'm here at the Giants,
and uh you know draft process, and you know everything
else is out of the way, you know, I'm here,
and uh, my only focus now is just getting better
learning my new teammates, you know, learning the coaching staff here,
learning the playbook, and just going out there and my
opportunity you know, presents itself and that's my goal.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
That's what I wanna do. You say kind of safe?
Do you think it's safe to say that the Giants
in this offense, you're gonna ask you to do more
than you were asking to college as far as.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
You know, Uh, I want them to, you know. Uh,
you know, we have a great coach of staff here.
I think we all know that, and uh, you know,
whatever they ask me to do, i'm'a do it to
the best ability I can do. And you know, my goal,
like I said earlier, it's just to come out here,
n you know, learn my new teammates, learn to coach
the staff, Uh, learn to playbook, and you don't have
fun at the end of the day.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
So that's that's really my only go That video of
uh you with the Cowboys receivers coach kind of made
its rounds. Uh how much? What do you what do
you make of that when when people do question sort
of the route running tree and what did you make
of that situation at the time? Didn't bother you?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Nah it it It didn't bother me at all, you know,
Uh coaches and you know it.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
L A lot of people have their own opinions on things,
and you know, I respect I respect the Cowboys receiver coach.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Med med with 'em, met with 'em when I went
up to the you know, my one of my thirty
business when I went up there. So I have a
lot of respect for 'em. And uh, like I said,
I mean, that's that's in the past. Now, drift processes
in the past. You know, I'm here with the New
York Giants and I'm just ready to get to work.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Do you guys? Have you do you guys? You play
twice a year? Is that just spark you a little bit?
There's someone on the other side, maybe a doubt play.
You know, any team might go against man, it's gonna
spark me. Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I'm I'm in the NFL now, you know, and uh
you know I'm here with grown men, so uh I
can't wait to just go out there and play, you know,
I can't.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
It doesn't matter what team it is or who we're facing. Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I just can't wait to go out and represent for
the Giants and represent for this culture.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Stuff cheer like more. Do you think it'll stay with
you that, you know, unexpectedly to any of us, you
were a third round drift? Then yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Uh I you know, at the end of the day,
I'm it's still a blessing, you know. Uh, still a
blessing that they traded up to get me. I think
that's really big and uh you know, I I really
have a lot of respect for the Giants for doing that,
and you know they My goal now is to prove
myself to know and you know, that's That's really what
I'm focused on.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
And I can't wait to get to work. They have
the need for a big receiver. You obviously bring great
speed as well.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Do you feel like you'll fit in?

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I yeah, I really think I'm fitting well just being
here and uh, you know, meeting the new guys and
meeting the coaching staff here, and like I said, whatever,
uh the coaches want me to do, i'm'a do it
the best of my ability.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Uh. I'm just blessed to be here, you know, and
uh just came away to get to work. What stands
out to you, Uh, what stands out to you about
being out in an NFL field practice shold being in
an NFL facility.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Uh, I'll say for me, it's just a new environment.
You know, coming from a college, uh, you know, University
of Tennessee, and you know, now coming to New York.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
I never been to, you know, a big, big city before,
and this is really my.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
First time, you know, actually being in New York, and
you know, so far it it's it's everything that I
thought it would be. It's beautiful here, just being around here. Uh,
beautiful in the practice field. I mean when I went
out there today, man, I was just soaking it up,
you know, just being on that field today and you know,
seeing my teammates and uh, you know, seeing the coaching
staff and just being around them.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
And uh, I had I had a blessed day. I
think that's really the biggest thing, really, just being out here,
just being blessed. I think that's the biggest thing. You
was failings real Yep, you deal with here, you know.
Yeah I haven't. I haven't throw it down you yet.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Well, you know, we're gonna try to find something else later,
so we'll see.
